The Power of Intention = Allowing

Dyer says the proper way to apply the law of attraction in our lives is to apply the law of allowing.  Instead of demanding things, we must allow (Creator/God/Spirit/Universe) to provide for us. The power of intention involves living intentionally by certain virtues. His work on the power of intention is based on the teachings of the Tao Te Ching, written by Lao Tzu. In the video below, you can get a fuller view of his amazing teachings on this, and how you can apply it in your life to achieve a fulfilling, successful life full of people and things you love.

Think and Grow Rich is a 1937 motivational book written by Napoleon Hill and inspired by a suggestion from famed  businessman Andrew Carnegie. While the title implies that this book deals with how to get rich, the author explains that the philosophy taught in the book is actually about success — whatever your definitionof success maybe. He puts forth the principles ofthe law of attraciton — you can be, do or have naything you want — so long as you master yourmind and the principles of success. The text of Think and Grow Rich is based uponHill’s earlier work The Law of Success, which is the result of more than twenty years of research based on Hill’s close association with a large number of individuals who achieved great wealth during their lifetimes.

At the request of steel baron Andrew Carnegie, Hill studied the characteristics of these successful individuals and produced 17  developed 16 “keys” of success which lead to the achievement of great success in life. The two most popular and well-used keys are the MasterMind process and “know very clearly where you want to go”.

What do you do when nothing is working?

As we human being commonly do, we begin to question and berate ourselves for seeking the goal in the first place. If we had known it would be this hard, would we have pursued it, we wonder? On this blog, I will be sharing with you videos about some of the people who, consciously or unconsciously, followed or follow the law of attraction and whose lives reflect it a mindset of attracting success. Some of these people are names youmay recognize, and some are not, But set aside time tofill your mind with these things (and forget about reality shows and talent shows!).

This first video is about Andrew Carnegie, who grew up in desperate poverty, the emotional shame and despair of being poor, in a land and culture of inherited wealth and class divisions and yet through the power of a mind determined to be wealthy, became the richest man on Earth.

Andrew Carnegie’s life seemed touched by magic. He embodied the American dream: the immigrant who went from rags to riches, the self-made man who became a captain of industry, the king of steel. “Carnegie was more than most people,” says Owen Dudley Edwards, historian at the University of Edinburgh. “Not only more wealthy, not only more optimistic, Carnegie is still, right throughout his life, the little boy in the fairy story, for whom everything has to be all right.”

Fond of saying “The man who dies rich, dies disgraced,” Carnegie amassed a fortune, then gave it away. Millions of dollars went to support education, a pension plan for teachers, and the cause of world peace. Most famous as a benefactor of libraries, he funded nearly 3,000 around the world. He preached the obligation of the wealthy to return their money to the societies where they made it — then added, says Carnegie’s biographer, Joseph Frazier Wall, “a very revealing sentence. He wrote, ‘and besides, it provides a refuge from self-questioning.’”

The Richest Man in the World: Andrew Carnegie, produced by Austin Hoyt and narrated by David Ogden Stiers, follows Carnegie’s life from his impoverished origins in Dunfermline, Scotland, through his business career where he was on the cutting edge of the industrial revolution in telegraphy, railroads, and finally, steel. The Richest Man in the World traces the roots of Carnegie’s philanthrophy to his idealistic, egalitarian father, a skilled weaver displaced by the Industrial Revolution. But Carnegie’s mother, Margaret, was a more dominant force in his life. Determined to overcome the shame of poverty and “get to the top,” the frugal Margaret often advised young Andrew, “Look after the pennies, and the pounds will look after themselves.” He lived with her until she died, and only then married, at age 51.

Carnegie’s daughter, Margaret Carnegie Miller, publicly remembered her father as “a kindly, friendly, man. He always wanted to be remembered as one who loved his fellow men.” In private, her thoughts were harsher. “Tell his life like it was,” she urged his biographer. “I’m sick of the Santa Claus stuff.”

“Although Carnegie saw himself as a friend of the working man,” says Hoyt, “the lives of his workers were not fairy tales where everything turns out all right.” According to business historian Harold Livesay, “By the standards of his time, Carnegie does not stand out as a particularly ruthless businessman. But certainly by the standards of ethics and conduct to which we would like to hold businessmen today, he indeed operated extremely ruthlessly.”

