The Prem Rawat Foundation’s new television series, “Words of Peace,” recently premiered on Telecaribe, the most-watched regional television channel in northern Colombia. The television series features short talks by Prem Rawat focused on practical ways people can live with greater clarity, appreciation and personal peace.

Rather than focusing on politics or ideology, the series centers on the shared human experience and the possibility of living with more self-understanding and contentment.

TPRF Founder Prem Rawat is a renowned peace educator and best-selling author whose work has focused for decades on helping people discover personal peace and wellbeing.

Over 13 consecutive weeks, each “Words of Peace” episode offers an opportunity to reflect on life’s deeper questions and the inner resources that all people possess. At a time when many are searching for greater meaning and connection, the series encourages viewers to look within and discover practical tools for living with greater peace and inner strength.

“This series is an invitation for people to reconnect with what is most meaningful in their lives,” says Jake Frankel, TPRF communications director. “The show resonates with people from different backgrounds because the themes speak to universal human experiences – the search for meaning and purpose. Prem Rawat’s warm humor and insightful observations are both entertaining and illuminating.”

Several Peace Education Program volunteers in Colombia also played an important role in helping bring the TV series to Telecaribe viewers.

Serving Colombia’s Caribbean Coast, Telecaribe’s signal has nationwide reach and it is carried free of charge by cable operators throughout South America, Central America and North America. The series can also be watched live worldwide via Telecaribe’s website, telecaribe.co.

TPRF is a nonprofit organization that supports peace education and humanitarian initiatives around the world focused on helping people live with greater dignity, peace and prosperity.

In early 2026, The Prem Rawat Foundation (TPRF), together with Premsagar Foundation and Youth Peace Foundation, delivered free eye care to underserved communities at clinics across India. The clinics, held in Mirzapur, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Hyderabad and New Delhi served 5,800 patients. These clinics are part of an ongoing humanitarian initiative that has already served hundreds of thousands of people, offering vision screenings, free spectacles, medications and referrals for advanced treatment.

The Need for Eye Care in India

Across India, vision impairment remains a widespread yet often overlooked challenge. Millions of people live with preventable or treatable conditions but lack access to basic eye care. Many cases are linked to cataracts and other conditions that can be effectively treated when diagnosed early.

For those in rural and other underserved communities, even a simple eye exam is often unaffordable. Without a diagnosis, treatment cannot begin. This creates a cycle in which poor vision limits education, reduces employment opportunities and limits independence in daily life.

A key part of addressing these needs is providing opportunities to team up with the medical community. TPRF eye clinics collaborate with local volunteer optometrists and ophthalmologists who provide their services. Many doctors, after experiencing the impact of the clinics first-hand, provided encouraging feedback. The growing support and awareness in the medical community is a positive sign for future eye clinics.

Surajpur and New Delhi Eye Clinics

In January and February 2026, mobile eye clinics were organized in multiple regions, including ECO Center in Surajpur, Chhattisgarh (January 31–February 1, 2026) and Raj Vidya Kender in Chhatarpur, New Delhi (February 14–15, 2026).

At these clinics, patients received comprehensive eye examinations, free prescription glasses, essential medications and diagnosis of serious conditions such as cataracts. For many, this was the first time they had ever been examined by a trained eye specialist. Similar clinics across other regions are also part of this ongoing outreach, bringing care to thousands more in need.

The impact extends deeply. A pair of glasses can help a child read in school. A diagnosis can lead to sight-restoring surgery. Clear vision allows people to work, care for their families and move safely through daily life.

The two-day eye medical clinic in New Delhi, held in Shahurpur, Chhatarpur, demonstrated the reach and effectiveness of these efforts.

During the clinic, more than 1,100 people from nearby areas had their eyes examined. A team of experienced doctors screened for cataracts, weak eyesight, eye irritation and related conditions.

In addition, 813 spectacles were distributed, 839 patients received eye-drop medications and 44 cataract patients were identified and referred for further care. Free spectacles and necessary medicines were provided to those in need. Patients requiring additional attention received consultation and guidance for continued treatment.

Making Eye Care Accessible to All

Modern medicine can prevent or treat most vision problems.

In fact, the World Health Organization states that up to 80 percent of eye conditions are curable with timely and proper care.

