A butterfly basically consists of three shapes, a triangle, oval and a cone. So what you need to do is sketch out these shapes like below and then position them like in sample 2.

Step 2:

The shapes are to be used as a guide and now that you have the basic shape down you can start to add detail. So now what you need to do is erase the lines that overlap like in sample 3, and using the shapes as a guide you can draw in your own wing and body shapes.

Step 3:

Now erase the guide and add a pattern within the wings like in sample 6.

Step 4:

It is important to have a clean image before you start to add color.  So you may want to consider drawing around the whole image with a much neater line and erase any unwanted lines or marks, like in sample 7.

The first one is pretty thorough, so be sure you’ll watch it carefully, as it explains very well how you should hand draw a fire . It treats aspects like shape, layers, rebel flames, etc. So, just watch it (the clip bellow) .

The second one is an easy guide on drawing flames, including a couple of tips on hot to draw hot-rod and tribal flames.

And the third one is a speed drawing video with graffiti letter on fire. Pretty pretty cool, but kind of complicated too.

All these should have helped you get started on drawing fire and flames. In the next episodes well teach you how to draw tribal flames, we’ll have some step by step guides, we’ll show you how to draw skulls on fire and lots of others. So stay tuned, we plan to make you the best at drawing flames .

 
Learn to draw Spongebob with step by step guides

But let’s just get drawing and start with the easy guide.

Step 1: Draw a cubish shape, slightly bended towards the back and add helping guidelines over it like in the picture below. They will help you position face elements and clothes on your future to be Spongebob drawing. Make these lines with a pencil so you’ll be able to delete them later on.

Step 2: Add arms and legs to your character. Don’t forget to sketch the shoes. And then focus on the face, by drawing those big eyes Spongebob has, the nose and the big mouth, with the two teeth you all know from the cartoons.

Step 2

Step 3: Time to draw the clothes: tie, pants, belt, shirt and socks. All these should be placed like in the picture bellow. And later on, the details: eyelashes, pupils, etc . And finally, don’t forget about the spots.

Step 4: And we’re almost done. In this final step you’ll have to delete the helping guidelines drawn at step 1and add shadows and details (or even color) to your Spongebob sketch. And that’s about it. You drawing should look like the one below. Does it?

We’re going to have a step by step guide first, and then a couple of videos, some for beginners and some for the more advanced drawers. So, in the end all these should help you draw a cat as you want it.

Now, there’s nothing much to say before we’ll move one, so let’s just get drawing that cat.

The step by step guide

First, you start by drawing a guideline like in the picture above: an oval and a cross over it. That will help you draw first the shape of the head and then the face elements. But before drawing those elements, you should place you cat’s years. Then, wotk on the mouth, tiny nose and eyes.

You should get something like in the first picture above. Now it’s time to continue with the body. Draw an oval just under the head and continue it with a carrot shaped sketch like above. Now, you’ll also have to draw the unseen parts of the body. As you can see in the third picture from the ones above, it’s that peared shaped thingy.

Now, with the help of those guides, draw the legs of your cat, and don’t forget about the tail… Finally, you just have to color your drawing.

You should get something like the last cat in the picture above. If you didn’t, just keep trying. And that’s about it with our step by step how to draw a cat guide (with pictures coming from here)

And now, let’s take a look at a couple of videos.

This first one teaches you how to draw a cat on your computer, with the help of Photoshop.

And this second one shows you how to draw a cat on paper, the plain classic method But it’s meant for small kids only.

And … that’s about it. Hopefully this was helpful for you and you learned something about drawing cats. Just keep practicing and you’ll get better at it.

Fist, we’re going to start with a step by step guide and then we’ll continue with a couple of videos. And in the end, stay tuned for the bonus.

But for now, get your paper and pencils ready and let’s draw!

Step 1: Sketch the basic skeleton of your batman character just as you can see in the first picture above: the arms and legs, torso, head and the cloak.

Step 2: Complete the cloak. Draw the upper part of the legs like in the picture, add the belt and the horns Batman has on his head mask.

Step 3: Work on the lower part of the legs by drawing the boots and calves. Then work on the torso, adding muscles and details to that belt drawn at step 2. And finally add more details to the cloak.

Step 4: Work some more on the cloak. In this guide, you’ll have to keep adding details to the cloak till the end. In fond, what will Batman be without it Anyway, after that, work on the bat symbol on the chest. Try to make it look like in the picture above. And you’re almost done…

Steps 5-6: Well, this is how your Batman should look like, both black and white or in colors One more thing: the pictures in this guide came from here.

And now, the videos as i promised. These should also help you learn a couple of things about drawing Batman.