His conflicts with labor are best remembered in the 1892 showdown between Carnegie Steel and the unions at Homestead, Pennsylvania, a workers’ town where the steel unions reigned supreme. Carnegie, on vacation in Scotland, had left his partner, Henry Clay Frick, to settle the dispute, wiring him that he approved “anything you do.” But later Carnegie held Frick solely responsible for the violence at the mill that left seven workers and three Pinkerton guards dead. In his autobiography, Carnegie would remember Homestead as one of only two incidents in his career that he regretted. The other was when he turned his back on Thomas A. Scott, the mentor who had guided him to his first fortune while working for the Pennsylvania Railroad. Both events clearly haunted him, but in neither was he able to accept responsibility for what happened.

The Richest Man is a story of a business genius who created a steel empire that made America the most prosperous economy in the world. Everything in his story looms large: The implications of his low-cost steel were enormous for the American economy. The backstabbing, chicanery, and generosity are on the grandest scale. Carnegie’s struggle with the unions would determine the role of labor in industrial America. Frick’s lawsuit against him was the biggest at that point in American history.

In 1900, when he sold Carnegie Steel to J.P. Morgan for $480 million, the financier told him, “Congratulations, Mr. Carnegie, you are the richest man in the world.” Carnegie proved himself to be a philanthropist of unusual fervor, as over the next decade he gave away $350 million with the same creativity and energy that led to its accumulation.

What do you really want in life?

You must ask with clarity and purpose. Why? Because life pays whatever price you ask of it. How much are you asking of life? Are you asking too small? Are you not expecting to receive much? Are you afraid to ask at all? When you ask, are you asking with clarity or are you muddled in your thinking and your asking because you do not expect to receive what you want?

You must be certain, absolutely certain in your mind about what you are seeking. Do it with as much detail as you can muster. Use your imagination to envision it and also employ all our senses: sight, smell, touch, hearing, and taste

Then, write it on paper and read it aloud everyday. Make your desire a command to yourself. The more you read it, and the more you command yourself to have this desire, the more clearly it will sink into your subconsciousness and then become your internal state. Once it is your internal state. it is compelled to become your external state. That is, the more you believe it will manifest, the more it becomes your daily purpose and the sooner it becomes manifest in your circumstances.

Today, I sit across the pond in my Copenhagen home and gaze proudly across the ocean.

There are many reasons, which I will not cite today; however I will say write that one major reason is that it is part of our national character to fight hard and never give up. To come back from (temporary) defeat and stand proudly. This is how we roll: we come back!

On May 10, 2013, nearly 12 years after Osama bin Laden and Al-Quaeda invaded our shores and used two of our airlines to blow up a symbolic building, a new spire was erected on top of the new World Trade Center One building, to show the world WE ARE THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

The erection of that spire, making the WTC One the tallest building in the western hemisphere,  is a symbol to the world that you may attack us, you may attack our people, but we will come back and we will ultimately win. We are a people of strength and diversity (and diversity is our strength). Despite our weaknesses and the domestic problems we may have, we are still a nation that comes together in trouble, still a nation that helps other and still a nation that is a global leader the world looks to for support, assistance, guidance and protection.

On the occasions when we get knocked down, we say, just as The Terminator said (Arnold Schwarzenegger is another great American Dream story!) “I’ll be back” – and we make good on that promise.

Bouncing back from disaster, struggle or misfortune, can be laborious and difficult. It can feel discouraging and it can seem as though there are so many things to take care of that you cannot possibly handle everything, get on your feet and thrive. But this is only true if you make it true. The law of attraction, a natural law, makes it so. Manifesting is pretty simple. You manifest (or receive) what you focus on.

What you can do is establish or return to your your core values and strengths and return to your feet. You can thrive and overcome the negative non-support of other people and external situations.

No one else matters — particularly and specifically the naysayers who have only fearful words, criticism, secret envy and negative non-support to offer. When you are my coaching client, you are in it to win and I am your #1 fan and cheerleader. I am interested in YOU and supportive of what YOU are doing with your life. Life has so much to offer and you have so much to offer life!

Those who know me very well kow that I often assess my life, where I am, and where I am going. I have been doing alot in the last week, and clearing out clutter, both figuratively and literally. As I have done so, I have come across some items that made me reflect on where I was at various points in my life in the past. In particular, they made me think about how I placed high priority on some people and things which no longer have any influence or relevance to my life. Even more, they did not have any relevance then and no more influence than I chose to give them. At the time, I let other people influence my feelings and thoughts by their words and actions. I let the external change the internal. I let them tell me, in effect, that I was less than I am. Thankfully, I have done that less and less in my life as the years have passed. I have been increasingly confident in my person and firm about letting others know it.  Shaking my head, I threw away those items, just as I have thrown away quite a few things I accumulated, so I can make room for newness in my life.

