Sometimes a printer, scanner, or all-in-one printer scanner device does not work after upgrading to Windows 10, but your Printer and Scanner worked in Windows 7, 8.1, or an earlier version/build of Windows 10.

In my experience, It is usually a problem with your Printer or Scanner drivers not working in Windows 10, or the Windows 10 upgrade process somehow corrupted the driver for my printer and scanner during the upgrade process.

Leaving the Printer powered ON during the Windows 10 install/upgrade may prevent your Printer or Print drivers from not working after the Windows 10 install has finished.

You can also uninstall your Printer driver and unplug your Printer, and restart your PC before upgrading to Windows 10. After you upgraded to Windows 10, you need to manually re-install the printer driver software from the printer driver installation files.

After Windows 10 has finish installing itself on your PC, and you finish installing all the Windows updates, you can install your printer driver software from your Printer maker’s website or Windows 10 may recommend you a printer driver if your printer is compatible with Windows 10.

It is usually easy to fix printer and scanner driver software problems in my experience. I usually need to only uninstall my old Driver software for my Printer or Scanner, restart Windows, and re-install my Printer or Scanner driver software to fix problems I am having with my Printer or Scanner not working in Windows.

I recommend you first turn off the electricity for your Printer or scanner. You would need to login to Windows with an Administrator account to uninstall the printer and scanner drivers with the official uninstaller program which is sometimes found in the startmenu, add and remove programs software found in Windows 10 control panel, and third-party uninstaller software like Revo Uninstaller.

Sometimes there maybe an official uninstaller program, which you can download from your Printer or scanner maker’s website, for uninstalling drivers for your Printer or Scanner.

If you can’t find the uninstaller program, you would need to use the device manager in Windows 10 to uninstall your printer or scanner drivers. You can search for the device manager in the control panel. Device Manager allows you to uninstall broken drivers by right clicking on devices with your mouse, and clicking on uninstall button on the Right click menu.

Once you uninstalled your Printer or Scanner driver, I recommend you restart Windows, and leave your printer off while Windows is restarting.

After Windows has restarted, re-install your Printer driver software which you need to download it from your printer maker’s website. Make sure to download the right model version of your printer and scanner driver software, and you download the version of your Printer and scanner driver made for Windows 10 OS. If there is no Windows 10 version of your Printer driver, sometimes you can use the Windows 7 or 8.1 version of the Printer driver.

But, installing printer drivers not made for Windows 10 is risky, and there is a chance the driver made for Windows 7 or 8.1 won’t work in 10, and end up breaking Windows 10 somehow.

Note: When installing the hardware driver software for a printer, scanner, and other devices, don’t turn on the power on your printer or scanner hardware unless the driver installer programs tells you to turn on your Printer or Scanner to connect your Printer to your PC. You can also unplug the USB cable of the printer from your PC to prevent Windows 10 from automatically finding and installing a driver for your Printer or Scanner which it finds using Windows Update or a previously installed driver which is installed in Windows. Using the driver which Windows automatically finds, and installs sometimes does not work, and may even cause Windows problems if the driver causes problem with Windows, or is an older incompatible version.

Once your drivers for your printer or scanner has finish installing the drivers for your Printer and Scanner, your printer should be able to print or scan again once you turn your Printer and Scanner on, and use it.

Windows 10 also has a printer and scanner troubleshooter program which you can find in the Settings App in Windows 10 device settings section, or by right clicking the Printer icon in the Printer program, and there is a troubleshoot or fix option in the right click menu. But, I notice the Windows 10 Printer Troubleshooter does not always work, or don’t fully fix my problems.

In rare cases, your print spooler service maybe disabled which cause your printer to not be detected by Windows 10, so your printer won’t connect to your PC. But, it is easy to fix by going into Services.msc in your Advance Task Manager, and making sure Print Spooler Startup service is set to automatic, and restart Windows or right click on Print Spooler, and start it from the right click menu on services.msc.

