On Valentine's Day, the little miss had been buggering me about a gift for her two teachers at school. Told her the day before, a personalised card with cute red heart cut outs and handwritten warm notes is okay. The stuff we do during my elementary days. We would buy red art paper and cut into heart shapes and paste into white bond paper. Would write a personal message unmindful of erasures and not-so-pretty scribbles. But, it was A-okay, then. Wasn't it now?

The little girl wouldn't buy my idea. Buy something to give to my teachers, gave a sharp "command". Last Christmas, she gifted both teachers, pencil holders and the security guard, face towels. Something usable. She continued to whine. Suggesting a plastic made red roses that sells for 10-20 pesos a piece at the local market. Aw! Surely, I didn't give in.

Then, I saw these perfume sampler that were sitting in the bathroom caddy (serves as air freshener there^_^). These were given by sissy-in-law (of course, as always) as part of the Christmas package she sent two Christmases ago.

Most are not my "specific" brand, I had to give few to my nieces. Except the D&G Light Blue samplers which tops as my uber fave scent. So, I asked the little girl if it be okay if we gave few to her two teachers. She immediately gave a nod ^_^.

Few tips I'd like to share what to do with perfumes (or other gift/pasalubong stuff) in case you didn't want to resell them or it stood as "white elephant" in your vanity.

perfumes (unused or those old scents you have) can be used as air freshener. When your Glade runs off its scent or are ever tired of the citrusy commercial air freshener, perfumes can be perfect substitutes.
whiff a little on your seat cushions, throw pillows, even on couches, edge of your curtains, bed spreads...guest will be delighted to the sophisticated scent of your home. They would want to imagine, Am I at Rustan's?
Be careful not to spray directly on fabrics, as perfumes can cause stain. Must be the oil.
And, by the way, because perfumes are made from essential oils, scents are long-lasting. Especially the Eau de Parfum.
Only recently, I happen to spray perfume, too, on candles and potpourris which scent have already fade off. A few whiffs ons wax candle will surely add relaxing feel to any room.

This is tried and tested. Surely as I am sitting and writing this post in our room, I can smell the Juicy Couture (the pink ones in the above photo) I sprayed yesterday in a DIY potpourri.
And, it continues to mystify my senses and perhaps ignite some passion.

red lips on V-Day

Not so sure if I am ready for this.
A red lipstick.
Dhemz sent this all the way from Texas. Part of a package she sent me which arrived on the day of my birthday last October. Thanks again, girl. Lab yah!
Now, did I say I love lipstick. I don't do eyeshadow, eyeliner, a little blush is fine with me. But, lipstick's one thing that's on my vanity agenda. Color choices I have were nude, browns, peach, LOTS OF PINKS, but never RED.
Maybe the love-hate relationship with a red lippie has something to do with (1) I have "morena" skin. I used to believed RED would make me more "maitim". (2) Being very vibrant and very bold in color, I shun red lippie because I always do not want to be "noticed". Hence, I always prefer subtle colors.
But, then, as it is the RED MONTH now, I dare challenge myself.

Valentine's Day means RED DAY. It is! Look at how vibrant this Wet n Wild lipstick that Dhemz sent me. It is so easy to apply. Great coverage in just one application.

pre-Valentine treat

It's Valentine's Day. I do wished everybody had spent the day with their love ones. As I did. But, nothing fancy. No fancy dinner. It was a weekday. A workday. A busy day, as always. But, we do have our "date" last weekend. We went to our favorite pizza place, ate some pasta and pepperoni pizza. It was fun. We had hoped to finished the day with a feel-good movie, but, the movie lined up in the theater did not appeal to our taste. We just decided to visit a home depot. Hoping to find anything we like for our home.
I had been planning on purchasing bathroom lighting fixtures for the longest time now. The wall sconce that husband had placed in our bathroom had been broken few months back. There were too many designs, I had the hardest time choosing. Husband said, if I were to choose one, I had to look for something similar to the lighting in our bathroom. And, perhaps, one that could reflect light from the bathroom mirror that hung on its adjacent wall.
It's always pretty helpful to have someone around to help me decide which one to pick. I can be too fickle minded when shopping for stuff. All stuff. I was very thankful that weekend, the husband was very cooperative. I never heard him complain of the loot we brought home that weekend.

