Doctor asked him, Are you the father?
He wispered yes with a slight quiver.
He saw me glistning gold under warm light
He was scared, so I held his finger tight

Dad asked me, how was it inside your mother?
I cried louder saying it was much better.
He beamed, you are daddy' princess right?
Ah Dad! I have just arrived. Can't we just wait?

Dad, take off the my cap, it is hot summer
I would sleep good without that rather.
My new dresses? before I wake up and fight
He stacked all of them in my sight.

Many said that I looked like my mother
I winked at him, inside me I am you, father!
Tell me stories now, I gestured him to sit next
You know, I am busy sleeping in the night

Mom kissed me while sleeping together
wispered to Dad that I was such a dear.
She asked me, whom do I love the most?
I was like, clique mom! Is this you best?

When I speak, I will shout loud and clear
that I love both Mom & Dad forever!
Enough of poetry, let me sleep now. Goodnight!
Sun needs me dawn coz, I am the brightest of bright

Marriage is always an event which is very near to one’s heart. So, many friends of mine read my previous article Marriage Mania and after that, there were many discussions that went on, with my school friends, with my college friends and with my colleagues. The talks filled with fear, expectations, experience and excitement. I am venting out those bottled up expressions and experiences from the otiose and yet essential talks I witnessed.

A friend or relative’s marriage is the hub that gives access our imaginations, expectations and fear. It is when most of our friends get together. The common phrases that we hear in the marriage hall would be, “Nice couple right! – Bloody lucky chap – When is your marriage man? – Who is next in our group? – look at her, no-no-not her, the one in pink”. Along with this, there is a series of thoughts that crawl into every marriageable boy/girl’s mind and remain unexpressed. “When will I get married? Will I get a pretty/nice girl/boy? Will I get adjusted his family or will she with my family? Where is she/where is he?” It is an endless saga.

Just like the sensation of flowing water on our feet even after we come out of the river or like the butterfly effect in our stomach before a viva, everyone would talk about marriages after attending others marriage or before they are ripened enough to fall off. We all talk about expectations and fear. Many friends of mine expressed their expectations as specifications of a project. It started with the gray scale value of skin tone to the almond eyes, with silkiness of an open hair to the dress to be worn. Some hoped for interest in the music or art, some with the dressing sense. Some guys hoped her to wear red-pink-yellow-green-any colored trousers and girls strictly said no red-yellow-pink pants. Some specified qualifications and domain of work and some put a range to the height. It was obvious these myriad expectations were filled with fear. Fear of uncertainty.

Other discussions oozed out the experiences. The flood of photographs that were claimed to be suitable for him/her by parents which he/she culled out. Unexpected calls from parents to come home to attend an interview and the compulsion to dress perfectly for your scan from top to bottom. Suppress irksomeness in answering all those inquisitive talks which are known and yet we stumble to answer. “Beta, do you know to cook? O-o other than Maggie – Show me your feet? – Do you want to work after marriage? – Will you have multiple projects in your company – Do your parents move in with you– How is your pay? –Will you go abroad?” Along with this like a combo offer, one got to explain rejections or gulp the hurt of being rejected. Elders would say this is how marriages happen and we would know after our children.

If this is such a painful and tedious process, why to marry? In support to this, a friend of mine mentioned that marriage was not a logical entity. All the wants and needs that are derived from marriage can as well be derived by other means. Then his question was, why put a boundary called as marriage?
I believe that marriage is neither a logical thing nor just an event but an idea. It is an efficacy to bring out completeness in a person’s life. It is the same completeness that nature has bestowed upon us. By filling a man’s heart with courage and asking him to protect her. By gifting delicacy to a woman and asking her to heal him with a touch. Completeness by his broad eye brows with her elegant eye lashes, his rough stubble with her soft palm, his commanding voice with her cajoling tone, his broad chest with her conjuring fingers, his ability to impress with her inevitable laughter and his executions with her plans. Marriage is our convention with nature’s law to suit our psychological, social and biological needs. Marriage is an attempt to complete oneself.

In the year 2000 when I was in 8th Standard, we sat on the edge of stone pavement of our school to listen to the story of a friend of mine who had runaway from the school and was caught and brought back. He narrated his adventure, and the lines that caught my attention were these. He said, "I thought of Shobha Ma'm and was scared of English test paper. I was scared so much that I thought of committing suicide. But later I thought about death, what will it like to be dead. Where will I be? Will I go to heaven? What is heaven? But Earth is round, we have a Solar system? Where is this God." He had thought beyond his age. He had cried thinking of universe. He forgot English test paper results. He thought of 'nothingness' of human in this universe. Most of the time, these thoughts comes to our mind. What are we doing here? Why are we struggling so much? Who are we?

Somebody has truly said, an idle mind is a devil's workshop. The same thought strikes my mind whenever I am alone, when I sit on a bench in a park or when I loaf around a busy street. I get fascinated by the power of an indispensable part of our body, The brain. I think of the emotions exhibited by it. Our ability to perceive them. Thinking is a vital part of our life, it defines our race. But the thing that matter is "how you think". Some think, life is a heaven and some other as hell. Some people think that life is nothing and they choose sainthood, some go insane, some die and some cease to live. They all fail to admire the greatest gift a mankind has been bestowed with, To feel. To feel everything that is around us. Our submission to Navarasa. Love. Joy. Wonder. Peace. Anger. Courage. Sadness. Fear. Disgust. And I was told in my school days, one who want to attain Moksa or liberation should forfeit submission to Navarasa. I never understood the logic behind it. Isn't it obvious that we are filled with these emotions for a reason? To live.

They say, the key to happiness is peace. People who go in search of peace believe it is implicit to let behind all the attachments, feelings and materialistic belongings. They turn saints, they meditate, they rein their unbridled mind. They attain happiness by imbibing 'nothingness' into their soul. Hollowness with nothingness would seem like liberation, hence they preach saying it is the final destination. Others follow them. I wonder, how can one not feel the beautiful emotions that we exhibit every now and then? How can one go after nothingness by letting go everything that we possess? The desire, hunger, anger on the loved one, fear of losing, taste of sugar, tickling sensation by a baby saliva on your neck, chills entering cold water, salty taste of your tear, itches giving your pleasure, goosebumps you get hearing the anthem, heart race when you fight someone, butterflies in the stomach when you are caught, ecstasy when her hairs strike your face, gratitude in a needy's eyes after a help, pain that you withstand after your fall, sting of an ant, scent of first rain, sound of tides, eagerness to live and fear of death. Emotions define us. That is what we are, then why let go of them.

The same emotions turn catastrophic if handled carelessly. When we fail to balance or weigh them, we wallow up in misery. Balance among victory and defeat, joy and sorrow, apathy and sympathy, courage and cowardice, etc and ~etc. It is always easier said that done, it has be practiced. When everything is balanced, peace lies around you like a center of gravity. Even if one fail to balance, let it flow through you. They give you experience & teach you to live better. There is a Kannada
proverb, Kasta manushyanige barde mattenu marakke baratta?- Will ever misery afflict a tree instead of a man?
According to physics every object that has mass possess gravity. Gravity has its boundary and it makes a difference in its boundary. If Sun would have thought itself as a tiny star lost amongst the billions and wouldn't have shined. There would have been neither I nor you. Gravity in life is a simple concept that stitches us together and lets you make a difference with your surrounding, with you loved ones, with your followers and with yourself. We involuntarily obey it by impressing people, by expressing our thought, by spreading happiness, by sharing stories, by making history, by sticking around together, by living and letting other to live. And by believing that you have an universe with yourself as The Center.

There used to be a time when I met my friends, I discussed about the books to refer. Then came a time when we discussed about what colleges to join and what courses to pursue. Again was a time, when we discussed on our jobs. Here comes the time again with a heavy load on its back to be discussed. The marriage.

And this so-called marriageable age group has been a pray. The story unveils with every Spartan returning from home after a holiday, every Cinderella with a new shoe in the marriage hall, every dude struck with a blade of receding hairline, every cutie being strangled by an extra layer of fat, every nerd who is missing something real in life, every mamma's boy and daddy's girl think or at least forced to think on one thing. One destination. The Marriage.

There are three groups prevailing in this age-group. First one says "I am interested", second says "Well, I gotta get settled first" and the third group says "I don't care. Actually, I don't know." It is quite ironic to see, people who show interest in marriage are neither supported from their parent nor from their upcoming spouse. And second one want to pile up some more dirt in their life in the name of success or being settled, and meanwhile they would get an extra attention from everyone else in the universe asking them to get married. Meanwhile, the third is the one causing chaos amongst the other groups 'by getting married and by posting pictures'. This acts as a source of distraction and frustration.

