Once upon time, someone telling you about something, they give you an information to your ear and your brain will process the information and sending the response. The Myths is that “Talk to the Right Ear” will affecting in the response of your brain rather than talk to the left ear. What is the Fact?
Here is an odd fact: The Human right ear is typically dominant when it comes to listening to verbal stimuli, probably because the brain’s left hemisphere is better at processing verbal information. So far, the majority of research looking at ear preference in human communication has taken place in controlled laboratory settings, but an italian research team tested people’s ear preference in a noisy nightclub and found that which ear you talk to actually makes a difference.
In their study, researchers found that 72 percent of interactions occurred on the right side of the listener, results consistent with previous research. In the second study, the researchers approached clubbers spontaneously, mumbled something meaningless, and waited to see if the subjects offered either their right ear. They then asked for a cigarette. Fifty-eight percent offered their right ear, but in terms of getting a cigarette, there were no clear gains, regardless which ear had been addressed. In their third and final study, however, the researchers spoke intentionally to either the clubber’s right or left ear, asking for a cigarette. To their surprise, when they talked into a clubber’s right ear, they obtained significantly more cigarettes than when they addressed the left ear. These results, according to the authors, clearly confirm a right ear/left hemisphere advantage for verbal communication, and a distinct specialization of the two halves of the brain when it comes to approach and avoidance behavior.

The South Koreans Athletes Kim Yu-na Wins the GOld Medal in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver with a record score on Friday. This is the first South Korean athletes bring the gold medal home at the Winter Olympics in a sport other than speedskating. Kim Yu-na showing her best performance On Thursday night which has scored 150.06 points in the ladies’ free skating at the Pacific Coliseum. Combined with her 78.5 points in the short program on Wednesday, the total score was 228.56 points, breaking the previous world record of 201.03 points which she set in the Grand Prix Trophée Eric Bompard in Paris last October.

Kim’s arch rival Asada Mao of Japan took the silver medal with 205.5 points and Canada’s Rochette Joannie the bronze with 202.64 points. Korean figure skater Kwak Min-jung finished 13th with a personal best score of 155.53 points.
Twenty-year-old Kim is the first Korean figure skater ever to win an Olympic medal.

Even Kim seemed to be dazzled by the show she put on, gasping when she saw the monstrous score. Coach Brian Orser gave a Rocky-like victory pump, shaking his clasped fists over each shoulder.

“I still can’t believe it,” Kim said. “I waited a long time for the Olympics, and it feels like a large weight has been lifted off.”

The 19-year-old grinned as she hopped up to the top spot on the podium, tugging at the bottom of her dress. When the gold medal was slipped over her head, she kissed both sides and held it up. Her lip quivered when the South Korean anthem began, and then came the tears.

She made a beeline for someone holding the South Korean flag as she set off on her victory lap, and carried it triumphantly as fans serenaded her with cheers and applause.

“Truly I still can’t believe that I did what I wanted to do at the Olympics,” she said.

Longtime rival Mao Asada of Japan won the silver medal, but it was no contest—even with Asada landing both her triple axels, one in combination with a double toe loop. Asada was more than 23 points behind Kim, a margin so big Kim could have done nothing but figure 8s for the last half of her program and still finished in front.

In fact, Kim’s score was so off the charts, it would have put her ninth in the men’s competition—even though they skate 30 seconds longer and do an extra jump.

“It’s one of those programs that, when it’s done like that, when it’s perfection …” Orser said, his voice trailing off.

Joannie Rochette, skating four days after the sudden death of her mother, won the bronze, giving Canada its first women’s medal since Liz Manley’s silver in 1988.

“I had to be out there as Joannie the athlete and not the person,” she said. “It’s not easy at some points. There’s always some moments when emotions take over. But I really tried to be strong to make my mother proud and my father, who was in the stands.”

The Americans, meanwhile, are going home without at least one medal for only the second time since 1952. The other time was 1964, three years after a plane crash wiped out the entire U.S. team on its way to the world championships.

But there is hope on the horizon with 16-year-old Mirai Nagasu finishing fourth. U.S. champion Rachael Flatt dropped two spots from the short program and was seventh.

Kim came in bearing almost incomprehensible pressure. Not only was the reigning world champ the biggest favorite since Katarina Witt in 1988—she’s lost just one competition during the last two seasons—she carried the weight of an entire nation. Maybe her sport, too.

The most popular athlete in South Korea, she’s been dubbed “Queen Yu-na”— check out the sparkly crowns that twinkle in her ears—and she needs bodyguards whenever she returns home from her training base in Toronto. Anything she does creates a frenzy, and even a simple practice draws a rinkful of photographers.

Figure skating is also counting on her to bring back the sass and star power that has traditionally made the women the must-see event of the Olympics. Think of some of the greatest Winter Olympians ever and Dorothy, Peggy and Michelle— no last names needed for die-hard fans—immediately come to mind. But the sport has lost some serious luster since Michelle Kwan stopped skating.