What else could I say? Another item again from down under. This was part of SIL's package last year, but, then, she kept sending on many other stuff, even my skin does not know which to use first :) There's actually pretty few "kikay" stuff in my vanity that were "white elephant". Diet and exercise works well. Nothing beats a good and healthy diet coupled with exercises to balance our system.
Stress management. We do often hear, "It takes more muscles to frown than to smile." Take it, seriously.
Hydrate. Our skin needs to breathe. Drink more fluids (not energy drinks which were loaded with sugars, aha).

30th December 2011. When hubs' sibling and families had a reunion of sorts. And, boy, did we enjoy the night. It is food fiesta, story-loaded events, added games for the kiddos to enjoy, beer session for the guys, and, flip-flops parade...for us, funny ladies ^_^.

No, we didn't planned this. It's just coincidental. We laughed and suggested it necessitates a photo op. Even if our feet were dusty and ugly.

Far right was my foot, with my Ipanema Ritmo Platform, next to mine is my SIL's with her Grendha, and the last three were nieces in Ipanemas, too.

At least, I am not one with a love-affair for flip-flops.

Most gifts were left unwrapped. Except for our little girl who wanted her gifts be wrapped with pretty Christmas papers. All others, were left as it is. Because, items/gifts were bought days before Christmas and all stuff were "ASKED" so that regrets will be avoided.

Black & Decker Mixer for me; Converse basketball shoes for the son; Mossimo shirts for my two "boylets", the Samsung Galaxy Y for the eldest daughter; bag, tops, ballet flat and other kikay stuff for the little daughter; and, Ipanema and (2)Grendha flip flops...

As much as I got excited over the Samsung plasma tv and the mixer that came into realization last December, I got too excited over this Black/Silver Ipanema Ritmo Plat wedge. Couldn't wait to try it out the moment it was handed to me.

I always had love affair for Ipanemas compared to its competitors. Very chic designs and its wedges/platform heels gives a sleek and sexy look on both feet. Nice choice, hubs. You could have gone off to MOA :) Uber thanks.

This is the third black Ipanema I looted. One was a flat one, the other one is a wedge type. Both pairs have been continuously giving comfort to my odd feet. Hence, the choice for the brand. Plus, Ipanema's easier to clean. Just wipe it off with either wet or dry cloth. It's good to go. Whereas, its biggest competitor, I find it harder to clean. Dirt cling unto the rubber you need a brush with soap to clean it out. I swear on this. Look at this white/gold pair.

For pricing, the other brand is pricier. Oh, I must say, all branded flip flops command steep prices. You shall say, they're only plain slippers, haha. But, then, I'd say, the first pairs I have bought in 2007 were still in tip top shape up to now. Rain or shine, no deformities, prints still in tact :) Promise ^_^

setting goals ahead

The goal (the word is something I have to give meaning to^_^) for this year is to eat less. Oh, I have read couple of blogs about this same goal, too. Hope we can all succeed :) Another one is to buy less and less clothing. Last weekend had given me time to declutter my cabinet space and I did haul up a bag full of unused clothing. Yeah, I did spend couple of hours thinking many times if I really had to take them away from me. It was such a "hurtful process". Ha ha.

But, then, I did promised a cousin who came by on New Year's day that I will be junking off old clothes and other stuff. She will be picking up the stuff this weekend. It was never too hard after all when you thought something you hold onto (and left unused in the shelves) will be used by someone, especially when they have less to buy themselves new ones.

Eat less and buy unnecessary stuff this year. Uh oh. Crossing my fingers.