Backing up all your important files and folders to another external hard drive, and Clean Installing Windows 10 with the install disc or USB Windows 10 install drive will most likely fix all problems you have with Windows 10 not working with your printer, and other problems like a broken Windows installation.

Windows 10 also has a recovery feature in the Settings App where there is an option to “Reset your PC” which is easier to do than clean installing Windows from the install disc or drive. There is an option called “Keep my files” in Reset your PC. Keep My Files will uninstall your apps, drivers, and your customize settings, and uninstalled pre-installed programs and apps from your PC maker.

It is best to backup your files before clean installing Windows, or using Windows recovery options like Reset your PC, so you avoid losing your files.

Usually uninstalling your printer and scanner drivers, and restarting Windows after uninstalling your printer or scanner drivers will make it possible for you to re-install your Printer and Scanner driver while your printer is off which would fix your problem with your printer and scanner not working in Windows 10 because it can’t connect. If your printer drivers still can’t install, you can reset your pc, or clean install Windows 10 with the install media which should fix most Windows’ problems which you are having with your printer not connecting.

Windows 10 Startup Manager Task Manager More Details Tab

If you bought a Windows 10 computer from a retail store or upgraded an older Windows 7 or 8.1 PC instead of clean installing Windows, your PC may have a lot of pre-installed startup programs also called bloatware which you don’t want to start-up when you turn your computer’s power on, or installed on Windows.

Disabling startup programs will make your computer run faster because there will be more free RAM, and CPU Resources once you disable un-needed startup programs which you don’t need. Your computer will startup and run faster. It will also be more reliable when you use your PC after you disabled startup programs which you don’t want to startup during Windows logon.

Turning off startup programs in Windows 10 is simpler in 10 than in previous versions of Windows like Vista, 7, and XP. You don’t even need to use a keyboard to type msconfig in the run box like the past to access the startup manager  which is now found in the Task Manager where the Windows Startup manager is located in Windows 10. The startup manager is no longer located in msconfig like in Windows 7 and older Windows operating system. But, you can still access the Startup manager by clicking a link to the startup manager in the msconfig tab. The startup manager link in msconfig will launch the Windows Task Manager’s Startup tab.

How to open the Startup Manager in the Task Manager in Windows 10?

You need to use an administrator account to login to Windows to change Startup settings in most cases. You need to go to your desktop, and right click on an empty area of your taskbar, and click on the Task Manager from your Taskbar’s rightclick menu.

Click the “More Details button” if you do not see tabs on the Task Manager. When you see the tabs on the Task Manager, click on the Startup tab.

In the Startup tab, you can choose to disable, and enable startup programs by right-clicking them with your mouse, and clicking on the Disable and Enable button in the right-click mouse menu. I recommend you not disable your antivirus or firewall program if you use a third-party antivirus program instead of Windows Defender and Firewall.

Best to Disabling startup programs directly in your program’s start up settings

The best way to disable startup programs is to look in the settings for the program like an Instant Messenger, and manually disable it from starting up during Windows start-up by using the settings in the programs. By using the startup settings in programs like an Instant messenger, the startup entry will never come back in the startup tab on task manager unless you check it to startup during Windows boot in the settings of a program. There will also be fewer entries in the startup tab once you use the official program like a chat program settings to disable the program from starting up.

Uninstalling rarely or never used programs to free up storage space, and stopping them from starting up.

If you rarely or never use a startup program, uninstalling the startup program with the program uninstaller program will stop the program from starting up, and you get back some free disk space, RAM, and CPU resources, so your computer should startup and run faster.

Some startup programs are commonly called bloatware because they slow down your computer, and don’t perform tasks which are useful to the user, and end up making a PC feel bloated, and slow. It is best to uninstall bloatware if you don’t need to use it anymore.

