A flashcard or flash card is a card bearing information on both sides, which is intended to be used as an aid in memorization. Each flashcard bears a question, number or a picture on one side and an answer on the back part of the card. During the making of my flashcards, it is not really that difficult for me to make because I have already the idea on what topic I am going to use through flashcards. Also, I printed the pictures so what I did was only cutting the pictures out of the paper. After cutting the pictures, I covered the entire picture with a scotch tape to make it more durable. But I made an extra careful in taping the flashcard because it might damage the entire card if it is not properly tape. The topic I chose in presenting a flashcard was not that difficult, in fact it is predictable when the learners saw the pictures, they easily guessed. I learned that in flashing the cards, it should be in snappy for enable the learner become attentive and can think abruptly.
I conclude, that using a flashcard is an effective way on how the learners interact the lesson presented. The flashcard that is being presented must be related with the topic discussion so that it will add an interest to the learners about the discussion matter.

Contrived Experience Reflection

Contrived Experience is edited version of direct experiences, design to simulate to real-life situation, examples are model, mock up, objects, specimens, games and simulation. Together with our group we decided to make a contrived experience about an ecosystem.
During the making of contrived experience, I felt excited on what would be the outcome of our group activity. I felt like we are a scientist at that time because we are experimenting things we don’t usually do. One of the things I never forget together with our group was the time we looked for a styro cup as one of our materials needed to make an ecosystem through contrived experience. I did not hesitate, I asked some customers inside the food court for their cups after they finished drinking. I feel no shame during that time. What’s on my mind during that was to finished the contrived experience on that day because in our group we are all working students, so we need to finished the activity as soon as possible. The activity was interesting. We collaborate our efforts, ideas though there were some materials lacking because of abrupt decision to make out of it. But, at the end we created the activity with much fun though it takes time to create an ecosystem but after seeing the result of our contrived experience, all our efforts were paid off. We come up with a beautiful and creative ecosystem out of not so expensive materials.
I conclude, before doing the activity make it sure that all materials are ready and accessible whenever there are materials are lacking. The ideas also must be concrete. If you decide to make any contrived experience or any activities, you should not make out of the plan activity for enable not to waste the time in thinking again with other ideas. The next time if I am going to make a contrived experience or any activities, it should be in line with my interest or through curiosity why I come up with an idea so that the result would be more creative, adventurous, and knowledgeable for all types of learners.

Comic Strip Reflection

Comic strip is a series of adjacent drawn images, usually arranged horizontally, that are designed to be read as a narrative or a chronological sequence. Words may be introduced within or near each image, or they may be dispensed with altogether.

My experienced in making a comic strip was a bit disappointment. I took 3 nights to make the whole story. The time I decided to have a hard copy of the story I made from the Pixton site, I was so disappointed. I wasn’t able to produce or print the copy because the account that I used was already locked out. I don’t know what to do during that time. I looked for different ways how to unlocked my account in Pixton but there’s no other way. All I did was, I screenshot each slide and made a copy out of the screenshots I took. I felt relieved afterwards seeing the result because it looks like an original one. I realized that anything we make through the use of any websites, we should have a copy send to our personal account, for example the Gmail account in order to track a copy in case the site we use is for trial only.

We all use different processes to understand the information that is given to us, and that’s why teachers aim to reach all the different types of learners. Flash cards are a great tool for visual learners because they are bright, illustrative and colorful. They make an impact.Flash cards are a really handy resource to have and can be useful at every stage of the class. They are a great way to present, practice and recycle vocabulary and when students become familiar with the activities used in class.

When it comes to language learning there are countless methods and tools to help students understand the target language.

Between digital blackboards and flashy apps, the humble flash card remains the king of effective language learning.

Since we are all wired differently, the learning tactics and methods that are effective will vary with each individual. Using Flash Cards is the best way in Teaching, in order to them to give attention and easy to recall the word or activities in each individual.

When it comes to children and toddlers, flashcards help children improve their knowledge and ability to understand and improve visual memory.

