Aamir Khan-starrer wrestling drama Dangal has grossed around Rs 1,501 crore worldwide, collecting $12.64 million till 11 pm (China Standard Time) on Sunday in China and has become second Indian film to gross over Rs 1,500 crore. Dangal, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, has grossed over $113 million in China, becoming highest non-Hollywood foreign grosser in the Chinese box office, posing threat to the position of S S Rajamouli's action fantasy epic Baahubali: The Conclusion as the top worldwide grosser among Indian films. It is also the highest grosser at the overseas box office among Indian movies.

Dangal grossed Rs 1,501 crore till now, among which Rs 731.36 crore is from China and Rs 25.78 crore is from Taiwan, according to movie trade analyst Ramesh Bala. In the Chinese box office charts, Dangal has dethroned Guardians of the Galaxy-2 in China in the second week and continues to be at the top since then.

Dangal is very likely to cross Baahubali-2's worldwide gross collections soon as Baahubali's theatrical run is slowing down in most areas. Baahubali-2's worldwide collections stand at Rs 1,538 crore till Saturday and India collections stand at Rs 973 crore net, according to Ramesh Bala.

Brave step:Kerala woman chops off genitals of godman who allegedly raped her

A 23-year-old woman nearly chopped off the genitals of a godman, who had allegedly been repeatedly raping her over the past several years with the connivance of her mother.

The woman used a knife to chop off his genitals when he reportedly tried to rape her on Friday night. The godman, identified as Gangesananda was rushed to the Government Medical College Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram by the woman’s relatives. A hospital release said on Saturday morning that he was admitted with 90% of his genitals cut off. He was immediately operated upon and is recovering.

The godman has been visiting her home for the past five years and allegedly had an illicit relationship with the woman’s mother. The woman has told the police that he had been raping her ever since she was studying in class 12. The police have registered a case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act against the godman and the woman’s mother.

Dangal collected 34.80 crores on its 2nd Monday and now stands with a grand total of 417.50 crores!

Aamir Khan’s biographical sports drama Dangal has created history at the Chinese box office. The film crossed the 400 crore benchmark in just 11 days in China. It collected 34.80 crores ($ 4.86 million) on its 2nd Monday and now stands with a grand total of 417.50 crores ($ 65.13 million).

Interestingly, the film has even surpassed its Indian lifetime business (387.38 crores nett) in merely 11 days. With the humongous contribution from China, the film has crossed the $ 90 million mark at the overseas box office.

Army officer found killed in Shopian district

The body of the Lieutenant rank officer was found with bullet wounds in Hermain area of the district, they said.

An army officer was on Wednesday found killed in Shopian district of south Kashmir, police sources said.

Police said the officer, hailing from neighbouring Kulgam district, had gone to Shopian to attend the marriage function of a relative.

An army official here said they have received an input and are verifying the circumstances in which the officer was found dead.

भारतीय अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान संगठन द्वारा निर्मित नवीनतम संचार उपग्रह जीसैट..9 को एसएएस रोड पिग्गीबैक कहा जाता है जिसे 50 मीटर लंबे रॉकेट स्वदेशी क्रायोजेनिक इंजन वाले जीएसएलवी से प्रक्षेपित किया गया है.

आंध्रप्रदेश के श्रीहरिकोटा स्थित सतीश धवन अंतरिक्ष केंद्र से जीएसएलवी..एफ09 को शाम चार बजकर 57 मिनट पर प्रक्षेपित किया गया और इसे जीसैट..9 से कक्षा में स्थापित किया गया.

प्रक्षेपण की सफलता की घोषणा करते हुए प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने ट्वीट किया, ‘दक्षिण एशियाई उपग्रह का सफल प्रक्षेपण ऐतिहासिक क्षण है. इससे समझौते के नये आयाम खुलेंगे. इससे दक्षिण एशिया और हमारे क्षेत्र को काफी लाभ मिलेगा.’जीएसएलवी..एफ09 मिशन जीएसएलवी की 11वीं उड़ान है.