Disabling Scheduled Tasks in the Windows Task Manager

Some startup programs startup entries are located in the Task Scheduler which you can open by opening your Startmenu, and going to the Windows Administrative Tools Folder where you would find Task Scheduler shortcut icon. Once Task Scheduler is launched, you can disable task in the Task Scheduler Library folder on the left sidebar by using your mouse to right click on the tasks, and clicking disable from the right-click menu, or using the Action sidebar to click Disable once you highlighted the task you want to disable.

Disabling un-needed Windows and third-party services in the Services tab of the Task Manager

If you want to disable startup services like Print Spooler because you don’t own or use a printer, you can use the Task Manager to Open Services program in Windows where you can disable services which you sometimes don’t need like WLAN AutoConfig because your computer does not use Wi-Fi, and is connected to the internet with a wired networking cable.

It is simple to Disable a startup service in Services, you need to click on the service which you want to Disable, and right click it and pick properties from the right-click menu. The Services properties will show up, and you can sometimes set the Startup type to Disabled. When you are done, click OK. Not all Services can be disabled, and disabling some services will cause networking, internet, sound, and other things to not work, so you should be careful when disabling services which you may need. Disabling services sometimes does not make a huge impact on improving your computers performance, so it may not be worth doing unless your computer is very slow, or you don’t want a lot of services running in the background.

Third-party non-Microsoft services which are sometimes safe to disable

I notice that it is sometimes safe to disable third-party services from non-Microsoft/Windows System Utility programs, video card drivers, and sound card drivers, and my system utility software, video, and sound still work normally like before when the third-party software service startup automatically.

Note: If you don’t know if you need a startup service or not, it is best to leave it alone, or use the internet to look for a second opinion from a few different users on forums, and blogs to see if a service is safe to disable or not safe to disable. It is best to leave services related to your antivirus, firewall, and networking/internet services alone, and not change the settings, so your computer remains safe to use, and can go on the internet.

Using Third-Party System Utility Programs to disable Startup programs, Services, and Tasks

There are many free programs like Autoruns, Advance System Care, Wise Care 365, CCleaner, etc which make disabling startup programs easier for less tech savvy users like beginner users of Windows. Some third-party startup managers found in system utility programs like Wise Care 365 also have a user community rating system to show which startup programs, and services are safe to disable, or should be kept as the default setting. You can also use these startup managers to delete startup entries in the Startup tab of Task Manager which will make the startup tab have fewer entries and look more clean instead of having a lot of startup entries which are disabled and enabled,

It is not hard to stop startup programs, tasks, and services from starting up in Windows 10. It is worth it to spend a few minutes to disable un-needed startup programs/bloatware, so you would experience faster startup times better performance, and increase reliability in Windows 10 because your computer now has more free RAM and CPU resources to run programs and games in Windows.

Windows 10 32bit runs fast on my computer with 3GB of RAM, Intel Core2Dou 1.86 GHz Dual-Core CPU, Nvidia GT 620 1GB Video card, onboard sound, and 320GB SATA hard drive. I upgraded to Windows 10 for free because I had Windows 8.1 installed on my PC. Windows 10 is a free upgrade for Windows 7 and 8.1 users for the first year of Windows 10 release. The upgrade to Windows 10 ran pretty smoothly, and it installed all the correct hardware drivers, and software I use like Firefox works in Windows 10 without problems.

Windows 10 starts up in under 1 minute. Windows 10 runs reliably when I use it on my PC. I downloaded Gameloft’s GT Racing 2, and Asphalt 8 and both games run fast without slowdown problems like slow video problems like slow framerates and freezing video or sound problems. I also don’t experience many freezes, or crashes when I play games and use other programs like web browsers in Windows 10 on my desktop computer.

Opening programs like Web browsers, Office Suites, and the Windows Store only take a few seconds to launch.