Children are not known for their ability to focus, so flashcards make it easier for educators to provide small pieces of information in a memorable and interesting way.

It is important for teachers to reach all learners in a classroom. Therefore, the use of teaching aids facilitates this objective by assisting teachers in differentiating instruction. Using aids such as graphs, charts, flashcards, videos, provides learners with visual stimulation and the opportunity to access the content from a different vantage point.

This gives each learner the opportunity to interact with the content in a way which allows them to comprehend more easily.
Teaching aids like Flashcard help to make the learning environment interesting and engaging. As we move toward a more digital society, kids are being exposed to technology and digital devices at a younger age. Video games and iPods are now what’s exciting to students, so when they come to school they have little patience for lecture style teaching.

Students are seeking constant excitement and simply have no tolerance for boredom. Teaching aids are improving the quality of education in today’s schools while also providing students with the sense of excitement they desire.
Teaching aids are becoming the norm in the classroom. As traditional classrooms with blackboard and chalk become a thing of the past, and smart classrooms become the norm, teaching aids are growing in popularity and advancement. Blackboards are being replaced with white and smart boards. TVs are being replaced with LCD projectors and screens. And educators are becoming more focused on students growing with technology and integrating it into the curriculum.

1. I learned that,

a. The Freedom of expression and Censorship has an interaction between technology and the person used. It gives individuals the ability to publish and receive information, participate in social media and share knowledge. User choice and control, which allow individuals to decide what to say, publish and access online, are essential parts of protecting free expression rights. It participates in a free flow of information and ideas with others across the world. How do we prevent violate basic human rights such as the rights to privacy? Simply, not to inform or put any fully personal information, even in social media like facebook or any social media nowadays.

b. The Privacy and Security is very much significant in our society, why? It’s because Technology has overall made life easier and has made things a lot less private. This results in us having to be extra careful with security on the internet. Internet security is important to protect our privacy, protect us from fraud, and from viruses that could destroy a piece of our technology. To minimize the risk of any disclosure or loss of confidential data, it is important to understand where the risks are, and implement office management practices and appropriate technology to ensure all of your data remains confidential and secure.

c. The Surveillance and Data Retention, by the help of ICT it gives to the learners benefits, by securing their activities in any website they want to visit
d. The E-Pollutants from E waste stands for electronic waste such for example computers, cell phones, printers and television. E-waste is unwanted or unused electronics that are no longer in use. E-waste has concerns, because of the various poisons and how they do not dissolve easily. It consists of many toxic chemicals that are detrimental to environmental health and human well-being. The main cause of e-waste is the improper recycling of e-waste which leads to the slow accumulation of electronics in landfills, poisoning our environment.

2. I realized that,

a) I want to enhance my skills and more knowledge of freedom of expression and censorship, in order for me to share to the learners soon on how to prevent and protect the issues of social media nowadays, in every time they visit any sites that they have encountered.

b) We made things a lot less private in social media. For us we must aware the privacy security to ensure all of our data remains confidential and secure.

c) There is a lot of ways on protecting Data of information of an individual. And it is important for us to remain secure to protect from fraud.

d) We must know the proper recycling of e-waste which leads the accumulation of electronics in landfills and less poisoning in our environment.

3. I Plan that,

a. I will teach to the learners on how the proper way of using technologies. I will them what are the advantages and disadvantages in using king of social media.

b. I will teach the learners how was the privacy and security is very much significant.

c. I will give my all information and knowledge when it comes to technology, in order for them to protect and give the right information in visiting any sites nowadays.

d. I want to inform the learners that the E-waste consists of many toxic chemicals that are detrimental to environmental health and human well-being. Teach them how
the proper recycling of e-waste

When we were first committed long distance relationship. we aren't sure what to expect. Waiting entails pain,sacrifices,resisting,temptation and maintaining the spark. Every minute update becomes only "hello" and "i have to go". Laen nang doul ramo sa matag usa. mangaway gani and isa, sutoy dayun sa ila ug gakson sya , OKAY NA. Lami sa feelings, kiligon sad beya ka. But when youre miles apart, we tend to create unnecessary emotions out of text messages. kana dayun timingan sa pagsakay nimu sa jeep, imung kaatbang grabe ka sweet. Pagkaon nimu, ang naa sa kilid, magtinan away grabe ka lagkit. huhuhuhuhi grabe makasuya.