Marriage is like a virus. A virus which lurks on your back until you hit a suitable age. As the time arrives, it wakes up and multiplies and afflicts you. Then again multiplies further and haunts you. Finally, takes you down. That is the moment you hear a cacophony of deafening sound saying, "Wish you a happy married life." Then the virus deserts you after a while and jumps on your child's back.
Of course, marriage is not a bad thing. It is an en-capsule for our existence on this universe. To preserve our posterity. Marriage is a best thing in a person's life unless it is handled-without-care or handled-with-an-extra-care. The best things always get extreme attention. Well, if one ponders upon this and say, 'Why do we give so much attention to this event?' I guess the answer would on the fact that we get married (mostly) only ONCE in a life-time. And to spend your money, time, intellect and yourselves with someone who-is-not-you is kinda hard to imagine. But eventually everybody wants to get married because it is a best way share your bad and good days with someone very close to you. And of course one can have a great fun too!

The experiences that are shared and exhibited every day from our friends and people around us puts us in a great trepidation. We look at the newly married and build our own opinion on their choice which are always incorrect because we are not them. Some launch lavish marriages, some choose to be simple, some fall in love and some are scared to be in love, some obey their parents and some defy them, some go after beauty some choose character, some are truly happy and some pretend, some are excited and some are scared. Every individual is different so is her/his taste/requirement/priorities. So one should always do what is right for them.
Go now and take your own time. Fall in love. Get married. (or Vice Versa). Welcome the New Change. Because Time always changes, asking us to adapt to it.

It came to me as an impromptu invitation to be part of an adventurous cycle trip from my colleague Reyaz. This event plan was spread like a wild fire amongst other colleagues, with their friends and with their friend's friends. It summed up to a strength of 18 initially, including 4 in a car as rescue-team. Dealt with several mail-threads and reminders, the plan ended up as a ride to Manchanabele from IISC Bangalore with latter being the point for our rendezvous on the planned night.
Amidst sleepy feeling we (I, Bheem & Ani with Vikas, Raghu & Naveen) kick-started around 10:40PM and reached IISc Gate precisely at 11:30PM as planned.
The cycle mechanic assembled cycles, we tested one after the other. Bugs on brakes/pedals/wheels/gears were reported & were fixed. Seats with out cushion was accentuated by all, but still we were helpless. It was a major bug that was adamant at taking us down after a few hours. It was temporarily decorated with towels, blankets etc., to save our haunches. We finally started pedaling after an incessant testing around 1:00AM. I realized that I was actually missing my motor-bike. I was either trying to accelerate, look at an imaginary mirror for rear view or honk with the cycle. It took a while for me to get accustomed to it. We had not even completed a Km and there was Naveen fixing his pedal which had come out. Turning the bolt into the pedal was fixed temporarily by a local engineer but later we found out that Naveen had tampered the pedal with dents as he had implemented fix-it-by-hitting-a-stone algorithm. Even the slow moving lorries showed their back by overtaking us unlike the one happens with motor bikes. The initial ride itself is good enough to give you a little massage to your wrists, shoulders and lower-back. Well, you will get used to all of these in a while. Then the pedaling turned smooth until you rest and pedal back. Out of 18 guys among us, we were parted into 4 different groups, in the search of the destination. Kengeri was the first milestone and we had taken four possible routes. I and Ani took the one which was uphill. Due to our helmets, dogs barked and even chased us. We were pedaling at tortoise's pace on uphill no matter how many dogs were running after us. Actually, we had only that much of energy. We both pedaled fast because of the initial zeal and reached Kengeri. We sat near an ATM center and waited for other three teams to assemble. We waited and slept, there was no other thought as we just needed a space to park ourselves.
After an hour of waiting, we got to know that all other teams were reaching our first milestone. We started again. It was then we realized how badly our pelvic regions were damaged. Even the slightest touch of the bike seat reminded us of our parts. Then something amazing happened.

I(looking at surroundings): This is a very nice area man. Developed a lot.
Ani: Yes, this is old, but there is other area which is much better and newly developed. Come this side dogs might catch.
I: Yeah sure. This is very dark man, can't see a thing.
Ani: Careful, on this flyover there is a pothole. It is very big and bad. I am not sure if it is repaired now.
I(riding very slowly): Sure... Ouch!!

I was on ground. Ani witnessed my fall and in another second he too was on ground with his leg struck between handle and brake. We had no idea what had happened and apparently we were the victims to the pothole. We met the rescue car-team and other lost teammates and started again after refreshments and some taunts on my great fall. It was a hard time pedaling on a highway. Wherever there was no light, we pedaled blindly. Whilst we halted for a cup of tea around 4.00AM, Naveen's cycle had given up its pedal. So he had to hop onto the car by parking his broken cycle at a local shop. Lucky guy. Reyaz was pedaling with a team enthusiastically that he had overtaken the right turn we were supposed to reach Manchanabele. He had to find a longer route to reach the destination. Bheem's cycle chain was broken and so we pushed our cycles to the entry of the Manchanabele road and waited for yet-again-lost guys. We were exhausted so much that, I had actually slept on Karnataka's flag pole base watching the sky. It was early in the morning when people came and woke us up reminding me of the pending nightmare. Most of us felt like going back home or to sleep on the ground. I got into the car donating my bike to Zameer and reached the destination. After reaching, the first thing that we did was to install a tent and sleep. I had not realized until other cyclist reached us. I woke up from the deep slumber after extreme heat from the greenhouse effect.
It was then the time for swimming. Chilly water on a scorching sunlight was eccentric as it gave us anti-amphibian feel (stay neither on land nor in water). After a while, water was soothing and took away our pain/exhaustion. Some swam, some tried, some dived, some watched, some splashed and some bathed. We even had breakfast in the lake. Hot idli and fried rice with a cold Fanta was lifesaving. We decided to play games which eventually ended up into jokes. After all these events, the time was just 11:00AM. It was disheartening, we had felt as if it was mid-afternoon. The sunlight drove us from the place, in search of a shady area. That is how we began our retreat from the destination after eating/drinking a lot of things present in the car.

A complete uphill with scorching heat was good enough to give us mild sun-stroke. Sun and Gravity were our greatest enemies then. It took us a long 2 hours just to pedal 4Km. The journey was simple, pedal for 50meters, find a tree, park bikes and rest. Start and repeat it. Pedaling did not work clambering the uphill. So, we pushed the bikes unless there was a down-slope. We drank and ate and drank and drank a lot of fluids, ironically nothing came out. We had lunch at a local restaurant enjoying mockery from the people around on our greatest endeavor and started again. After a short ride, we found Big-Banyan tree. Aha, it was the best place with a lot of shades and Greenery. We rested in a sequential manner. After this 50+Km journey one thing was obvious that we were not in a state to ride any further. We somehow cajoled the cycle owner to come and collect his cycles at Mysore road itself.

At Banyan-tree we witnessed a SERIOUS fun amongst tired-of-waiting-rescue-car-team and tired-of-pedaling-under-sun-bike-team. It seemed ugly and yet enjoyable. The final bug stopped at one thing, non-coordination i.e., at me while I smiling and enjoying the fight. The transcript was similar to this,

Only thing you had to do was to wait. We waited and we are friends not some service providers. We missed you while cycling. Can you pedal without lunch in this heat? Well, how would I know, I have never done one. If you want to go, then GO, but without the car. Then, drop me to the bus stop. There it is. Okay. Okay. Angry Face. Angry Face.

I had had enough fun and jumped in and terminated it. After the fusillade of words, some car-team guys pedaled to get beads of sweat on their forehead. And we finally reached Mysore road at 5:00PM. We waited for the owner to collect bikes. And a few pedaled another 8Km until exhaustion crept under their skin. We then reached our respective homes by bus/motor-bikes/cars. Freshen Up. Eat. Sleep.

Post event effect was not severe. A few faced tiredness and a little body pain. That was it. Everyone expressed that they loved the event, including me. Some came up with suggestions with a better plan for the future. It was one of the most adventurous/memorable thing.

Do's/Don't for Cycling Enthusiasts:

Wear padded shorts.

Select an appropriate distance for your round trip.

Make sure you get enough rest in between arrival and departure.

Carry a lot of fluids. A lot.

Try avoiding to choose hot & sunny day for pedaling.

Know your bike health properly before you start your trip.

They say that everyone is born here with a reason and a purpose.

