While wandering around Empire Bay during a recent hands-on session with 2K’s upcoming action shooter, we were taken aback by an image of a completely nude bunny girl popping up on screen after finding one of the collectible mags.
Download P3Zine Issue 41P3Zine Issue 41 GamerZines Magazine For our latest Mafia 2 coverage, click here to download P3Zine Issue 41 for free.A mild distraction, to say the least, and one that will probably get many a teenage boy begging their parents to buy them a copy of the game when it comes out next month.
The game, unsurprisingly, has been certified as a BBFC 18. It was announced back in March that 2K had signed a deal with Playboy to offer vintage issues of the magazine as an in-game collectible. What we didn’t know was that the completely nude centrefold springs on screen whenever you pick one up, warts ‘n’ all.
Mafia II launches on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on August 27th

We have now seen Blu-ray drives on laptops as small as the 11-inch Sony Vaio TT. With an HDMI port becoming an increasingly popular laptop feature, you’re able to easily connect a laptop to an HDTV for HD movie playback. And with Blu-ray player prices dropping, you don’t necessarily need to break the bank to bring home a Blu-ray-equipped laptop. Most of the Blu-ray laptop models out that are a little larger than usual and for good reasons too. Blu-ray movies just wouldn’t look as good on smaller screens. Blu-ray laptops have introduced a higher standard of video quality to personal computing, but sometimes that quality can be too high. Viewers with older televisions may have difficulty playing an HD movie on their television from their laptop. Blu-ray DVDs specialize in high-definition video, so they don’t often come with alternatives for standard sets. Depending on your TV’s inputs and your laptop’s outputs, you might need extra devices to display the movie.

Befor setting up process, you have to make sure that you have prepare the following tools :
HDMI cable, VGA cable, Composite cable, Coaxial cable, VGA-to-composite adapter, VAG-to-coaxial adapter.
Let’s get start the setup process.

If your laptop features an HDMI output and your television has an HDMI input, use an HDMI cable to connect.

Plug the HDMI cable into the laptop’s HDMI output.

Plug the other end of the HDMI cable into the TV’s HDMI input.

Plug the laptop’s headphone jack into a separate sound system to play audio from a device other than the laptop’s speakers.

Connecting with VGA

If your television has a VGA input and your laptop has a VGA output, use a VGA cable to connect.

Plug the VGA cable into the laptop’s VGA output.

Plug the other end of the VGA cable into the TV’s VGA input.

Connect the laptop headphone jack to a separate sound system to play audio from somewhere other than the laptop’s speakers.

Connecting using Composite

If your TV has composite inputs, you’ll need to purchase a VGA-to-composite adapter. Most electronics retailers sell this type of device.

Plug a composite video cable into the composite port of the adapter.

Plug a VGA cable into the VGA port of the adapter.

Plug the other end of the VGA cable into the laptop’s VGA output.

Plug the other end of the composite video cable into your TV’s composite video input.

Connect the laptop headphone jack to a separate sound system to play audio from somewhere other than the laptop’s speakers.

Connecting Using Coaxial

If your TV features a coaxial input, you’ll need to purchase a VGA-to-coaxial adapter. Most electronics retailers carry this type of device.

Plug a coaxial cable into the coaxial port of the adapter.

Plug a VGA cable into the VGA port of the adapter.

Plug the other end of the VGA cable into the laptop’s VGA output.

Plug the other end of the coaxial cable into your TV’s coaxial input.

Connect the laptop headphone jack to a separate sound system to play audio from somewhere other than the laptop’s speakers.

Please note, Playing Blu-ray DVDs on a display other than an HDTV will result in a decrease in video quality.

Also please note that the Sony Vaio TT and AW laptops feature Blu-ray recordable drives, which let you burn data to high-capacity Blu-ray Discs; the other four laptops here feature optical drives that can read Blu-ray Discs while having the ability to write to DVD and CD formats.

Future versions of Apple’s iPhone may come equipped with the smartphone version of a LoJack car-recovery system, a patent application filed by the computer giant suggests. The application details a system that can take photos of an unauthorized user, pinpoint his or her location, or even detect the user’s heartbeat patterns after the phone owner reports it lost or stolen.

The technology, which can also be applied to Wi-Fi-equipped iPods and iPads, could notify Apple or the user if the SIM card is removed or if multiple failed log-ins occur.

The Aug. 19 application drew notice in the tech media for its reference to jailbreaking — the process of owners modifying an iPhone to run applications not approved by Apple — as one of the red flags triggering remote action. But while the system might alert Apple if an iPhone has been jailbroken, there’s not much the company can do about it.

