Why people run? Most likely your answer includes feeling better-physically, mentally and emotionally. They run for a purpose.

Running is among the best aerobic exercises for physical conditioning of your heart and lungs.

Studies have shown the health benefits to be enormous, reducing the likelihood of everything from the common cold to cancer.

You'll lose weight; most beginners lose nearly a pound a week.

I found out that we are born to run. Yes, it sounds cheezy, but that doesn’t make it less true. We humans outrun every single animal on the planet. No, not on speed and neither on strength, but on endurance. Did you know human can outrun horses in 50 mile races?

This is no infomercial. Running is one of the best calorie-blasting workouts around.

Still not convinced? Here are 10 of my favorite reasons to hit the ground running.

1. You can do it anywhere.

Whether on the treadmill or in the park, it’s easy to rack up miles.

2. Save some cash.

Forget fancy equipment or a pricey gym membership. When it comes to running, all you need is the right footwear.

3. Visit the doctor less.

Apples aren't the only things that keep the doctor away. Active people are less likely to develop cancer and women who regularly engage in intense workouts like running can reduce their risk of breast cancer by up to 30 percent.

4. Your chance to eat more carbs.

During intense training (like preparing for a race), increasing carb intake can help your performance and boost your mood during harder runs.

5. Feel the burn.

For a 160-pound person, running can burn more than 850 calories an hour.

6. Boost memory.

Exercise has been shown to help keep the mind sharp. Hitting the track might also protect the brain against Alzheimer’s, even for those with a family history of it.

7. Build stronger bones.

Running might help produce even stronger bones, keeping bones healthier as they age.

8. Sleep better.

Running encourages higher quality sleep.

9. Run stress away.

Not only does running boost the brain’s serotonin levels, regular exercise might actually remodel the brain, making it calmer and more stress resistant.

10. Increase stamina.

Running regularly will improve stamina, making workouts more enjoyable and productive.

The oldest person to complete a marathon was born in 1911, making him 100 years old at the time. He was an Indian man named Fauja Singh. AND guess what? Fauja didn’t even start running until he was 89 years of age. It’s never too late!

A NIGHT AT THE AIRPORT

Writing this just to save myself from explaining my personal experience to everyone during the Delta outage. Might be a first world problem, but i hope it will be an interesting read.

I was on a trip to Atlanta and had a return flight to Oklahoma City (OKC) on Monday, 8th August 2016, scheduled to depart at 9:50PM via Delta Airlines.

I read about the systems failure at delta facilities in social media late Monday. I wanted to make sure my flight isn't cancelled, so i checked "delta.com", "flydelta" mobile app and both of them said my flight is on time, also tried calling delta customer care and heard a 2+hr waiting time from the automated system. I checked in online but my seat was not assigned. So i went to the airport, cleared the security and was at my gate (A2) by 8:30PM.

At that time an unusually large crowd at the terminal and a really loooong queue at the delta help desk, people sleeping everywhere in the terminal. At my gate the Monitor says, the flight is to OKC and it is on time. So i stood in the line to talk to the agent, so that i will get my boarding pass with a seat number. After a while, delta agent announces that the flight at the gate is to Norfolk, VA (On another note this flight departed at 1:30 AM and i guess they waited approximately for 12 hours) and the flight to OKC is not going to come here and we have to wait there until they assign a new gate to our flight. After 1 hour in the line, I got my boarding pass and the waiting game begins. During this wait i got a notification in the delta app, that the gate is changed to A20, so i and few others, who wants to be the first to reach walked there, only to hear from the delta agent that they have no idea about OKC flight at their gate and asked us to go back to our originally assigned gate.

At approximately 2:00AM (4hrs 10min past the scheduled departure), flight pilots announce, they have to leave, as they reached their allowed working time of 15 hrs, but this means our flight is not cancelled and we will get new crew to take us home. We keep hearing the same update from the delta agent at the gate, that our flight will get a new gate and we are definitely flying tonight.

At approximately 2:15AM (4hrs 25min past the scheduled departure), delta agent announces that our new gate is E2, our flight and crew is ready, they already started boarding and we will depart in 30 min. So with some sort of relief we make our way towards the train to go to E terminal only to see the train is out of service with some issues. So we walk all the way from gate A2 to E2. Atlanta airport is the busiest airport according to few surveys and the walk from A2 to E2 is approximately 2 miles and it took 20 minutes.

Approximately at 2:35AM (4hrs 45min past schedule departure time), we reached E2 and we saw that the OKC flight is cancelled on the Gate Monitor. No agent was available at that terminal. We had no idea what to do, but we thought it's worth the walk because the queue in the E Terminal is smaller compared to a mile long one in terminal A. So we joined the queue and after a while, A person in red suite (may be a manager there) says they are closing this counter in 10 minutes and we have to go back to terminal A for the hotel and rebook the flight. I can see how disappointed and frustrated people are, as we are roaming in the airport at the middle of the night and we have to stand in a mile long queue in terminal A. But with no other option left and we walk all the way back to terminal A.