I heard today, a family in the village where my Aunt is a school teacher were gifted with a baby girl. Unfortunately, the insane parents don't want to raise the kid. They needed another son, not a daughter. It is just painful to read or watch episodes about female foeticides and female child abandonment. Now, it is even more heart churning to watch and hear these thing in your vicinity and yet do nothing but watch. The parent have 3 daughters and a son, and needed one more son. But the God placed a beautiful girl in her mother's womb. Today, is the baby's day two in this world. And already it is rejected. It irked me even more when I heard that the mother of the child herself is adamant in abandoning the child. I felt like reminding her that she is also a female. The parents are not ready to keep the child for even a day. They are pestering the adopters to take the child soon. Even not willing to bring the child home from hospital. When a desperate family living abroad needed this child and asked the mother to breastfeed atleast for six months before they can adopt, the mother rejected it shamelessly. Not even a month. Not even a couple of days. What is THAT, which makes these people's heart so much barren? Is it poverty or a fantasy to possess son?

I have witnessed the discussions about gender differentiation at various occasions, where my unfamiliar distant relatives meet up. They don't want females to study, they don't want them to move ahead in life.According to them it is a liability to have a girl child. In those heated discussions if I or any sensible person talk in favor of a girl, they would berate us saying that the education has ruined culture or tradition. I often hear some say that it is compulsive to have a son, because once they die, a son should incinerate them, else they don't go to heaven. So they keep their sexual desires set ablaze until they find one and kill the rest.

So far, since 1947 we have gouged eyes of 3 Crore baby girls before they could enter and witness this beautiful world. The United Nations now calls India the most dangerous place on earth for a girl. In our ever growing rampant population and inflation why would someone want to have more children? How many more children will be murdered and abandoned? How much more time will India take think broadminded?
How long will it take them to say, "Everyone is born here with a reason and a purpose"
"To live!"

I remember vaguely, there was a 'Science club' which ran for few months in my school. During a club meeting, my School teacher Jayabharathi m'm addressed us for a few minutes on 'Going Green and Saving the Nature'. It still amuses me to recall that she carried a steel glass in her bag to avoid using a paper glass and her firm decision not to use plastic papers.

She said "My husband always tells me not to do these silly things. He says there are millions of fools out there who are just not worried about saving the environment. So why bother? For that I replied, 'I am happy, at least one fool out of millions is removed.'"

This event didn't impact me profoundly but it tried convincing me to be socially responsible. A little. I felt there are several ways a person can attribute to save an environment without any social boycotts or embarrassments.

It irritates me to see a person who leaves a room lit with no purpose or a geyser switched 'on' for no reason or a person with a bundle of tissue papers as if he/she is going to wipe his/her whole body or a person who leaves the tap open while he/she is busy examining his/her face or the one who takes bike/car even to the bathroom but go to gym everyday to burn his/her fat ass. It annoys me to the core. I fight with my friends who do these kind of things and turn to be a bad guy. With others I resist, but I stare. Badly.

There are two groups in the society, the one who can afford and the other who can't. The people who can afford are the one's who are responsible for chaos in the balance of nature. They really don't care, because they CAN AFFORD. They don't care about the water which is being wasted in their tap while people outside are fighting and declaring 'bandhs' for water. They don't care for the light and fans being ON with no purpose though KPTCL buys electricity from Gujarat and TN, because they can afford. They don't care using excessive papers though there is a poster stuck above the holders asking them to 'Go Green', because they can afford.

But the problem they really don't understand is, this attitude affects the one who can't afford. The farmers who commit suicide because of no rainfall. The villages who encounter whole day power-cut. The people who skip taking bath because they can't afford purchasing water. The people who walk miles together to save an expensive travel. And more. But we fight with the Government for the petrol and diesel price hike,
for reduction in the LPG availabilities or a simple power cut at home. There is contribution from the non-affordable too in this crisis by using inefficient things like bulbs, but they can't help it because they are not monetarily strong enough to afford a better one. I don't blame all or claim that I follow all these things. But we all can give it a shot.

The reason for these immature acts is that the affordable think that the world is full of people and not human beings. This attitude surely bites everyone, someday. It doesn't take time and effort to raise a finger to switch off the light while one goes out of a room. It is not painful to close the tap and ponder over your face then open it again. It doesn't reduce your productivity by using a few extra seconds to use a tissue paper effectively to wipe your hand. Still we don't. Because we believe that we can Afford. In reality, none of us can afford. This beautiful earth, soon will perish. But a small change with your attitude can make this place sustainable a little longer for our posterity.

I always wanted to express what I feel about this question for a long time. I have seen several types of people, those who don't care about what others would think, those who are redundantly cautious about the surrounding, those who wind up in tormenting themselves with guilt for doing nothing, those who are reckless & careless even after being unpleasant to others and those who are reclusive and act as if they don't belong to the world. After all, this is what a society is composed of, Isn't it? Or else how would there be fun.

We are human beings and we are known for a social life. We embarked a society and colored it with a few protocols and trends to follow, a few people to love, few people
to hate, few to guide and a few to misguide, few to tease and a few to
appreciate. After a while we realized that I and you are a part of this. Individual identity was highlighted. We felt, it was good to create an impression in the society. We turned actors, poets, authors, scientists, engineers, doctors, teachers and more to create an impression on the society. In turn these professions catered us livelihood. We sustained, yet again to impress the society. In the modality of creating impressions, following trends and abiding the rules, we sabotaged our self-identity. We started living for others, to receive an approval from the society for our actions and decisions. We perpetually thought, 'What will he/she/they/others think about me?'

Every single time, be it a seminar, a meeting or a classroom, we restrain ourselves from expressing, initiating and from being different. We wait for others approval for a new dress, a new haircut, a new idea, a new job and a new life. And it is just to boost our self-esteem and self-confidence. We often blame ourselves for others disapproval even though we do our best. We fear to grab a new opportunity, we fear to pursue what we love. We are afflicted with this thought and fear has masked us.

It is very hard to overcome this attitude as we have an identity only because of the society. There is a thing called as conscience which matters the most. When you want to something that is approved by your conscience, then bloody give no damn to the society. Great people have said, never dull your shine for somebody else because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind. Remember acceptance and approval is like love, people give it either freely or they don't give it at all.
Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life.
Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other
people's thinking. Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out
your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow
your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want
to become. Everything else is secondary. -Steve Jobs.

Today morning, I reached Shimoga, covered completely yet shivering and walking groggily amidst the mist. As per my regular protocol, I continued walking until I reached my home and watched the changing city. In a while I witnessed a group of kids, all dressed in white and white. Some wore a cute smile with a broken tooth and others wore ribbon of Saffron-White-Green on their wrist. A plastic straw hoisted with the shining plastic National Flag was erect with pride and a proud badge on the shirt pocket added extra pride to the puffed chest. Yes, today is Republic Day Celebration. Hence, I failed to resist myself being wallowed up into the ocean of good old memories of my School days.

Few years back, while I studied in the Govt school of my village, I possessed the same patriotic feeling in the celebration of these national festivals that I witnessed today. I still possess the same, but in a different perspective. This day's national anthem was always sung with added melody and color, or it seemed so because of the sprinkle of patriotism being showered. Standing in the queue to receive the chocolate provided by the school right after the by-hearted speeches of my beloved classmates, was the best thing. Then, I bowed reverentially at Gandhiji and Chacha Nehru for giving us this awesome day. A holiday.

My entry into the residential school JNVG redefined the process of celebration. It got more and more awesome. The day was dignified with a charm due to the following features. Flag pole base festooned with flowers and surrounded by colorful feminine Rangolis. No mass PT. No sweaters. Must bath. A tick of Kumkum on the forehead. Clean and neat white and white attire with extra polished white shoes. White tapes on the folded twin plaits. I have to admit that the scientific theory which claimed White consists of Seven colors was reconfirmed here. The day of white & white was genuinely colorful.

In spite of cold weather, there was warm atmosphere because of the warmhearted people's queer patriotism. The background song, "Aye mere watan ke logo... Zara aankhon me bharalo paani.." always gave goosebumps all over my body. This day used to be clear and brighter and simplu spectacular. I was in the band group of my school and I was taught to play a trumpet. Our trumpet was the best in Shimoga which was invited all the time for the parade from the Scout & Guide Bhavan to the DC office. At the behest of my guide right after the flag hoisting, we played 'Jana Gana Mana'. We tried our best to be nearly perfect and nearly precise. The songs sung by the Choir group seemed different and the Principal's speech was never lengthy on this occasion. My utmost appreciation to the mess department which knew, how to assuage our patriotic eyes. With Mysorepak or Badusha or coconut Barfi. At last, we were satisfied and more proud.
Now, marking the day on the calender to have a long vacation is the trend. Its Corporate life problem, not mine. But the best thing that we can do is to share the stories of our martyrs among the kids on our family and lighten a spark of patriotism in their eyes
Happy 63rd Republic Day. Proud to be an Indian.