I hoped the "buying process" ends up last holidays where I zeroed off my Paypal account. Swoosh! It was down to just $0.16 few days before Christmas. I got guilty, I wasn't able to lend a friend who were asking for $5. Aw! I am Bad! For a blogger who earns small time only, it would take me considerable number of opps for me to earn up seven thousand pesos ($165 @P42 exchange rate on average), the amount needed for me to withdraw from Paypal without charging me fifty pesos ^_^. Hence, when the amount reached P7k before Christmas day, I was in seventh heaven :) Who wouldn't need dough on holidays? Especially that food and grocery items were most needed.

For that reason, I am wishing I could get more opps this year. I know that would mean extra effort toiling on the computer to get the ranking going. How to? That remains the question.

And, so, after spending on the food items, I get to part with what remains in the PP loot...

Sadly, I used to be Medium on Kamiseta items...tsk, tsk...god of the diet, please let the magic you cast on Jessica Alba's stunning figure cast on me, too ^_^.

Forget the vanities. I am just very thankful, the long planning of staging a get-together with couple of college batchmates pushed through. We may be small in number but the laughs were almost thunderous. The too many stories told trying to bridge twenty years of life right after college were too much it will surely take forever. Our voices nearly blasted the cozy space of Vicentico's Restaurant. It was an afternoon filled with renewed friendship.

How long have I been off here? The past holidays have kept me busy. When at home, it is either my hands were geared up with pot holders and busy concocting foodies. My, have I told anyone that my family love foodies with much fervor, I wanted to resign as their chef^_^. Uh, oh.

And, just as everyone had been the last holidays, events were abundant last December. With birthday invitations coming off almost every other day, not to mention a wedding that we had to make an alibi for not attending. And, get-together with friends were the most fun. Imagine seeing friends or classmates again after eon of years, haha. And, oh, I wouldn't forget the Christmas parties we attended where we do received cutie gifts, foodie gifts, and fruity ones, too :)

And, lastly, the family gatherings which made us felt the true meaning of Christmas. Giving. Sharing. Reuniting. Loving.

For all the blessing the holidays had brought, I am thanking everyone who made each of those days wonderfully bliss!

...those were my huge alibi for my absences at the blogging world ^_^

It'll be three days before Christmas. People were still busy queuing at cashier's counters in malls. Last minute shoppers, I guess. May be there were some who were completing up their gift list. Glad, I am done early with shopping.

Last week, I took a respite off from blogging (yipee!, I had survived a week of no "clicking") and went ahead with completing the things the kids "wanted" for Christmas. The week was also spent attending family gathering and a get-together with college buddies. Those were the busiest days of my December. And, though, those days were kinda tough on my "pocket" and physically draining, glad that I have met my schedules on time.

It is always imperative to shop earlier, when malls and supermarket aisles were too wide, even two push carts can be placed side by side :) .Checking on the stuff under the Christmas tree and those stuff that we bought for the kids, the camera whore in me had fun time shooting for possible posts in my blogs.

But, then, with the recent happening, the catastrophic damage that typhoon Sendong brought to our brothers in the south, it struck me bad...why happen in an untimely manner? When Christmas were just few days away?

Christmas is a tradition of gift-giving. Of buying stuff to give to family and friends. Of showing pretty stuff stuck under each Christmas tree. Honestly, I had couple of stuff to "brag" about...of finding discounted gift items, of buying a whole lot of extravagance that were meant for this Christmas.

And, yet...I LOSE THE COURAGE OF POSTING ABOUT...What is there to BRAG about, when people were in dire need? That even clean clothes and water to drink were scarce?

My heart is sinking...yet, IT IS CHRISTMAS.

more ukay tops

The main reason why me and the daughter frequents Ukay-Ukay (used clothes) is for us to find stuff that we could sell, perhaps, at her online shop. Then, the shop gets inactive because of the sudden drop of pretty pieces that were hard to find these days.
These black and white tank tops were the last of our neat finds...

The black lacey top fitted on the half-bodied mannequin we used for displaying our wares^_^...

And, this white racer back top...this one's a great find. I felt that this one's unused. Really. The hem's not worn out. The label says its from Korea...