जीसैट..9 2230 किलोग्राम की वहनक्षमता वाला भूस्थतिक संचार उपग्रह है जो केयू..बैंड में दक्षिण एशियाई देशों को विभिन्न संचार सेवा मुहैया कराएगा.

बीते रविवार को ‘मन की बात’ कार्यक्रम में मोदी ने घोषणा की थी कि दक्षिण एशिया उपग्रह अपने पड़ोसी देशों को भारत की ओर से कीमती उपहार होगा.

मोदी ने कहा था कि पांच मई को भारत दक्षिण एशिया उपग्रह का प्रक्षेपण करेगा. इस सैटेलाइट को कूटनीतिक स्तर पर भारत के मास्टर स्ट्रोक की तरह देखा जा रहा है

इससे पहले संचार उपग्रह जीएसएटी-8 का प्रक्षेपण 21 मई 2011 को फ्रेंच गुएना के कोउरो से हुआ था.

सार्क देशों को क्या फायदे होंगे और इसकी खूबियों पर एक नज़र

इसरो के मुताबिक-इसके ज़रिए सभी सहयोगी देश अपने-अपने टीवी कार्यक्रमों का प्रसारण कर सकेंगे. किसी भी आपदा के दौरान उनकी संचार सुविधाएं बेहतर होंगी.इससे देशों के बीच हॉटलाइन की सुविधा दी जा सकेगी और टेली मेडिसिन सुविधाओं को भी बढ़ावा मिलेगा.

साउथ एशिया सैटेलाइट की लागत क़रीब 235 करोड़ रुपए है जबकि सैटेलाइट के लॉन्च समेत इस पूरे प्रोजेक्ट पर भारत 450 करोड़ रुपए खर्च करने जा रहा है.

अफ़गानिस्तान ने अभी साउथ एशिया सैटलाइट की डील पर दस्तखत नहीं किए हैं, क्योंकि उसका अफ़गानसैट अभी काम कर रहा है. यह भारत का ही बना एक पुराना सैटलाइट है, जिसे यूरोप से लीज पर लिया गया है.2015 में आए भूकंप के बाद नेपाल को भी एक संचार उपग्रह की ज़रूरत है, नेपाल ऐसे दो संचार उपग्रह हासिल करना चाहता है.

अंतरिक्ष से जुड़ी तकनीक में भूटान काफ़ी पीछे है. इसलिए साउथ एशिया सैटेलाइट का उसे बड़ा फ़ायदा होने जा रहा है.स्पेस टेक्नोलॉज़ी में बांग्लादेश ने अभी कदम रखने शुरू किए ही हैं. साल के अंत तक वह अपना ख़ुद का बंगबंधु -1 कम्युनिकेशन सैटेलाइट छोड़ने की तैयारी में है.

श्रीलंका 2012 में चीन की मदद से अपना पहला संचार उपग्रह लॉन्च कर चुका है. उसने चीन की मदद से सुप्रीम सैट उपग्रह तैयार किया था. लेकिन साउथ एशिया सैटलाइट से उसकी क्षमताओं में इजाफा होगा.स्पेस टैक्नोलॉजी के नाम पर मालदीव्स खाली हाथ है. ऐसे में साउथ एशिया सैटलाइट के जरिए उसे मिली मदद बेहद फायदेमंद साबित होगी.

Indian-origin girl in UK gets 162 IQ points, more than Einstein

A 12-year-old Indian-origin girl in England, who secured two points higher than geniuses Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking in the British Mensa IQ test, has been invited to join the coveted society as a member.
Rajgauri Pawar appeared in the British Mensa IQ Test in Manchester last month, and scored 162 — the highest possible IQ for someone under the age of 18.

She has been invited to join the coveted Mensa IQ test with the highest possible score.