I don't want to stand in such a big line, so i went back to my old gate A2 to see if the agent there can get me a hotel and rebook my flight, after waiting approximately for 1 hour, i get my turn (Approximately at 4:15AM - close to 6hr 25mins past scheduled departure), She says she cannot help with hotel and there are no flights available for Tuesday and the earliest i can fly is on Wednesday (8/10/16) at 8:04AM, (I asked her to put me on this). She says hotel might be tough to find and i might have to wait in the airport till my next flight and no compensation will be provided, because she was intimated that the power outage is because of a thunderstorm on Monday morning and since its because of weather, they cannot do anything.

With no option left, I took a uber to my friend's place in Atlanta. I tried to check in online for my flight on Wednesday but it didn't let me.

On Wednesday knowing there might be long queues and i am not checked in, I went to airport 2 hrs prior to departure (6:00AM), after standing in line for 1 hour i got my boarding pass and 30 more min to clear the security. I reached gate and was happy to see the flight is on time on the monitor and approximately at 7:30AM (30min before departure), the agent announces that flight is delayed by 2 hours because our crew is taking their needed rest in some other city and after that they will fly to Atlanta and once they are at the gate they will start boarding. Finally we take of approximately at 10:30AM (2hrs 26min past scheduled departure).

It was a crazy night, way too many frustrated passengers, very little number of poor delta employees trying to help and deal with the angry customers.

From outside looking in, at least delta should have contacted every one hours before the cancelled/delayed flights, because no one knew about the situation until they cleared security and they were all stuck there. I was also told its because of weather, which i later found out that it was false. I saw an interview of delta CEO, that it's totally because of fire caused in Delta facility. Try not to give false information to the customers. I am sure this is a very rare outage, may be it's just a one time thing from Delta.

Origin of Diwali

It is since ancient times that Diwali has been celebrated. Now it is not easy to say what really was the reason behind its origin. Different people believe different events to be the cause behind this festival. In north India people believe Diwali is celebrated when Rama comes back from Exile with his wife Sita after slaying Ravana in an epic battle and people in south India believe on this day Sri Krishna killed the demon king Narakasura with his wife Sathyabama. But mainly Diwali is celebrated for the victory of good over evil.

On the Occasion of Diwali (2015), let me share a video, which was screened during Diwali Night 2011 at the Reynolds Performing arts center, The University of Oklahoma, Norman, this video tells the story of Rama.

Diwali (or Deepavali, the "festival of lights") is an ancient Hindu festival celebrated every year. Diwali is one of the largest and brightest festivals in India. The festival spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, and hope over despair. Its celebration includes millions of lights shining on housetops, outside doors and windows, around temples and other buildings in the communities and countries where it is observed. The festival preparations and rituals typically extend over a five day period, but the main festival night of Diwali coincides with the darkest, new moon night of the Hindu Lunisolar month Kartika. In the Gregorian calendar, Diwali night falls between mid-October and mid-November.

Before Diwali night, people clean, renovate, and decorate their homes and offices. On Diwali night, Hindus dress up in new clothes or their best outfit, light up diyas (lamps and candles) inside and outside their home, participate in family puja (prayers) typically to Lakshmi – the goddess of wealth and prosperity. After puja, fireworks follow, then a family feast including mithai (sweets), and an exchange of gifts between family members and close friends. Deepavali also marks a major shopping period in nations where it is celebrated.

Diwali is an important festival for Hindus. The name of festive days as well as the rituals of Diwali vary significantly among Hindus, based on the region of India. In many parts of India, the festivities start with Dhanteras (in Northern and Western part of India), followed by Naraka Chaturdasi on second day, Deepavali on the third day, Diwali Padva dedicated to wife–husband relationship on the fourth day, and festivities end with Bhau-beej dedicated to sister–brother bond on the fifth day. Dhanteras usually falls eighteen days after Dussehra.

On the same night that Hindus celebrate Diwali, Jains celebrate a festival of lights to mark the attainment ofmoksha by Mahavira, Sikhs celebrate Bandi Chhor Divas and some Buddhists also celebrate Diwali remembering Ashoka's conversion to Buddhism. Diwali is an official holiday in Nepal, India, Sri Lanka,Mauritius, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, Suriname, Malaysia, Singapore and Fiji.

A tribute to congratulate Cricketing God's 50 test Century and to Remember you all those 50 great moments.

Little master Sachin Tendulkar completed 50 test centuries with the latest century against South Africa at Centurion.Some of the memorable movements below in pictures for all his 50 test centuries.

No. 1: Sachin Tendulkar saved the Old Trafford Test for India in 1990 with an unbeaten 119 in the final innings. At 17 years and 112 days, he was only a month older than Mushtaq Mohammad was when he had become Test cricket’s youngest centurion. Wisden noted: “He looked the embodiment of India’s famous opener, Gavaskar, and indeed was wearing a pair of his pads.”

No. 2: “This little prick’s going to end up with more runs than you, AB,” Merv Hughes said as Tendulkar wrecked Shane Warne’s debut with an unbeaten 148 at the SCG in 1992. He was the youngest boy to score a Test century in Australia.