The Library of Congress ruled last month that, despite Apple’s protests, “Computer programs that enable wireless telephone handsets to execute software applications” are exempt from the prohibition against circumventing technological measures that control access to copyrighted works.

That’s as long as the modification is “for the sole purpose of enabling interoperability of such applications, when they have been lawfully obtained, with computer programs on the telephone handset.” So the process is legal, although it voids Apple’s warranty.

Remote Wipe

Previous tracking solutions for wayward iPhones have involved apps that continuously transmit the iPhone’s data via GPS — which only work if the program is running in the background — and one that sends tweets with the phone’s coordinates to a Twitter account. But neither enables remote locking or deletion of data.

Apple used a remote wipe to deactivate a prototype of the iPhone 4 that was lost in a California bar and ended up in the hands of a tech blog last spring.

The trademark application, entitled Systems And Methods for Identifying Unauthorized Users of an Electronic Device, outlines signs of misuse and possible responses.

“When an unauthorized user is detected, various safety measures can be taken,” the application says. “For example, information related to the identity of the unauthorized user, the unauthorized user’s operation of the electronic device, or the current location of the electronic device can be gathered. As another example, functions of the electronic device can be restricted.”

“In some embodiments, the owner of the electronic device can be notified of the unauthorized user by sending an alert notification through any suitable medium, such as, for example, a voice mail, e-mail, or text message.”

Big Brother?

The system could also potentially be used to track the activities of an authorized user. Collecting data on customers’ phone usage is increasingly as easy as it is appealing to carriers, manufacturers, developers and advertisers.

Last week the world’s biggest phone maker, Finland-based Nokia, announced that it will acquire a company to monitor the use of applications and web-site visits on its phones, ostensibly in a bid to determine which apps are the most popular.

“It’s the way the industry is moving,” said wireless analyst Kirk Parsons of J.D. Power and Associates. “The critical element is getting the customer’s permission to sign up and participate in any tracking program or app. Some customers won’t mind, while others will.”

Parsons said that while “the applications are endless as to what could be used in this potential service application,” increasing concern about electronic privacy by Congress and others makes it likely that companies will need customers’ consent to track their usage.

Apple seemed to anticipate concern about privacy when it unveiled iOS 4 earlier this year. The iPhone operating system places a green arrow over applications that transmit location data to give users an option to turn them off.

The world’s two biggest personal computer makers are locked in a pricey struggle over which can move away from the PC business the fastest.
Hewlett-Packard Co. offered $1.5 billion on Monday for 3Par Inc., a company whose data-storage machines are designed for “cloud computing,” or delivering services over the Internet. HP’s rival, Dell Inc., last week offered about $400 million less for 3Par, and many analysts and investors expect Dell to make a sweeter counteroffer.

HP’s offer comes just weeks after HP CEO Mark Hurd’s ouster over inaccurate expense reports and shows that the company is committed to continuing to grow through acquisitions, even without him at the helm.

The willingness to spend so much money on such an obscure company underscores how aggressively both companies are about moving into more profitable markets than PCs.

Cloud computing is one of those markets.

It has caught on because many companies aren’t buying their own computer servers for certain tasks anymore. Instead, they’re paying to have software they would have stored on those machines delivered to them over the Internet.

Companies such as Dell and HP are trying to take advantage of the trend by offering those kinds of cloud-computing services directly on a subscription basis, along with the equipment and software for customers to build their own cloud systems.

One problem, though, is the machines needed to run such operations are designed to be shared by multiple customers. Those machines need to ramp up or scale down their output quickly based on demand. Storage machines offered by 3Par could help cut the cost of operating those services because they are designed for such tasks.

Dell began the bidding contest last week by offering to buy 3Par for $18 per share, or $1.13 billion. HP responded by offering a third more, or $24 per share, for a total of $1.5 billion.

Investors, believing Dell will make a counteroffer, sent 3Par shares above HP’s offer price. Shares of 3Par closed Monday at $26.09, up $8.05, or 45 percent.

But many analysts are worried that the price for 3Par has gotten too high, meaning HP or Dell would be overpaying for the company. HP shares fell 81 cents, or 2 percent, to $39.04. Dell shares were down 13 cents, or 1.1 percent, to $11.94.

Analyst Ben Reitzes with Barclays Capital called 3Par “a very good fit for HP strategically” but said the timing and price “may raise a few concerns.”

Shaw Wu with Kaufman Bros. said 3Par’s shares have traded at around $10 for most of the year, so some investors are wondering why HP is now offering more than double that price.