A Letter By Year 2011

Dear All,

I still remember the moment, crinkles of curiosity on the forehead of millions of you, waiting for all the needles of the clock to tick upwards for 00:00:00 AM, towards the heaven. Your welcome was amazing, the best thing that happened in my whole life. I was welcomed to your world as Jan 1st 2011. I remember, it was a Saturday then. I witnessed balloons, promises, cakes, resolutions, kisses, love, crackers, joy, parties, ecstasy, tear, fear and care.An amazing celebration, that you guys have been endeavoring every time marking as the token of love for us for entering your life.

I never thought this day would come. The farewell day. I would like to share the greatest feeling that I have cherished and shared with all of you in my lifetime. Every single day of the last 365 days were adding new experience into your life and into my life. An experience bucket filled with all possible combinations of, known and unknown emotions to the mankind. You tried hard to remember me at the beginning, your were still in the hangover of the year 2010, my cousin. Later, I was imbibed into your lives like the water seeping into a heap of sand. I was into the notepads, calenders, appointment schedules and in almost everything that were essential for all of you. Even in your heart. I loved everyone unconditionally, from the school children who wrote my name on their notebook to the elders moved their fingers on my name of the calender.

Some of you loved me, you called me an awesome year. Some others cursed me thinking that I blemished their pool of happiness. Some wanted to get me out of their life sooner and yet others wished me to stay with them, a little longer. Everything was in equal weights, happiness and sorrow, comments and compliments, adventure and accidents, growth and hiatus, love and tear, new relations and breakups, birth and death. It sounds little ridiculous to admit that they were in equal weights, but in reality, you all failed to notice them. It always happens, Just Chill Madi.

Oh, I forgot to introduce you to my younger brother year 2012. He is not as scary as you all think in fact he is more awesome than me. He is certainly not going to end your world. He is more excited than me to be a part of your life for another 366 days. I can't lie on your laps and take
my last breath. You know why? Coz I am not a living being life like you
all dammit. I am just an notion of experience. The greatest lesson that
I would like to teach you is, life goes on, so move on and
explore. Make every day of your life adventurous, colorful and joyful.
Happiness is the only thing that matters at the end of the day. Try to make the day beautiful.
Alas, this is the last day of my life. At last, the time has come to bid goodbye. I hope to be remembered a little longer with year-2011-hangover.

Yours Lovingly,
The red carpet was rolled down for all the Gurus who had gathered from all over the country to bless their beloved disciples again, at Kuvempu Rangamandira. This enormous auditorium was lit with excitation at 4pm on 3rd Dec 2011. Then arrived the teachers, who had nurtured and nourished us into well human beings. A proud beaming smile and twinkling eyes embellished every single face of our teachers. Our basic intro with the teachers, their honest attempt in recognition of our face and proud appreciation for the achievement that we have accomplished were simply emotional. Once-upon-a-time-our-hero senior's dresses which ranged from ಕರಿ ಸೂಟ್ to ಬಿಳಿ ಲುಂಗಿ, all our parents who witness the magnificence, yummy ಶಂಕರ್ಪಳೆ as snack, the evening ambiance of ಮಲೆನಾಡು added eight color to the rainbow of our happiness.
Jam packed Mandira once boomed due to the energy of Chitkala and her power-boosted anchoring. It again vibrated with our Alma-mater(ನವೋದಯ ಗೀತೆ) under Rajini madam's eyes. The fascinating story of the evolution of the school by HNS Rao sir hypnotized us and made us turn into puppets.

Here is the story by HNS Rao sir in short & different words,

Tunga-Valley Civilization

Once upon a time a bunch of sages entered ಗಾಜನೂರು. They took oath to convert once-upon-a-time swampy paddy land of 30 acres into a temple. The teaching under the trees, the lock-less library, the humility of the teachers and the commitment of the students were the foundations for building this temple. The temple was named as Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Gajanuru. It welcomed us saying, "ವಿದ್ಯಾ ದೇಗುಲವಿದು, ಕೈ ಮುಗಿದು ಒಳಗೆ ಬಾ".

The felicitation of the teachers with cheerful whoops from the students was emotional. Scintillating dance from Powerpuff girls (Pooja, Muktha, Shwetha, Chaya) dropped ours jaws. The melodious voice of Vinay & the orchestra was simply fabulous. ಪಂಕಜಾ.. and ಹಾಡು ಸಂತೋಷಕ್ಕೆ.. provoked every muscle of our body to dance involuntarily. The stage was filled with some of the best country dancers with ಅಣ್ಣಮ್ಮ steps. An explicit dance performance by teachers was simply catchy. In short, We rocked the floor. Food was felt extremely delicious for the exhausted souls. Everyone wished time, not to move at all.

Day Two at the school made us relive our old memories. The change in the infrastructure, the cute innocent faces of our juniors, the dedication of the teachers, the report, the planning, the inspirations got highlighted. The walk around the campus, visit to the temple, meeting all teachers again, long queues at the mess and our attempt to have 2 rounds of food were extremely memorable. Volleyball and football tested our stamina while Lagori near the Kho-kho ground induced noise pollution. The new aerobics from the juniors with cheerleaders costume on the football ground was different with Jai-Ho as the background song.

To,
J.13 Batch.
This part of the story will include some of the coded jokes of J13 batch. Other batch guys might not be able to decipher them.
Even after improper planning we were able to huddle together (14 guys) at majestic to start our journey to the school. The journey began with a song for soup boys, Changu's photography and blames on me for not booking the tickets. We slept due the laughter induced sleep. After the chai at the bus stand in the morning, the plans to reach pajji's house for freshen up was welcomed by the gushy cold wind from the bus windows. The fog around gave a remarkable view.
Pajji's father's slap-on-the-face comment on Geeta, "ಹೋಗಮ್ಮ.. ಅಲ್ಲಿ brush ಮಾಡಿ ಬಾ" due to her malodorous mouth, when she tried to wish him. Fast and furious bath and washing after a short nap, we all cherished Pajji's mother's delicious Akki Rotti. Peda was present as 'Khaneke baad ..Kuch meetha ho jaye..!". Just for a change, there was a trip to Lion Safari as people were bored of seeing tigers from Shivalik. The event began at 4pm. Vasa and Pajji drove everybody to the auditorium after the safari. Akhila surprised all of us. During the songs were being sung from the orchestra, we began to rock the floor. Our eccentric steps for slow songs, shake-it-baby dance for Pankaja song were extremely ravishing. Our dear Mohan turned extreme courageous by performing solo dance on the stage which had only one step being repeated again and again and again...
At the dinner, snatching others jamoon was quite frustrating yet awesome. The night ride to Paddi's house was a different thing that we did this time. The chilling breeze, the bumpy ride gave a sense of fatigue to all of us. But again, we gathered lot of energy to share the stories, laugh and tease. My attempt to narrate a JaniFox's moral story which was being interrupted by numerous advertisements. Vasa was blessed with ವೀರಮರಣ by Jani's fictitious daughter's player.
The morning tea, and a visit to the ಅಡಕೆ ತೋಟ and an attempt to bring down some tender coconut from Ganni turned futile. Some of us stayed back and cherished 2 ಎಳೆನೀರು each by the Mani's effort. My first time attempt (much much better than Ganni) to reach the top of the tree gave a scar on my thighs.
The welcomed us, we greeted all the teachers again. Banakar sir's startling expression seeing at Jani's halo head and Rajkumar sir's attempt to narrate a story which eventually failed due to the advertisements. The mess turned into a magnet and while were looked as Ironmen. Jani's fantasy towards banana and Sunni's shyly-courageous face due to his position demoted him from ಹುಲಿ to ಇಲಿ. The preaching from the tigers on the juniors regarding the Shivalik-tigers-quota during placements and college admissions was controversial. Our junior scientist Appi's innovation over 'Lab and Laboratory' triggered awesome laughter when her own brother and some junior ಪುಟ್ಟಿs went again her innovation. The football was exhausting making us drink water by 'go straight and.. go straight' route map. The interrogation over some of the ಪುಟ್ಟಿs over appearance of the tiger Sunni was disappointing. The little girls new caption 'ಮಂಗಳವಾರ ಹೇಳಿದ್ರೆ, ಗುರುವಾರ ಅರ್ಥ ಆಯ್ತಂತೆ' for Paddi's 3 time delayed understanding. The bajji and tea near the dam bid goodbye to us and we reached Bangalore and woke up with the nostalgic hangover.

I have certainly missed out a lot of things as I am writing with sleepy eyes.

The day I passed out from the school in 2005 there was a question being asked by a classmate of mine.

"When are you coming back to the school", she said.