For many people, however, the barrier is not medical knowledge but affordability and access. Those living in poverty often cannot afford to visit a doctor to receive an official diagnosis. Without that diagnosis, they are unable to access hospital care or qualify for necessary procedures such as cataract surgery.

By providing these essential diagnoses free of charge, the clinics open the door to further treatment. In this way, a temporary clinic becomes a vital gateway to long-term healing.

The Prem Rawat Foundation (TPRF) recently formalized its collaboration with the Provincial University of Ezeiza in Buenos Aires, Argentina at a Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony. The agreement supports the ongoing implementation of TPRF’s Peace Education Program to help university students reflect on their humanity and their inner resources such as choice, hope and dignity.

The Provincial University of Ezeiza (UPE) is a public, tuition-free university located just 30 kilometers outside of Buenos Aires. UPE prepares its 10,000 students through academic and professional disciplines ranging from software development to tourism and occupational health and safety. In their statement celebrating the signing of the agreement, UPE said the memorandum’s aim was to strengthen joint efforts to promote peace education and wellbeing for its university community.

The ceremony, held on March 31, 2026, was attended by Peace Education Program Director Willow Baker, who described the meeting as a lively, inspiring conversation around the benefits of the Peace Education Program in higher education and the efforts that both the university and the foundation are making to enhance students’ experience. UPE Rector Daniel Galli, Vice Rector Professor Macarena Forneris, and Ayelen Rocha, Secretaria de Extension Universitaria, acknowledged students’ needs for such a program and expressed their gratitude to the foundation and its volunteer facilitators. Pablo Ortiz, a Buenos Aires restaurant manager and one of the facilitators, explained that the course is also open to the community and attracts people from other provinces, creating a diverse audience. He told Willow Baker, “My week is spent eagerly awaiting the next class.”

UPE Rector Daniel Galli commented on the positive impact he has witnessed the Peace Education Program having on UPE’s student body so far, saying the program helped students “by fostering the development of solidarity, peace and harmonious coexistence, enabling them to address personal and professional challenges with greater clarity and awareness in the environments in which they will serve as professionals.”

Since 2022, the Peace Education Program has been offered virtually twice a year at UPE, with options for academic credit. To date, more than 580 students have attended the workshops and learned, many for the first time, about the possibility of personal peace. The memorandum signed by TPRF and UPE solidifies this partnership by bolstering Peace Education Program implementation through cooperative training for university staff to facilitate the program, providing workshop materials at no cost and supporting the rollout of workshops.

Since 2024, the Malaysian government’s National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK) has worked with The Prem Rawat Foundation (TPRF) to support individuals recovering from substance use. Through this collaboration, TPRF’s Peace Education Program has been implemented across Malaysia’s government-run substance centers, with clients expressing improved self-awareness, emotional clarity, hope and motivation.

“I wish I had heard about the message earlier – I would not have made wrong choices in life,” said one of the program participants.

Substance addiction remains one of Malaysia’s significant challenges, with the AADK working as Malaysia’s lead agency to combat drug and substance use in Malaysia, under the statute of the Ministry of Home Affairs. The agency focuses mainly on preventative drug education, enforcement and security programming and treatment and rehabilitation programming. The Malaysian government has established various rehabilitation centers and therapeutic programs, including six centers where TPRF has thus far been able to conduct its Peace Education Program in Tamil.

Program implementation was driven by Kalki Karl, a registered psychologist with 30 years of professional experience in drug prevention education. This background inspired him to introduce the Peace Education Program to clients going through treatment and rehabilitation in Malaysia’s government run centers. Today, 20 trained volunteer facilitators run the Peace Education Program across six centers throughout Malaysia, with a seventh center expected to start the Peace Education Program this April, 2026.

Participants across districts where the program has been implemented have shared that the workshops helped them deepen their understanding of themselves, particularly their emotions and thoughts, and sense of personal responsibility.

“In 2025, I had planted seeds of hate, anger, greed, self-doubt, but in 2026, I want to plant seeds of love, clarity, peace, happiness, positive, no drugs, grow, listen,” said one of the participants. Other participants from the Johor state expressed new hope in life and felt new possibilities for personal growth and change.