Kim seemed to shrug off any jitters earlier this week, saying after the short program that it felt like any other competition. But it was clear Thursday that it meant so much more—for her and Orser, a two-time Olympic silver medalist who was devastated when he lost to Brian Boitano at the 1988 Calgary Games.

“It’s more gratifying,” Orser said. “(But) it’s definitely her medal. She’s a champion.”

There were simply no visible flaws in Kim’s performance, from her skating to her expressions to that lovely cobalt blue dress. While other skaters slow down as they approach their jumps to steady themselves, she hurtles into them at full speed yet touches down with feathery lightness. Her connecting steps are like art on ice, and her edges show not even the slightest hint of a harsh scrape. Her spins were centered so perfectly the tracings looked as if they were made with a protractor, and she must be quadruple-jointed to pull off all those positions in her combination spins.

What really makes her transcendent, though, is her performance skills. She breathed life into Gershwin’s “Concerto in F,” moving across the ice like notes on a score. As the music lifted the first time, she put one hand on the small of her back and gave a flirty little smile that set shutters clicking throughout the building.

When she finished, you could almost see the pressure fall away as Kim bent over and cried. So many stuffed toys and flowers littered the ice the full complement of sweepers had to be deployed—not once, but twice.

“It’s not any time to hold back. It’s not a time to be conservative or cautious. Be Olympic,” Orser said. “We’ve talked about that, coming here. You’ve got to be Olympic. You’ve got to be a competitor. Yes, you’re beautiful. Yes, the programs are beautiful. Beautiful lines. Great presentation and choreography.

“But you’ve got to be Olympic and you’ve got to be fierce. And she was.”

It almost wasn’t fair that Asada, skating next, had to try and one-up that.

She couldn’t. Not even close.

“Because there was so much noise from the crowd, I was not able to hear her score,” Asada said. “But judging from the loud reaction, I knew she must have had a great performance.”

Asada, who has swapped titles with Kim since their junior days, is one of the few women who even tries a points-packing triple axel, and she did two on this night. But she melted down later, stumbling on the footwork into her triple toe and forcing her to cut it to a single. She did only four clean triple jumps, two fewer than Kim, and did not do either a triple lutz or a triple toe.

Asada looked stone-faced as she waited for her marks. She didn’t even crack a smile when she got her silver medal.

“The triple axel I landed I’m happy with,” Asada said, “but I’m not satisfied with the rest of my performance today.”

For Rochette, the medal is a culmination of “a lifelong project with my mom.” Therese Rochette, 55, had a massive heart attack just hours after arriving in Vancouver to watch her daughter skate, and Rochette has been the picture of courage this week.

Supported by her father, Normand, and longtime coach Manon Perron, Rochette decided to go ahead and compete. Her performance Thursday wasn’t perfect; she two-footed and stepped out of a triple flip, and had shaky landings on a couple of other jumps. But she made up for those errors with an emotional and expressive portrayal of “Samson and Delilah.”

When she finished, Rochette blew a kiss skyward.

Verizon Wireless : Making Calls using Skype

Making calls using Skype from your Smartphones is now available since Verizon Wireless has joined forces with Skype in late March as the operator said, Verizon Users are able to get Skype Calls Feature in Late March. If this is true then Verizon will get more subscribers in that time.
The two companies have built a new always-on application called Skype Mobile. The client will be available to owners of the following RIM (Research in Motion) phones: BlackBerry Storm, Storm 2, Curve 8330, Curve 8530, 8830 World Edition and the Tour 9630. It will also be available on the Motorola Droid, the HTC Droid Eris and the Motorola Devour.

To use the Skype client a data plan is needed. Subscribers will be able to make and receive unlimited and free Skype-to-Skype calls, and use Skype Out to make international calls to any phone at Skype’s standard rates. So, the client will be especially useful for users with family abroad, according to Verizon Wireless.

The calls will be carried over Verizon Wireless’ voice network, and won’t impact overall network quality, according to John Stratton, executive vice president and chief marketing officer at Verizon Wireless.

The Skype client will help Verizon Wireless set itself apart from other U.S. mobile operators, and what “you’ll see from Verizon, you won’t see from anyone else,” Stratton said.

The two companies didn’t demonstrate the actual application, but it will be tightly integrated on the respective phones, according to Josh Silverman CEO at Skype.

An Experienced Animal Trainer killed by a Killer Whale

Dawn Brancheau a Sea World Trainer killed by The Killer Orca Whale at a Sea World in Orlando. A 16-year veteran trainer at the animal park, drowned in a water tank stadium while stunned tourists watched, Orange County Sheriff’s spokesman Jim Solomons said. Witness Victoria Biniak said she saw the deadly incident from a viewing area. “The trainer was explaining different things about the whale and then the trainer that was down there walked away from the window. Then Telly (the whale) took off really fast in the tank and he came back, shot up in the air, grabbed the trainer by the waist and started thrashing (her) around,” Biniak said. “He was thrashing her around pretty good. It was violent”.