“The biggest winners here are clearly 3Par employees and shareholders,” he wrote.

The tussle over 3Par comes at a time both companies are dealing with CEO troubles and badly need a win on Wall Street.

HP is eager to prove that it hasn’t missed a beat since the abrupt departure of Hurd, who engineered more than $20 billion in acquisitions in his five years atop HP. HP’s stock has fallen 16 percent since Hurd’s resignation, erasing about $17 billion in shareholder wealth.

Hurd resigned Aug. 6 in a dispute with HP’s board over how to handle a sexual-harassment allegation against him, something the board decided was meritless but felt it had to disclose anyway. As part of that probe, the board found he had filed inaccurate expense reports connected to his accuser. Hurd says he didn’t do his own expenses, and that any errors were inadvertent.

Hurd had been instrumental in moving HP into markets beyond PCs and printer ink. One of his biggest bets was paying $13 billion for Electronic Data Systems, an outsourcing company. That deal made HP look a lot more like IBM Corp., which has milked its software and services model for better profits than the PC business it sold off.

HP, Dell and other PC makers are victims of their own success. The companies that made personal computers affordable and ubiquitous now have to lure new buyers with rock-bottom prices. Prices for parts, meanwhile, have increased this year, putting even more of a squeeze on the computer makers’ profits.

There are signs the deal was being explored at HP before Hurd’s departure.

In a letter Monday to 3Par CEO David Scott – who previously worked as a manager in HP’s storage division – HP revealed that it had made an earlier offer for 3Par.

That offer wasn’t made public. HP wouldn’t say when the offer was made, or how much it was for. Dave Donatelli, an HP executive vice president, said HP has been looking at buying 3Par “for a period of time.”

Jayson Noland, an analyst with Robert W. Baird & Co., said HP’s earlier offer was likely rebuffed because the price was too low.

While HP looks for a new CEO, Dell needs to shore up support for the CEO it has.

Michael Dell has been embroiled in a scandal about undisclosed payments the company took from Intel Corp. for allegedly avoiding chips from an Intel rival. Dell and the company settled Securities and Exchange Commission charges on that matter last month, without admitting wrongdoing.

Dell has lost the faith of some investors. Two weeks ago, investors holding a quarter of the company’s shares did not cast votes to re-elect him to the board of directors. A year ago, he was re-elected with 98 percent of the shares in his favor.

Dell can afford to bid up 3Par a bit, with almost as much cash on hand as the much larger HP.

Dell declined comment on the company’s next move, while 3Par said its board was reviewing the offer.

The HP-Dell struggle has shades of earlier duels.

The recession has given cash-rich companies an opportunity to scoop up new technologies – or steal them away from rivals – relatively cheaply.

For more than a month last summer, a fierce bidding contest between EMC Corp. and rival NetApp Inc. for a company called Data Domain Inc. lit up the data-storage industry. EMC muscled its way into acquisition talks and eventually outbid NetApp to walk away with Data Domain for $33.50 per share. That was nearly double the price of Data Domain’s shares when NetApp first announced its intent to buy the company.

And last spring, Oracle Corp. beat out IBM and won the right to buy slumping computer-server maker Sun Microsystems for $7.4 billion.

The iPhone is now an iconic smart phone. Even though having one doesn’t mean what it meant before (that you’re unique, smart, rich, etc.), it is still a great tool to have. Aside from the obvious functions like calling, sending and receiving messages, taking photos and listening to music, you can do a lot of other useful things like surf the Web, read your emails, watch videos, stream live footage to the Internet, edit documents and manage your tasks and projects.
The iPhone is a popular cellular device from Apple Inc. The iPhone enables users to set security passwords to keep unauthorized people from accessing data on the phone or making calls. If you know your password, it takes only three steps to unlock the screen. If you don’t know your passcode, then you’ll need to restore the iPhone using iTunes software. The latter option requires that you create a backup of your phone data. Otherwise, you’ll lose all the data on the phone.

Basic Unlock Without Restore

Press the power button on the bottom of the iPhone.

Slide the slider bar on the screen to the right to bring up the password entry screen.

Enter your password.

Unlock Via iPhone Restore

Start iTunes, making sure you are connected to the Internet.

Connect your iPhone to your computer with the USB connector cable.

Hold down the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons on the iPhone until the Apple logo appears. Release the Sleep/Wake button but keep holding down the Home button. The iPhone eventually should show you a connector icon pointing toward the iTunes logo to show the iPhone is ready to sync.

Locate your iPhone under the Devices heading in iTunes and select it.

