	      <title>iPhone 5C video leaks ahead of event</title>
	      <link>http://htcpedia.com/news/iPhone-5C-video-leaks-ahead-of-event/</link>
<description>Apple is set to unveil to iPhone 5S and 5C and an event tomorrow, which means that Apple fans are doing everything they can to spoil as much of the announcement as possible. C Technology has posted a clip of the 5C in action, and even has a nice close up of the blue version. People expecting something radically different from Apple's budget iPhone will be disappointed, as the 5C remains as staunchly iPhone-y as ever.

Although C Technolgoy is currently down, you can head over to Macrumors to get a good look at the 5C. The 5C is expected to launch as a cheaper version of the iPhone 5, and will use more plastic to keep the cost down. The 5S, which is also expected to make its official debut tomorrow, is set to be Apple's successor to the iPhone 5. Substantial rumors say that a fingerprint sensor will be in play.

The iPhone 5, on the other-hand, is rumored to be discontinued. An odd move, for sure, and if true perhaps Apple will be able to shine some light on it during tomorrow's presentation. The 5C marks a tremendous occasion for Apple, as they have previously ignored the budget phone market. The 5C is rumored to launch in multiple bright colors, while the 5S will also supposedly offer more colors other than the standard black and white.

<title>The HTC One Mini is Here</title>
	      <link>http://htcpedia.com/news/The-HTC-One-Mini-is-Here/</link>
<description>HTC have officially unveiled the little sibling to the HTC One, the HTC One Mini. The Mini will launch at a cheaper price-point and should suit those that found the HTC One to be a tad on the large side. In order to shrink down a few things had to be sacrificed, and so the Mini sports a 1.4GHz dual-core processor instead of the 1.7GHz quad-core processor of the normal One.

Also worth noting is that the display takes a hit and it taps out at 720p. The BoomSound speaker feature that HTC has been lauded for is thankfully sicking around, as is the Ultrapixel camera. In order to squeeze everything into a smaller package and save on costs, the HTC One Mini will incorporate more poly-carbonate plastic but will still be mostly aluminum.

Even though the HTC One has been performing well, it hasn't been enough to save the company just yet. Of course, the recent failure of the HTC First hasn't exactly helped. The HTC One Mini will hopefully be able to fill whatever need the HTC One hasn't been able to.

HTC have no announced a solid release date, but they expect the HTC One Mini to launch worldwide this August. The price also remains a mystery, but expect to be at least a little cheaper than the regular HTC One. HTCpedia will be carrying HTC One Mini products, so stay tuned for more info on that.

<title>Amazon Slashing HTC One Price on Friday</title>
	      <link>http://htcpedia.com/news/Amazon-Slashing-HTC-One-Price-on-Friday/</link>
<description>For one day only starting this Friday Amazon will be cutting the price of the HTC One by 50%. To those of you on the fence, you now have no excuse left. This deal is good for Sprint and AT&amp;T customers that are eligible for an upgrade. New customers, however, will get an even sweeter deal: the HTC One for $79. No, you can't beat that with a stick.

Of course, if you find the current model of the One to be too large for your small hands, you could always wait for the release of the Mini One.

<title>HTC One Mini in the Works</title>
	      <link>http://htcpedia.com/news/HTC-One-Mini-in-the-Works/</link>
<description>Is the HTC One simply too large for you? Well, don't worry, because a smaller one will be coming your way. Technically this isn't official news, but it is sourced from two different people at HTC. The HTC One Mini is said to launch in August, so expect an official announcement shortly. The HTC One Mini will feature a smaller display and generally lower specs. Expect a lower price-point, and hopefully the Mini One will be able to attack the market from a way that the full-sized version isn't hitting.

<title>HTC COO Steps Down After a Solid May</title>
	      <link>http://htcpedia.com/news/HTC-COO-Steps-Down-After-a-Solid-May/</link>
<description>Sometimes things get better for HTC, but for the most part they just keep getting worse. HTC COO Matthew Costello has stepped down after joining in 2010. For anyone keeping track, Costello now joins an alarmingly long, and growing, list of HTC executives that have departed the company recently. So, yeah, that's not so good.