"I will see. I will be here if I get into a good college." I speculated with naivety.

Well, I always wanted to be a Doctor but (un)fortunately ended up being an Engineer. The implication of the above conversation is neither intended at I choosing B.Tech instead of MBBS (I will tell you if you call me. :-)) nor about the girl who asked the question(I won't tell the name even if you call me again and again). It is about the hurdles that stops us from traveling an extra mile to visit the school. We are busy people, we have job, we have bosses, some have two types of bosses (home+office), some have home-boss as their office-boss, some have kids, some have college, many have attendance-shortage, some have exams (don't think about missing this) and some have no-time.

For the matter of fact, we(most) admit that the hairpin curve that happened in our lives was THIS beautiful school. A Priceless gift. We are today because of it, at least I am.

During the last alumni, I heard people saying, "JNV is like a well and the students are frogs. We need more exposure with the outside world". I go in accord with it. The small-yet-so-big-well has been turning dumb & innocent frogs into successful hulks (ಕಪ್ಪೆMan) for the last 25 years. We are the incredible hulks from the same well. A tenure of 7 years has created an unperceivable bond among ourselves.

Alumni meet is an opportunity to relive the sweet old days with the same old leg-pulling-yet-loving-friends. I don't intend to motivate your to come out of the complacency and visit the school instead I would want to tell you that you are failing to grab the opportunity to smile at, remembering your Cement Grey Color ಚಡ್ಡಿ & Skirt.

It is indeed an inexplicable and ravishing moment when you say again and again,

ಲೇ this was my desk. I hated/loved to sit here man.

I was slapped in this place for sleeping (or for staring at...).

I was made to sit with that girl for failing English over there.

This is where I studied for my Board exams. Look at his/her name in the topper's board.

This is the computer where I created my first email id.

This is the place where I proposed her, where she cried and made me get beaten-up/debarred (rarely accepted).

Here is my cot. AAhhh.. "Did we actually ಸೂ-ಸೂ here...? "

Oh.... Open bathroom where we took bath with colored water.

I still love that Ghee rice and ಕುರ್ಮಾ . Those magical sleep-inducing-ದೋಸ.

If I go on listing the things, I am certain to hit the size of our 'Chemistry ABC or Accountancy books'. It is admirable to give some token of respect to the teachers who display beaming smile when they look at you. Always remember we are the celebrities for the cute, innocent juniors of ours who always look up to us. The way they gather around you when you plan to narrate something. They capture all your conversation and share among themselves and leave it for posterity. Just like the way we were told, "ಏನ್ ಗೊತ್ತ ! Senior ತೋಟಪ್ಪ ಅಂತ ಓಡ್ತ ಇರೋ ಜಿಂಕೆ ಹಿಡ್ದಿದ್ರಂತೆ!" even though I never knew who ತೋಟಪ್ಪ (enlighten me if you do) was.

Let us make the two days of this year memorable. Come and cherish on Alumni Day.

NOTE: If you have taken some extra efforts (not sleeping in the train whole night coz of yelling-shouting, getting scolded by bus-mates) in reaching the School for the alumni, please narrate me the story. I will cover it on the Blog so that others can inculcate values from you.

On 6th Nov 2011, there was an event organized at 12.971, 77.4830 by a bunch of old boys of JNVG. They all called it 'Annual Alumni Sports Day'. I present you, the ravishing moments of the event.

Every memory of friendship shared, even for a short time, is a
treasure, like sunshine and warmth in our lives, like a cool breeze on a
humid day, like a shower of rain refreshing the earth. There is absolutely an unique and irrepressible feeling of happiness being delivered to us after meeting our friends. I was late to the event as I am cursed by Hypnos (The God of Sleep) and I ought to serve him little more compared to others. The hugs, Hi-Fis, handshakes, kicks and "Oye-Oye" from our batch mates welcomed me. Some people had turned fat, some were skinny and the rest had remained same. Smiling and beckoning all the seniors, I-know-you-but-still-I-don't-know-you internal quotes whenever juniors greeted us and Its-okay-chill-dear reciprocation to the senior girls who were masquerading to know you even though they failed to recognize you, were all the part of the story. Every single face narrated a story and relived the old memories.

The list included,

Remember, he had ragged me/him a lot.

He is the one whom we had ragged a lot.

Dude, there she is. The one on whom you had crush.

These juniors have grown huge man, its hard to recognize them.

Some girls commented,"Do they considered themselves hunks by riding a motorbike?"

Is she our senior? No maga, she is his wife.

There was a cricket match being played. Alas, my batch J13 was martyred, due to the absence of cheerleaders who were busy cheering themselves and had arrived a bit late. The tumultuous environment was lit by shrills, clamor, whoop and howls from the high spirited animals of JNVG (which has been trademarked to us). The hot lunch at the college canteen of EW Engg College assuaged everyone's hunger.

The J13 Factor:

This part is dedicated to all the soldiers being lead by the commander BMCM (Band Master Changu Mani). The unused muscles of our body craved some exercise. We needed a thing to play, there was nothing better than the haunches of Jani (who was unfortunately born on 7th Nov). The warm up was done with straight and solid shots damaging the cells and tissues of Jani's part. His howl of pain due to this inhumane act was knocked off. After hatching cunning plans, Sunni, Chetan, Kada, Paddi, GD were given non-birthday bumps. Later, We all decided to play actual football. This dramatic ignition of playing was simmered down just after 15 min. The exhaustion of stamina made us to settle down one by one gasping and panting. While we sat down and watched the cricket match, shouting at every possible opportunity, a non-JNVGian approached us and asked, "ಯಾವ ಸ್ಪೋರ್ಟ್ಸ್ ಇದು?"

Jani replied,"ಇದು ಕ್ರಿಕೆಟ್ !". We all laughed like uncivilized.

Someone answered,"ಇದು old students sportsmeet."

The Guy, "ಎಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಬಂದಿರೋದು?"

We replied, "From all over India, Sorry from all over the world."

We all were cajoled to play Lagori by Roopi. The game ended up in a tie. Pajji's confident and sure shot throws on the targets went again wide making our team loose points. The photographs from Changu's Nikon were glistering due to Jani's shine factor. Sunni's attempt to ride the motorbike almost skipped our heartbeat when he overtook the pink-dressed-baby. Thanks to his uber-cool mother who didn't complain a bit on Sunni even after witnessing it.

We managed to convince the fantastic four girls (Gitti, Shwetha, Suchi, Radi) to throw us a treat. The same old resto and the same old table invited us. Ganni's attempt to teach us broken urdu that he had learned from IIT Bangalore was fascinating. Roopi craved to sing our Alma Mater (Ham navu uga ki..). Roopi to Sunni and vice versa Hindi-Urdu fight which included only two words, "Nikaldungi.. Dikhadunga.." triggering huge laughter.

J13 Cricket Match:
This chunk is dedicated to Ani for his beautiful explanation of the match which I had not witnessed. J16 were the opponents and we decided to let our tigers out as the openers (Changu and Sunni). Being IT guys sitting all time in AC, we didn't feel like standing in the scorching sunlight for a stupid game. So everyone returned to the pavilion once they felt their first sweat drop under their armpit. Circuit scored a six which made the ball disappear. Paddi could score 1 run for 8 balls which made KMF(Karnataka Milk Federation) to withdraw all the sponsors. A decent score of 39 for 8 overs was good enough to bind the opponents.
After special consulting, we let Pajji after convincing him not to hypnotize the batsmen with his magical wides. He did his best with 6 run with the first over. Sunni was next. Changu snatched the first wicket. The celebrations were the most memorable things. We danced. We shouted. We tasted the victory. Onwards every good ball were appeal-able and every wicket were dance-able. In this huge celebration, we almost forgot to win. We believed that we had won. Later we gambled using Paddi who donated them free runs (1 wide+7 No balls+six) and he was replaced immediately by Pajji. Eventually, they scored just 1 run more than us (1 run is no big deal !). We walked out of the the ground with the aura of victory.
A new symbol for victory was introduced by Jani. Two finger V being pointed by a forefinger of the other hand. Don't get us wrong, the symbol signifies 'THIS Victory'.
In short, the whole day was fantastic. Loved it.

I
confess to say that I am a seasonal theist and atheist. I sometimes
believe and sometimes criticize God like everyone else do. Being born in
a family which firmly
believed in this super power always enforced me to inculcate all the
divinely related fantasies. The belief of God had a profound impact on
me and I always saw things as an outcome of wimps and fancies of our
dear God. I was forced to wash myself every single evening and lit Diya
and pray God. Well, I raise no question against this beautiful culture
that India is always proud of. But the subtle part of my brain always
acted as a cynic,
always interrogated on his existence and cardinal principles laid by
him.