Windows 10 user interface now has a startbutton, and startmenu like in XP, Vista, and 7 instead of a fullscreen startscreen like in Windows 8/8.1, so it is easier to use on my desktop computer. The Taskbar in Windows 10 lets me pin my most used shortcuts like web browsers, games, and office suites to the task bar, so it is faster to find, and launch programs from the taskbar.

It is also now possible to resize modern touchscreen apps from the Windows Store instead of only having one option of only having fullscreen Apps from the Windows Store.

The Windows Store also has a lot of nice apps , and games for it which are compatible with Windows 10. A lot of the games, and apps are also free, or very affordable to buy.

Windows Explorer File Manager is also pretty easy to use to manage files, open folders, and explore my hard drive’s files because it is similar to older versions of Windows Explorer found in Windows 7, 8.1, and Vista. Windows Explorer rarely freezes, and crashes, and works pretty fast at copying files from one hard drive to another drive.

Windows 10 also comes pre-installed with Windows Defender Anti-Virus, and Firewall, so you are protected from viruses, and hackers when you use Windows 10 for the first time unlike older versions of Windows which do not come with newer security software. Windows 10 also comes with UAC/User Account control to stop unauthorized changes to Windows, so you are protected from unwanted changes like unwanted program installs for added security. For more security, you can install your own security software with more security features. Windows 10 also automatically install software updates and security fixes for Windows, and Microsoft software installed on your computer, so you always have the latest security software patches installed on Windows 10 when they are released.

The new Microsoft Edge web browser runs faster than older versions of Internet Explorer. It starts up quickly, and can play YouTube videos without the need for you to install Adobe Flash Player. The webpage load times are fast, and the website scrolling is smooth when I use Edge to browse the web.

Firefox web browser also works pretty well in Windows 10 in my experience because Firefox rarely crashes in Windows 10 when I use Firefox to browse the web in Windows 10.

The internet is pretty reliable on Windows 10 because I don’t get disconnection problems caused by Windows 10.

Windows 10 is a fast, reliable, and simple to use Windows Operating system for desktop computers. It has most of the basic features which Desktop users want like a Startbutton, Startmenu, taskbar, and resizeable apps. It comes pre-installed with an Antivirus, and Firewall, so Windows is secure to use for the first time. Windows 10 also comes with Microsoft Edge which is a faster web browser than previous web browsers like Internet Explorer.

I have been using the free Jetpack plug-in for a few months on this blog to add more features like a contact form, website traffic statistics to my dashboard for WordPress, related posts, social sharing, subscriptions to comments or posts, Photon CDN/Content Delivery Network, and other features.

I recommend Jetpack for users of WordPress which are new to WordPress, and plug-ins. JetPack is created by WordPress.com, so it should be updated, and supported for a long time unlike other plug-ins made by smaller plug-in makers which sometimes no longer support their plug-ins because they don’t want to, or they don’t have the time to work on their plug-in.

What I like about Jetpack is that it is fast, and easy to use at adding most of the features I use like a contact form, related posts, and post subscriptions to my blog. I also only need to install one plug-in instead of many plug-ins from different plug-in makers. By just installing one Jetpack plug-in, I don’t need to spend as much time looking for many other plug-ins to customize my blog, and reading reviews to see if plug-ins I am looking for are good, and don’t contain security problems like viruses and backdoors for hackers.Â

Jetpack does not seem to affect the loading times and performance of my blog, and can make my blog load faster when I enabled the Photon CDN feature which host images on Photon which uses WordPress CDN. Jetpack also has a mobile template for WordPress. The mobile template loads faster than desktop templates, and runs better on mobile smartphones and tablets.

JetPack may also decrease the RAM, and CPU usage of your website’s server if you have Photon, and other features turned on, and deactivated and uninstalled plug-ins like Related Posts and themes like Mobile Themes which you replaced with JetPack’s Related Post, and mobile theme module.