In other news, HTC had a pretty solid May.They reported a 48% increase in sales, which is certainly nothing to scoff at. Of course, the HTC One is still trailing behind the Galaxy S4, despite critical opinion siding with the One. Things might look even better if the HTC First was a hit, but, well, ya know.

<title>HTC One Officially Launching on Verizon this Summer</title>
	      <link>http://htcpedia.com/news/HTC-One-Officially-Launching-on-Verizon-this-Summer/</link>
<description>Verizon Wireless took to Twitter today to announce that a Verizon version of the HTC One will be launching some time this summer. Patient Verizon customers that haven't jumped ship to pick up the One on another carrier will surely be singing in the streets. No specifics were announced; no date, price, or storage. All the details will be figured out later, but for now, rejoice!

Oddly enough this announcement comes after Verizon previously stated that if the One were to come out on the network there would be some fanfare. They might still save the fanfare for when they do announcement said details. Either way, it's been hard, frustrating wait, but it's ending soon.

	      <title>HTC One Nexus Incoming</title>
	      <link>http://htcpedia.com/news/HTC-One-Nexus-Incoming/</link>
<description>Android purists have a reason to celebrate today: HTC has announced that Google will be offering the HTC One in Nexus form. The device was shown off today at Google's D11 tech conference. The HTC One Nexus will run Android as &quot;originally intended,&quot; with no carrier bloatware. This cleaner and clear version of Android won't include features like BlinkFeed or other HTC designs. This way you'll be able to get of what the One has to offer in as pure a form as possible.

The HTC One Nexus will debut at the Google Store on June 26th for $599

<title>HTC First Not Launching in the UK</title>
	      <link>http://htcpedia.com/news/HTC-First-Not-Launching-in-the-UK/</link>
<description>You have to admit, it's at least a little surprising, right? Well, maybe not. The HTC First was set to launch in the UK, but Facebook has nixed those plans. That's right, Facebook. Not HTC. This is in no doubt due to the horrendous situation of the First in the U.S. In other words, it's bombed pretty hard.

Facebook is instead going to focus on Facebook Home, the software that came pre-installed on the First. Facebook Home is currently available for a smattering of Android phones, but reviews have been mixed. Hopefully Facebook will work hard to improve the experience, as it seems the HTC First is now dead.

	      <title>HTCPedia at CTIA</title>
	      <link>http://htcpedia.com/news/HTCPedia-at-CTIA/</link>
<description>You read that right, friends. CTIA is here. While not the largest trade show out there, it's still an important stop for anyone in the wireless market and the overall largest in North America. Set up in the 80's as an international non-profit trade organization, CTIA is a trade show open to both the public and professionals concentrating on wireless communications. The show officially kicks off tomorrow and runs until the 23rd Las Vegas.

And this year, HTC's blood runs through the show. That may sound like an odd statement considering that HTC has literally no public presence at the event. Instead, they've been going about their business behind the scenes. HTC has a presence in the Hospitality Suit, which is closed to the public. Besides that they're a sponsor of the show and their logo can be found on the show badges. The badges, by the way, contain an NFC chip which leads to a download of an app for exchanging information with professional peers.

CTIA's relevance has been questioned recently, so it would be best for everyone if this year goes on without a hitch. Verizon will hold a conference and have a large presence, perhaps to be paired with a major announcement. The HTC One is on everyone's minds, and Verizon has stated that if they announce their version of the One it will come with a bang.

If HTC or Verizon makes a move during the show, we'll have it for you here.

In the meantime, you can fill all your HTC needs at the HTCPedia Shop.</description>

	      <title>Sprint HTC One Getting Update</title>
	      <link>http://htcpedia.com/news/Sprint-HTC-One-Getting-Update/</link>
<description>Sprint users are set to get a big HTC One update. This OTA update will improve both Zoe and BlinkFeed, as well as the sensitivity of the Home and Back buttons. The update will apparently be released in stages and you might be able to start grabbing it now. Everyone is going to have to sit this one out for now.

If only all carriers were created equally.