TPRF’s Peace Education Program consists of a series of ten innovative, video-based workshops that aim to support people in discovering their inner strengths and personal peace. The program is available for free in more than 45 languages, and has been presented in more than 80 countries, including Malaysia since 2015. Providing space for individual reflection, each workshop is structured and facilitated, focusing on one of the following ten themes: Peace, Appreciation, Inner Strength, Self-awareness, Clarity, Understanding, Dignity, Choice, Hope and Contentment.

TPRF was first invited to introduce the Peace Education Program in 2024 at AADK’s Headquarters in Selangor, a state in the central west coast of Malaysia. The event was attended by directors from the treatment and rehabilitation division, and soon after TPRF was offered the opportunity to conduct the program across three districts in Selangor. By 2025, the program was expanded to two additional states in Malaysia, Johor Baru and Perak, and by 2026, it had further extended to an additional two districts. As of 2026, 250 clients in Malaysia’s national rehabilitation centers had gone through the Peace Education Program.

Many of the clients who participated in the Peace Education Program across Malaysia’s nationally-run centers reported that sessions helped them develop emotional awareness, personal responsibility and motivation to make positive changes in their lives. Many also shared that the Peace Education Program offered their first exposure to self-reflective and personal peace related content, and they deeply valued the insights they gained.

AADK officers have also shared enthusiasm for continuing the Peace Education Program’s implementation across the country’s rehabilitation centers, requesting the workshops due to positive response from clients.

AADK’s implementation of the Peace Education Program shows how peace-centered approaches can complement national rehabilitation strategies. Malaysia’s case offers an adaptable model for other countries.

In Australia’s Northern Territory, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples experience disproportionately high rates of substance use, which many researchers have linked to trauma and stress responses in the context of dispossession, systemic marginalization and history of colonization. These conditions have also led to the Aboriginal community’s overrepresentation in the criminal justice system, resulting in their “mass incarceration.”

Within this context, culturally-resonant and community-led rehabilitation services are crucial to provide secure and appropriate support to the Aboriginal community.

Located in Darwin, Australia, the Foundation Of Rehabilitation With Aboriginal Alcohol Related Difficulties (FORWAARD) is a nonprofit Aboriginal-controlled organization supporting people, centrally from the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, in their journeys recovering from substance use. The nonprofit, founded in 1967, provides different culturally-grounded programs that emphasize connection to culture, family and community as central to recovery.

The organization operates as a residential rehabilitation program accommodating up to 23 residents with backgrounds of substance use during their recovery journeys. Many clients are referred to FORWAARD through the criminal justice system as part of parole or other court-ordered conditions, while others may self-refer. Residents often come in with complex needs, including long histories of substance use, incarceration and trauma. The residential setting provides a structured and supportive environment focused on holistic healing and personal development.

Supporting Healing with the Peace Education Program

Since 2019, and more consistently from 2022 onward, FORWAARD has incorporated the Peace Education Program as part of its holistic model of care. Developed by The Prem Rawat Foundation (TPRF), the Peace Education Program is a personal development workshop series centered on ten main themes: Peace, Appreciation, Inner Strength, Self-Awareness, Clarity, Understanding, Dignity, Choice, Hope and Contentment. The program has been widely implemented in rehabilitation and substance use contexts globally.

At FORWAARD, the Peace Education Program has been conducted through weekly facilitated workshops. Some customizations have been made to the program, such as translating the session themes into Kriol, a language spoken widely in Northern Australia. The Peace Education Program has served as a reflective space for residents to explore their own inner resources such as dignity, self-awareness and choice. The program complements FORWAARD’s clinical, cultural and case-management support by strengthening internal wellbeing and emotional resilience as part of the recovery journey.

Surveys conducted at the end of each session have shown positive responses from FORWAARD residents. One participant who joined FORWAARD after being released from prison, reflected, “I haven’t had a lot of peace in my life.” But they saw the program as an opportunity for people to “look at themselves and find that clarity, that love and self-awareness and forgiveness within themselves.”

Another participant who has a history of incarceration and substance use, shared how the program supported their personal growth.

“Having the choice of my own life is such an inspiration; I find pride in my own work; I get great feeling in everything I do now, knowing I can be clear minded and healthier. I actually owe it all to this program and the people I worked with. I’ve learned to be kinder with myself, be kinder with others… and just how to be happy with myself for once,” they said.