We tried to put together a how to draw a dragon guide for quite a while, but we only managed to do it now. Cause, even though lots of people want to know how to draw dragons, there are quite a few quality guides online. That’s why in this post we’ll try to gather them together, by showing you a couple of step by step guides with pictures and then a couple of videos.

Our purpose for this post is to show beginners how to draw the basic elements of a dragonn and how to draw a couple of head stances. We’re also working on a more detailed guide where we’ll give tips to the advanced drawers, but that’s yet to be finished now. Will be available in a couple of weeks though, so stay tuned.

But now, let’s get drawing. First we have a step by step guide on how to draw a dragon, thanks to Frozen on Deviantart. You can see it bellow (it’s quite a big picture so make sure you wait for it to load).

 And now another guide on how to draw dragon heads in different stances, thanks to Tarjcia.

I hope you could understand a couple of things about drawing dragons from the guides above. If not, perhaps you should also check out the videos bellow: the first one is for beginners and the second one presents a more advanced technique.

That being said, enough with the small talk; get your paper and pencil ready and let’s get drawing. Do you see the big puppy picture bellow? That’s what you’re going to learn in the step by step guide.

First steps: draw sketch-lines for you puppy’s framework

Start by drawing two circles: a bigger one for the head and a smaller one for the body of your puppy. Draw a slight-left curved cross over the big circle, that’s going to help you position face elements. It’s left curved because, as you can see in the picture above, the face of your puppy is turned right a little bit. Finally, sketch the neck , legs and tail.

Second step: draw the head

Draw two big eyes in the top corners of the cross drawn at step 1 like you can see in the picture. Then draw the big nose and the years. Add the top of the head and focus on the mouth. The picture bellow will show you better what you have to do in order to get this puppy look as it should.

Final step: Draw the body and add finishing details

In this final step you have to focus on the body: draw the legs, tail, neck, etc. And finally finish those big eyes that make a puppy drawing so expressive. And that’s it. I’m sure you’re drawing looks like the one in the pic, right?

Drawing cartoon people is not as hard as you might think once you get a couple of basic ideas. Why, you may ask? Because each people has the same symmetrical structure: body, face, arms, legs, etc . You have to learn first how to position these elements in order to reach a natural position for your character. And from there on, there’s just details. We’re going to teach you in this cartoon people drawing guide exactly that: tips on how to position body elements.

As I’ve said, you need to start simply when approaching your cartoons, by sketching the outline for the body of your character. And there are two different approaches to do that.

• the ovals method: like you can see in the picture bellow, try to sketch the body using oval shapes and try to make the position of the elements as natural as possible. Might not get it right from the first attempt, but you just have to keep practicing. 

• the sticks method: instead of ovals, you use sticks. This method works better when you need to give your character a certain pose or when you want to draw a special bone’s position. I also find it a lot easier to add details later on with this method, as i don’t get confused by too many guidelines. The picture below is a good example of this method.

Once you’ve managed to master these techniques, drawing cartoon characters will be easier. If you’re already experienced in drawing faces and clothes, it would be even easier. If not, you just have to keep trying.

Of course, once you’ve reached a certain level you will be able to draw freely, without using any sketch lines. It might take you a while to get here and i don’t recommend trying this if you’re a beginner. But I’ll still show you a coupe of videos with how cartoon people can be drawn by pros. Check them out below.

Draw a perfect shape with a coin + a ruler

If you’re a perfectionist and wish to draw a perfect shaped heart on a piece of paper, you can use the coin and ruler method. With the help of a coin, you draw the two round parts of the heart and then draw the lower part. More about this subject here.

But first, we have our usual step by step drawing guide. It’s about cars, of course, and you’re going to learn how to draw the car in the picture below. You might have never heard about it, but it’s called a Dacia. Looks pretty cool, don’t you think?

First steps: Now that you know what to draw, we’re going to start from the right part of the car, by sketching the wheels and the floor line. Tighten those lines once you’ve decided the length of your car and then advance to sketching the body: draw the trunk, side-windows and the top by using guidelines like in the picture. They will help you draw a well proportioned car in the end.

Advancing: Draw the hood and then focus on the front part of the car: draw lights, front grid and bumpers. Now, you car’s basic lines are sketched. All you have to do is go back to every element and add details, like tires and rims to the wheels, what you can see inside the car, stickers on the doors and many others. In the end, you should get something like in the picture from the beginning of this guide.

This guide (with the pictures from here ) was pretty basic, we admit that, but there’re more interesting things here. First, a nice video that will show you hot to draw a Hummer.

As the videos says, there seems to be a great book that will teach you how to draw cars. Perhaps you should check it up right here.