No relationship is all sunshine. But two people can share one umbrella and survive the storm together. Ana pa sila.

When were together after months of anticipation and excitement , it's even more special than usual.

Once the day finally comes when we're together, we'll see that all of this was so incredibly worth it. all the struggles, all of tears and all of the anxiety will seem like stepping stones, bringing us to this one blissful moment.

I want to wish you all a VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR, one that is full of every blessing that the Universe can bestow upon you, and all for your Highest Good.

I also recognize that the world is in turmoil, and some of you may be feeling helpless and overwhelmed by it all. Perhaps 2017 will be just as challenging as 2016 turned out to be...if we do nothing. But you know we CAN do something positive and concrete about changing the energy in the world.

The Miraculous : Simala Shrine in Cebu

The Simala Shrine in Sibonga also known as Cebu's Castle Church is one of the famous destinations for Mama Mary's devotees in Visayas region. the miraculous Mama Mary bwas known to grant prayers from devotees who visited and prayed to her.

We woke up early and had some breakfast before leaving at 7:30Am in the morning. We headed to walk Jakosalem Street and we could catch V-hire to Sibonga. V-hire is the term of cebuano use to refer a passenger van. The first trip left full as early as 6:30AM. We were able to catch the next van which immediately gets filled afetr 30minutes. Our van left at around 8:00 AM and we arrived in Simala Shrine.

It took hour and 30 minutes to travel.

We finally reached Simala around 10:00AM. Upon entering the gate of the monastery, the beautiful castle welcomed us. We felt like being transported to some European town with majestic fortress.

This is our First time to visit this kind of holy place. The view was perfect. It was Sunday when we get there ,so its crowded. We heard a lot of good stories about the place and saw some pictures in social media which also encouraged us to prioritize this visit by all means prior. We owe it to Mama Mary and to God, to give thanks and pray for all the wonderful blessings and daily miracles we've received and about to receive. My Partner and I went inside the altar for paying respect and pray.

After saying our prayers, we headed next to buy candles and dropped our letter asking for favor from Mama Mary in the petition boxes. We prepared the letter ahead as we anticipated that there could be a lot of people and that we cant stay long. Writing the letter ahead of time gives us more to reflect on what favor we'd like to ask from Mama Mary.

It was a day well spent even though it took as time to get there. Still we both feel very fulfilled coming back home. Mission accomplished as they say.

We will definitely be back soon.

New resort hotel with floating restaurant opening soon in Jasaan

There’s a new resort hotel rising in Jasaan town in Misamis Oriental. Construction of the project located in Brgy. Jampason is now progressing. It is initially called SOPHIERED HOTEL AND FLOATING RESTAURANT.

The said hotel and resort features a swimming pool, and a floating restaurant which can only be reached via passing through a long walkway. The surrounding sea water is crystal clear that interested visitors could see the underwater fishes.

Fall-ing in love with Sagpulon Falls

In one of the barangays of Jasaan, Misamis Oriental, namely San Isidro, lies one of the beautiful waterfalls that I have been longing to see. This is my 3rd times to visit here with my love ones. The falls caught my attention because of a series of smaller waterfalls at the bottom of it. In short, it was really beautiful!

The road is mostly cemented and thankfully, we didn’t have any problems going there.The locals were very kind to give us directions too.

Upon arrival in the place, we were greeted by tarpaulins at the entrance. My heart almost sank when I read it but I was glad that they will let the public visit the falls provided that we wouldn’t eat or swim there.

Nature has its ways of unfolding things. We have to walk a bit more and climb through some steps.

And finally….

