The Feast of Mary Help of Christians is celebrated on May 24.

The tradition of this advocation goes back to 1571, when the whole of Christendom was saved by Mary Help of Christians when Catholics throughout Europe prayed the Rosary. The great battle of Lepanto occurred on October 7th 1571. For this reason this date has been chosen as the feast of the Holy Rosary. In 1573 Pope Pius V instituted the feast in thanksgiving for the decisive victory of Christianity over Islamism.

Near the end of the 17th century, Emperor Leopold I of Austria took refuge in the Shrine of Mary Help of Christians at Pasau, when 200,000 Ottoman Turks besieged the capital city of Vienna, but a great victory occurred thanks to Mary Help of Christians: on September 8th, Feast of Our Lady's Birthday, plans were drawn for the battle. On September 12, Feast of the Holy Name of Mary, Vienna was finally freed through the intercession of Mary Help of Christians. All Europe had joined with the Emperor crying out "Mary, Help!" and praying the Holy rosary.

In 1809, Napoleon's men entered the Vatican, arrested Pius VII and brought him in chains to Grenoble, and eventually Fontainbleau. His imprisonment lasted five years. The Holy Father vowed to God that , if he were restored to the Roman See, he would institute a special feast in honor of Mary. Military reverses forced Napoleon to release the Pope, and on May 24th 1814, Pius VII returned in triumph to Rome. Twelve months later, the Pope decreed that the feast of Mary Help of Christians, be kept on the 24th of May.

St. John Bosco (1815 - 1888) was a dynamic priest who founded the Salesian Order in the XIX century in Italy. His many prophetic dreams, beginning at age nine, guided his ministry and gave insights on future events.

On May 14, 1862, Don Bosco dreamed about the battles the Church would face in the latter days. In his dream, the Pope of those days anchors the 'ship' of the Church between two pillars, one with a statue of Mary (Auxilium Christianorum or 'Help of Christians') and the other with a large Eucharistic Host

St. John Bosco wrote about his congregation, the Salesians: "The principal objective is to promote veneration of the Blessed Sacrament and devotion to Mary Help of Christians. This title seems to please the august Queen of Heaven very much."

The Salesian Sisters of St John Bosco or Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, are the sister order of the Salesians of Don Bosco.

St. John Bosco, himself, on June 9 1868, dedicated to Our Lady Help of Christians, the mother church of his congregation at Turin (Italy). The Salesian Fathers and their Sisters have carried the devotion to their numerous establishments.

The Traditional Latin Mass or Extraordinary Form of the Mass ...

The term “the Latin Mass” is most often used to refer to the Tridentine Mass—the Mass of Pope St. Pius V, promulgated on July 14, 1570, through the apostolic constitution Quo Primum. Differences From the Current Mass

The Traditional Latin Mass retains Latin as the language of worship, and the priest celebrates the Mass facing a high altar, in the same direction as the people face. The Tridentine Latin Mass offered only one Eucharistic Prayer (the Roman Canon), while six such prayers have been approved for use in the new Mass, and others have been added locally.

The Return of the Traditional Latin Mass

The decision to allow the celebration was left up to the local bishop, and, over the next 15 years, some bishops made a “generous application of the directives” while others did not. John Paul’s successor, Pope Benedict XVI, had long expressed his desire to see a wider use of the Tridentine Latin Mass, and, on June 28, 2007, the Press Office of the Holy See announced that he would release a motu proprio of his own. Summorum Pontificum, released on July 7, 2007, allowed all priests to celebrate the Tridentine Latin Mass in private and to hold public celebrations when requested by the faithful.

Pope Benedict’s action paralleled other initiatives of his pontificate, including a new English translation of the Novus Ordo to bring out some of the theological richness of the Latin text that was missing in the translation used for the first 40 years of the New Mass, the curbing of abuses in the celebration of the Novus Ordo, and the encouragement of the use of Latin and Gregorian chant in the celebration of the Novus Ordo. Pope Benedict also expressed his belief that a wider celebration of the Tridentine Latin Mass would allow the older Mass to act as a standard for the celebration of the newer one.

Orientation of the Priest and People

At the Traditional Mass, the priest and people face east, towards the Lord. This orientation was used at the Last Supper and by the early Christians, and it continues to be used at the Mass in the Extraordinary Form. 1

This common direction of prayer should not be viewed as the priest having his "back to the people;" rather, this eastward orientation fully expresses the meaning of the mass—the priest leads the faithful towards the eternal goal of the Heavenly City, and he offers the Sacrifice that is Christ, to God, facing God, for Catholic tradition sees Christ as coming from the East, the direction of the rising sun.