Er, the two tops were photograph as is after finding both at an ukay shop. Not yet laundered. And, after dousing off with warm water and soaked overnight with powdered detergent...take a look at how the black top here looked...while the white top here, which I paired off with a Bermuda shorts.

That's how it ended when I could find something worth wearable even at how cheap they were. Or, that they were from ukay-ukay. For 60 pesos for that black top and 90 pesos for the white one, would anyone willing to grab them at thrift stores?

I AM. Who cares?

clinique gift pack

After a recent trip to the salon for a much needed facial, I started using the Cliniques SIL gave me on my birthday...

The 1st tube (from the left) was a hand cream not from Clinique^_^.

The 2nd item (green tube), Clinique's 7-day rinse off scrub cream, $18.50

3rd item (blue tube) Clinique Sparkle Skin Body Exfoliator cream, $21

4th item (yellow tube) Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing lotion, $13. The pump version cost $24.50

5th item (the smallest tube) Clinique Eyes Serum De-Puffing Massage.

I went on to try this facial cream. I like the fact that it is a rinse-off formula. Just wipe it off with a tissue and I'm done with two basic steps in skin care: 1. Cleansing and 2. Exfoliating. Both achieved in this tube.

Face swollen and red after a salon trip. Ouchy! But, it always feels refreshed after the blackheads/whiteheads were removed. Have applied the facial scrub, I sure hope it can do magic after 7 days ???

The 3rd step should be to moisturize. My dry skin needs a lot of hydration. Other creams were too heavy on the skin, it invites more dirt which can clogged pores. Plus, I like the way the products were free from fragrance. I do not smell like I doused off with alcohol ^_^.

The cream's very light and hopefully will effect a lasting smoothness on my skin. Pretty please, please...

pretty lace camisole for daughter

The forthcoming holiday has been putting my schedules pretty hectic. Last week had been pretty lazy, by choice:) This week, I had to get things done. The holiday season is a tradition full of festivities. Next week will be a busy one with a scheduled friend's get-together and family reunion, I had to fill up the pantry with food items. More importantly, I had to finished shopping for the remaining presents to be tucked under the Christmas tree. There were few names still missing on the list. Had to get something for the kids, too.

Shopping is fun but can be very exhausting. Wandering through the many aisles not knowing what particular stuff to buy is time consuming. Planning and listing what stuff to shop saves time and less of a headache. Shopping malls tends to be crammed with busy shoppers at around this time.
It was easy finding this lace camisole with spaghetti straps. Very sexy and feminine.

I thought, it would be a perfect present for my teenage daughter. She do loved tank tops that goes well underneath her cardigans. The season brought colder winds, it will pretty warm up her up on going to the university. She will squeal in excitement seeing candy colored lacey tops under the Christmas tree.

Now, I can proceed onto the next schedule.

How to prevent common razor woes

Now that the good hubby had hesitantly "disposed off" his good ol' razor, he had been extremely overjoyed and ecstatic in using the new safety razor we bought last month. Thanks be to my constant buggering, he heed the advice.

Though, critiques on first few days of usage infuriated me, as he would constantly show me few razor burns after using the new razor. Soon enough, he seemed to forget his whining. Must soon he came to start a new love affair with his new tool? Especially seeing him came out of the bathroom clean-shaven, as always is, free of cuts and burns, plus, I overhear him humming a pretty cool song. Hmmm.

What gives?

He was too quick to tell me that he gets to ditched off common problems that occur in shaving.

Here's three of his worst shaving nightmares.

1. razor burn. Often manifest as pimple-like redness on the face or areas of frequently shaved hair that appears after shaving. Often itchy and may be inflamed but can be prevented by using alcohol-free shaving products to soften hair before shaving.

2. razor bumps. Bumps may occur because of improper shaving technique. Hubby shaves every other day or three at the most. This would allow hair to grow to a certain length so as to avoid hair to "sink" into the skin, resulting to an inflammation. In case lesions have occurred, hubby used creams to hasten healing.

