I know many of you didn't like House Beautiful's October issue (I know, I'm so behind with my magazines) but I actually found so much to love in it. I think the art on the cover image was unfortunate (not that it was bad, it was just too much for the room.) But other than that, I really enjoyed it. Oh, and did you know Newell Turner (the editor in chief) likes sci-fi flicks?

In other news, I finally put the thrifted rug in my office, and it makes it look so much better. I think that's just the motivation I needed to frame some art and find proper seating for this room. So you can expect more cube into home posts in the near future.

Something about this room just says HOME. I love everything about it, from the wingback chair, which revokes English decor, to the ikat upholstery and the Moroccan side table. And then, just when it's getting a little bit too stuffy, the La Fiorentina cushion in that kicky color and the beautiful vase and flowers step it up.

Can't you picture yourself relaxing on that chair, reading a great book you just took from the shelf and sipping something cool and refreshing from one of those gorgeous glasses?

Designer Caitlin Wilson posted a few photos from a house she designed. I love the femininity of the design: carrera marble with shots of pink, damask wallpaper with flow-y curtains. It's just so pretty and calming, without looking barbie-esque and exaggerated.

This is not necessarily my style ( I tend towards the more masculine, Hollywood Regency look) but I can still appreciated such pure prettiness. Go over to Caitlin's blog for more gorgeous interiors, like her amazing home in Dubai.
