Four Ways To Write A Successful Elevator Pitch

Old timers in the marketing world would know exactly what I am talking about when I say elevator pitch. If you are relatively new to marketing, however, you might be a bit unsure as to what an elevator pitch is.

Think of it this way, how long does an elevator ride normally take? A minute or so tops, right? The idea behind an elevator pitch is that you can provide an accurate and compelling description of your business within that period of time. As such, an elevator pitch should be as attractive as possible.

When would you find yourself needing to give an elevator pitch? You really do not know exactly when and where.

Oftentimes, though, entrepreneurs are asked to give an elevator pitch to venture capitalists and angel investors – people looking to provide funding for a worthwhile venture. You can also use your elevator pitch to convince potential clients to take a look at what you have to offer.

In other words, your elevator pitch has the potential of getting a person to take a closer look at your product or service or to totally turn them off.

Seeing how important your elevator pitch is, how do you ensure that you have one the will work?

Information makes the world go round. It may sound like a cliché but it’s a reality that we face everyday. Information storage is very crucial in our everyday functions and this gives rise to the need of choosing the best information storage available.

From boxes, to safety deposits, cabinets, briefcases, or hard disks, information storage has evolved through the years. The capacity gets bigger and bigger while security issues still loom to keep all of your data safe.

Recent technologies have made megabytes to gigabytes and gigabytes to terabytes which makes things sound boundless. Today’s trends are inclined to data storage which doesn’t involve personal devices which are prone to crashes or damages. A lot of people are considering online storage systems to hold their important data.

Online storage services are getting cheaper and cheaper because of competition. It may be a daunting task if you are not aware of what you are looking for.

Below are some benefits why a lot of people now are using online storage:

5 Ways To Make The Best Out Of Your Contacts

In any kind of business, having contacts is one key to being successful. Being a businessperson means that you have to reach out to the people and not living in a vacuum. If you are inherently antisocial, you have two options.

One, you should find someone else to run your business – someone who knows how to deal with people. Or two, you have to adjust your attitude and perception. I prefer to tackle the second point as, in this day and age, there really is no excuse for anyone not to be in touch with the rest of the world.

In addition to that, interacting with all sorts of people will actually do you and your business a world of good.

After a full week of hard work, I finally moved the site from Wordpress to ExpressionEngine. I took this decision to make my all websites running on one central platform that can provide me a greater admin control and an easier way to manage the content and my readers/customers.

I’ve been doing a research for last three months to find a suitable platform to handle my growing needs. Drupal, Joomla, PhpNuke and ExpressionEngine were the top four I shortlisted. After carefully analyzing each one of them, testing them inside out, and playing with almost each feature that they offer, I selected to move ahead with ExpressionEngine. And I am pretty glad with the results so far.

Taking regular backups can be a real pain. There are hundreds of free and paid tools available in the market which automate the entire backup procedure. But these tools still require script installation and some configuration.

There is a really cool opensource shell script available from sourceforge which requires just 5 minutes to configure and then it works everyday on its own without any intervention. You don’t have to login and check the status.

Watch this video to learn how it is done. You can download this script from: http://sourceforge.net/projects/automysqlbackup/

This screencast shows you how to create and protect a secure “downloads” folder on your Joomla website (store) such that no one else but paid customers can download the files.

Many people make a mistake of creating this folder inside the public_html folder and that leaves a security hole..because anyone who knows the path of that download folder can share it with the entire internet community.

I have taken an example of a Joomla store running on Virtuemart but similar instructions can be followed on any CMS/Store software that you are using. If you face any problems, feel free to post using the comments form below.

I hope you’d enjoy this screencast.
