Ravi & Sana | Indian Engagement Photography in San Francisco

Earlier this year we were so excited to have our work featured by South Asian Bride Magazine – one of the best things to come out of that publication was a phone call from Sana to tell us all about her upcoming wedding to Ravi in San Jose. We met a few weeks later when Ravi came home from medical school in Boston to visit his fiancé – after an hour and a half of chatting about everything from the first time they met to their plans for the future, Sana and Ravi soon felt like old friends to us. So, a couple of weeks ago we followed these two around while they had an early evening date in San Francisco. We are so excited to photograph their beautiful Indian Wedding – complete with Ravi’s arrival on a white horse in San Jose this summer!

Rachel & Daniel | Palm Event Center Wedding Photography at Ruby Hill in Pleasanton

After we met Rachel and Daniel Nava for the first time its wan’t long before we knew we’d met a very special couple. They’re open about their love for each other, their family, friends and God and have the knack of making everyone around them feel warm and welcome. Just hearing Rachel talk about Daniel the first time we chatted on the phone, we just knew we were going to love them both! So, we’ve been looking forward to their Wedding for ages and are so excited to finally be able to share some images from their amazing day. After getting engaged last year, Rachel planned their wedding at the Palm Event Center at Ruby Hill in Pleasanton while Daniel finished playing his Baseball Season with the Boston Red Sox. After living on separate coasts for so long, they couldn’t wait for the wedding day to come fast enough – distance is tough when you’re in love! We were so thrilled that they chose to get married on our last available date in November and even happier that they trusted us with the honor of capturing their memories. Ruby Hill is a great place to get married and the Palm Event Center is one of our favorite venues in Pleasanton – not only are the grounds beautiful, the staff are generous, accommodating and very warm. Love it!!

After Rachel slipped into her Maggie Sotero gown, complimented perfectly with a beautiful bouquet of white roses and orchids we photographed the bride with her maids in the grounds of the Palms. An exquisite, low light, candle lit ceremony followed. As they exchanged vows and shared holy communion amongst family and loved ones they both looked radiant! Tears flowed freely as so many were touched by the heartfelt promises made – it was a really beautiful scene. Guests enjoyed fabulous food and wine and then danced the night away to classical and popular music that catered to all ages and tastes. At the end of the evening family and friends bid Rachel and Daniel ‘adieu with hundreds of sparklers – a terrific end to a classic, elegant wedding of two lovely people. Congratulations Rachel and Daniel – we can’t wait to see whats next for you two!

Ron & Jill | Mira Vista Golf Club Wedding

Couples often come to us looking for a candid, storytelling approach to wedding photography that places an emphasis on capturing the heartfelt emotions of the day in lieu of spending lots of time posing for the camera. We met with Ron and Jill for coffee a few months ago just outside of San Francisco and the connection was immediate. Not only are these two a match made in heaven, they are a warm, down to earth and lots of fun. Jill does not get to see family very often as they live in Taiwan, so capturing the different family emotions throughout the day was very important to her. Finding those special moments during this wedding came easily as Jill married Ron in one of the most gorgeous couture wedding dresses we have seen. Tears, smiles and hugs were found everywhere as friends and family celebrated this amazing couple at the Mira Vista Golf and Country Club in El Cerrito. Congratulations you two, we can’t wait to see where life takes you!

Gretchen + Tom

A big thank you to WINE COUNTRY WEDDINGS MAGAZINE for publishing Gretchen and Tom’s Wedding!

We’ve had a really great time getting to know Gretchen and Tom over the past few months as they planned their spectacular Sonoma Wedding at the amazing Stolkin residence in the heart of Sonoma Wine Country not far from Santa Rosa. The Wedding took place just before sunset, in a beautiful vineyard set against the stunning backdrop of the Sonoma Mountains – quite a perfect location for a Wedding! Jackie and I arrived the day before the Wedding to attend the Rehearsal dinner at the in downtown Sonoma and capture some wonderful family moments on camera before the big day. I love rehearsal dinners – they are always so special, having that ‘christmas eve’ type feel to them – gives me the warm and fuzzies! Often, there are members of the family who haven’t seen each other for a long time, so its neat to see the interaction between them as they reunite. We arrived early on the day of the Wedding to capture the Bride and her girls getting ready – it was so lovely to be with Gretchen as she got ready for her celebration surrounded by family and friends. One of the unique things about this Wedding was that Gretchen chose to have four flower girls and a Maid of Honor – I loved this idea – kids are almost always one of the brightest lights at Weddings, so having a whole bunch of super-cute flower girls around us made the day even more special and gave us some wonderul picture memories! Gretchen and Toms storybook Wedding Ceremony and Reception was elegant, beautiful and impecably presented with fabulous details and a chocolate Wedding Cake to die for! Even the Wedding Photographer got a slice!! Renowned Sonoma Wedding Caterers Brick and Bottle provided the food, drinks and table decor. Images from the Wedding taken by JC Page Photography were recently published by Brick and Bottle in their recent quaterly magazine. Our Bride and Groom danced the night away to the sounds of the 80′s!

It was a blessing and a treat to be a part of this romantic, fun and loving Wedding at a world class location surrounded by stunning natural beauty. Congratulations Gretchen and Tom – we wish you a great future together!

Color Me Love – Styled Bridal Shoot

Color Me Love asked me to photograph their 2012 Styled Bridal Photoshoot that carried a distinct vintage flair, which perfectly captured the whimsical, romantic, turn-of-the-century feel of today’s San Francisco Bride, providing great inspiration for a local or detination wedding. I chose to photograph in the Presidio district against a forrest of towering eucalyptus, cypress and pine trees. Ten models were hand-picked for the shoot and each braved the fog and wind with true San Franciscan tenacity! Whilst the brisk fall weather kept us all on our toes, it also served us up a perfect photographic backdrop adding a fabulous sense of romance, intrigue and tension to the images that otherwise may not have been there.

Anne + John | Danville and Diablo Country Club Wedding

You can’t help but smile when you’re around Anne and John – probably because they are smiling all the time. Love will do that to you. Laughter filled the bridal suite at Community Presbyterian Church in Danville as Anne prepared to walk down the aisle to John. She shared with me that she “just could not wait” to become his wife and gushed about the amazing circumstances that brought them together. Swoon… Over the years, we have been fortunate enough to work with some of the kindest, most fantastic couples who are, quite clearly, madly in love with each other – Anne and John’s wedding was another example of this. During the ceremony, the officiant – a personal friend of the couple – became overwhelmed with emotion as she recalled her thirty year relationship with Anne who had waited patiently for John to come along. Not a dry eye was left inside of the historical church (including mine) as they exchanged vows, becoming man and wife before those who love them most. After the ceremony, the newlyweds headed to Diablo Country Club in a White 1940′s Rolls Royce with white wall tires and red interior trim! Yes, I drooled over the car for at least twenty minutes – hey, its British – just like me! Kristen of Sugar Rush Events styled the reception at Diablo Country Club perfectly, even including a port and to die for chocolate bar after dinner.

Watching a new family come to life is a privilege. As a wedding photojournalist, there is no greater honor for me than capturing it on camera. As I joined so many who laughed and cried with Anne and John on their wedding day I was reminded of just how beautiful the gift of love is.