3. Cuts. Cutting mechanism provides safety usage in modern razors nowadays. To prevent this, hubby choose quality razors with blades that could provide ease when it glides through the skin. There are also blades with aloes that add protection to the skin.

Hubby's never been happier with his shaving routine.

techs and a pampering

This morning, I had found couple of messages from LIZ, who did tell me that 6 out of 8 posts I "ghost write" for her were rejected for the nth time^_^. I replied that I couldn't make revisions because I needed to go out. Were in fact, I had completely lost track what revisions should be needed. Me and LIZ had proofreaded each posts swearing that the posts were okay, by our standard^_^. Not quite for the other party, I guess.

Sorry LIZ for letting you down. I'll keep the "reminders" at bay^_^. Most of the times, I get "brain-dead" after writing out on a certain subject and when I had to "repost" it again, not an iota of fresher ideas ever came out. It all goes back to the same words and phrases. "I'm on the edge", to copy Lady Gaga's hit.

Last weekend was declared "no-writing, no-browsing holiday" for me. I thought, if someone would liken me to a computer, perhaps, I needed to be right-clicked a hundred times. Had to be REFRESHED! Needed enough myelination production to be able to function and think well.

Nutty nuts!

Then, Monday, that was yesterday, I'm glad that I had a day's full ahead of me. I needed to see a different world. World that doesn't revolve around the web^_^ Had to accompany a friend in buying a desktop computer. Computers?

She bought this 30k desktop with that HP 23 LED monitor. Told my friend even if I would have that money (which I wouldn't have, anyways) I wouldn't "splurge" on that piece. I am still toiling with my desktop old to be that unit's great great grandfather!

Where that the kind of change I looked for? Humor me^_^

Next stop after the friend infused "pesosses" on the cashier's registry, same friend treated me for a lunch fit for the "mega actress" fridge-type body size. Ha. Ha. Sorry for being too scornful today. Satire is my other excuse for the lack of "artistic juices". My apologies again.

After the burping, me and the friend parted ways, as I have Monday errands to do.

Errands that worsen the worst of any migraines I had. Long queue at Smart Center where I asked account related queries.Had used up 35 minutes on that small office where my queries didn't last up five minutes. Aw!

AND, yes, another 40 minutes were ~~wasted~~ queuing and filling up forms at the Sun Cellular office where I had applied for phone re-contract, as per daughter's request because she's the one using Sun service. Thanks be to Dennis of Sun Cellular Robinsons Pacific Mall branch. He's very sweet and accommodating, my developing migraine fizzled off. He knew I waited that long. This should served as a warning to those who have Wi-Fi enabled phone or the newer Android babies...CLOSE BROWSER AFTER USING AND DISCONNECT YOUR PHONE FROM DATA APPLICATIONS.

Anyhow, after filling up forms and showing some ID's, went home with this unit...

1395 pesos! Would not take it. Promise. Take that 40% off the price which daughter availed of in buying this havs at All Flip-flops branch in Baguio City. Still pricey at 800-peso something. Would you buy a pair?

However, this colorful paper bag arrived last weekend when daughter gets home in time for my dad's first year death anniversary. ..

Honestly, with that price, I still find it expensive...for one thing, it does not lived up to my expectation. ..

But, then, who couldn't be happier...

Havs fall short of what I really wanted it to be...more stylish, more ergonomic design...just like Ipanema's GB wedge series...

If it could at least cut its original price by 70%, I'd give it a 6. Let's see its next releases...

For now, I'll let my feet savor the pesosses daughter had paid for this Havaianas High Light Spring.

By the way, daughter bought for herself two pairs of plain havs at 400 pesos each. She uses "tsinelas" in going to school^_^. Talked about university freedom :)

a day for window shopping

There's no luck finding the perfect new jeans for me today.

Daughter had hiked off to Baguio earlier. But, before I had dropped her off to the van going up the mountain, we headed off to her dentist to check her braces. Then, we had off, again, to Karate Kid for a quick lunch. How I wished there could be other resto option serving Jap food here in our place. My mouth water seeing the TV ad of Tokyo Tokyo Bento. Hayzzz. Karate Kid's okay. But, not A-okay as before.