No. 3: On a lethal pitch at the WACA in 1992, Tendulkar made 114 against an attack that included Craig McDermott and Merv Hughes, scoring the bulk of his runs with square cuts. “That is when I felt that, yes, now I am here to play cricket anywhere in the world, any bowling attack and I am confident enough to tackle them,” he would say, years later.

No. 4: On his way to 111 at the Wanderers in 1992, Tendulkar, at 19 years and 217 days, became the youngest batsman to reach 1000 Test runs, displacing Kapil Dev. “In my era, I think he’s the best player I’ve ever had the pleasure of playing against,” Allan Donald, who bowled to Tendulkar in that match, said in 2007.

No. 5: His first century in India was against England in 1993 in Madras, a venue at which he would play many more memorable innings. “Tendulkar’s six-hour 165 – including 24 fours and a six – was a gem but, had a third umpire, using TV replay, been on hand to review a run-out attempt by Lewis when he was on 9, India might not have made such a conclusive total,” Wisden reported.

No. 6: Tendulkar’s second-innings 104 at the SSC in 1993 was his first century in Sri Lanka. It helped set up India’s first Test victory in the country. He provided the thrust that allowed India to make a declaration and complete the win late on the final day.

No. 7: A 142 in India’s innings-victory against Sri Lanka in Lucknow in 1994. “The home team’s start was uninspiring, the openers struggled to find their rhythm against Wickremasinghe …” Wisden reported. “Not until mid-afternoon, when the assured Tendulkar helped place conditions in perspective, did India resemble the side so used to dominating visiting teams.”

No. 8: Tendulkar’s 179 in Nagpur in 1994 was his first hundred against the West Indians and it remained his highest score until his maiden double-century in 1999. He got to this century by hooking Courtney Walsh for six.

No. 9: Tendulkar made 122 out of 219 in the second innings at Edgbaston in 1996. No other batsman reached 20. “It will be difficult for India to get back into the series having lost the first Test. However, if one player can make it possible it is Tendulkar,” Imran Khan wrote in the Daily Telegraph. “His hundred in the second innings was pure class. His compact defence and freedom of strokes on both sides of the wicket with a straight or a horizontal bat makes me feel that he might break all batting records – especially as he is even younger than Brian Lara.”

No. 10: A 177 at Trent Bridge in 1996 helped ensure Tendulkar was Wisden’s Cricketer of the Year. “Tendulkar averages over 50 in Tests and is the supreme right-hander, if not quite the finest batsman, on the planet. He is a focused technician, who offers a counterpoint to Brian Lara’s more eye-catching destruction, fuelled on flair and ego,” Wisden said. “He has, it seems, been around for ever. In the third Test at Trent Bridge last summer, he scored 177, the tenth century of his Test career and his second of the series: yet remarkably, at 23, Tendulkar was younger than any member of the England team, with only Dominic Cork and Min Patel born even in the same decade.”

No. 11: Tendulkar’s 169 at Newlands in 1997 was part of a thrilling stand with Mohammad Azharuddin. They added 222 in 40 overs. Tendulkar carried on after his partner fell, and helped India avoid the follow-on. He was eventually the last man out, and it needed one of the great out-field catches of all time from Adam Bacher to end it.

No. 12: Tendulkar’s 143 allowed India to declare on 537 for 8 at the Premadasa Stadium in 1997. Sri Lanka’s riposte was 952. Tendulkar said the pitch was “unfit for Test cricket”, adding: “If we had lost the toss and batted second, we could also have played a massive innings. We only lost wickets because we took chances and looked for runs.”

No. 13: In the very next Test, Tendulkar scored 139 in another high-scoring contest at the SSC in Colombo.

No. 14: Another century against Sri Lanka, this time in Mumbai in 1997. Tendulkar toiled for 71 minutes for 8 runs on the first day but found his touch on the second, moving from 87 to 99 with successive sixes off Kumar Dharmasena. During his innings of 148, Tendulkar went past 4000 Test runs, and his 256-run stand with Sourav Ganguly was an Indian record for the fourth wicket.

No. 15: The torment of Australia, and Warne, continued in Chennai, where Tendulkar made 155 in 1998. The contest between the two champions was among the best Ian Chappell had watched. “The defining moment came just after lunch, when Warne went round the wicket with Tendulkar having just passed his fifty,” Chappell wrote on ESPNcricinfo. “Tendulkar took to his offerings like a kid offered a lolly-shop gift voucher. A brace of sixes and fours from lofted sweep/pull shots to the midwicket region convinced Warne to abort this tactic. Tendulkar’s preparatory work had proved to be a masterstroke.”

No. 16: Tendulkar scored 177 out of the 281 runs India added while he was at the crease against Australia in Bangalore in 1998. Wisden said he was “impossible to contain” and on the second morning Tendulkar scored 60 off 64 balls, before falling to little-known Adam Dale.