As you can see the Falls was very Stunning.I was a bit (just a bit) disappointed of the structures blocking the natural view of the falls. The site is improved for commercialization. Hopefully, its natural beauty will never be compromised.

TRAVEL NOTES

Bring your own baon as there are no stores currently operating in the area.
Overnight stay is not allowed, so come early and leave before 5 pm.
No swimming allowed for the time being. Taking pictures however, are a great alternative.

HOW TO GET THERE

From CDO, proceed to the Agora Terminal and ride a bus or a jeepney heading to Jasaan. Jeepney fare is about Php25.00 while bus fare is around Php30.00 plus a Php3.00 terminal fee. Ask the driver or the conductor to drop you off at Spring View Resort as it is the landmark nearest the trailhead going to the falls. From Spring View you can hire a habal-habal (haggle hard) to take you there or you can hike your way in on a dusty (sometimes muddy) 6 kilometer stretch.

Tinago Falls in ILIGAN CITY

It has always been one of my dreams to experience what other people have experienced when they swim or dive into the mere like tinago falls. My new found friends in PKI will go there last January 24, 2016. It was so much fun and enjoy even if it too far but it’s worth it to experienced.

It was my First time experience to visit tinago falls; we take some photos and videos of the place for posting in my blog and also to have souvenir photos of tinago falls nature.

To reach the falls, you have to trek down a winding staircase with about 250 steps.The task can be a long and difficult one so that families with small children are not advised to take the trek for safety. Those who do want to visit a waterfall but find it difficult to trek down Tinago Falls can check out the other falls in the city, including the grand Maria Cristina Falls which is very accessible and set in a family-friendly nature park. In fact, most tourists visit the Maria Cristina Falls first then proceed to Tinago so that the latter can get crowded in the afternoon. To those who are willing and able to take the stairs down to the falls,the view along the way is beautiful and the breathtaking destination is well worth the sweat and effort you spent. A swim in the cold waters can jar your senses but could also provide rejuvenation after the long trek.

It is the waterfall’s way of welcoming and thanking you for taking the time to take the difficult jaunt just for a visit.

You can bring as much food as you want to because there are no corkage fees to be paid. But you also have to remember that you have to lug down all your supplies down the winding stairs to reach the falls. It would be best to pack light and bring just ample food to enjoy. Still, if you didn’t bring supplies, there is a mini sari sari store where you can buy some bread, drinks, and other snack items.

Another option is to hire a guide who will also take the task of bringing your belongings. This way, you will have lesser burden as you navigate down the stairways. How much you give the guide really depends on you. He might ask for a specific fee but you can always add some few pesos to the amount, especially if he has to bring lots of food and luggage along.

A lot of tourists are disappointed that they can’t swim at the Maria Cristina Falls – that could be deadly! Those who wish to experience swimming under a waterfall can do so at Tinago Falls, easily endearing it to the hearts of many tourists. So, aside from food (and cameras, of course!), don’t forget to bring extra clothes for swimming.

It is also possible to experience the cascades directly down your body by enjoying a raft ride. The ride is safe and can accommodate a group. Just be prepared for the strong force of the water on your skin, though it won’t be pounding too hard. The raft ride is available for a fee.

Sagpulon Falls in Jasaan

People of Cagayan de Oro and near cities or municipalities – have you already gone to this beautiful 350-meter water fall drop in San Isidro, Jasaan, Misamis Oriental? I guess, there were only few who knows about Sagpulon falls because it’s not yet fully developed and the municipalities just announced the proposed construction last January 23, 2014 under the administration of Gov. Bambi Emano. The development project is worth 10 million pesos.

How to get thereIt’s actually 35 – 45minutes away from the main road of Jasaan. You can reach the area by motorcycle call “habal-habal” and will cost 30 – 50 pesos per person from highway or if you’re from Cagayan de Oro you can ride a jeep (25 pesos) or thru bus (30 php + 3.00 terminal fee) from Agora terminal and tell the conductor to stop you at Spring view resort in Jasaan. From spring view resort, there are motorcycles that can bring you to Sagpulon falls.