Let me assume the whole world believes in God !

I
remember a story that I had read during my childhood reckoning Lord
Krishna's wit. There were two people living in a village. One was
pathetically poor and owned a cow for his livelihood and other was a
landlord and owned huge wealth. The poor chanted Krishna's during his
free time while the rich never prayed at all. One day, Krishna ceased
the cow from the poor man making his life more miserable and in turn
threw more wealth to the Rich guy. When someone interrogated Krishna
about his intention, he answered," I ceased Cow from the poor so that
he can use his busy time also in chanting and praying. In turn his
Punya (Virtuous deeds) flourish retaining a seat for him in Heaven. I
gave wealth to the rich so that he can never think about praying or any
virtuous deed." This story changed my perception about almighty. I
felt God is illogical. What is the point living in a hell thinking about
heaven.

I
questioned why someone like God would want attention from these
ordinary human beings. I have known people who borrow huge cash so that
they can offer a Pooja to Mr.God in turn Mr.God can throw some of his
attention towards them. But the real fact would be, the person will
wallow in the despair and retain perennially on loan. This rat race goes
on and on, the father will teach son to believe and follow the same. I
am still unable to realize, why would someone need to go the temple,
church or mosque to pray. If someone say, the main objective of praying
is intended at providing peace, I would comply with it as it is
something to do with peace of mind. If someone else come up with saying
that the whole process is way to get God's grace to live peacefully. I
would ask,"WHY..? Is he also greedy, desperate and a self-conceited
fool like us? Asking sacrifices and Poojas to convert dark into light,
sorrow into happiness?" I
am fine with the approach, believe in God or Power. But why should someone
fast in the name of God, perform Homa and sacrifice animals? Can't he see the imbalance and give good to the weak and desperate?

Whenever
we try to break the belief over Mr.God, we step back. It is the fear
that we possess. The dreaded fear about loosing the hard earned money,
our true love, family, luxury and many more things which are integral
part of our lives. We again believe if we loose interest over God, we
might plunge in the turmoil of misery and misfortune. We correlate to
God's bane when something bad happens. We are indeed weak and tied by
the complex knots of faith and belief. I have seen several theist and
atheists who are amazingly successful. It is hard to find
unsuccessful/miserable person who is an atheist. Are we just blaming and
admiring a second person, in the name of God, calling him either benignant or heartless?

ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು Life - ಗಾಂಚಲಿ ಬಿಡಿ, ಕನ್ನಡ ಮಾತಾಡಿ !!

It has been 1 year and 3 months of my official Bengaluru life apart from the not-so-often visits during my college days. I write this representing all those deeply hurt Kannadigas who are fed up seeing Ekkada Ennada Dudes Bhaiyaas everywhere in the city. I was just wondering, living at a place like Tin Factory which is gulped completely by Tamils leaving no room for Kannada and some semi-passionate Kannadigas like me. I live here and I feel, I am out state and it pisses me off!

Not so long ago, when I got out of the bus at Majestic, I was asked by an auto guy, "Enga poda ....blah blah.. blah". When I stared at him with my sleepy eyes with an acknowledgement saying Dammit, you are in K'taka, he switched to Telugu and later Hindi.

"Kannaaadaaa..!" I retorted. The little passion in me for Kannada was set on ablaze.

After my reply he asked me, "ಎಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೋಗ್ಬೇಕು ಗುರು?"

I said (actually sang), "ಎಲ್ಲಿಗೂ... ಇಲ್ಲಾ... ! ". I loved myself for protecting my language.

Whenever I talk to a retailer, an auto guy, a techie and et al., I want to shout at them asking, why can't they talk to us in Kannada? Why don't they give a damn about even learning a bit of Kannada? I bloody heard someone saying, "I am living here for the past 20 years" and he doesn't even attempt to talk in my language. Actually it is not their mistake. It is us Kannadigas who are giving their asses out to everyone in the name of bigheartedness. I see my colleagues gets into perennial conversation amongst them in their mother tongue which sounds more like alien. And at the same time, the born-and-brought-up-here-beauties talk to one another in either English or some other keeping Kannada aside.

I want to ask them, "Does the tongue hurt if you speak in native lingo?". For the last one year, I have hardly witnessed any girl speaking Kannada with their corporates badges on, even though they are from K'taka (There are only countable cases).

Well, technically speaking it is not the fault of those guys who have been resting their asses on this high mountain awesome climate city, furnished with all-time BMTC services and homelike dishes. It is us, ruining up things. We ourselves are not passionate about our language. We should have been little more conservative about over language and culture. You may call this as cynical or chauvinistic attitude, I don't give a damn. I am exasperated when a Kannadiga learns English/Hindi/Tamil/Telugu to run his business and those who live on my land giving no damn to my language. It riles me more when the same people struggles hard and learn Telugu and Tamil when they are in those states (it has happened with many guys). I understand now the pain taken by those poets/literates and some sane people of K'taka struggling hard to save the language and our culture.

I could have written the same in Kannada making this look as an obsolete material. I am not against your IT english life, telugu movie fantasy or your Dhaba Hindi orders but I just want to say, "Sometime..., ಗಾಂಚಲಿ ಬಿಡಿ, ಕನ್ನಡ ಮಾತಾಡಿ "

Goobe Falls Version 2.4 Alias Devra Falls

As every super hero has an amazing story about the evolution of his powers, we have a new desi super hero bestowed with eccentric qualities to evaporate water through his thoughts. Late in the year 2000+ a young dude from Harnahalli was sleeping on his desk in a classroom. It was night, dark and scary. In a split second he felt a pain on his arm and noticed that an owl (ಗೂಬೆ) had bitten him (There is absolutely no resemblance with Spiderman story, if so, then its ಕಾಕತಾಳಿಯ ಅಷ್ಟೇ ). The real power of Goobe was witnessed when his classmates took him to a NK trip and noticed that the water falls was completely dry. All the people who were amused by his extraordinary power dedicated his name to the water falls as ಗೂಬೆ Falls. The story continued again....TK falls was his next target.

Through the huge activities that were going on Facebook, the FB mates decided to plan for a trip to TK Falls (The original name which is obsolete now) and it was again initiated by Goobe. Ten innocent guys + ದೇವರು agreed to join the promenade. Imagine what all can Spiderman do, if he gets collaboration with God, similarly Goobeman was supported by ದೇವರು for mission TK Falls. ದೇವರು gave a brief explanation of the water falls which imbibed a lot of enthusiasm among the group. Everyone dreamed about swimming, taking pictures of babes with Changu's new Nikon camera and many more.

Hanumi finally decided to join the trip leaving his part time job laundry. We all waited for him at Marthahalli. During the wait, there were a lot of demo stories by me which received wooing from the crowd. After a lot fun inside the tempo we reached TK falls and Bheema was the navigator and he drove us through a wrong way and later got corrected from a local kid. Finally, we visited TK falls after eating some ಬೋಟಿ packets on our lazy walk.

Bheema Version of TK Falls -

Pajji's Version : ನೋಡ್ರಪ್ಪ, ನಾನಂತು ಫಾಲ್ಸ್ ನೋಡಿಲ್ಲ. ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಅಷ್ಟೇ ಬೈಬೇಕು.

Live View : There was a water stream line flowing from the top of a rock which was simply marvelous. The volume of the water can be easily achieved if you make a bunch of kids pee on the top of the rock.

We did not take any pic of the place to avoid ROFLs from the rest J13 guys who didn't visit the place. Even the driver Deepak commented, "ಏನ್ರಿ, ಇದ್ನ ನೋಡೋಕೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ತನಕ ಬಂದ್ರಾ!"

We are still confused to name it as Goobe Version 2.4 falls or Devara Falls. If we take Goobe to ಜೋಗ or Niagara falls, even they will dry up in no time.

Soon after that we decided to visit ಸಂಗಮ್ and ಮೇಕೆ ದಾಟು. We drove another 100 KM and reached sangam. The water of the river was pure like honey filled with ಸೋಪಿನ ನೊರೆ. We crossed the river with ತೆಪ್ಪ and jumped inside the water. We used teppa thinking the river is deep. Indeed it was deep, my knees were scratched due the bottom of the river. We swam till the middle of the river, where the water level were just below the chest. Lawyer was swimming as if he was driving spaceship, Goobe's swimming stroked were filled more with water sprinkling than swimming. I can't comment on Bhayya coz senior citizen quota. Backstroke, floating, doggy style were exhibited there. Changu and Bheema crossed the river. After too much of tiredness, when I tried to swim against the upstream the calf muscles were cramped. It didn't get released at all whcih made Vishwa, Y, Bheema and Sandy carry me to the river bank. While they were carry me, some unknown Jackass tried to snatch the precious possession of mine thinking that we are having fun. I some how managed to save it for the future use. From the distance I saw guys playing "ಎತ್ತು, ಎಸಿ" game and I captured most of the pics.

