Wow. I have never been so stumped for words in my whole life.

It’s easy to write posts on what Bents has gotten himself into this week, how funny P is, how stinkin’ cute little SJ is, or how obnoxious life can be with a house full of boys.

Easy I tell ya.

But trying to write a post about “ME”…pssst…I’d rather go do laundry. I hate trying to walk that fine line between “tooting your own horn” and “sounding like a total loser”. You know?

I will do my best (for all you Blissdom attendees that I may be meeting for the first time) to describe ME.

• First things first. I’m a dork. A pretty big dork. Exhibit A to the right.
• I’m type A. Organized. Detailed. OCD. And occasionally…A.D.D.
• I have 3 boys all under the age of 5 and a middle child who makes me ponder making my husband go get fixed.
• I quit my full time job to blog.
• I’m a goodie-goodie. There I said it. I like to follow the rules.
• Speaking of more children. I can’t tell you if we are “officially done” or not so don’t ask.
• I’m a follower of Jesus. I’m not perfect and I’ve even done things here on this lil ole blog that show you my imperfections. God’s grace is good.
• Everyone says to me…”Ohhhh, 3 boys, huh?” My response: “Yes, 3 boys and I wouldn’t have it any other way.” And I mean that from the bottom of my heart.
• My husband blogs too. He’s way more popular than me.
• I’m a hugger. But, I can also recognize when people aren’t huggers and I won’t force you to hug me. No pinky promises though.
• I have my MBA, but no, I did not get my master’s in grammar. Or geography. Just ask my husband how I told him all about the 52 states. Ahem.
• I’m honest. Even when it’s not pretty. Some people hate me for it and other’s appreciate it. I don’t like things sugar-coated.
• I danced on a college dance team and I still occasionally pretend that I am peforming at a basketball game. Except most of the time I am performing in my kitchen for the boys. Who says moms can’t have good moves?
• When I quit my job a few months ago, my husband and I started up a couple’s blog called Dollars and Roses! Our goal…to show YOU how to make money by blogging.
• I don’t drink. In fact, I’ve never had a beer in my life. Not even in college. *gasp* (I’m not judging anyone who does drink, I just choose not to.)
• I use to be a military wife. My husband is a Certified Financial Planner, but he use to be a soldier. A soldier who spent 17 months in Baghdad, Iraq. A true hero.
• I like to think I’m still fun even without the alcohol.
• I live a mile from my parents. I talk to my mom every single day. They help us out so much with the kids that it’s not even funny. Love them so!

I’m walking out the door and heading to Nashville, TN where I will be attending Blissdom! I am so excited I almost peed myself this morning! But, along with the excitement are nerves too!

Will people like me? Am I good enough? Will I say something stupid? And the list goes on. I’m going to put my insecurities behind me and just try to meet as many wonderful women as I can.

Did I say I am so excited? Crap…I almost peed myself again! Gotta run! I will report back next week on how much fun I had!

Hey girls (and guys??)! I decided that I wanted to start being better about vlogging on a weekly basis so I decided to start hosting a weekly vlog link up! Who’s in? Don’t all raise your hands at once now. I know you all just read “vlog” link up and wanted to go crawl under your beds. Uh-huh. I can see you.

Seriously though…I am going to be hosting “Stop & Smell the Rose’s” Wednesday! I am super excited to commit myself to at LEAST one vlog a week! AND I’m hoping since I am involving you all…it will hold me accountable!

I have a confession.

I keep seeing all these tweets and facebook updates about how people have been packing for Blissdom for weeks! Weeks people! And ME…I haven’t even started.

My suitcase is empty.

In fact, I am not even sure where my suitcase is. Yes, it has been THAT long since I have been on a road trip longer than 1 night. All I got to say is it’s a good darn thing that the wonderful ladies that run BlissDom sent out a packing list or I’d be up a creek! For sure!

I was possibly going to start packing last night, but it didn’t happen. Instead, I started working on this list…

…my list of blog updates that I wanted to get done before the conference. Ha! Most likely I won’t get all of this accomplished before Thursday morning. But a girl can dream right?

And do you see why I like the packing list I got from the girls at Blissdom? Lists…are my thang’!

So even though I said I haven’t started packing…I will say that I did at least try on a possible outfit choice for the Friday night out! Mainly because my husband wanted to see me in some pink heels. Ahem.

And no, we were not role playing.

But, I assure you, this is the ONLY outfit selection I have made so far.

I plan to throw some stuff together sometime between now and Wednesday night. If I forget something, I am almost positive there will be SOMEONE there that planned better than me and has an extra. Yea?

Ok, so who has been a packing procrastinator like me? And who has been packed since last month?