No. 17: At Napier in 1990, Tendulkar had fallen 12 short of becoming the youngest Test centurion. Eight years later, in Wellington, he made his first Test hundred in New Zealand off 123 balls.

No 18: Tendulkar’s 136, a masterclass made with a spasming back, took India to the verge of victory against Pakistan in Chennai in 1999, but the tail collapsed after he was dismissed with only 17 to get. “Because he was such a big player and in awesome form at the time, we were all pretty sure that Sachin was going to win the game for them,” Moin Khan, Pakistan’s wicketkeeper at the time, said years later. “But as soon as we got him out, it became obvious to us that we would win – in those days India’s reliance on him was much greater than it is now.”

No. 19: Tendulkar made an unbeaten 124 in the third innings of a nondescript Test at the SSC in 1999, which ended in a draw.

No. 20: Having spent a month recovering from back trouble, Tendulkar scored a valuable second-innings century – 126 not out – that helped India post 505 for 3 after they had collapsed for 83 in the first innings against New Zealand at Mohali in 1999.

No. 21: Tendulkar scored his first double-century – 217 against New Zealand at Motera in 1999 – in his 71st Test.

No. 22: Tendulkar made 116 out of a total of 238 at the MCG in 1999, a Test India lost by 180 runs. “Somewhat unsurprisingly, it was yet again the brilliant Tendulkar who was answering the unenviable call to shore up India’s battered defences,” wrote John Polack. “After an engrossing battle with a bouncer-hungry McGrath had kept him subdued through the early part of his stay, he gradually began to increase his scoring rate with a number of beautifully crafted strokes … Quite simply, his sense of assurance and sheer range of shots against an adroitly rotated attack were perfectly applied in these hostile circumstances.”

No 23: An extract from ESPNcricinfo’s report from the day: Tendulkar made 122 against Zimbabwe at the Kotla in 2000, John Wright’s first Test as India coach. “Earlier, Tendulkar was visibly miffed with himself. On a flat batting track, against a friendly Zimbabwean attack, he got himself out for just 122. The way Tendulkar was batting, that should have been just the beginning. After flaying Brian Strang for three boundaries in the first over of the day, Tendulkar pounced on anything loose … each one was a shot of class.”

No. 24: The unbeaten 201 against Zimbabwe in Nagpur in 2000 was the 50th international century of Tendulkar’s career. He was the first batsman to score so many. Sunil Gavaskar, Viv Richards and Desmond Haynes, all retired, had 35 hundreds, and Mark Waugh 31 at the time.

No. 25: The 126 in Chennai against Australia in 2001 helped India win one of the greatest series of all time. He reached the century with his second six, off Colin Miller, and also hit 15 fours. Three came in an over from Shane Warne. Two were played to the fine-leg boundary after which, Warne, bowling from round the wicket, bounced Tendulkar, who responded with an upper-cut to the third-man boundary.

No. 26: Another hundred in defeat – 155 in Bloemfontein in 2001 – on Virender Sehwag’s debut. During the innings Tendulkar, at 28 years and 193 days, became the youngest to score 7000 runs. He reached his century off 114 balls and at one point had hit eight fours in 18 deliveries. “I didn’t want to think about what was coming next,” Tendulkar said afterwards. “I thought let’s just deal with the present. My first line to him [Sehwag] when he came in was `I know you’re tense. You’re never going to be this tense again, so enjoy the moment’.”

No. 27: His 103 at Motera in 2001 was more than a third of India’s first-innings total against England. “Tendulkar was supreme in the afternoon, ridiculing England’s packed off-side fields by whipping balls from outside off through the leg side at will,” Wisden reported. “Hussain’s captaincy was enthusiastic, clear-sighted and, at times, uncompromisingly negative: he never allowed the game to drift, marshalled his limited resources intelligently and posed Tendulkar question upon question, most of which were answered perfectly.”

No. 28: Tendulkar’s 176 against Zimbabwe in Nagpur 2001 set up India’s innings victory. The century took him to one fewer than Don Bradman’s tally of 29.

No. 29: Tendulkar’s 117 – his first Test century in the West Indies – helped India win a tense Test in Trinidad by 37 runs in 2001. “Following a difficult start – on 6, he survived a confident claim for a catch at the wicket off Sanford – Tendulkar settled to build his 29th Test hundred, which put him level with Don Bradman, though he had taken 93 Tests to Bradman’s 52,” Wisden reported. “It was a resolute rather than commanding innings.”

No. 30: Tendulkar scored 193 in his 99th Test, at Headlingley in 2002, contributing significantly to India’s innings-and-46-run victory. “The beauty of Tendulkar is the ability to make shots that the merely very good players cannot – and the wiser 29-year-old model even does it without risk,” wrote Rahul Bhattacharya in the Guardian. “His wrists are a curious mix of clay and steel: able to take any shape, then, trading suppleness for force for the briefest moment that bat meets ball. Yesterday he swirled his way about on the onside as if it was his very own version of leg theory.”