This orientation also makes the priests' personality fade away. He becomes a servant to the sacred act that he performs, controlled by the ancient rubrics.

Ceremonies of the Mass in the Extraordinary Form

Lex orandi, lex credendi: "Law of prayer is the law of belief." This ancient statement exhorts us to pray as we believe, and it explains in simple terms how to worship God.

For example, in the classical liturgy, constant reference is made to the Holy Trinity, but in addition to the vocal part of prayer, the physical part of prayer is expressed through the common use of gestures in groups of threes: " Domine, non sum dignus..." ("Lord, I am not worthy...") is said three times; the bells are rung three times during the consecration; there are three double swings of the censer or thurible, and these are but a few among many other examples. Other gestures are done in groups of five, such as five signs of the Cross made over the Host and Chalice, recalling and in veneration of the Five Holy Wounds of Christ (one in each hand, one in each foot, and one in His side, piercing His Most Sacred Heart).

During the Canon, the priest consecrates bread and wine into the Body and Blood of Christ. This summit of the mass is recited silently by the priest, as God descends upon the Earth in silence. Cardinal Ratzinger (Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI) calls this "silence with content."

This silence should not be viewed as "shutting the faithful out of the liturgy." On the contrary, prayer needs silence, which demonstrates respect for Christ. Popes over the ages, including our patron, St. Pius X, have encouraged the faithful to actively take part by "praying the mass" with the priest, which is accomplished through the use of a "hand missal", or "missalette."

In solemn masses, incense is used, which demonstrates respect for the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, and three ministers (a priest, a deacon, and a sub-deacon) are present, again, mirroring the Trinity.

Language and Catholic Identity

It has long been the practice of the Church Universal to use and preserve the common language of the Apostolic See of your Ritual Communion or Church at the time of its founding by the Apostles. This serves the purpose of preserving unity of prayer and faith over time, space, and national or cultural boundaries. Thus, while there may be several languages in use across the Churches of the East (Byzantine Greek, Church Slavonic, and Aramaic, to name a few,) the one Church of the West, in communion with the Apostolic See of Rome, has one maternal language: Latin.

The Latin language was introduced into the mass very early. As Christianity was brought to Rome from the Eastern Mediterranean, for a brief period before the introduction of Latin, Greek was used and this Greek is preserved in the Kyrie, or "penitential rite." Since then and up to today, all official documents have been and are issued or promulgated in Latin first, including those of our current pope, Francis, and the conciliar documents of Vatican II.

Sacred Music and Gregorian Chant

The music of the Mass in the Extraordinary Form is timeless, like the mass itself. It comes to us from ancient times in the form of chant and, more recently, from great composers such as Bach and Mozart.

As the Second Vatican Council said, "The Church acknowledges Gregorian chant as specially suited to the Roman liturgy: therefore, . . . it should be given pride of place in liturgical services." This is certainly so in the classical mass. Gregorian chant comes to us from the Jewish traditions that existed before the time of Christ, and St. Gregory I (the Great) cultivated the art into the basic form we use today. 3 During medieval times, this chant became ever more beautiful while keeping true to its tradition, and created the standard tones and melodies for many of the hymns we use today.

Musical Elements of Mass

The music of the mass can be separated into two categories: "propers" (the parts that change) and "the ordinary" (the parts that don't change).

The proper music includes the Introit, Gradual, Tract or Alleluia, and Communio (or Communion Verse). The text of these usually comes from the scriptures, and are particular for each mass.

The ordinary music includes the Gloria, Credo, Sanctus, and Agnus Dei. The text of these pieces do not change, but the music to which they are sung can. The church has put together a collection of seventeen "masses" that may be used for various feasts. For example, Mass IX (9) is often used for feasts of the Blessed Virgin Mary and is particularly joyful. Mass VIII (8) is popular for Sundays outside of festal or penitential seasons, like Lent, Christmastide, or Easter; and Mass XI (11) has a more monastic character.

Vestments and their Significance

The vestments worn by the priest and ministers at mass are reminiscent of those worn by the early Christians, and each article of clothing has a particular meaning, which is meant to inspire the prayerfulness and reverence of their wearers.

The amice (pronounced "Ah-miss") represents a hood of humility and the helmet of salvation mentioned in St. Paul's Letter to the Ephesians. It is worn around the back of the shoulders to hide the non-liturgical clothing. But, as the minister is putting it on, he briefly rests it on the top of his head and says a prayer which asks the Lord's assistance in doing battle with evil.