Other Peace Education Program participants from FORWAARD similarly appreciated the opportunity to reflect and connect with themselves.

The Peace Education Program’s ongoing implementation at FORWAARD has been made possible by a TPRF microgrant, which has supported the continued facilitation of the workshops alongside FORWAARD’s existing rehabilitation services.

“The Peace Education Program aligned strongly with FORWAARD’s holistic model of care. Working with the Peace Education Program facilitators has been collaborative and responsive, with a clear long-term commitment to the program. Their flexibility, clear communication, and respect for culturally sensitive delivery supported timely responses to the complex needs of participants and strengthened the program’s impact,” explained Shannon Bartlett, the Continual Care Coordinator and Case Manager at FORWAARD.

FORWAARD is led by Aboriginal people with a deep understanding of the lived experiences and cultural values held by their community. This leadership creates an environment where participants feel safer, respected and genuinely understood. Delivered within this culturally strong foundation, the Peace Education Program supports healing that is both personally meaningful and culturally connected.

The Food for People kitchen, inspired by the humanitarian vision of Prem Rawat and operated in partnership with the local Prem Ubuntu Foundation, recently drew attention from Good Things Guy, which featured the project and some of the key people behind it. The article highlights how the kitchen is already transforming lives while showing how much more it could do with additional South African funding.

Hudson’s midday radio program is widely known for bringing attention to community initiatives and the people making a difference in Cape Town.

During her “On the Couch” interview Hudson spoke with members of the team working behind the project. The discussion offered listeners a glimpse into the daily effort required to prepare and deliver thousands of meals to children across the Cape Flats.

During the radio conversation, project director Brendan McGurk explained that the systems for expansion are already in place.

The kitchen already operates on a large scale due to the support of The Prem Rawat Foundation. With additional ingredients and South African partnerships, it could double the number of meals reaching children across the Cape Flats.

For many children in these communities, a reliable daily meal can make a profound difference. Nutritious food helps children concentrate in school, maintain their health and feel supported by their community.

The Food for People program reflects Prem Rawat’s belief that meeting basic human needs creates a foundation for dignity and opportunity. When children receive nourishing food, it supports not only their physical wellbeing but also their ability to learn and thrive.

Readers who want to learn more about the project can explore earlier coverage on the website, including the article and video about the Food for People kitchen in Cape Flats:

The Food for People program also serves children in India, Nepal and Ghana — overall more than 8.5 million nutritious meals have been provided in disadvantaged communities.

An Opportunity for the Community

The kitchen already operates every day with a dedicated team of staff and volunteers. The systems for preparing and distributing meals are working.
What makes this moment exciting is the opportunity for more people in Cape Town to be part of the effort. Local businesses, food suppliers, and community supporters can help unlock the kitchen’s full potential. This in turn can unlock the potential for hope and a brighter future for so many children.

Mr. Barends, towards the end of his CapeTalk interview, left listeners with a profound observation: Feeding children nutritious meals isn’t just about food – it lets them know that they matter.

Thanks to the generous support of donors from across the globe, The Prem Rawat Foundation (TPRF) was able to provide $10,000 in vital humanitarian aid to help people recover from a devastating recent tropical cyclone in Madagascar.

On Feb. 10, 2026, the island nation in the western Indian Ocean was hit by Tropical Cyclone Gezani bringing devastating winds of over 140 mph. The important port city of Toamasina suffered severe damage, leaving thousands of people displaced and struggling to access basic essentials like food, shelter and clean water.

TPRF aid helped people cope with the emergency through a partnership with World Central Kitchen (WCK), a charitable organization that was well positioned in Madagascar to respond quickly. The TPRF grant to WCK helped provide hot, nutritious and culturally appropriate meals to people facing sudden hardship. For many families, this support meant reliable meals and a greater sense of stability during a time of uncertainty.

“This support from The Prem Rawat Foundation means the world to us and it will help us serve and support the people of Madagascar,” says Irene Johnson, WCK Manager, Corporate & Foundation Relations.

Photos are courtesy of World Central Kitchen

TPRF has many supporters and volunteers in the country who were impacted by the disaster.

