Shark Byte Boat Wins Big Five Fishing Open

2.9 million tourists have visited the Dominican Republic in 2012

During the first seven months of this year the arrival of nonresident passengers amounted to 2.9 million visitors, representing a growth of 7.20%, compared to the same period last year, when 2.7 million tourists arrived to the Dominican Republic.

This growth was due to the influx of foreigners and 24.208 171.083 Dominican nonresidents during that period, according to the Central Bank report on the tourist flow January to July 2012.

It also notes that resulted from the successful tourism promotion deployed by public and private sectors, which influenced the increase of 7.24% in the segment of nonresident aliens and evidence that the recovery of the tourism industry has consolidated.

North Mirador Park opens to virgin forest area

The Mirador Norte Park administrator, Reynaldo Soriano, launched the footbridge "Tomas Hernandez", named after the architect who was in charge of the construction of this place of relaxation, located in Santo Domingo Norte.

Blue Diamond bought Grand Bavaro Beach Hotel

Blue Diamond Hotels & Resorts, a division of the leading tourism company in North America, Sunwing Travel Group, purchased the Grand Paradise Bavaro Beach Resort, Casino and Spa located on the eastern seaboard.

Blue Diamond team said that although the negotiations remain the resort operated as Grand Paradise Bavaro Beach Resort until April 30, 2013, will close for six months to complete renovation, to suit standards "Memories Resorts" Blue Diamond chain.