For our misfortune there were no single babe in the area and our testosterone were saved a lot, later we witnessed a NK chick (There is another story for this). After the swim we moved to Meke Datu with Tamilnadu styled bus. Meke datu was incredible, a must visit and a scary place. The smooth slippery rocks and roaring water was something that made us forgive Goobe and Bheema. After the photo session we headed back to the bus and noticed a babe sitting in the bus and suddenly heard a bunch of drunkards fighting on the top of the bus. We reached the river bank and it was the time to cross it and we were chosen in three different ತೆಪ್ಪs and the last teppa included that girl whom I was talking about and Y Suri and MM. Suri was sitting right next to the girl and wanted to preserve it as a memory, he asked us to take photo of him with that girl. Well, we all just laughed at him dint take the pic (ನಮಗೆ ಸಿಗದೇ ಇರೋದು ಅವನಿಗಷ್ಟೇ ಯಾಕೇ). Sandy was trying create impression in the boat by taking out his tongue to make a baby laugh which was present in the same boat. He was shut after hearing the comment from Kada or Goobe, "ಲೇ ನಿನ್ ಏನೇ ಮಾಡದೇ ಇದ್ರೂ ಕೂಡ ನಿನ್ ಮುಖ ನೋಡಿ ಮಗು ನಗಾಡ್ತದೆ .. ಬಿಡೋ ಸಾಕು !"

We dined at a dhaba, and I am not sure why things were so hilarious to me. I laughed at every single comment in ವಜ್ರಮುನಿ style. My laugh made others laugh more and more. Adi took the initiation to take the orders by saying, "ನಿಮಗೆ non-veg ಬೇಕಾ or Chicken ಬೇಕಾ". Bonda ordered a Egg Budgi as usual and finished his plate and took most from my plate too (I was staring at him for every spoon he robbed from my plate. But he was never bothered to look at me). Veg guys were creative as-usual in ordering the menu and Non-Veg guys just copied them and replaced Veg into Chicken. Adi added some more color to the evening through his awesome comments which I don't remember now. In the tempo, Kada introduced to a new word "ಗಡುಸತ್ವ" . Bhayya's love letter to his Ex was revealed which was accomplished by Hanumi's wordings.

Totally this was an awesome weekend. Missed out memories may be commented out.

After the most successful ಗೂಬೆ Falls trip, the chairman of the owl committee again planned another trip. This time he was selfish, he planned a night trip so that he could see everything clearly. It turned to be his planned victory with a total count of 20 people even though 19 were present physically (Bheema* only knows who was that extra person whom Goobe counted all the time). I joined all at Benaganahalli stop and witnessed half sleepy and half over enthusiastic folks.

We reached Skandagiri at 3:50 AM and Pajji asked for our suggestion to hire a Guide, and I responded spontaneously with a YES, coz I heard it as Kite. That moment I was asked to shut up. Just looking at the slope and the altitude of ಸ್ಕಂದಗಿರಿ, as a budding engineer Mr.Pajji was popped out with some thought, like a flash of genius from his ಗೂಬೆ brain. And he called it as Furlong**. Right then Vasa used that unit with almost everything and turned himself as Furlong Vasa. After hiring a guide Rajanna and his assitant Mr. Adi we entered the black forest.
The whole path until we reached the hill top was lit using mobile phones and the maximum luminosity was due to Nokia X2 (5 Mpx + flash). The great adventure included frequent slipping and resting by Suchi. Jani was abnormal as usual, walking on a different path from ours and ಕಾಡ guided the guide in the later part of the journey.

Scene: Skandagiri Top

The apex was awesome, filled with cool breeze, golden sunlight, parceled rice, hot water named as tea and some random noodles. There occurred a series of meaningless stomach aching laughter, me and Jani being the targets and a lot of photography with flash plus click sound. ಗೂಬೆ wanted to feel 'what is it like to be a dog?' and went to the same place where some dog performed a courageous act by standing at the edge. Climbing down the hill was more painful. Suchi walked like PT Usha (Thanks to that random noodle charged at 25 bucks which acted like a ಶಕ್ತಿಮದ್ದು) We halted down under a rock to sip on tender coconut. While coming down, a Top Secret was revealed which can be attributed to Vasa's eavesdropping capability. "Door Close" was the code word for that top secret. It was coined by Suchi because of her great detective skills and the convict was Paani.
At 9 we were at the bottom and decided to hit some semi-urban place to meet some of the essential requirements. At the restaurant there was a debate between the lawyer and an ordinary man and ended up inconclusive as usual. Later we headed towards Nandi hills.

Scene: Inside Tempo
This time Jani didn't get a lot of opportunity to play with others life, he was devastated with the prank played by Goobe. Jani was blushing all the time as if her discovered a new love. Vasa's love stories (sorry it was supposed to be just a story) were thrown some light. 3 kg grapes were paid in return to all for crediting the tag 'coward' to Jani during the game Truth or Dare. Jani failed to perform the simple role to be Romeo though Juliet was next to him. I was asked to propose to some random girl named Rashmi Swain who cherished the position as Vasa's PC wallpaper (Still wondering, why was she his wallpaper?). It was no big deal for me and later I was asked with some other question. Some personal secrets received Wooo from everyone.

Scene : Nandi Hills

Jani received 'man of the match' for taking 4 wickets under the captain-ship of Goobe and Paani got out at the score 99 after receiving a lot of pressure from Suchi and Kho. After loosing all the games Goobe's spiky hairs turned more spiky. All the girls played a spinning game and warned all the boys with the dialogue, "ಹೋಗ್ರೋ, ನೀವು ನಮ್ಮ್ನಕ್ರಿಕೆಟ್ ಗೆ ಕರ್ಕೊಳೋದೆ ಇಲ್ಲ. ನಾವು ನಿಮ್ನ ನಮ್ ಗೇಮ್ ಗೆ ಕರ್ಯೋದಿಲ್ಲ". We are still unsure, if they meant ಲಗೋರಿ or ಕುಂಟಪಿಲ್ಲೇ.

Thanks to Vaku for treating all of us at friends and family restaurant.

Later all sleep deprived birds returned to their nest in the evening.

*Bheema : ದೇವರು

**Furlong: it was used to measure weight, height, distance, courage, foolishness and many more things(in short all the things).
After the initiation to meet up by Anandapaa at Facebook, many people got to know about the party by Sunni and every one rushed towards one of the pure kannadiga's area Hampinar (nr Vijaynagar). Hearing this flooded message and to impress some X person, Sunni doubled his party budget to 2N thousand. Because of the heavy contribution by the Bangalore traffic and as usual weak planning, the party started at unknown time and ended at 11:45PM. Unluckily I was born on the same day the new year is born. I turned to be "The Victim" of the start of the year 2011.

My so called best friends were waiting to clot a part of the 5 liter blood flowing in my body with their highly starving legs covered with branded shoes. These 24 people (I exclude one who carried my wallet and mobile) performed most inhumane act exactly at 00:00 AM on 1.01.11. I was crucified like Jesus (the only difference is the I was parallel to ground level). Those merciless people surrounding me almost killed me with countless shots thrice in the name of Birthday bumps. As per Mohan's idea to cover my face to avoid to see my painful expression during the act of killing was overridden by Paddi's cover the head with cake. For the first time, I felt death.

Anyways I lost my sensations. Some people though to contributing a part of their income to Vijay Mallya buying few of his products and few from his competitors. With no place to sleep and with Jani lames yet killer jokes kept us awake for the whole night.

Top Rated:

This night involved Gitti's attempt to discover whole Facebook.com just like what Tenga did with Gmail.com.

The fight between two teams playing Dumb charades with my opposite team talking almost infinite time to select a movie name to give us to act and our team's talent to crack the movie name in nano second.

Pajji's first time Digambara act saving a Puppy giving shelter inside the room and bought some biscuits to feed the puppy which were eaten by Gitti instead.

Created the quotes of the Year:
"ವಾಪಸ್ ವಾಪಸ್ - Same to you" - Ganni
"If you are settled once, they you are settled forever" - Paddi, (GATE Coach for under 18 guys)

Discovered that Vasa has complete dislike towards froth (ನೊರೆ) formation.

Gitti received Man of the match award in cricket.

Sunni's all time Blush Blush dialogue, "ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ನೋಡಿ ನಾಚ್ಕೊಳೋದಿಲ್ಲ ".