You may end up saving a few dollars by using Jetpack because you won’t need to buy a mobile theme, and paid plug-ins for WordPress, and subscribe to a CDN for hosting images which can all be costly. By using a Jetpack’s CDN feature, you also save Bandwidth, so you can use a cheaper shared web hosting plan to host your website instead of subscribing to a more expensive high bandwidth web hosting plan. The mobile theme in Jetpack could save you some bandwidth as well since mobile themes typically use less bandwidth than regular desktop themes for WordPress.

The Jetpack plug-in lets you customize the look of your blog by making it simpler for you to add a Favicon to your blog. A Favicon is the icon you see on the top left of a tab or bookmark. There is also Tiled Gallery, Carousel image gallery, Infinite Scroll where it automatically load pages on the blog homepage, custom css, custom widgets, and Jetpack adds support for different media types to your posts.

The Social networking features like social sharing buttons, Jetpack comments, and short links make it easy for users to share posts on different social networking websites like Google Plus, Twitter, and Reddit.

Jetpack also comes with a lot of website administrative features like Akismet Antispam, website stats, website monitoring, Backup, and security scans with Vaultpress, and site Verification with Google Webmaster tools, Pinterest, and more.

There are features in Jetpack like spelling and grammar, media embedding shortcode, and Post by E-mail which would make your blog posts better, and more interesting to read.

Jetpack is one of the best plug-ins for WordPress blog because it contains many useful features to get you started on your new blog, or improve your older blog by adding new features to it by just installing Jetpack.

Jetpack can be downloaded from https://wordpress.org/plugins/jetpack/

Hyper Cache is a simple to use caching plug-in for WordPress. I like that Hyper Cache is simple to use, and its settings page in WordPress Dashboard>Settings>Hyper Cache has a lot of features with descriptions to customize the settings of Hyper Cache for the needs of different types of blogs like news blog, hobby blogs, personal blogs and how-to tutorial blogs.

A caching plug-in would make blogs, and websites load faster because pages and posts are stored in a Cache folder as HTML files for fast access. The default settings for Hyper Cache are good for most blogs even blogs on a shared web hosting account where your CPU, and RAM resources are lowered than a dedicated web hosting account. I recommend leaving them a lone unless you have a lot of visitors, or edit new posts a lot. Using this Plug-in can make your blog handle larger number of website visitors than using WordPress without a caching plug-in because serving cached html posts uses less RAM, and CPU resources on a web hosting server than serving up un-cached WordPress posts which are served directly from your mysql database which uses more CPU and RAM.

Hyper Cache seems to make my blog load faster than without any caching plug-in installed on it.

One of the reasons I choose Hyper Cache for WordPress blog is because it works with mobile theme plug-ins like WP Touch Pro, or let me choose my own mobile theme. I can also set the cache to bypass the cache on mobile devices, and only serve cache versions of the site to desktop computers.

Hyper Cache can turn on page compression which saves you and your visitors some bandwidth, so your pages load faster even on slower internet connection like smartphone, tablet, dial-up, and wifi connections.

Hyper Cache has a feature where you can configure it to display a mobile template when your blog’s front page, posts, and pages are viewed with a smartphone or tablet. You can choose which mobile template you want to use, or just bypass the cache if you use a plug-in based mobile template like WP Touch or WP Touch Pro. You can also choose to separate your mobile cache with your desktop cache to show the cache mobile sites to visitors. If you use WP Touch or WP Touch Pro, you can set the Mobile Theme to Use the Active Blog Theme.

You may need to paste or type the line

define(‘WP_CACHE’, true);

with a text editor like Notepad after the line

define(WPLANG)

in your wp-config.php file in your WordPress folder before Hypercache will work if you get a notification message on Hyper cache telling you to put define(‘WP_CACHE’, true); after define(WPLANG) in your wp-config.php file for WordPress folder.

