Basement Buildout Continues

This weekend found us back in the basement, finishing up the last room! We’ve ignored the bathroom for well over a year now, but it’s time that we finish it so we can concentrate on kitchen project next. Lenora ordered the flooring for the bathroom last week and even though it’s been framed for well over a year, we still hadn’t hung any sheetrock or prepared the shower for tiling. All of the electrical and plumbing has been finished for a long time as well so this weekend, we roughed in the sheetrock and will spend the upcoming evenings mudding, sanding and painting!

Basset Hounds For Sale

We have our newest litter of Basset Hounds ready to be reserved. This will be Sophies last litter, so this will be your last chance to purchase a Basset Hound from us. We have 1 female and 5 males, all beautiful and all healthy. They will be ready for their new homes in approximately 4 weeks, so if you’re interested, you can reserve yours now. We are asking $300.00 for each puppy. If you want to reserve one, we’ll need $150.00 down (non-refundable). You are more than welcome to come over and visit the pups as well as Abner (the dad) and Sophie (the mom). I’ve posted some pictures below of both Abner and Sophie and I’ll add pictures of the puppies as they continue to grow! If you’re interested, just use the contact form on our page to let us know.

Abner is a 100% full bred Basset Hound born on Christmas Day 2009. His father was a tri-color Basset Hound and his mother was a red and white like he is. He’s one beautiful dog and has a very good temper. He loves to play with the other dogs and is still a big baby at heart.

We’ve had Sophie longer than any of our other Basset Hounds. She was born in 2006 and we purchased her from a breeder when she was only a couple of months old. She is truly one of the smartest dogs we’ve ever owned or known. She loves everybody, she was very easy to train and has the eyes of an Egyptian princess. She is truly a integral part of our family. This is her second and last litter.

Here are the pics of the puppies taken on 02/26/2012. They will be 5 weeks old on 2/28/2012. In just a few more weeks, they’ll be ready for their new homes. Floor Jack Enclosure

So, it’s about that time of the year again to continue with our home improvements. Our goal this spring is to get the basement completely done. That consists of finishing the restroom and a couple odds and ends. This past weekend we finally got around to enclosing that eyesore of a floor jack that has been sitting in the middle of the family room for 3 years. Not that we didn’t want to enclose it, just wasn’t sure how we were going to do it. I’d thought about boxing it in, but came across this product called Pole-Wrap and as you can see, it made the job so much easier. Cut to fit, glue it down, then paint it. Simple as that. I believe the total cost involved was about $75.00. Much cheaper and easier than boxing and installing sheetrock. We’re very pleased with the results…!

Low Carb Diet Day 31

So far, on my low carb diet, I’ve lost a total of 30.1 lbs. Still not eating anymore that 20 net carbs per day, cut way back on diet soda both at home and at work. Drinking much more water and eating more greens and other healthy carbs. I hope to start a more intense workout regiment soon, just have to be able to work into my crazy schedule of “things to do”. I want to be at my goal weight of 210 lbs. to 220 lbs. by spring. At this rate, it should be no problem. I don’t have a “sweet tooth”, so cutting out sugars has been very easy, but I do treat myself to a low carb, sugar free protein bar from time to time. If you get the right ones, they taste no different than a candy bar. However, some of them taste horrible, you just have to try them until you find one that you like.

My Movies iPad App

This app is awesome, especially if you have My Movies installed on your media center host pc/server. My Movies for iPad is the fastest, easiest and most impressive way you have ever kept track of your movie collection. Low Carb Diet Day 12

As of this morning, I’ve lost a total of 22 pounds on my low carb diet. I’ve also gone down 1 pant size. Todays eatings:

1 Kosher Dill Pickle

1 Adkins Advantage Chocolate Peanut Bar

1 Serving of Buddig Smoked Ham

1 Cheese Hot Dog

1 Fried Hamburger

Few ounces of Hot Pepper Cheese

Total Fat: 47g

Protein: 62.4g

Calories: 773

Total Carbs: 6

Will probably have some greens later this evening.

So, before anybody says anything, I’ve done my homework on low carb dieting. I know that evening having 20g of carbs a day is very low. My first 2 weeks, I’ll keep it under 10g a day, then the following 2 weeks I’ll keep it under 20g a day, eventually settling at around 50g a day.