No. 31: India were 11 for 2, needing to erase a 139-run deficit against West Indies, when Tendulkar rallied with 176 to save the game in Kolkata, 2002. “It has been said innumerable times in the past, most loudly by his critics, that Tendulkar fails to make runs when India need it the most,” wrote Anand Vasu for Cricinfo. “Today … not being altogether destructive, or indeed too defensive, Tendulkar remained unbeaten on 114 as the players walked off the field.”

No. 32: Tendulkar ended a two-year fallow period with an unbeaten 241 at the SCG in 2004, an innings in which he cut out shots between mid-off and point because he was falling to them. “I would put this innings right at the top of my hundreds,” he said. “I am happy that I was able to maintain the discipline throughout the innings. Things had gone wrong a couple of times with my shot selection, and I knew I had to cut out a few strokes.”

No. 33: The 194 in Multan in 2004 was controversial. Tendulkar, who was batting slowly, was denied a shot at a double-century when Rahul Dravid declared as India pushed for victory. “Even the greatest have their goals, dreams and milestones, and a double-century against Pakistan in Pakistan would have been a memory to treasure,” John Wright, India’s coach, wrote in his book. “After a sleepless night, I spoke to Tendulkar who confirmed that he’d wanted the team to cut him some slack. Then he and Dravid talked it through and resolved the matter.”

No. 34: The 248 in Dhaka in 2004 was Tendulkar’s highest score and it brought him level with Sunil Gavaskar’s world record number of centuries. “I said to him my expectations are higher and I want not 40 but 50 Test hundreds from him,” Gavaskar said. “When I saw Sachin play a flick wide of mid-on in the nets for the [Ranji] Probables team I knew here was a special talent.”

No. 35: The 109 against Sri Lanka at the Kotla in 2005 gave Tendulkar the world record. “His 35th hundred was not his prettiest. A large part of it was a struggle,” wrote Sambit Bal. “But it will remain a memorable one. And who knows, it could even be a liberating one. How his career shapes from here might depend on how much freedom he grants himself.”

No. 36: The 101 in Chittagong in 2007 came 17 months, 10 Tests and 17 innings after No. 35, the longest gap Tendulkar endured between centuries. “After 17 years, I don’t think I have a point to prove,” Tendulkar said. “I would dedicate this to my father as it was his eighth death anniversary yesterday. So, this one was pretty emotional.”

No. 37: The unbeaten 122 in the next Test in Dhaka wasn’t pretty. “Tendulkar couldn’t improvise and play a scoring shot when deceived by the slowness of the wicket,” Sidharth Monga wrote for Cricinfo. “Not long ago, you’d describe him as a batsman who had two shots for every ball; here he was struggling to do anything more than nudge it to leg. It was all the more painful to see him make the conditions and bowling look more difficult than they probably were.”

No. 38: An unbeaten 154 at the SCG in 2008, aka Monkeygate. “Commit all your crimes when Sachin is batting,” one banner read. “They will go unnoticed because even the Lord is watching.” Another said: “Sachin Cricket Ground.” Tendulkar called the SCG “one of my favourite grounds . Sometimes you walk on the field and it gives you good feelings. It is one of those grounds.”

No. 39: A 153 at the Adelaide Oval, his first at Don Bradman’s home ground, in 2007-08. “Unless his nerve fails him or batting becomes a chore, Tendulkar will be back in 2012,” wrote Peter Roebuck in the Sydney Morning Herald. “Far from losing focus, he looks eager. Rejecting the captaincy helped him to renew his vitality. After a struggle, he has come to terms with age; has learnt to combine the singles of experience with the boundaries of youth.”

No. 40: A 109 in Sourav Ganguly’s final Test helped India win the series against Australia 2-0 in Nagpur in 2008. “I know I am batting well, but I was not getting to the three-figure landmark. But I don’t think that is everything,” Tendulkar said. “I have gone in at crucial [stages] at almost four or five times and I have been able to play. That is very satisfying, when you deliver when the team needs the most.”

No. 41: Tendulkar’s match-winning 103 in a run-chase against England in Chennai, less than a month after Mumbai was attacked in 2008. “He’s 35 years old and owns practically every batting record in the game, but you couldn’t escape the feeling that this was probably Sachin Tendulkar’s finest hour,” wrote Dileep Premachandran. “To score the winning runs in a record-shattering chase was special enough, but when that last stroke also brought up your 41st century, it became ineffably so.”

No. 42: A 160 in Hamilton in 2009 was the bedrock of a victory that led to India’s series win. “When will Tendulkar retire? Answer: when it suits him. But he’ll certainly be around until the 2011 World Cup,” wrote David Leggat in the New Zealand Herald. “That gives him two years at least. Eight more centuries give him 50. He’s got 43 in ODIs. A double of 50 in each form of the game has a nice ring to it. It is certainly within his capabilities.”

No. 43: An unbeaten 100 on a flat pitch at Motera in 2009 helped India draw the Test against Sri Lanka, after the visitors had amassed 760 in their first innings. It ensured Sri Lanka stayed without a Test win in India.