The mobile user agents I use in Hypercache mobile settings to bring up my mobile template which is WP Touch Pro are:

iphone
ipod
android
bb10
blackberry
webos
iemobile/7.0
iemobile/9.0
iemobile/10.0
msie 10.0
ipad
playbook
xoom
p160u
sch-i800
nexus 7
touch

I also choose to Bypass the cache because WP Touch Pro does not take very long to load pages in mobile web browsers, and I don’t have a lot of mobile traffic to my blog. Bypass the cache also avoids problems with changing pages on the front page, categories, archives, and other pages on Plug-in mobile themes.

There are other useful features like emptying your whole cache, clean home and archive, compute size of cache, and Import Old settings in Hyper Cache. You can also choose to bypass your homepage, 404 page not found pages, feed, comment feed, exact URL links, (Starting with) URLs to bypass, Cookies to bypass, Devices (user agents) to bypass, Don’t serve cached pages to comment authors, and Reject posts older than.

Hyper Cache is an easy, fast, and feature rich WordPress blog caching plug-in which also works for mobile templates and theme plug-ins to make WordPress load quickly on both Desktop computers and mobile devices like smartphones, and tablets.

You can download Hyper Cache for WordPress from https://wordpress.org/plugins/hyper-cache/

I been using iolo System Mechanic 14 for maintaining Windows 8.1 computer, and it has been pretty easy to use, and fast. It runs very fast even on my older desktop computer with a Intel Dual Core 1.8GHz CPU, 3GB of RAM, 320GB hard drive, and Nvidia GT620 1GB video card. The programs open in only a few seconds, and most scans and repairs like Deep Analysis only takes a few minutes to complete on my PC. Iolo System Mechanic 14 is a good program for maximizing the performance, and reliability of older computers, and maintaining and improving the performance of newer computers. System Mechanic 14 also automatically checks for new versions, and update definitions, so you are always using the latest version.

To use System Mechanic 14, I just need to install it, and let it run in the background while it maintains my computer when I use it. System Mechanic 14 automatically defragment my hard drive, free up un used memory, clean up junk files, and automatically compact and defragment Windows registry for faster performance. System Mechanic also automatically repair problems in Windows, Windows Registry, broken shortcuts, broken internet connections, fix Windows security problems, backup the registry and repair hard drive errors.

System Mechanic 14 now comes with iolo LiveBoost which is a program where you can easily switch power plans, turn on Opticore which makes your CPU run better by freeing up CPU resources used by non-important programs, RAMJet which optimizes your RAM by freeing up unused RAM, and Accelewrite for increases the performance of your storage drives by minimizing its writing to the drive. There is also a setting called Idledown which will switch to a more energy-efficient power plan like LiveBoost Endurance after your computer is idle. It can also be set to automatically switch power plans when a program, or game is launched to maximize your PC’s performance, or save power.

There is an Ultra Performance Power Plan in LiveBoost which is a power plan for maximum performance, and there is an Endurance Power Plan which sets the power plan to a more energy-efficient setting which is great for tablets, and laptops which need longer battery life.

There are tools in System Mechanic 14 which help you turn off un-needed background programs and services, and startup programs to free up more RAM, and CPU resources, so your computer runs faster.

The security of your Windows computer is better protected with System Mechanic 14 because System Mechanic checks if your computer’s antivirus like Windows Defender, and Firewall like Windows Firewall are protecting you from security threats like viruses, spyware, hackers, and other security problems. System Mechanic also has a built-in program called System Gaurd to protect your Windows settings like homepage settings and search engine settings from being change on Browsers.

BruteProtect is a free simple to use plug-in for WordPress which you just need to install from the WordPress Plug-in section on WordPress admin page on your blog. After setting up Bruteforce, you don’t need to make any changes to your blog, and it does not make any noticeable changes to your blog, so it does not bother you when you are blogging, or reading your blog on the front page. Brute Protect plug-in blocks login attempts from bots which try to guest your password on the WordPress login page/WP-admin folder.