	      <title>AT&amp;T HTC One Gets a Backup App</title>
	      <link>http://htcpedia.com/news/HTC-One-Gets-a-Backup-App/</link>
<description>HTC has launched an official app to backup your precious data on the AT&amp;T HTC One. The device launched without it, but better late than never. The app is powered by Dropbox and has support for more than 150 different settings, including the usual fare such as various preferences, passwords, bookmarks and contacts. As of right now the app is only available for the AT&amp;T version of the One. The app is now available through the Google Play Store.

You can choose to perform either manual or automatic backups, or switch between the two if you really want to keep everyone on their toes. Other versions of the One are bound to get this app eventually, so at this point it's just a frustrating waiting game.

	      <title>HTC First Getting the Ax?</title>
	      <link>http://htcpedia.com/news/HTC-First-Getting-the-Ax/</link>
<description>Though still technically a rumor, I'm sure it wouldn't surprise anyone if it turned out to be true. The current rumor (which is spreading like wildfire) states that due to poor sales AT&amp;T will discontinue the First and all unsold units will be returned to HTC. It's been evident that the First hasn't been selling like hotcakes, and Facebook Home has also been getting mostly negative reviews.

It wasn't so long ago that we were clamoring for the rumored Facebook Phone, and now it looks like its tenure might be at an end. Only time will tell if this experiment was enough of a failure to scare Facebook out of future smartphone prospects. So all you First owners out there, feel free to start referring to your device as &quot;limited edition&quot; if it makes yourself feel better.

<title>HTC First Dead in the Water?</title>
	      <link>http://htcpedia.com/news/HTC-First-Dead-in-the-Water/</link>
<description>In case it wasn't at least semi-obvious by the recent drop in price, the HTC First has so far been a failure. Trip Chowdhry, a Global Equities Research analyst, estimates that the HTC First sold less than 10,000 upon its release. If that's true, it's horrible. Of course, it's only an estimate.

Chowdhry pins the low performance on a lack of &quot;cool factor.&quot; Apparently the full Facebook integration doesn't really count. He doesn't count Facebook out of the game just yet, stating that once Facebook Home reaches a wider following, things may iron out.

Facebook seems to be losing momentum in general, as millions of users from all over the world have been migrating to other services.

	      <link>http://htcpedia.com/news/Jelly-Bean-Update-for-HTC-Butterfly-Leaks/</link>
<description>The upcoming Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update for the HTC Butterfly has leaked online. The Butterfly is the international version of the Droid DNA, so this could serve as a precursor to what DNA users can expect. This update adds some HTC One features to the mix, such as BlinkFeed. Sense 5.1 will also be part of the update.

Fans of Zoe will be disappointed to hear that it will not be making the cut unless HTC chooses to add it before release. That also does not rule it out for a later update. Android 4.2.2 also adds shortcut and notification options.

<title>HTC Turns to Billboards in the UK</title>
	      <link>http://htcpedia.com/news/HTC-Turns-to-Billboards-in-the-UK/</link>
<description>HTC's marketing has so far been minimal, even though they've dropped the &quot;Quietly Brilliant&quot; moniker. A polarizing ad have so far been the most prominent outlet. Not so in the UK, where HTC has recently erected giant billboards in several UK cities. The HTC One has been selling well in North America so far without a huge ad campaign, but that doesn't mean we couldn't use some more marketing muscle over here.

Even though announced grown in April, they've still got a long way to go before they're anywhere near the top of the totem poll. The Galaxy S4 has so far not been received as well as the One. You know, in case anyone out there is keeping track.

<title>Yup, the HTC First is Now $.99</title>
	      <link>http://htcpedia.com/news/Yup-the-HTC-First-is-Now-99/</link>
<description>When the HTC First was announced, it was positioned as a mid-range device for Facebook lovers. Of course, when you're trying to get Facebook into as many hands as possible it helps to have a low price. And with that, the HTC First is now $.99 with a two-year contract from AT&amp;T. The word &quot;unbeatable&quot; gets thrown around a lot, but...yeah.

If you've been thinking about picking up the First, you now have no excuse. The off contract price has also been dropped from $450 to $350. HTC is now pushing this phone hard, but having Facebook consume your phone is not everybody's cup of tea. If it's yours, today's your day.