No. 44: Sehwag called Bangladesh an ordinary side before the Chittagong Test in 2009 and Tendulkar’s unbeaten 105 was needed to prop India up to 243 in the first innings, in a match they eventually won.

No. 45: The 143 against Bangladesh in Mirpur in the next Test was a relatively quick one. It took 182 balls and led to India’s ten-wicket win.

No. 46: A second-innings 100 from Tendulkar couldn’t prevent South Africa from steam-rolling India by an innings and six runs in Nagpur in February 2010.

No. 47: The 106 in Kolkata helped India level the series against South Africa and stay No. 1 in Tests. “Watching him bat can be a demoralising experience for those on the other side. He knows his game so well, and seldom does anything more than is required,” Cricinfo reported. “With Tendulkar these days, as opposed to the man who eviscerated Shane Warne in Chennai and Bangalore in 1998, patience is a weapon used to wear down bowlers.”

No. 48: Sri Lanka declared on 642 for 4 at the SSC and India slipped from 165 for 0 to 241 for 4. Tendulkar scored his 48th century and converted it into a double, giving India the lead. “Yesterday when I got into the dressing room, I had a long ice bath. I was in the ice tub for a while. Then I did some stretches, had an early dinner, and I was in bed by 8.30,” he said. “For almost all four days, I have been on the field. It’s been demanding on the body, but it’s held up pretty well.”

No. 49: A 214 in Bangalore helped secure India’s 2-0 win against Australia in 2010. “On his last tour of Australia, Tendulkar was given rapturous ovations by an adoring public each time he went in or out. But the Australians might not have seen the last of him,” wrote Sambit Bal. “Fifty Test hundreds are but a formality. A hundred international hundreds are there for the taking. Tendulkar, though, endures not in the pursuit of milestones, but because he can’t fall out of love with cricket.”

No. 50: India began their second innings in Centurion with a deficit for 484 and were reduced to 277 for 6. Tendulkar rallied, along with Dhoni, and his century changed India’s prospects of saving the game from impossible to improbable.

1. Kimberley Big Hole – South Africa
Apparently the largest ever hand-dug excavation in the world, this 1097-meter-deep mine yielded over three tons of diamonds before being closed.

2. Glory Hole – Monticello Dam, California
This is the Glory Hole at Monticello Dam, and it’s the largest in the world of this type of spillway, its size enabling it to consume 14,400 cubic feet of water every second.
A glory hole is used when a dam is at full capacity and water needs to be drained from the reservoir.
3. Great Blue Hole, Belize
This incredible geographical phenomenon known as a blue hole is situated 60 miles off the mainland of Belize .
There are numerous blue holes around the world but none as stunning as this one.

4. Sinkhole in Guatemala
This photo is of a sinkhole that occurred February 2007 in Guatemala . It swallowed two dozen homes and killed at least three people.

5. This Indian Parliament is the famous Rat Hole.
It is capable of swallowing Millions of Tax Payers Money annually, never to be heard from again! It is reputed to contain at least 552 (updated)+250 ass”holes” (whoa… sorry about that, but it doesn’t rhyme with anything else).

Embrio One-Wheel Concept:

This hydrogen fuel cell powered, gyroscopically balanced, one-wheeled recreational and commuting vehicle provides an extraordinary vision of the kind of personal transport we could be using 20 years from now.

The design brief for the BRP EMBRIO Concept was to "create highly innovative, functional and exciting products to exceed people's recreational needs" and find the "next thing" in recreational vehicles. The result is a futuristic and minimalistic one-wheeler that is as about far away as you can get from the conventional image of a uni-cycle - a mode of transport normally associated with circuses and street parades.

Balancing Act

The riding position will be similar to a motorcycle with a complex series of sensors and gyroscopes balancing passengers on the single wheel. The rider activates a trigger on the left handlebar to accelerate and turns are made by shifting body-weight rather than actually steering.

When the EMBRIO concept is at rest in "stand-by configuration", the front wheels deploy to the ground like landing gear on a plane to increase longitudinal stability. The landing gear retracts when the vehicle speed reaches 20 km/h but even without the landing gear, the EMBRIO would be stable when motionless because of the gyroscope.

The EMBRIO concept's main power source is a hydrogen fuel cell and additional advanced technologies including a high-performance braking system, active suspension, night vision, a digitally encoded key and robotic assistance would be incorporated into the design.

The Concept is constructed from lightweight materials including Polypropylene, Santoprene, nylon (injection moulding), aluminum (stamping, die casting and robotic assembly), magnesium (casting) and the use of fuel cell technology and recycling of aluminum and polyethylene is designed to make the Bombardier EMBRIO an eco-friendly design throughout its life cycle.

The BRP EMBRIO concept is one of several concepts proposed by Canadian based Bombardier Recreational Products and it received the Gold Award at the 2003 Annual Design Awards (Industrial Design Society of America & Business Week Magazine).

BMW IMME 1200:

The IMME 1200 concept motorbike was the creation of two French design students of the ISD (International School of Design).

The IMME 1200 is based around the BMW R1200 engine. The name IMME comes from a now extinct German motorcycle maker.