The alb is put on next. In Latin, albis means "white," and the alb symbolizes the purity of baptism. The minister's prayer while putting on the alb asks that the Lord would help him to maintain that purity in himself, and to gain it to an even greater degree where it is lacking.

Then, the minister puts on the cincture, which represents the virtue of chastity. The prayer said by priests and deacons asks God to purify his intentions and strengthen his resolve to remain chaste.

The stole is next and is worn over the shoulders, in the case of a priest or bishop, and over the left shoulder on a deacon. It has two meanings: first, it represents the authority of the priest gained from communion with the bishop in apostolic succession (i.e. the authority that was once given to the Apostles by Christ, passed on through the Holy Spirit to the bishops, and shared by them with their priests); the second meaning, reflected in the prayer said while putting it on, is as a sign of the eternal life awaiting those who love and serve Christ and His people.

Especially for a solemn high mass, deacons and bishops will then put on the dalmatic, which looks similar to a loose tunic and represents the justification of the Christian believer and a reminder of the duty of service.

For priests and bishops, next is the maniple (which looks like a miniature stole) is added and is worn over the left arm. It is symbolic of the weight that the priest bears in offering the Sacrifice.

Finally, the chasuble—the outer vestment—covers the priest or bishop. It is a reminder for the priest that he has accepted to bear "the yoke of Christ", and that he is to live accordingly. The color of this vestment, the stole, and maniple are reminiscent of the feast: gold or white on feast days, red for memorials of martyrs, violet on penitential days, black for funerals, rose on Gaudete and Laetare Sundays, and green for days without a particular commemoration.

Our Lord and our God Jesus Christ Great Commandment

Jesus said that to love God supremely is the first and greatest Commandment. (Matthew 22:38) It is first and greatest in that it represents the heartbeat of every one of the Commandments. But while it is the first Commandment, it is not the only one as Jesus quoting from the second of the Ten Commandments also said, “If you love me, keep my Commandments.” John 14:15. He did not say, “If you obey me, then you will love me.” Obedience does not lead to love but love does lead to obedience. The more we know God the more we love him, and the more we love him the more it becomes a delight to serve him and do his will. So if we truly love God, we will keep all the other Commandments as well as the greatest which comprises them all.

So Jesus summed up the law by breaking it into the following two groups.

Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. (first four laws)
Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. (last six laws)

Second Greatest Commandment

So Jesus explains that the first is to love God supremely, “And the second is like unto it, You shall love your neighbour as thyself.” Matthew 22:39. The connection in the following passage is very explicit, “We love him, because he first loved us. 20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? 21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.” 1 John 4:19-21. It is our love for God that also empowers us to love other people.

If you love God with all your heart and soul you are obeying all the law and especially the first four Commandments, which includes the fourth as proven by Deuteronomy 6:5 which was spoken right after the Decalogue was given the second time. And if you love your neighbour as yourself you will be obeying the last six. Therefore love is the fulfilling of the law and if you love God with all your heart, soul and mind and your neighbour as yourself, then you will be obeying all Ten Commandments.

When we want something, we generally imagine the form it will take when it manifests. If we’re not careful, however, we can find ourselves attached more to the imagined form than the actual desired outcome. This is like placing an online order and expecting it to come in a blue box shipped by UPS. If we then receive a red box delivered by FedEx, we might not realize that it’s what we ordered, and never even open it!

For example, most of us say that we want money, but when money comes in the form of a free coffee or a gift or a discount, we don’t see it for what it is. We overlook it, and maybe we even say “No, thanks” and decline the gift which is, in one way or another, still money. In doing so, we fail to appreciate the value of the discount, the gift, or the freebie. If it isn’t cash being handed to us, we don’t see it as a manifestation of our desire.

The law of attraction is a funny thing.

It is much more complex and much more intricate than what it seems to be and yet, at the same time, it’s so very simple: We always get what we want. We always receive more of the energy at which we vibrate. Always.

However, if we’re acting from the energy of “I don’t deserve it” or “I don’t think I’m worthy,” then whatever it is that we receive will be negated and essentially unseen. On the other hand, if we are open, observant, and maintaining an abundance mindset, we will receive our request on numerous levels and from plentiful sources!

Last month, I was open to receiving a new client. I didn’t know how it would happen, but I’d set my intention: I was going to get a new client. That night, out of nowhere, I got a message from an old student of mine. She was looking to hire me again as her coach for the upcoming college entrance exams in the U.S. But wait! I didn’t want an entrance exam client.