SeaWorld officials halted the Dine with Shamu show and escorted viewers from the area. SeaWorld also suspended its killer whale show at its San Diego facility.

The 30-year-old killer whale, named Tilikum, was one of three orcas blamed for killing a trainer who fell into a pool in 1991 at Sealand of the Pacific in Victoria, British Columbia, the AP reported, quoting SeaWorld spokesman Fred Jacobs.

The same animal, nicknamed “Tilly,” was involved in the 1999 death of a man who sneaked past Orlando SeaWorld security and remained in the park after it had closed. His body was found draped over Tilly. An autopsy ruled that he died of hypothermia.

Dan Brown, manager of the Orlando park, gave few details and declined to answer questions when he appeared briefly before reporters after Brancheau’s death.

“One of our most experienced trainers drowned in an incident with one of the killer whales,” he said.

Solomons said investigators consider it “an accidental death” and are continuing to investigate.

Brazilian tourist Joao Lucio DeCosta Sobrinho, 28, and his girlfriend Talita Oliveira, 20, told The Orlando Sentinel that they were at an underwater viewing area when they saw a killer whale with someone in its mouth. They said that Brancheau was bleeding from the face or mouth and that the orca turned her over as it swam.

Nowadays, there are many products especially in computer’s products which have came with refurbished condition spreads in our global market. In fact, I am not sure what the benefits of this refurbished item are?. If you refer to the cheap price then you can grab them as you want, but if you looking for a great deal which have cheap price and good specs, then I will suggest you to not take the risk to buy the refurbished computer without any certified warranty.

A couple days ago I have read some articles which have talks about an Apple Certified Refurbished iMacs. The Computer have been discounted and sold only through Apple’s online store. This I call it “buying the refurbished computer with minimum risk”. Since the Apple has claimed that this Refurbished iMacs have a certified warranty. The more benefits of this Refurbished iMacs are have a good deal in price as Apple have claimed a discount up to 40% for this product.

Shoppers should think about this. A slightly used, sometimes never used at all, computer that has been tested and certified by the manufacturer has been a generous price discount. It comes with all accessories, cables and manuals. It even comes with the same warranty as the new counterparts. Why isn’t this a good deal?

Many used and secondhand iMacs are sold by private parties on websites such as eBay and Craigslist. These offerings provide consumers some savings. However, in many instances they do not provide shoppers with assurance on their purchase. Little or no warranty, uncertainty about the exact condition of the iMac, and missing accessories may leave shoppers reluctant despite the cost savings.

Exxon Mobil Deals Off $31 Billion of XTO Energy

This Monday, Exxon Mobil has agreed to buy XTO Energy in all-stock deal which have value for USD $31 billion. It’s the largest energy deals in this year as the NY Times reported. It’s mean Exxon Mobil have a new rush to own natural gas assets by major integrated producers, and perhaps the start of a significant consolidation in energy industry.

Under the terms of the deal, Exxon will pay XTO shareholders .7098 common shares for each of their XTO shares, or about $51.69 based on Friday’s closing prices. The deal, which is taking advantage of low natural gas prices, represents a 25 percent premium for XTO’s shares.

The deal would give Exxon the equivalent of about 45 trillion cubic feet of natural gas throughout the United States, in a bet that demand will continue to rise. XTO, founded in 1986, is the nation’s largest domestic producer of natural gas.

“XTO is a leading U.S. unconventional natural gas producer, with an outstanding resource base, strong technical expertise and highly skilled employees,” Rex Tillerson, Exxon’s chief executive, said in a statement.

Exxon’s deal has prompted speculation among analysts over which natural gas producers may be up for sale next, with companies like Devon Energy now considered potential takeover targets.

Exxon said that after the deal’s close, expected in the second quarter next year, it would keep XTO as an upstream business unit to develop natural gas resources from unconventional sources like shale rock. The business will remain in XTO’s headquarters in Fort Worth, Tex.

Exxon was advised by JPMorgan Chase, while XTO was advised by Barclays Capital and Jefferies.

Fan Control Speed for Laptop

A couple weeks ago, i have a problem with my Laptop Toshiba A-105, the laptop’s performance is getting very slow. After trying to find the problem, finally i got the reason why my laptop’s performance has slow loaded. You know what? the internal fan in my laptop has slow speed. I just found that, when i have installed a laptop’s application which can show me the hardware’s performance of my laptop. The application name is Notebook Hardware Control (download link), have a complete information about my laptop hardware’s performance. It will display any information about Laptop’s CPU’s temperature, Laptop’s Cooler Fan speed, Laptop’s Battery performance, Laptop’s Hard Drives temperature, etc.

Finally I have replaced my Cooler Fan inside my laptop, and it’s worked. The laptop’s performance running faster than before. This is the best experience for me since it’s never been happen before. But honestly, I will to say Thank you to the creator of Notebook Hardware Control. Without this software, I may spend my money more than this.