Click the Summary tab. Select “Restore” option and then click “Back Up” when prompted if you haven’t yet backed up the iPhone data. Click “Restore.” Wait until your iPhone displays a message that says “iPhone is activated.” iTunes will prompt you to set up the iPhone. (If iTunes doesn’t do this, select the Sync option.) Choose the “Restore from the backup of” option and choose the latest backup you have. Click “Continue.” Your previous passcode should now be wiped, allowing you to reset it.

This gives users the ability to view those videos at their convenience. However, once a video is removed from the website or moved from the main page, it can be particularly difficult to locate again. Some videos are worth downloading, but not every website provides a download feature. Luckily, there is a program that gives you the ability to watch and download videos directly from any Web page. To download the MSN video you will need the following tools and media, such as Mozilla Firefox, FLV Player, Web Video Downloader, Firefox Extension. Just follow the following steps :

Download the FLV Player and the Web Video Downloader Firefox Extension from the websites listed in the Resources section.

Open Mozilla Firefox and check to see if the Web video downloader is installed properly. You should see an icon that says “Video 1″ to the right of the Google Search box along the top. Click this icon to open the side bar on the left side of the screen.

Navigate to the MSN video you want to download. Because most Internet videos are Flash based, the Web Video Downloader program will recognize this video as one that is able to be downloaded and display a message.

Click “Okay” to begin the download of the video.

Wait for the video to fully download before opening the FLV player and watching the video.

Though Facebook is a very popular social networking site, it is definitely not one of the easiest sites to use! Although Facebook is feature rich, the user interface can be fairly complicated. Do not worry, here is the most straight forward way to upload photos to Facebook.

Facebook, a well-known social media website, allows friends and family to socialize with one another with a few simple clicks. Updating your status and photos will keep your friends and family up-to-date with what you are doing. However, users face difficulties with pictures that upload slowly. Using programs such as PhotoSurfer, Bloom, Fotobounce and ArtResize Portable 1.1.0 will decrease the time it takes to upload photos. PhotoSurfer has the most user-friendly interface and allows anyone to use it for free.

Open the PhotoSurfer application.

Click the “Add” tab on the top left-hand corner. Click the “Add Photos to PhotoSurfer From:” option on the drop-down menu.

Click to select the option that indicates from where the new photos will be coming. Select from among “Camera,” “Folder on hard drive,” “Clipboard from ‘Copy’,” “CD/DVD” or “Removable Device.” After selecting the option, click the “Next” button.

Select the picture from the device chosen. Press and hold the “Ctrl” key to select multiple photos. Click “OK” after selecting the photos. Your pictures will upload onto the screen behind the wizard. Select the “No, I will view later” option on the screen. Click “Next.” The wizard will disappear.

Click the checkbox, located on the lower left-hand corner of each picture, on the pictures you would like to uploade onto Facebook.

Click the “Share” tab on the upper right-hand corner of the screen. Scroll over to “Share online.” Another scroll menu will appear. Scroll over to “Facebook,” then click on “Upload Pictures.”

Click the “OL” button, and select the quality of the photos. Lower-quality photos tend to upload faster; however, the makers of PhotoSurfer suggest using higher-quality settings if you want to post more professional-looking pictures.

Click the “Upload” button, and fill in your Facebook information

Garmin Nuvi 200, This affordable entry-level personal travel assistant comes with preloaded maps for the continental U.S., Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. For even more mapping options, nüvi 250 features preloaded maps for all of North America, while the transatlantic nüvi 270 includes preloaded maps for both continents. Like all nuvi 200-series members, the 200 features an easy-to-use colorful touchscreen and ultra-slim design–perfect for everyday navigation. Simply touch the color sunlight-readable screen to enter a destination, and nüvi takes you there with 2-D or 3-D maps and turn-by-turn voice directions. In addition, nüvi 200 accepts custom points of interest (POIs) such as school zones and safety cameras and lets you set proximity alerts to warn you of upcoming POIs.
Using your Garmin Nuvi to store pictures can be entertaining for family and friends on a long road trip. At some point, you may want to remove or change the pictures that you have on your Nuvi. Unfortunately, you cannot remove the pictures from the GPS itself, but in conjunction with your computer, your Garmin becomes more than just a map and navigation system.
You will need Mini USB cable for transfering data.
1.Connect your Garmin to the computer using the USB/mini USB cable.
2.Open “My Computer” in the “Start” menu.
3.Double-click the new “Removable Disk” drive to open the files on your Garmin.
4.Select all the pictures you want to remove.
5.Right-click the pictures and select “Delete” to remove the pictures.