The IMME 1200 concept motorbike gained the interest of BMW who helped in the creation of a prototype for the 2006 Intermot Motorcycle Show in Cologne to go on show at the BMW stand.

A slick trick of the BMW IMME 1200 concept bike is that all the parts needed to be road legal, license plates, lights, mirrors can be removed with the engine start key and then the machine becomes 'track ready'.

PC Booting Slow? Speed up System Start Up

Here is a small tweak (not exactly) to speed up the System Startup. The system start up speed may go down due to several reasons. But the most common one is the Clustering of the system startup programs. Too many programs start when the user logs in or the system restarts. This is a very big hassle. Many viruses/trojans too can be found in the system startup folder.
Removing these will have a (very) noticeable effect on the start up speed and may even prevent some malwares from starting up. Here’s how you can remove them.

Follow these steps to remove the startup programs in Windows Operating System:

Go to Start –> Run
or
Type (Windows Key+R)

Type “msconfig” (without the quotes) and press Enter

The System Configuration Utility will open. Go to the Startup tap at the end.

Untick all the unwanted programs. I suggest you Disable all of them by clicking on the “Disable All” Button on the bottom right corner.

Once You are done deselecting the ones you don’t need or want, Click on Apply and then Click on Close.
It will ask you to Restart to apply the changes. Click on Restart, and see the change for yourself.
That’s it. You are done.

You can even Disable the Services you don’t need by Going to the Services tab in the System Configuration Utility.

Windows RUN Commands : Complete List

Here is an ‘almost’ complete list of Run Commands in the Windows Operating System.Many of them save a lot of time. Instead of searching for that program in the huge list of installed ones, all you have to do is to open Run and type the Command. You don’t need to remember everything. Just remember the ones you use regularly. I’ve highlighted the ones I use regularly. Have a look and start choosing and using. To open the Run terminal – Go to Start –> Run… or press and hold down the Windows key and press R (Win+R). Type any one of the below given codes and then see the magic (not exactly)….

Note: Some of these Run Commands need the Programs to be installed. For example – typing ‘winword’ in a computer that doesn’t have Microsoft Office in it, gives an error.

Old Ways of Cheating

Disclaimer: This piece of article is for the sole purpose of fun and sarcasm. No responsibility for anyone taking a leaf outta this article is hereby accepted(means that I am not responsible for any idiot taking his ideas from this article). Ya, I almost forgot, CHEATING IS A CRIME.

Here is the Oxford meaning of Cheating:

Cheating: to act in a dishonest way in order to gain an advantage, especially in a game, acompetition, an exam, etc.

Well, in the good old days, when there were no schools or Universities, people used to buy the booksdirectly, apply for an exam they wished to attend(like 7,10 etc..) and study for it just one month in advance before the final play. It helped them a lot, although not giving them the good percentage(like that mattered). But the availability of jobs and the scarcity of competition can be cited as the reason for the success of that kind of clan. But now the times have changed and so has the competition. We now have about a thousand guys for one job. This led to the strict measures of filtering by the HR's of the respective companies to select the best suited guy for his organisation. To equal the standard maintained by those Organisations, our universities(OU, JNTU etc...) have increased the syllabus of the courses they are offering. The Universities thought that maybe, by increasing the scope of the syllabus would make their alumni more oecumenical. So naturally by implication the hieght and width of the books have increased making it difficult for the average student to study that in one month or in case of a B.Tech Student-one night. So an alternative form of scoring seemed essential for the upholding of the marks. This alternative form, as many thousand(or maybe lakhs who knows) of students found, is in the form ofcheating.

In short cheating is a way of getting marks 'the easy way'. Although the satisfaction involved in it would be dull, but the point here is to get required marks. Guys who just need the pass percentage always choose this way. There are many ways of cheating-

Asking someone for an answer right in the middle of an examination, bringing the unwanted paper scraps with microscopic answers written on them, answers written on 'various' body parts, keeping the booksin the desks, papers in handkeys, pouches, in pens, writing the answers on the desks(most common ininternals), taking the mini-xerox of the Spectrum for the final exam(easy for them to cheat, but very easy for the proctor to catch), sticking the chit below the desk or to the shoe with the help of chewing gum, magnet(the rattlesnake one), writing the answer on the soles of feet, on hands, between the fingers,Cheating with electronic instruments like cell-phones, etc...

We'll discuss some of the most common ways of cheating first.

The Classical Copy:

Well for many years now, and many years to come, bringing information on scraps of paper will be theclassic way of cheating. Although this might seem easy at first, it all depends on the proctor present. Now I've seen many funny scenes involving this kind of cheating. Why, not even two months back, when a fellow was trying to throw a chit to his friend, the chit went flying into the invigilator's lap. That was one good laugh till the lecturer found out who threw that chit. More of that later, but coming to the point, the classical copy involves a fair bit of hard work before the exam. I mean, the concerned student has to-first tear the paper into the correct proportion of bits, then use a ball point .5mm tip pen to write the subject on that bits of paper with astounding font size(requires heavy experience). One small strikewhile writing on the chit paper, then he has to write the whole thing all over again. Although two or three strikes may help the referred student learn the answers pretty well, this classical way of copying is a hard one to cover.