Pawar of Cheshire county is among the one per cent of those who sit in the Mensa test and achieve the maximum mark, with the ‘genius’ benchmark set at 140. She secured 162, two points higher than Einstein and Hawking.

She is one of only 20,000 people to achieve the score worldwide, Mensa said.

“I was a little nervous before the test but it was fine and I’m really pleased to have done so well,” Pawar said.

Pawar joins the elite British Mensa IQ Society as a member after her great performance.

Her father Dr Surajkumar Pawar said, “This wouldn’t have been possible without the efforts of her teachers and the support which my daughter enjoys every day at school”.

She studies at Altrincham Grammar School for Girls, which also expressed pride at her achievement.

“Everybody is delighted. She is a very well-liked student and we all expect great things from her,” said Andrew Barry, her maths teacher.

Swachh Survekshan 2017 : Check the Rank of Your City in Cleanliness Survey

Indore and Bhopal are the cleanest cities of India, according to the Swachh ratings.

The results of the cleanliness survey of 434 cities were announced by Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu on Thursday.

Cities from Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh did well, while those from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar fared poorly in the ratings.

Gujarat has the maximum of 12 cities among the top 50 clean cities, closely followed by Madhya Pradesh with 11 and Andhra Pradesh with eight.

UP has 25 cities in the bottom of the list, with Gonda adjudged the dirtiest city in the country.

इंदौर रहा भारत का सबसे 'स्वच्छ शहर', दूसरे नंबर पर भोपाल

सरकार के स्वच्छ सर्वेक्षण में मध्य प्रदेश का इंदौर शहर सबसे साफ साबित हुआ है. साल 2017 के स्वच्छ सर्वेक्षण के मुताबिक, स्वच्छता रैंकिंग में इंदौर पहले पायदान पर रहा, तो वहीं मध्य प्रदेश की राजधानी भोपाल दूसरे नंबर पर रहा.

इस लिस्ट में मध्य प्रदेश इंदौर और भोपाल के बाद सफाई के मामले में विशाखापट्टनम, सूरत, मैसूरू, तिरुचिरापल्ली, दिल्ली के NDMC वाले इलाके, नवी मुंबई, तिरुपति और वडोदरा का नंबर है.

देश के 434 शहरों और नगरों में कराए गए स्वच्छता सर्वेक्षण के मुताबिक, इसमें हिस्सा लेने वाले 83 फीसदी से अधिक लोगों ने बताया कि उनका इलाके में पिछले साल के मुकाबले ज्यादा साफ-सफाई देखने को मिली है. सरकार की ओर से जारी सर्वेक्षण नतीजों में यह बात भी सामने आई है कि स्वच्छता सर्वेक्षण 2017 के अनुसार, 82% से ज्यादा नागरिकों ने स्वच्छता बुनियादी ढांचा और अधिक कूड़ेदान की उपलब्धता के अलावा घर-घर जाकर कूड़ा इकट्ठा करने जैसी सेवाओं में सुधार पर बात की, जबकि 80% लोगों ने सामुदायिक और सार्वजनिक शौचालयों तक बेहतर पहुंच बनाए जाने पर जोर दिया. इसमें यह भी कहा गया है कि 404 शहरों और कस्बों के 75 फीसदी आवासीय क्षेत्र में ज्यादा सफाई देखी गई. इसके साथ ही 185 शहरों में रेलवे स्टेशन के आसपास का पूरा इलाका स्वच्छ बताया गया है.

The latest violence comes after more protests against India by Kashmiri students in Srinagar

Indians have taken to social media to demand revenge after the army accused Pakistani troops of killing two Indian security personnel in disputed Kashmir.
The army accused Pakistan of mutilating the bodies in Monday's clash on the Line of Control - claims the Pakistani army denied.