“The TPRF aid is possible because of the support and compassion of donors from around the world,” says TPRF Board Chair Linda Pascotto. “Empathy, kindness and understanding are the foundation of what moves us to help those in need and offer a ray of hope. One cannot measure generosity — it belongs to the heart!”

Addressing Human Needs Beyond the Cyclone

Since Prem Rawat founded TPRF in 2001, it has awarded over 200 grants totaling more than $6.8 million to partner NGOs in 47 countries to help victims of natural disasters, disease, war and other tragedies.

The humanitarian grants are just one of the ways that Prem Rawat’s foundation turns compassion into practical support across the globe.

TPRF’s Food for People program has provided over 8.5 million nutritious meals, clean water and educational opportunities to disadvantaged children and elderly adults in India, Nepal, Ghana and South Africa.

TPRF also offers the Peace Education Program, an innovative series of video-based workshops that has helped over 650,000 people in 80 countries discover their own inner strength, hope and peace.

Registered as a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization, TPRF consistently earns the highest rankings from independent evaluators such as Candid (GuideStar) and Charity Navigator for financial responsibility, transparency and accountability.

Johns Hopkins University and Johns Hopkins Medicine recently recognized the impact of the Peace Education Program and The Prem Rawat Foundation (TPRF) with a 2025 Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. Award for Community Service. The award acknowledges the program’s growing presence in Baltimore and the Washington, D.C., region and its alignment with Dr. King’s values of service, dignity and empowerment.

The Peace Education Program, developed by The Prem Rawat Foundation (TPRF), is a series of video-based workshops designed to support personal reflection, wellbeing and inner peace. Offered at no cost, the program creates inclusive spaces where participants can explore their inner resources, such as clarity, appreciation and strength, regardless of background or circumstances.

Since 2022, the program has been actively facilitated throughout Baltimore and neighboring communities, reaching a range of underserved populations. Local peace education courses have been offered to recently incarcerated women, low-income senior citizens and community members facing health and social challenges. In addition, the program has been offered within Johns Hopkins Medicine, serving staff across several departments as well as cancer survivors and their families, demonstrating the program’s relevance in both community and healthcare settings.

The MLK Jr. Award for Community Service recognizes members of the Johns Hopkins community whose work exemplify Dr. King’s legacy through sustained volunteerism and service. This year’s recognition reflects not only individual dedication but also the broader impact of TPRF’s Peace Education Program in fostering resilience, self-awareness and connection across Baltimore.

Award recipients were recognized during Johns Hopkins’ annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration ceremony. In conjunction with the award, Johns Hopkins Medicine presented a $5,000 contribution to TPRF, which has been earmarked for TPRF’s microgrant fund to support expansion of the program in underserved communities.

This recognition shows the meaningful role that peace education plays in strengthening communities and affirms the ongoing partnership between local volunteers, Johns Hopkins Medicine and TPRF in advancing peace, wellbeing and service in Baltimore.

Cape Flats, a disadvantaged area on the outskirts of Cape Town, faces persistent food insecurity, affecting schoolchildren, families and elderly residents. The demand for reliable daily meals continues to rise.

The renovated kitchen strengthens TPRF’s ability to respond. Increased production capacity means more meals can reach schools and community distribution points. More children now receive dependable nourishment that supports learning and attendance.

This expansion is not simply operational. It represents a deeper commitment to meeting urgent needs with dignity and consistency.

Responding to Significant and Growing Demand

The need in Cape Flats remains substantial. Many families rely on the program as a dependable source of daily nutrition.

Increased efficiency helps the program stretch resources further and serve additional schools and community sites.

Surpassing one million meals within the first year underscores both the scale of demand and the program’s effectiveness. The expansion positions the kitchen to meet even more of that need in the years ahead.

A Proven Global Model

Food for People is an initiative inspired by Prem Rawat’s vision to alleviate poverty and address basic human needs. Launched in 2006, Food for People now operates in India, Nepal, Ghana, and South Africa. To date, more than 8.5 million nutritious meals have been served worldwide.

The Cape Flats renovation reflects TPRF’s proven model: partner with local NGOs, build sustainable infrastructure and deliver measurable impact. Donor support enables this continued expansion, ensuring that more children and families receive sustaining, nutritious meals every day.

Thank you to all of the TPRF donors who make Food for People possible!