Night out with Cockroaches. And some girlish jokes on the imaginary movie.."Tenga and the cockroach" and their midnight laughs.

Third attempt in watching Aptarakshaka.

Nidhi's and Gitti's designer Dosas.

There are many more .. Share them..!
Along with sweet memories at the school during the Milana, we witnessed a lot changes in the school. Here I present top 10 changes that changes that I remember.
NOTE: The order of ranking is not considered here, it is all random :-)

MKP Sir's high (100%) tolerance to "Okay.. okay ". He dint use okay even single time in his 5-10 min welcome speech. Earlier in 2005 he had a record of using Okay some 40 times in 35 min class period. What an improvement right..?

There was a time when Hedge sir use the sharpness of Wilkinson blade to throw some shine on the basins of Preethi (Shivalik during our days) house. Those basins are replaced with some good looking tiles now.

During the summer days we, the so called seniors (XI and XII ) guys used to change the orientation of the cots to get some cool air from the all time noise making fans. But there are wall fans being fixed in the houses for every cot.

"ಮನುಷ್ಯ ನಡೆಯುವ ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಗರಿಕೆeನು ಬೆಳೆಯೋಲ್ಲ " This proverb has turned true. We can assume that the current batch guys might be Footballophobic and might have stopped playing football. The solid proof for this can be attributed to the tall grasses on the football ground.

"Gimme sunshine , gimme some rain gimme another chance I wanna grow up once again". Are you praying with this song? Then JNVG has a temple to mediate your prayer to the almighty.

There was an era when boys tried to occupy the seat in the mess facing the direction as faced by the main entrance to watch some eye coolers. Alas, this facility has been deprived to the current batch guys as there has been a new mess constructed exclusively for girls. Feel sad for the existing batch guys. Anyways it can be considered to a step to curb one of the many distractions.

The time to decorate your plates and glasses with your name using oil point with some "Non Times New Roman" font has waved goodbye to the people of JNVG. A big case that holds all the plates/glasses and "Come first to take the best plate and who cares how clean I wash the plate?" concepts have saved so many calories of the students.

During the winter season (actually in all the seasons with some random excuse), "cold weather" was the excuse which saved us by skipping the bath and just wet comb our hairs seems like a mirage now. Thanks to the solar water heaters which imbibes the intrinsic motivation in all the hydrophobic students of the School.

The newly constructed hostels on other sides of girls and boys dormitories with "you can never move" cement cots has added a new look in the campus.

Indian Postal service might have had the best clients from JNVs during our days. The standard format of writing, ಮಾತೃಶ್ರೀ ತಾಯಿಯವರಿಗೆ ಹಾಗು ಪೂಜ್ಯ ತಂದೆಯವರಿಗೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಗ ಅಥವಾ ಮಗಳು ಮಾಡುವ ಶಿರ ಸಾಷ್ಟಾಂಗ ನಮಸ್ಕಾರಗಳು is out of picture now. The reason is the little coin booth hung on the outside of the hostel near the MKP sir's quarters.

There are many more changes that we might have observed. If you find one, please post in the comment section and make the story interesting.
We the 13th batch JNVGians decided to meet on 4th and 5th at school. I miss every single second that we spent together.

Well, the top rated quote during our reunion was , "OH MY GOSH.. I was like stunned..!!". The credit goes to Ms. Swathi who quoted this line in her genuine excitement seeing me and JM at tin factory. I dint know, that would be the top most dialogue among our friends succeeding Babu's successful line, "Myself Babu Yaar..!!". Every single reply during put stay included this sentence.

I miss the journey in the train on 3rd night where I met all my J13 guys. Our journey started with the typical Su..s.. Suresh and Ra..r... Ramesh.... style of greeting. Like the mummy's of Pyramid coming to life after the drinking blood, our nick names were gives names, starting from BMCM of Vijaynagar to Solle of Chennai and reaching everyone one in between.
The most funniest and stomach ache laugh was attributed to Bonda's baby. Rachan being registered as FEMALE on the train reservation ticket was the like the breaking news of the day. The scolding by 5+ people in the train were lullabies making us sleep peacefully on Friday night.

In the morning Bonda was brushing his teeth at the railway platform and Gitti was looking at some Burka wearing woman in order to find Bonda (It was situation specific, U should have witnessed this to enjoy). The long walk hunting the lodge enlightened us with the Kannada reading skills of Mulla with his Nariya Seere
Kadda and Mailari Mailesh. The people got busy with the bath etc after dedicating some jokes on senior citizen.
Jani's think of an animal (elephant) and an attempt by Prof. Robert Langdon (Hanumi) trying to decipher the hidden animal name with his super logic, "Does the animal have 3 legs ?" killed us almost. Visiting the hostels and enjoying moments with the sixth class guys was really different. After the lunch the high energy to play Football which was diluted after just 15 min and a long walk to the dam just to have Bisi bisi bajji, chur muri and tender coconut made us a lot tired. The evening camp fire with the dance to the pop song hole le le lo by the disciples of Micheal Jackson, Haal's modern speech, aluminum joke, Paddi's suggestion for GATE coaching and being STUNNED for 3 min, long night at the basket ball court, where Oh my Gosh was introduced to the folks, some old memories of Vinayak's last desk cough, a little hunting for the drinking water and different jokes of Mahadev Prasad made us sleep in the newly constructed hostel.

Early in the morning the eagerness to have Dosa(which was replaced with Avalakki) and Mulla's , Who want's to come to Dam? loud noise wished us good morning. Our attempt to recall the skill to play the Band and Hanumi's impressive play with the trumpet, some photo session in the school building were simply fabulous. After the mind blowing bidding on the painting of IX class student for 32.5k and some effort to plant as a part of Go Green Mission we entered the mess to complete Mission Ghee Rice. We were alerted with Sharru's fracture with TS's activa and Channi's Jan 2nd engagement. After the lunch, Lagori was the buzz, where the Captains of the era Roopi and Gitti managed to introduce some left hand rule which was broken by Goobe making Swathi as the victim. Random strategy formation from the Roopi's team whispering something forming a circle which eventually pushed them into the pit of defeat and made our team under Gitti's captain-ship unbeatable.

After the simple jogging from JNV entrance to the bus stop ,we managed to reach Shimoga. The Odd numbered seats made me a victim leaving the seat with some random dude in the front part of the bus.
Some God only jokes By Roopi,
"Shashi wants to eat Fried fish, ha ha a....
Shashi wants to eat boiled egg.... HA h A ha ah ahaaa
Shashi want to scratch his head. . . .. h ah a ha a...." made us get STUNNED.
Gitti, Preethi and Roopi's secret and their random 1.. 2... 3.. Su...re.... sh...... , their attempt to sit beside Ani and Pani and Bonda's Bitta biddilla war.....kept me speechless.

In short, I was like STUNNED after recalling all these moments.
Mention if you any moment that we have not encountered.

Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder !

<div class="separator"
Homo sapiens sapiens being the most intelligent creature on the earth doesn’t know to live life in isolation. We would rather die than staying alone in the world. This is the miracle of the nature. We are the only in the species to use something called as “smile”. This is the sole existence of all these social networking sites.
An employee from Google, a graduate from MIT and many more brainchild started these sites .. Orkutting... Facing the book... Hi5… Stylefm….give my space. It’s certain that until the human beings are hungry for life these companies won’t lose the demand unless there is a stiff competition from the newcomers.
Millions of youths sit in front of the computer browsing these sites. Things they would do while they are browsing...
i. Checking the scraps@Orkut.com or the wall@facebook.com
ii. Accepting the friend requests or inviting the friends.
iii. Going through the useless time killing applications which certainly give the false results. Even then people believe them and publish so that it can kill the time of their friends.
iv. Getting confused with the celebrity profile pictures and opening unknown profiles to view the profile and sending a request if it turns to be a hot chick/cool dude.
v. Thinking most of the time about the status bar for your own profile (which turns to be unnoticed most of all the time.)
vi. Uploading the picture and thinking all the time for each picture about its caption.
vii. Seeing all the friends’ picture and again thinking all the time to comment on the picture.
viii. Later comes some more things.. changing the themes, profile edits etc etc
ix. Visiting the communities and playing silly games in those communities and visiting the profiles of the few selected people.
x. Framing the eccentric questions for the communities and sometimes forming new communities itself and promoting it among the people to join.
xi. Banishing the hated communities and again promoting those communities to mark as the spam.
Is anyone of the above stated Crucial for living?
People will never understand that, they are literally killing their most precious time during which they could have done much better. But at the end of the day, we realize that it was not worth spending time with those sites. Again the next day same loop continues. After all …“Err is to Human”.