But Indians, including the mourning families of the soldiers, feel Pakistan "should be taught a lesson".
Indian PM Narendra Modi has also been criticised for "not taking any action".
Monika, the daughter of head constable Prem Sagar, said she wanted Indian forces to kill at least 10 Pakistani troops to avenge her father.
Many on social media have shared similar sentiments using the hashtag badlalo (take revenge).

Others have pointed out that Mr Modi was yet to appoint a full-time defence minister after Manohar Parrikar left the post to become the chief minister of the coastal state of Goa.

India's finance minister Arun Jaitley, who is also in charge of the defence ministry, said the incident was "reprehensible and inhuman".
"Such acts are unheard of even during wars and definitely never in peace time," he said in a statement broadcast on Indian television.
"The entire country has full faith in the army that they will give the appropriate response."

But Pakistan rejected the allegation, saying its army "was a highly professional force" and it would "never disrespect a soldier, even Indian".
"Indian blame of mutilating Indian soldiers' bodies are also false," it said.
Claimed by both countries, Kashmir has been a flashpoint for more than 60 years.

SS Rajamouli's magnum opus 'Baahubali 2: The Conclusion' has shattered box-office records in film history by crossing the Rs 100 crore mark on day one itself. The multi-lingual film that stars Prabhas and Rana Daggubati in leading roles collected an estimated Rs 122.03 crore nett (cumulative figure of all languages), according to reports on Boxofficeindia.com.
The multi-lingual fantasy drama collected an estimated total of Rs 40.75 crore from the Hindi market. The remaining Rs 81 crore was amassed from the other regional markets. According to reports, the film has broken all Day 1 records to claim the top spot. Another point to be noted is that 'Baahubali 2: The Conclusion' attained this feat on a non-festival weekend.

The Prabhas-Rana starrer has now dethroned Salman Khan's Diwali 2015 release 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' as the highest first day collections of all time. The family drama had collected an estimated Rs 39.32 crore, followed by 'Sultan' which has now moved down to the No 3 spot with a collection of Rs 36.59 crore, while Shah Rukh Khan's 'Happy New Year' comes in fourth at Rs 36.31 crore and Aamir Khan's 'Dhoom 3' closes in the fifth spot at Rs 32.48 crore.

'Baahubali 2: The Conclusion' was one of the highly anticipated films after the phenomenal success of the 2015 film 'Baahubali: The Beginning'. Paired with state-of-the-art VFX and a good storyline, the release of the sequel had fans flocking to theatres in large numbers to have their question 'Why Kattappa killed Baahubali' answered.

Baahubali 2 is breaking records and we so knew that this would happen. The advance booking has already sold 1 million tickets which broke Dangal’s record.

The latest reports suggest that the movie has broken records of Salman Khan’s Sultan, Aamir Khan’s Dangal and Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees in terms of the occupancy.

The website India.com suggested that Baahubali 2 has 95 percent occupancy all over India which is the highest till date in both the years 2016 and 2017.

Salman Khan’s Sultan had created the record with 80-90 % occupancy last year. Aamir’s Dangal, as well as Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees, were leading second with 70 percent occupancies on day one.

95 % occupancy is one record breaking number and Baahubali has therefore made history again.

The film released all over India in 8000 screens and it defeated Sultan which released over 4000 screens.

The popularity of the movie is surely unbeatable. The record-breaking journey has started today and we are pretty sure the first day collections will totally surprise even more or maybe not.

Snapchat’s CEO, Evan Spiegel, is at war with India. Spiegel supposedly said India was too poor for Snapchat and now #BoycottSnapchat is trending in the world’s second most populous country.

According to Anthony Pompliano, a former Snapchat employee, Spiegel dismissed his idea to expand in underutilized markets.

“This app is only for rich people,” said Spiegel, according to Pompliano. “I don’t want to expand into poor countries like India and Spain.”

The accusations were found in documents from a lawsuit between Pompliano and Snap Inc., Snapchat’s parent company.