Once completed, then the real play begins in the exam.Imagine watching a student trying the classical copy method from a side angle. This fellow will start byinserting his chit in the paper(answer sheet or below the desk).He will try to look innocent and keeps watching the examiner if he has been discovered(not to mention the sweating). Then he will start turning the paper over and over again trying to decipher the code he himself has written till the proctor's suspicionis raised. Although a student may even try putting the chit in the examination hall before the exam to reduce his risk factor, this method is a goner in the externals because the students are not allowed inside the examination hall before the exam commences. All an invigilator has to do to catch the student is check the students answer sheets. Once caught, then thepunishment recieved will be grevious.

Asking Act:

You must have listened to this proverb-"Ask and you shall be answered".If you lose a sense of direction when you are going to a new place, you ask for somebody's help. If you think I am comparing this with the Asking act, then you are so woefully wrong. Cheating is a crime. Anyways, this act involvesasking the person in front, beside or behind the concerned student for a clue or an answer. I've seen many "first years" performing this silly act. The only problem in commiting to this, is that one has to useone's voice to receive help from others. This makes them vulnerable. If the proctor is in a close range or has sensitive ears, then there's no way to get out of this.

Using Yourself:

You have your hands and your legs for a reason or so they say....Writing the info on hands(palms, between fingers, arms) and legs(soles) seems to be the easiest way of performing this way of cheating. I've seen guys writing the formulas on the paper as soon as they enter the exam hall and then immediatelyerase them from their hands or legs.

Writing on the desk:

Normally people write on the desks with pencils and then erase them as soon as they copy that into their paper. This is same as the above method 'Using Yourself'. But the desks are thoroughly checked before every exam. So guys thinking of attempting this way can take it out their mind.

Electronic Cheating:

This has long been taken care of. Cell phones are banned in colleges. That put a full stop to this way of cheating. Anyways guys with guts still attempt this one. But they have to first enter the text in theirPC's or cellphones before the exam, then bring it to the hall escaping all the checkings, then find a way to open the cell in the exam. But one thing has to be made sure. If the mobile is not in the silent mode, then I need not tell the consequences. A tone of "Chal Chaiyya Chaiyya" is bound to raise the suspicion of the proctor. But the times are changing along with the technology. Even I-pods are being used now-a-days.

Instead of all this ways of cheating stuff, one could always simply study for the exam, which would be the best way to score marks and be satisfied with that marks and thats saying something. Although the syllabus does not permit writing chits on paper and on hands, its always best to be prepared mentally rather thanresourcefully. You may ask me, what if one fails in an exam ? Well, there's always the supply's as a support. If I could take time to write pages and pages of rubbish on this boring topic, and you could study this crap, than why not others can just simply study for their exams. Anyways I've said it before and I am saying it now, Cheating is a crime and the punishment involved would be severe.

Future of Mobile phone: Concept

Morph is a concept that demonstrates how future mobile devices might be stretchable and flexible, allowing the user to transform their mobile device into radically different shapes. It demonstrates the ultimate functionality that nanotechnology might be capable of delivering: flexible materials, transparent electronics and self-cleaning surfaces.

The ‘SeeSaw’ Mobile Concept:

Featuring a high contrast OLED Display, a thin form factor and an almost flush fitting keypad. On the back there is ridge which houses a camera and a flashlight. This ridge also means if you set the phone down on a flat surface the slightly titled screen will still be visible.

Brix Concept:

The full front face of the device is occupied by the display. But combined with the ability to connect to other Brix handsets, this thing has endless possibilities. The borderless-displays of the Brix handsets can be connected in modular fashion to form one giant display, as you see above. When connected, the handsets can share pics, vids, music, etc. and a temporary media folder is created to share files between the Brix phones until they’re disconnected.

Esato Concept:

Designed from titanium and stainless steel, it measures 45 x 73.5 x 10.25 mm, and has two inner touch-sensitive screens. The main screen measures 2.8 inches, with 400 x 240 resolution, offering 262,000 colours.

ISD Concept:

It's like having Wikipedia wherever you go, but way cooler and more advanced. The artist's impression is for the said portable device to have a touchscreen panel, built-in camera, scanner, Wi-Fi connectivity, Google Maps and Google Search capabilities, etc.

The screen will probably double as the camera viewfinder, so it's like looking through a piece of transparent glass. And when you point it at an object, the device will be able to show you more details about it--such as the name of an insect, a car model, or food on the table--on the screen. We suppose at this point of time it will use the onboard Wi-Fi to grab information off the Web.

The phone has a 3 Megapixel camera and there is a 65k color LCD touchscreen display. The LCD display is not for you to preview the picture, instead a transparent frame is used as a viewfinder. The phone is named “What You See Is What You Get”. because what you can see in the Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â a transparent frame (viewframe) is what you can get as a photo shot.