What I actually wanted was to get life and business coaching clients. This student was my “red box from Fed Ex.” I wanted to decline at first, but as I was about to reply, something made me stop. I asked myself, “Why am I rejecting this?”

This student is an amazing client. She pays on time. She’s not needy. She does her part. Best of all? She doesn’t short-change me. So I said yes, because I realized that the Universe was simply responding to the essence of my desire.

You see, my “Big Why” in everything I do has always been to facilitate an accelerated personal and business growth for my clients, and this student fit the bill in every way. She wanted the personal growth, she was ready to go all in and she reached out to me.

It didn’t look like the package I was expecting so I didn’t recognize it at first—and I nearly turned it away—but she was the perfect answer to my request.

Serving people like her has always been a driving force in my life.

The Universe knows that. It also knew that I wanted a client asap so that I could re-invest the money into my business, so it responded in the most ideal way… but in an unexpected form. And I came so close to missing it!

How many times have I missed other opportunities like this? How many times have I dismissed a “red box” because it wasn’t “blue?” I’ll never know. But I do know that, had I not stopped myself from sending a “No, thanks,” I would have felt as though the Universe wasn’t listening.

That’s the thing: the Universe is always listening.

The more open we are in receiving, the more we thrive. The more open our energy is, the greater the possibilities. Don’t just return that red box to the post office and keep waiting on a blue one. Ask yourself, first and foremost, if what you’re receiving at the moment matches up with your underlying desire.

Identify exactly what it is that you really want—in my case, it was an ideal client (underlying) as opposed to a coaching client (surface)—and focus on that. Clear out all the mental noise and static that clouds your awareness.

Keep your eyes and mind open for anything that fits the description. When you ask for money, recognize that free coffee for what it is: $3 you were going to spend anyway, that can now remain in your pocket. Every penny on the ground, every coupon, it’s all money.

3. Keep an attitude of gratitude.

The more you appreciate what you have, the more that comes your way. Your grateful mindset opens the energetic door for more to flow your way, because “where attention goes, energy flows.” The more you focus on the things you want, the more you will draw them into your experience.

Remember, that the Universe responds to our requests in whatever way fits best within the big picture.

It’s a picture so big that we couldn’t possibly begin to see how it comes together. Trust it. Know that when you ask, you will receive. It may not come in the form you anticipate, but always in a form that responds to your underlying desire. You just have to be ready to see it.

I was recently participating in a family event. As I was walking by I heard someone saying: “well what can you do about it… That’s her character, and people can’t change.” The fact that people believe that character and attitude can’t be changed always surprises me. I keep hearing this from people who are considered educated yet with all those university degrees, it feels like some very basic truths are missed.

Everything is either growing or disintegrating

Everything in our world is either growing or disintegrating, including our bodies and minds. Likewise a person’s character or attitude is continuously changing. The reason many people think they can’t change is because of habits. A habit is an action that requires no conscious mental effort. This action is so ingrained in us, that we don’t give any thought of whether or not to perform it.

For example, did you have to decide whether to get dressed this morning? Since habits help us manage the data load of our everyday lives, we are usually inclined to make more of them. We become so accustomed to them, that we think they control our lives. That’s why most people think they can’t change. They believe that their habits are stronger than they are. The truth is that our habits are as strong as the power we give them.

Changing our habits is something that requires a big enough reward to do so. If we feel the reward for changing our behaviour is big enough, then it would have more power than the habit. So how can you change your attitude?

Here are 3 ways that will help you change yourself and your attitude:

1. Construct a new habit

If habits are ingrained in our behaviour it’s only logical that changing them will change our attitude. Choose a habit you wish to change. For example: arriving late for meetings. Start working on it. Be there 20 minutes before the meeting, and then do it again and again. You might think that a new habit takes 21-30 days to form. This is probably not true and originates in a mix of study and folklore.

The more recent studies show that habits take anywhere between 18-254 days to become fully automated. This is not to discourage you from trying out a new habit, but rather so you know that changing habits takes time. So if you slip up on adopting your new habit it’s completely okay, don’t beat yourself up for it.

2. Think different thoughts

Our thoughts are vibrations in certain frequencies that we send out. Whatever we send out, the universe returns back. Just think of a radio station that is tuned to a certain station. Each station is a different frequency, and in order to receive a different broadcast, we simply change the tuned frequency.

This is the same with our thoughts. Once we change the frequency of our thoughts, we would receive different results. So negative (low-frequency) thoughts will bring negative results, and high-frequency thoughts will bring positive results.