In a statement to the public, a Snap Inc. spokesperson dismissed Pompliano’s claims as the words of a “disgruntled former employee,” adding: “Obviously Snapchat is for everyone! It’s available worldwide to download for free.”

“We are grateful for our Snapchat community in India and around the world,” the statement read.

In spite of the denial, angry Snapchat users took to the internet. As news of the alleged comments spread, #BoycottSnapchat and #Uninstall_Snapchat began trending in India and around the world.

Reportedly, almost 400,000 users in India deleted the Snapchat app from their phones between Saturday and Sunday.

Twitter users also used the hashtag #1star to encourage others to damage the app’s rating and write scathing reviews on both Android and iOS–as of today, Snapchat has a one star rating on the Indian App Store.

It was even rumored that Indian hackers retaliated by leaking 1.7 million Snapchat users’ data on the “dark web,” but these reports have not been verified.

But as Indians took to their respective app marketplaces in defense of their country’s honor, some locked onto the wrong target. Snapdeal, an e-commerce platform that actually happens to be based in India, received a number of one-star ratings and many uninstalled the unrelated “snap app.”

Reliance Jio Starts Disconnecting Those Who Haven't Recharged Yet; Dhan Dhana Dhan Offer Still Available

Last week, Reliance Jio had announced a new offer for people who hadn't signed up for its Summer Surprise offer. Called the Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan offer, the plan was basically the same as the Summer Surprise Offer, giving three months of 1GB per day usage to anyone who recharges for Rs. 309, plus another Rs. 99 to subscribe for Jio Prime. At the time of the announcement, Reliance Jio had stated that users need to subscribe to Jio Prime membership plan and buy the Rs. 309 or Rs. 509 recharge by April 15 in order to "to avoid degradation and/ or discontinuation of services."

Many users who did not subscribe, including some in the Gadgets 360 team, still have active services - however, Gadgets 360 has learnt that the process of disconnection has started for the users who haven't recharged their Jio number yet.

Based on what we have learned, this process is not going to happen all at once. Apparently, some users have already received the message about the disconnection, while for others it will take a little longer, and over the next couple of days it will happen for all users who have not recharged.

Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan offer last date

At this point, any Reliance Jio user who has not recharged still has the option of getting the Dhan Dhana Dhan offer along with Jio Prime - so if your phone gets disconnected, you can simply go to a Jio store or head over to the Jio website or MyJio app, and pay Rs. 408 (Rs. 99 for Prime, and Rs. 309 for the offer) to get 84 days of data use.

Earlier, Reliance Jio had said that the last date for subscribing to Prime would be March 31, but this was later extended to April 15 along with the Summer Surprise Offer. Now however, Reliance Jio is going to continue offering Jio Prime (and the Dhan Dhana Dhan offer) for the near future, though it's unclear for how long.

The virtual world can be a pretty confusing place, and mistaken identities have often led to a scenario that would give Shakespeare’s Comedy of Errors a run for its script. Though sometimes it has also left everyone in splits, no one likes it if you receive flak. Just yesterday, to protest against Snapchat CEO’s alleged ‘poor India’ remark, many uninstalled and slammed Snapdeal! And a similar incident happened today when many Twitter users got confused between two celebrities — singer Sonu Nigam and actor Sonu Sood.

Nigam, on Monday, got into a controversy after he expressed his displeasure waking up to Azaan calls. The singer termed it as “forced religiousness” and asked when will such acts stop in India. He further said he was against any person who doesn’t follow a religion being ‘woken up by temple and gurudwara’s electricity use’ and called it “gundagardi”, or hooliganism.

Twitterati were not at all happy with his remarks and slammed him for this views. But somehow in all the uproar, his namesake Sonu Sood too was dragged in. Many users got confused which Sonu had made the remark and tagged the actor instead of the singer, taking jibes at him. Few users also called for boycotting Sood’s films. Keeping in mind the Snapchat and Snapdeal confusion, many users had already predicted the goof-up.