BruteProtect is part of Automattic which is the same company which works on the WordPress blogging software, so BruteProtect is well supported by many web plug-in developers.

BruteProtect blocks bots, and hackers which try to hack WordPress by blocking their I.P. address, and blocking known IP addresses of bots which tried to hack other WordPress websites with BruteProtect installed on it. BruteProtect websites share attack information with other sites online, so the more WordPress blogs which use the plug-in, the better the protection for all blogs which use BruteProtect’s Plug-in for WordPress.

By blocking unwanted bots, and hackers, your website will run more efficiently because there is less unwanted traffic from hackers and bots which is trying to hack your blog. According to some of the reviews on Brute Protects website, a lot of the people who use this plug-in notice that their blog now uses 600 MBs less RAM, and CPU percentage usage drop to 3% from 80%, and it block hundreds of attacks. By blocking botnets, you may also save bandwidth, so more legitimate readers can login and read your blog at the same time. Plus, if you are using a shared web hosting plan, you will have more free resources like bandwidth, ram, and CPU, so you won’t need to upgrade to a more expensive dedicated or virtual private server hosting which cost more, and is harder to manage for the average website owner.

The Botnet and hackers I.P. Address is also added to BruteProtects list of known botnet hacker I.P. addressed to automatically protect other blogs with the BruteProtect plug-in installed on it. The more WordPress users who use Brute Protect the better the protection would be for everyone who uses this plug-in.

If you use the My BruteProtect website at https://my.bruteprotect.com/dashboard , it would also tell you what Plug-ins and themes are up to date, or not up to date, so you can update the plug-ins and themes which need updating from within the My BruteProtect Dashboard. You would need a WordPress.com account to use My BruteProtect.

I have been using BruteProtect for a few days, and it blocked hundreds of failed login attempts on my login page for WordPress. It was also pretty easy to setup after installing BruteProtect. I just needed to use my e-mail address to get an API key to start protecting my blog by pasting the text for the API key into BruteProtects settings.

Learn more about BruteProtect for WordPress at https://bruteprotect.com/ . You can also download a free copy of the plug-in at https://wordpress.org/plugins/bruteprotect/ to install on your WordPress blog to protect it from botnet and hackers.

BruteProtect will soon come with Malware scanning, blacklist warnings, and an update all button for its plug-in

Iobit Driver Booster is a free program which is used for scanning your Windows computer for outdated drivers, and using the internet to download and install the latest versions of your computer hardware drivers.

By using the latest drivers for computer hardware, your games, Windows and programs could run faster, and crash less because newer versions of drivers fix performance and stability problems which are found on older versions of hardware driver. Sometimes video card driver makers also optimize their drivers to work better and faster on newer games.

Driver Booster is easy to use. I just need to open the program, and it automatically finds drivers which need to be updated. I can choose to update all the device drivers which need updating, or just update one driver by hitting the update button next to the driver. It is also possible to set Driver Booster to shutdown or reboot my computer after it is done updating all my drivers. After Driver Booster finish installing the Drivers, I can scan my drivers again to see if there are still any drivers which need to be updated.

Using Driver Booster is also safer than downloading drivers from websites which may contain virus, spyware, and malware programs because Driver Booster downloads drivers from safe websites. You also don’t have to worry about downloading and installing the wrong driver which can break your computer because Driver Booster finds the right driver for each of your hardware devices installed on your PC.

Driver Booster also tweak drivers for the best PC gaming performance.

I also like the red and dark black user interface of Driver Booster because it looks very modern and sleek.

I have been using Driver Booster for many months, and it has worked great at installing the correct version of the newest device driver for each device.

You can download Driver Booster for free at http://www.iobit.com/driver-booster.php

The download is only about 20MB in size, and it works for Windows XP, Vista, 7, ans 8/8.1.