Sorry.

Then, what else would a mother-daughter team do at a mall? Window shop. No less. With no particular thing in mind. Okay, I said, I fail at finding new jeans. I did try fitting at few shops. The gray one at Penshoppe which cost 999 pesos fits me well on a first try. Then, trying to find out other option, we did find one also at Jag jeans, with the same price as Penshoppe's. Living up to the terms, we "window shop" a little more...Been to Guess, as well, where I did find my style for 3200 pesos. Yay! My EON would definitely bleed^_^. Then, off to Levis. The one that I fitted sagged on my buttocks. That's 2700 pesos.

Thumbs down.

We circled twice past different shops. Carrying empty bags. And, more confused. What's it gonna be? Clothing hunting has always been one of my dilemma. Not quite when I am paying for Ukay-ukay. But, when prices would go as high as 500 and up...GOTTA THINK TEN TIMES OR MORE...

One of the reason why I didn't want hubby as shopping buddy. He tends to get bored easily. He didn't have the patience to wait outside fitting rooms. He hated all the more the fact that I ended up with nothing after hours inside a fitting room. With the teenage daughter alongside with me, even window shopping could be FUN and EXCITING ^_^.

Sad to say, daughter had to leave. The last service van leaves at 4pm for Baguio City. U.P Baguio had no classes every Monday except for special examinations. The reason why daughter had traveled on a Monday.

Had no more shopping buddy. Er, window shopping...

Nevertheless, the day was GREAT!

A shopper can have all the fun looking and finding the holiday gift shopping. These are the three things customers want: exceptionally low prices, items are in-stock and ready to ship, and a convenient shopping experience.

If one is looking for that best Black Friday deal, go out now and find that srh shoes. Who knows one gets lucky enough to find the items on the 50% discounted items. Costumers looking for dekline shoes should better get up and running to the nearest retailer who offer once in a blue moon shopping event. As always, early bird catches more worms. Who knows, you might be more than lucky as few retailers offer freebies to early patrons.

The week after my birth date, and, the day, I got to Unionbank to get few "blessings" I've earned doing "paid posts", got me this Mossimo brown top for 599 pesos. It's regular price is 899 pesos. Were it not for the discount (ALWAYS), I would gladly turn my back on it :) Because after carting off few things at the grocery shop, the "dough" slips fast my hand onto the cashier. What's left for me were few hundred pesos...don't want to lose the chance. I had to have something to remind me of how I worked late at night thinking what to post, especially on subject I know nothing about ^_^

The discounted Mossimo top with low decolletage and two low dainty pockets on a reluctant model. Aye!

Havaianas sale

Not really a fan of Havaianas. I kinda prefer the other much hype flipflops brand because it has more fun and colorful designs and their wedges which were modeled by no less than Giselle B were my faves. ^_^

Look here, my first ever brown/gold peacock designed havs bought in 2008 at Duty Free Fiesta Mall for $12 where at E-bay at that time it cost as much as 1080 pesos. Slim havs that time came in limited edition. And, much hype among girls (and feeling young like me^_^), stocks in big malls easily runs out, especially my size, US 7.

But, then, after a year, look at what happened to the $12 flipflops...

poor thing...that ended my love affair with the brand...

Then came, the phone call from daughter, "Mom, All Flip-Flops were having a month long sale".

After Skype-ing and selecting my choice thru her stolen cellphone photos at the All Flip-Flops branch in Session Road, I chose this one...Havaianas High Light Spring in gold straps. Will cost me around 800 pesos when she comes home over the weekend...

Hmmm, still pricey? Yeah, I know...and, I find the design too simple whereas the competitor's high wedges were sooo fab...but, they ain't got no sale coming ^_^. There's the edge.

