Things have been pretty quite on the Window Mobile from for HTC lately. Yes, they did announce the HD Mini at MWC, but we really have not seen anything new since the introduction of the HD2 in the fall of 2009. HTC promised us that it would come to the U.S. market in 2010 and T-Mobile finally made the announcement the day before CES. but we’re still all wondering when the HTC HD2 will actually make it to T-Mobile stores. Late yesterday, T-Mobile put up a “coming soon” page on their site for the HD2. Now, a Tweet from @MobiTV seems to have finally given away the T-Mobile HTC HD2 release date, March 23.

So what’s the big deal? Windows Mobile is a dying OS isn’t it. All the cool kids are now walking around with Android phones. That may be true, but keep in mind that the HTC HD2 is running a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and it’s ready to playback all your pictures, videos and tv shows on its 4.3 inch 480 X 800 WVGA capacitive display. Think of it this way, you’ll have more than 2.5 times more pixels than your friends iPhone (384,000 pixels versus 144,000). Oh, and the reason @MobiTV gave away the release date for the T-Mobile HTC HD2 is because their Windows Mobile app will be pre-installed on the handset for all your TV streaming needs.

The new HTC Supersonic has finally made it into the wild! Ok, not really. We’ve seen renderings and even blurry-cam pictures of the Supersonic in the past, but this is the first time we can seen a video of the handset. If you were looking for a quick hands-on review, you’ve come to the wrong place. The video simply shows the Sprint HTC Supersonic while it’s booting up and a quick look at the back of the handset. It’s a bit off that the person shooting the video is wearing gloves, but that’s about the most exciting thing we were able to spot. With CTIA right around the corners, I’m sure we’ll be seeing a lot more of the Snapdragon powered HTC Supersonic.

Update: we did some quick searching on YouTube and spotted a second video of the HTC Supersonic. This second video actually shows the handset on, though all we really see if the camera app.

Update: it’s been brought to our attention that though the video is labeles at the Supersonic, it is infact the HTC In redible which is expected to launch on Verizon soon. Thanks guys for pointing it out.

I’m sure we’ve all wondered what it would be like to travel through space. We typically think of space as a weightless vacuum where we can float free without the influence of gravity. But what happens when you visit another planet? Neil Fraser was wondering the same thing, but he was more interested in what would happen to a Lava Lamp on another planet. Neil took the time to build a centrifuge in his house to help simulate the gravitation pull on Jupiter (3 G’s). In order to assist him on his project, Neil opted to enlist the most advanced handset currently available on the market, the HTC built Nexus One.

We could explain how the experiment works, but I think it’ll be a lot more fun if you watch it for yourself.

You know we’re inching our way closer to the launch of the HTC Legend when we spot official review units of the handset in the wild. The lucky editors of SlashGear over in the UK have just received their review unit of the HTC Legend and have kindly caught their first impressions of the handset on video. The first video simply shows of the non-descript box and its content, while the second gives a quick overview of a few new features included in Android 2.1 and HTC Sense.

The only thing we spotted that we did not already know is that the HTC legend does not support multi-touch (pinch-to-zoom) in Google Maps. We also suspect that the Navigation feature is also non-existent since Google is yet to announce European support for turn-by-turn navigation through Google Maps.

HTC’s Legend will be launching in Europe in early April from a handful of carriers. If you can’t wait till then and want to pre-order the phone now, head over to Expansys where you can drop $620 for the phone and expect it to show up in the mail around April 14th

I’m sure a few Verizon customers are jsut itching to get their hands on the upcoming Nexus One. We still don’t know what the launch date will be for the N1, but speculation points to the end of March. Unfortunately, I’m not usre how many will be willing to drop their money on the Nexus One when the Verizon HTC Incredible is lurking right around the corner. For all intensive purposes, the HTC Incredible in the same as the HTC Desire (which is essentialt the same as the Nexus One) which was unveiled by HTC last month at Mobile World Congress. We actually got out first glimpse of the handset a in early February with a few decent pictures and some pretty bad video.

The Verizon HTC Incredible features the same 3.7 inch AMOLED display, 1Gz Snapdragon processor, Android 2.1 with HTC Sense, Optical Joystick, and 5MP camera as the Desire. The only real difference between the two phones is the exterior shell, radio chipsets (CDMA versus GSM), and maybe the allotted internal memory. The Verizon HTC Incredible release date is still under wraps, but I’d venture to guess we could see it show up in Verizo nstores in late April of early May with a price right around $200 with a new contract.

Though we don’t have the official measurements of the Verizon HTC Incredible, these pictures clearly show that the phone is slightly wider but a lot shorter that the T-Mobile G1. We’ve definitely come a long way in the past 18 months.

By now, we all know that HTC is working with Verizon and Sprint to bring Android 2.1 (with Sense) to the Eris and the Hero. We’ve seen a few leaked versions of Android 2.1 with Sense in the past (including the infamous Espresso build) but this is the first build we have seen with the Eris’ name attached.

The ROM was leaked last night on XDA-Developers by someone who claims to work for HTC in China. At first glance, there were a few issues with the files, but after some quick work and tweaks, the developers were able to get the ROM loaded up on the HTC DROID Eris. A few developers are already hard at work, trying to port the build over to the CDMA Sprint Hero.

From reading through the forums, this appears to be the same build of Android 2.1 with Sense as we saw of the HTC Legend that was unveiled at Mobile World Congress, though there are a few things that have been left out (live wallpapers). There is no indication that this is the final 2.1 build for the HTC Eris or when the final build will be pushed out to the Verizon handset.

NOTE: Leading any ROM onto your phone could cause it to stop working. Proceed at your own risk.

If you have a DROID Eris and want to give it a try, there’s what you need to know:

Ok everyone you wanted a tutorial here you go.