I have been using Update Detector by File Puma to scan my Windows computer for software like Steam, Glary Utilities, and other popular free software to see if there are updates for it. It is usually best to use the latest version of Windows software since the updated version sometimes fixes software problems which older versions of the software does not fix.

Update Detector and File Puma is owned by Glarysoft.com the makers of Glary Utilities and other system utility software, so using Update Detector and File Puma is safer than downloading installer files for programs from un-safe websites which may contain virus, malware, and spyware programs which may harm your computer.

Once I installed Update Detector, I just need to double click on the Update Detector shortcut icon on my desktop or startmenu to launch the program. Update detector will launch the program, and scan my computer for outdated software.

After the scan is done, It will automatically open my default browser like Chrome, Firefox, or Internet Explorer, and go to FilePuma.com to inform me which programs need to be updated to the latest version, and the webpage links me to the download page for each individual program which needs to be updated by downloading the installer file to use to install the latest version of the software. The download speeds on FilePuma.com are fast, and FilePuma does not bundle unwanted program installers, or require a seperate downloader like some freeware download websites which need you to use their downloader, or tricks you into installing unwanted toolbars, and programs during the software install.

There is also a lot of free software like media players, web browsers, and more for Windows which you can download from File Puma.

If you want to learn how to use more software, there is a News Blog on FilePuma which posts articles on how to use Windows software, and news related to Windows software.

You can download File Puma Update Detector at http://www.filepuma.com/updatedetector/

The download size of Update Detector is 4.5MB, so it downloads very quickly, and uses very little space on your PC running Windows. It works on Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8/8.1.

WP Clean Up is a WordPress Plug-in for WordPress which cleans up unnecessary entries in your database for WordPress easier to do. Cleaning up my database of un-needed entries will free up more space on your database for more important things like posts, comments, categories, and tags. With more free space, your blog also may run slightly faster.

WP Clean Up is easy to use compared to using Phpmyadmin where I have to use SQL commands to delete junk I don’t need anymore.

I recommend you not use WP Clean Up when any users are logged in, or when you are still writing a post because old drafts, revisions, and moderate comments may get lost which you need to post new posts on your blogs.

Once I install WP Clean UP, I just need to go to “Dashboard”->”Settings”->”WP Clean Up” in WordPress to access the cleanup tool.

In WP Clean Up, I only have to click the delete button to clean up unnecessary Revision, Draft, Auto Draft, Moderated Comments, Spam Comments, Trash Comments, Orphan Postmeta, Orphan Commentmeta, Orphan Relationships, and Dashboard Transient Feed which I don’t need anymore. It tells me in the Count table how many entries are in each database category which WP Clean Up can cleans up.

You can choose to delete only certain categories like Trash Comments by clicking the delete button next to them in the settings page for WP Clean Up.

I can also click Delete All if you just want to free up more space on your database, and know you won’t need any of the entries which WP Clean Up cleans up.

Once you are done cleaning up your database with WP Clean Up, you can go down to the bottom of its page to press the Optimize button which will shrink your database size by optimizing its size. It also tells me the size of each table like wp_posts in the size table, and I can see the total size at the bottom of the WP Clean Up page which is useful if you are on a shared or free web hosting plan where the size of your database is limited to 100MB or more, so you know when you need to switch to a better web hosting plan or company with larger database size limits like 4GB instead of 100 MB.

WP Clean Up is pretty fast at deleting un-needed database entries, and optimizing my database. It only takes a few seconds to delete un-needed database enteries and optimizing my WordPress database.

I recommend backing up your database with Phpmyadmin, or a WordPress database backup tool just in case you deleted a draft, revision, or comments which you need. Plus, backing up your database prevents you from losing your data if your web hosts suddenly shuts down, or loses your database.

WP Clean Up is a fast, simple, and safe way to clean up your WordPress Database of un-wanted entries which makes your database size larger, and may slow down your blog. It also optimizes your database for WordPress to make your database file size smaller while also improving the performance of your database.