If there wouldn't be any sale in the mall, I wouldn't step on a department store, unless for window shopping^_^. Find me these items on the sale rack. Lee shirts for the 2 guys in the house @300php each. RRJ denim pants for 650php for the big lad, and, two leggings for the little miss at 50% off the price. And, the pink cropped top which I bought at the nearby "tiangge" for 80 pesos. Sweet!

Wasn't it for the price, I would let this pass. Honestly, I didn't know what to do with it. Oh, yes, this super flimsy piece can be worn over long tees or spaghetti tops. It can be worn also as beach cover-up over a bikini top. I'm sure there's more...

What draws me more to buy the top is that pink rosette embellishment. Nothing flashy. Just girly.

more surprises

Didn't I say I hate surprises? "Aatakihin ako sa puso^_^"

But, October really blasted me on with surprises one after the other.

This one, which arrived the day before my "big day" came as the biggest one. Never expected this. "YOU" really blow my heart away, girl:)

We just came back from the rice fields (twas harvest season here). Pardonne. And, the kids were more than excited as I am, were asking for my permission to let them open the package. "Not until after the photo ops", I said. So there...

The ginormous surprise!

How'd ya know my size, girl? Fits to a T. A turquoise halter top. Very sexy on the arms. I wished I have the arms of Nicole Scherzinger. And, the lippies? Aye. They're my waterloo!

And, the card which bore a personal message, it almost made me wept! Blissfully happy. That's how redundant am I when truly blessed to have been carefully thought of by a blogpal so sweet...

Loved the stickers...this one's magnetized on the fridge...temporarily...until I could find where to stick 'em permanently:)

Ever so humble...giving and yet, THANKING. No. Gracias to you, mi bonita. Bless you forever, I pray.

Getting ready for an early dinner at SIL's place...

Paired off the same tank top with a soft lavender chiffon skirt and a purple knitted cardigan to hide off the soggy arms. Besides, hubby's old school. Despite my eccentricities, he keeps reminding me to wear appropriate clothing^_^.

wanted: perfect dress to wear

Funny e, but, today's Girls Talk focused on dresses to wear (wished for^_^) these holidays. Very timely, I guess. It is never too early to plan what foods to cook during the long holidays and what items to buy as gifts to family and friends and aptly, too, as yesterday, as eldest daughter were packing her luggage preparing to hike off to her adopted city at the City of Pines and off to perhaps, her last semester at her beloved oblation, we were discussing purely "vanities". That scared off the dad, who went off to the kitchen, leaving "us girls" to talked about "expenses", as he butted in. That what girls are for :)

The three short weeks of school break brought daughter and me to "window shop" because we haven't actually found what we're looking for. She wanted a nice dress for Christmas and SO DO I. The last two dresses I had bought were these...

This one's a cheap 400-peso find at Divisoria. Besides the fact I do not have the extra dough to spend on designer brands, I can be just as happy with cheap finds. That's how simple and cheap my taste preference was :)

The one below is another result of impulsive buy bust coupled with bad taste. Wanting a dress to wear at a Barangay Induction of Officers, and, not knowing FAMOUS BRAND STYLES AND ITS PATENT, for the love of plaids and lines, bought this piece at a Korean shop for 1200 pesos and strutted at the event with wide smiles on my face. A couple of weeks after posting the photo in my Facebook account, a cousin from Canada commented, "Wow, Burberry dress, insan." AND, RIGHT IN AN INSTANT, I DELETED THE PHOTO. ^_^

Yay, my promdi taste never knew it was Burberry's insignia for all its lines. Another faux pas ^_^. Then, one day, I saw on TV Jinky Pacquiao wearing a very sexy dress in similar Burberry print. I guess, the one she strutted ain't cost no less than a thousand pesos. Mine's the cheapest imitation you'll find! Poor vanities :)

Oh, well. Both dresses now hibernates in the closet. The LBD is still a favorite. But, this holiday season, would want to prefer a dress with bolder color...hoping this wine color midi dress from Topshop (would want to have it custom-made^_^) would do justice. And, save me the trouble of donning another faux pas :)