I ain’t judging! Trust me…all you that have been packed since January…I’m just jealous.

Blissdom veterans: All I keep hearing about is comfy shoes comfy shoes comfy shoes! I plan on taking your advice and sticking to comfy shoes for the majority of the conference, but I do really want to wear these heels on Friday night. Will I die?

ps A huge part of why I haven’t packed? Because I am honestly more concerned about cleaning out the mini or I’m afraid Tonya won’t want to ride with me. True story.

What kind of a husband would I be if I didn’t hijack my wife’s blog and slightly embarrass her on her birthday, right?

Exactly!

Yup, that’s right. My beautiful wife is celebrating her big day today – woop! woop! and I’ve been secretly trying to find some humorous pics to share.

Gigi and Papa have been so gracious to rescue take our kids from us for an evening as we head up to St. Louis for the night. Thank God for the best in-laws (grandparents) that a family can have!

Love you baba!!!! You are the best wife, mom, friend, companion that any man could ever have.

I’m tired.

Very tired.

So I apologize because Thursday Latelies are suppose to be uplifting. This week…not so much for me.

Please, if you love me or even like me at all…or HECK…even if you feel like you may hate me but still feel sorry for me then please comment with your best advice.

Also, I absolutely adore the idea of Thursday Latelies, but Thursday’s are actually the hardest day for me to get a video up (kids, work, etc) and sometimes I am not the best at having the best products to share or uplifting things to talk about (I’m pointing at you Bents).

Next week I am going to begin hosting my own link up on Tuesday’s. I haven’t thought of a name yet. It will be a vlog link up! I will post more details soon, but I hope some of you may join me!

I will still do Thursday Latelies when I can. Until then…help me get some sleep…PLEASE!

I absolutely could not help myself…I caught the cutest moment of all the boys working out with daddy. It was Saturday afternoon and daddy was trying to sneak in a workout, but as you can see…he has a few little followers who thought working out sounded like a splendid idea!

This was the warm up part where they were just stretching. Love them!

…we feel like a chaotic mess of underwear and mismatched socks scattered across the bedroom floor.

And that’s just how we roll here at House of Rose.

I wish I could tell you that I am a perfect mother who wakes up at 5:00 am every  morning to read her bible, slaves in the kitchen to have the kids a homemade breakfast ready for when they wake, sits at the dining room table for a family breakfast, has each child dressed in the cutest clothes for school, and is out the door 15 minutes early dressed in my best with full makeup. Ha!

I would say it’s more like this…

I wake up when I hear the baby crying on the monitor (and not a minute sooner). To be honest, I usually let him cry for just a few minutes while I at least get my teeth brushed. Sorry. A mom with bad breath is worse than a mom that let’s her baby cry.

As far as trying to read my bible in the early morning hours? I love God, but I also love my sleep. One of these days I am going to have the discipline to worship in the morning before anyone is awake. One day. Just not tomorrow.

Breakfast? My kids usually grab a granola bar on the way to the car as I am yelling at them to hurry up or we are going to be late. Sitting in the car seat to eat your breakfast is better than not serving breakfast at all right?!?

My 4 year old STILL refuses to dress himself so yes, that means I have 3 kids to dress instead of 2. Not only that, but you have to chase the 2 year old around the house and then double team him to get him to sit still for longer than 60 seconds while you throw some clothes on him. And most of the time…no they don’t match and he will have them back off within 3 minutes if you don’t immediately strap him in the car seat.

My attire? Let’s just say that this morning I was so frazzled that I forgot to put on underwear. I’m not kidding although I wish I was because even though no one knows when your not wearing underwear…I still secretly feel like they can see through my pants.

So no, I am not a perfect mother. I am far far from a perfect mother. I like to call my mommy skills a “work-in-progress”. I have lots of things I need to improve.

It’s a good thing God’s grace is on me. And it’s funny how even after my morning goes a little whacko-macko…sometimes I still feel like a superhero.

Do you ever feel like even after you have failed…at least you finished?

One thing I never forget to do as a mom is to tell my boys I love them before I drop them off.

Afterall, isn’t love enough? Who needs matching socks and eggs and bacon if you have LOVE?!?!

I have never put any of the boys in BabyLegs, but I have always wanted to. Now I am wondering…what the heck was I waiting for??

And to all you BabyLegs wearing baby boy mamas…why didn’t you tell me to jump on this bandwagon years ago?!

Is it because 99% of the time my kids are pants-less? Ok, I understand then.

Funny because SJ is usually never serious. He is smiling 90% of the day.

But, bust out the Canon and he gets super serious on me. I still love his serious look.

And personallly, I still think he’ll pick up chicks with his serious look.