Having Someone

Relationships are bonds that a person can have to other people. Bonds that may help a person be strong and some may lead to problems, but the most important relationships are the ones that make us have this feeling called love. Relationships to others are important to a person. There is this saying that, “No man is an island”, it is a metaphor that means a man cannot live with himself. Human beings need to be with someone. No matter if it is a person, friends and family. Everybody needs to someone that they can hang on when in problem. Someone that will guide them and someone that will accept what kind of a person a man is. This kind of relationships is rooted from love. Love from a family, group of friends or from a special someone. There is a kind of love that a person needs to have. Love from a special someone and that person will be with him as a partner.

Love is when you willingly do anything just because you love that person and it will result in strengthening your relationship together. When you feel love, you cannot find the right words to express the feeling of it. You just have to make that person feel that you really love him/her. As for me, I have a partner that is very wonderful person. I’m not saying that he is a perfect person because nobody in this world is perfect. But for me, he is the right one that will fill up all the imperfections in my life. Having a relationship can be used as an inspiration in living life, despite of all the problems that life will offer. On the other hand there are relationships that are unhealthy because it can result to losing your way to the right path in terms of pursuing your dream.

But for me, I use this relationship as an inspiration. Because I know that, besides of my family, I have him to support me always despite the downfalls that I will encounter in my life. We have this relationship that when the other is in need, the other will give a 100% support so that we can overcome every challenge together. It is good for a person to have a good support system in facing life. This will help boost a person’s confidence and will result to positive outcomes. When we face problems, we will just be open minded and will listen to each other’s side. Letting things cool down when we have a fight always helps us because this makes us calm and will respect each other’s side. If you have problems and anger will always be the one that will make things worse.

Also, we have our families to guide us in our relationship and help us be a better partner. We also have God as our primary adviser. When we face troubles, we ask for the grace from the Lord to help us overcome every obstacle. Every obstacle that we surpass, our relationship grows stronger. We are also grateful in every day that our relationship last longer and stronger.

Having relationships with others helps us become responsible for the greater good of the people around us. This helps us be good human being, knowing the good from the bad and knowing the responsibilities of having a relationship. Also with the help of our Lord, we can be the persons that He wants us to be and made us to do, love Him and love each other.

Life is a Choice

We lived in world of choice. The moments passed are the product of the choices we made. “Destiny is no matter of chance. It is a matter of choice. It is not a thing to be waited for; it is a thing to be achieved” according to William Jenning Bryan. Our life rotates through our decisions, through the option we take and the choices we choose. What ever choices we take through the reality is that it has an end result.

As time goes by, incidents happen for a reason. We are facing different problem in different situations. But once in our life, the only thing we treasure is the joy we felt when we are in the time of laughs. No matter how many problems we faced, how many times we failed and being frustrated, the important thing to do is how to handle and accept the reality that every choices we made is not always perfect and sometimes we defeat by our own choice.

“All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better”. According to Ralph Waldo Emerson. The pains and frustrations would be the instrument for us to become complete and be strong enough to face all odds in life. For instance in love, the reality is that we could understand its meaning unless we don’t feel the pain when we are in loved. But in the very first place, it’s started with our choice, our choice to love that someone and we expect lot of things out of it. Somehow, we are given the chance to choose the experience of pain and nothing and we rather choose pain to make other people happy. The choice of letting go will really mean to someone who deserves it, the choice of freedom. Because in life there are two choices wherein there are two paths to take, one is easy and the other is hard. In life if we choose the easy one, the choice we have will result to easier answer. The hardest it was the better the result to take.

God’s purpose is to make us a good person; he measures our strength on how we handle things through our decisions. It depends on how we construct, handle, and hold on the principles that we stand for. Sometimes life is unfair, but no matter how sorrowful it is, how painful and how struggling it was moving on will the alternative to release the baggage’s in life and everything will come to and end. We should always remember that “We cannot cure the world of sorrow, but we can choose the world of joy”.