Then this week I came across a photo online that drove home the point to me about staying in my awesomeness. We all must stay firm in our awesomeness and if we are all doing that, we can make such a positive change in this world. Being awesome doesn’t involve being egotistic and arrogant. Iist  not about being harsh or dominating. It is about being confident of your gift, talents, skills, values, and general personhood.

Today, take up the challenge to be awesome!

So, you have found me by word of mouth or an advertisement and you want to hire me as your coach or consultant? There are a few things you should know, first, so here is a little about me:

Life, for me, is about having PASSION and SPIRIT. It is what gets you up in the morning, gets you through the worst of times and gives you the power to soar in the great moments of life. I live each day with an expectation that something good, if not awesome, will occur. The basis of life is LOVE, in my perspective. I focus on gratitude for what I have and what is coming to me each day, and fall in love with life over and over. Life is much too short to stay focused on the negative people and situations that can impede your progress. I adore and love my family members, a group of absolutely AMAZING people. I also love my friends and the people in my network. I am inspired by their lives.

I am the founder of Humanity Institute, and as an internationally known coach, course leader and author, I strive for the best each day and to empower it in others. That is why you will find me with a smile on my face.

I was educated in in communication, theology anf French as well as and certified in coaching in the USA, coupled with an education in psychology and cultural encounters in Denmark. For nearly two decades, I have coached a large number of people in the area of personal and professional excellence.

For the last 10 years I have focused on two areas with an overall goals of building bridges between people of different cultures through lifespan consulting and intercultural training. The first is cultural consulting, where the goal is to improve the lives and integration of expatriates, particularly in Denmark. The second focus is the uniquely created niche of lifespan consulting, with the goal of helping people in four (4) target age groups realize surmount challenges and manifest their full potential.

I blog about culture, the expatriate lifestyle, life in Denmark and American perspectives.

People who are enthusiastic about life, take a positive perspective or strive to do so, are people whose company I enjoy. I like to talk solutions, not problems. I am a woman of deep faith and spirit. I see very directly into people and their lives, which is useful for coaching. I am also very direct but compassionate (read: blunt, but not harsh), so when you coach with me or I consult for you, be prepared to get to the core of things and sometimes rather quickly. I enjoy writing and am working on my second novella; I play guitar and am learning piano, paint, sculpt, enjoy Scottish country dancing and salsa dancing; I work on my golf swing and and am a weekend gourmet cook who also enjoys wine-tasting. I crave the ocean/large bodies of water, holding babies and driving fast cars. I love my family, my friends and acquaintances and people in general. I know my purpose is to build bridges across cultures and between people.

Born and raised in the USA; I lived in various countries around the globe before moving to Denmark in 2006.

The relaxed attitude of San Diego, California (“America’s Finest City”) empowers me with fresh ideas and an expansive perspective, while the cool and provincial “coziness” of Copenhagen, Denmark fills me with childhood memories and grounds me. I adore that I can live my life between these two places, as well as travel around the world. I have lived in and visited North America, Europe, South America, Central America, the Middle East, and Africa. People are fascinating, interesting, and wonderfully different everywhere you go.

I work hard and I expect you, as my client, to work hard. I expect you to come ready to hear the truth, to be open to change, to do the work necessary to change and when necessary, to be a leader. I have a lot of patience with children but not with lazy people and mean-spirited folks. Hire me and I will throw all my energy behind you to empower you or your firm. I will give you the gas and steer you in the right direction but you’ve got to turn the key and be willing to take the wheel and keep moving to success. Whether it is for your company or for you as a private person, I am there to work for mutual benefit.

Finally, but most importantly, I believe firmly that you can BE, DO and HAVE anything you want and it is with this attitude that I work with my clients on success in business and their personal lives.

Sometimes you may encounter negative people who work very hard to spread their negativity to you and to adversely affect your life. Ask yourself what you have done to attract that and then do what it takes to repel it, starting with a positive change in your emotions and attitude. Youcna always immediately change your circumstnces by changing your internal attitude.  You can repel negative people and negative situations and achieve anything you desire, if you desire it strongly enough. This is jsut some of what you ill get from me in coaching and it is foundational to my approach in life with people, projects and situations.

Among my personal intentions is to spend the remainder of my life being loved, doing what I love, (writing books, helping people to met each other across differences, empowering people), and having time to spend loving  Bichon Frise puppies that I am confident I will one day receive.