Choose any object. It could be a person or an inanimate object that has some relation to you. For 5 minutes, think about all the good things this object/person brings into your life. How does that object/person make your life easier or more enjoyable? Then, focus on acknowledging the good and give thanks for having that object/person in your life. This exercise immediately switches the vibration you are currently on into a more positive one. It is actually possible to feel the change of feeling when we give thanks for the good in our life.

3. Adopt a new perspective

The way we look at things affects our thoughts about them. Everything just is. We are the ones that give meaning to it based on the way we perceive it. So changing our behaviour can be achieved by changing the way we perceive things.

Let’s say that you didn’t manage to complete your daily tasks one day. One perspective could be that there aren’t enough hours in the day to do everything. However, shifting the perspective could mean that we could look at the situation as if you are simply prolific. You are simply a very fruitful person. Feels better, right?

One exercise to help shift your perspective is to write down whatever bothers you on a piece paper. Then sit a table where you can see the paper. Choose 2-3 people you respect and think highly of. They could be someone you personally know, or even historical figures (my favorite is Churchill).

Then sit at the table with the paper in front and say out loud everything that bothers you about the written subject. Once you finish, move to a different place at the table and imagine what one of the people you chose think about the situation. What would he have to say? Act as that person, and say his thoughts out loud.

Do those a few times while switching chairs and people, so you’d have a range of perspectives to choose from. Then adopt the perspective that you like best.

Our attitude towards things is comprised of our thoughts, feelings and actions. These three are inseparable. Just as if you have a cake, which has ingredients that construct the whole, so does our attitude and it is constructed of these 3 parts.

We can change the minute we decide to. Our attitude is plastic, and can change at any point in life. It only requires us to decide we want to change, commit to our decision and keep at it until we feel the shift. After that, repeating the new pattern would make it our new nature. So next time you hear someone say that people can’t change, tell them how you did.

I had often wondered how some people just seem to have it all together. These people are good at communicating, energizing and motivating others. It is something we truly cannot define, but some people just have it. It’s called charisma. Natural charisma could lose its impact especially when you add familiarity.

However, some people are remarkably charismatic. They cultivate and maintain great relationships, consistently and positively influencing the people around them; making them feel better about themselves and as such everyone wants to be around them.

Charisma tends to increase your chances of being successful in any area of your life. Science has been fascinated by the concept and found that charisma is a quality everyone can develop; not necessarily an inborn trait.

By examining the traits that charismatic people exhibit, we can certainly grow to become charismatic ourselves.

According to Ronald Riggio PhD, professor of leadership and organizational psychology at Claremont McKenna College, Charisma has three main ingredients:

· Expressiveness – A knack for striking up conversations spontaneously and easily conveying feelings.

· Control – The ability to fine-tune your persona to fit the mood and social makeup of any group.

· Sensitivity – A gift for listening.

1. Confidence

There is a certain confidence that charismatic people exude. According to the Harvard Business review, confidence can be so alluring that people are willing to trust anyone who expresses it. Researchers have noted that showing confidence is more dominant in establishing trust than past performance. Charismatic people literally light up a room with confidence when they walk in.

2. They are attentive and listen to others

Charismatic individuals know how to make people feel valued. People like to be around them because of this. This is because they’ve trained themselves to be attentive to people whom they interact with.

Simple habits like asking questions, maintaining eye contact, smiling, responsiveness, verbal or nonverbal cues, are some of the things they do actively. It’s not surprising that studies have found that eye contact heavily influences likability, trustworthiness, and attractiveness. Listening shows that they care a lot more than offering advice.

For example, if you have a friend who is always critical about everyone, you’ll soon find yourself to be critical of other people. Likewise, being around someone who’s passionate and optimistic is likely to inspire you to think and behave that way also.

4. They are approachable

Charismatic people are often seen as warm and approachable. Most people would rather get to trust and get closer to you if they perceive you to be warm.

According to Dr. Robert Zajonic, facial muscles contract to produce a smile that allows for increased blood flows to the brain which lowers the brain temperature and produces feelings of pleasure and happiness.

Studies have also shown that smiling is linked to how approachable and competent someone is. You want to hone your charismatic skills, then smile.

5. No self importance

Charismatic people have no bone of self-importance in their bodies. They are simple, easily relatable, with no airs.

This doesn’t mean they are not knowledgeable. In fact, they know quite a lot, and are kind in dispensing the information that they have. The only people that can be impressed by self- importance are those who are pretentious, and act self-important also.

6. They have a cause

Throughout the 20th century, sociologist Max Weber’s study of charisma says that a charismatic person has a clear vision for the future and boldly advances towards it. They are people who talk about ideas that are bigger than themselves.

An example of this kind of person would be the late Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple, who on recruiting Pepsi CEO John Sculley, pointedly asked if he wanted to sell sugared water for the rest of his life, or if he wanted a chance to change the world?

7. Genuine interest in others

Confident and charismatic people usually prefer to shine the spotlight on others. They motivate people. Telling others how much of a good job they’ve been doing is essential.

Not only will people who are drawn to you appreciate your praise, but they will also appreciate the fact that you pay attention to what they’re doing. It brings a sense of accomplishment to them. Then they’ll feel a little more accomplished and more important.

In other words, they give credit where credit is due. If they are recognized for a success, they shower the praises on everyone else and empower people without expecting anything in return. Conversely, if anything goes wrong, they aren’t afraid to take the blame.

The Five People Rule !!!

When I was managing a large number of salespeople I would often tell them the way to increase sales revolved around the understanding of a technique I called, the five people rule. Very briefly, it states that if you line up five people shoulder to shoulder and asked all five their opinion of you, one will hate you, one will love you, and three will be indifferent.

The person that hates you may have any number of reasons for doing so. Perhaps they don’t like the way you look, the way you dress, or the way you talk. Maybe it’s the way you assert yourself publicly. Perhaps you’ve wronged them at some point or wronged a member of their family or their organization. Maybe their mother didn’t like your mother. Perhaps you did absolutely nothing! And this person simply doesn’t like you!

The person that loves you may do so for number of reasons. Perhaps the both of you are two suits, or two dresses, cut from the same cloth. (Your behaviours mirror each other!) You just get along famously with each other and like being in each other’s company. Perhaps you’ve done them a favour in the past; or got them or a member of their family a job. Perhaps, in this case, you made no overt attempts to be liked by this person, but they do like you anyway; it’s just you!

In either case it really doesn’t matter. The fact of the matter is as we go about in our lives some people will naturally like us, and some people will naturally dislike us. The real goal here is to look at the three people that are indifferent to you. Because if you can get just one of them on the “love you” side, then you have doubled the proportion of people who like you versus dislike you.

Obviously, in sales this is very important, since people buy from people that they know, like, and trust. But, in everyday life this is important also not just because we can increase your circle of influence but it’s always nice to have people like you instead of disliking you.

So, the question becomes how can we gain enough of an understanding of our own behaviour to tip the scales in our favour of other people’s opinions of us?

Here are a few ideas that I shared with salespeople and clients over the years, and I hope you can use them also in general interpersonal communication skills:

1. Analyze why the individual that doesn’t like you feels that way – There’s a very good possibility that you don’t like them either. Throw those feelings into the mix, and answer the question, “Based on this information what can I change about my behaviour?” Please note, it’s not about the other person changing, it’s about you changing! The goal here is that if you change perhaps you can get the other person to change.

2. Analyze why the individual that likes you feels that way – How do you act and behave that endears you to this person? Is it possible to duplicate those behaviours with a different person?

3. Of the three individuals that are indifferent, which person do you think you would have an easier time behaving in such a way that they start to like you? – That’s the one you want to attract to you first. Since you feel that they are the most favourable to you, it’s like picking a piece of low hanging fruit! Based upon the knowledge you got from answering questions one and two you should be able to alter your behaviour in such a way that would allow that one individual to come over to your way of thinking.

4. Forgive the individual that doesn’t like you – It really doesn’t matter why they don’t like you, just forgive them. There are no justified resentments! By forgiving that individual you remove all of the psyche rust that is keeping you from having other people like you (and you liking them). When you begin to understand that every word that comes from someone’s mouth is truly a prayer about themselves, regardless of who the subject is, the person that doesn’t like you is really showing an outward manifestation of their internal reflection. It’s not you! Forgive them.

5. If by chance, you behave in such a way that wronged that person who was holding something against you, forgive yourself – It is impossible to forgive someone else until you have allowed yourself the same privilege and honor. The past cannot be retraced. And the past does not necessarily have to be trajectory toward the future. If you can make it up to them, do so. If not forgive them and you and move on.

6. Have a mindset of always expecting the best in any interpersonal situation – Like everyone; and expect everyone to like you. That will begin to set up imperceptible behaviours, all fuelled by your self-conscious mind that will attract others to you in a likable manner.
