Now, on to my project! YAY!

I wanted to create a card filled with colour and vibrancy, so I reached for my Heffy Doodle Banana Split cardstock and used the new Pinstripe stencil to add some Mustard Seed Distress Ink to the background to create a tone on tone look. I ADORE this striped look. It really makes me think of scrapbook paper, I was always a ‘B’ side girl with the subtle designs!

Next I took some white cardstock and cut out the star shape using my Stitched Stars dies. I love that this set has a large star die, perfect for creating star shaped cards! I then reached for my Sprinkled With Fun stencil and used a small blending tool to ink some candy style sprinkles on my card. I thought this actually started to look like a cookie, so I layered another kraft coloured star underneath, slightly offset so I could go with this theme!

For the sentiment, I used some pink craft foam, but first I stuck the foam to some cardstock before diecutting with the Celebrate Heffy Cuts die. I find that this helps prevent the foam from stretching. For the ‘YOU’ sentiment I used the new Rascal Alphabetters stamps and dies. OH, I LOVE that these have coordinating dies! You should really check them out! So fun and whimsical!

I am so excited that two of my most favourite things are doing a collaboration, and it is finally time to share the exciting news! Lawn Fawn and Chibitronics have paired up to create a fun card kit and there is the most darling little robot stamp that is sure to light up your life!!

Join me and the team over on the Chibitronics blog this week as we showcase lots of projects made using Lawn Fawn products and some using the exclusive Robot stamp and die included in the kit.

For those of you who feel a little daunted by using LEDs on your cards, this kit is perfect, because you get some circuit templates included with the kit. Perfect!

I have two cards to share with you today! Let’s jump right in! This first card has been made using the template in the kit, and it features the ‘Eggstra Amazing Easter’ stamps and dies. Aren’t these bunnies so cute!?

I kept my colour pallet to fresh, almost pastel colours – ideal for Springtime! I used some blending brushes to add the soft ink feel to the grass and sky, and I used a foam blending tool to add the lavender around the edge.

I grabbed the ‘Push Here’ stamp set and also the ‘Fancy Scalloped Rectangle Stackables’ to help me create this card. I love the lacey feel created by the scalloped borders all around.  When you press down on the button, the two pink eggs light up! Such fun!

I actually made this card during my weekly ‘Come Craft With Me’ LIVE stream over on YouTube. Every Friday at 9pm UK time, I turn on the camera and get crafty! Let’s take a look at my second card, this time I made it using the Lawn Fawn ‘Love Letters’ set. I ADORE this set! So cute!

For this one, I wanted to create a light-up mechanism that operated with a pull tab, and I decided to make the letter the pull tab! I used the arrow from the ‘Push Here’ stamp set to show that the letter can be pulled upwards!

Et voila! A little secret message is revealed and what’s more, the phone screen illuminates! So fun!

As for the card, I used the large and small rectangle dies and did some partial die cutting to create the two panels on the top and bottom. I added soft colour with distress oxides and a blending brush and then added hearts using a SSS stencil and a foam blending tool.

Create a Gardening themed Light Up Shaker Card with Chibitronics and Waffle Flower

Hello crafty friends, its time for another collaboration post with Chibitronics. I LOVE these light up LEDs – they are especially fun at this time of the year when fairy lights brighten every street corner! This collaboration is with Waffle Flower, and I actually decided to go with a Summery or Springtime feel with this sweet Grow Happiness stamp set. I guess I am fed up with all the rain we have been having recently! Ha!

I actually made this card on my LIVE crafty stream. Every Friday (or at least as many Fridays as life can allow ) I turn on my video camera and get crafty – you can watch the stream live on YouTube and I love it when everyone comments, gives suggestions and challenges me. If you are interested in joining the fun, hop over to my channel and subscribe. Be sure to ring the bell to turn on notifications.

You can, of course, watch the video on playback if you miss the live – it’s a great background noise when you are ironing, crafting or cosying up on the couch with a glass of wine. Scroll down to the bottom to watch me making this card. You will get to see all the products I have used, and I am sure you will have a few giggles too!

For this card, I did a little ink blending – first i masked off an area for the soil using my Heffy Low Tack Memo Tape – I love this stuff! Then i added some colour to create the pinky purple background. Colour choices were requested by the viewers! I coloured my images with alcohol markers, and then used an old tool called the Silent Setter to create little holes in the card front where my water droplets would be.

I decided to create a row of flowers, and I made one of these into my push button for the circuit. I used the Heffy Doodle Interactively Yours Stamp set to create the PRESS HERE button.
As for the circuit itself -it is not a complex one- just two lines of copper tape. One line connecting the negative ends of the lights to the negative side of the battery, and the other line connecting the positive ends of the lights to the positive side of the battery. It’s really that simple. I added two lights to make my card a bit brighter. Here is a screenshot of the circuit before I adhered the top panel on top! Don’t I look pretty chuffed with myself in the corner there! LOL

The shaker element was such an afterthought! This is often the way with me, especially during the LIVE streams (where I make it up as I go along!).   I added a little yellow ink blending to the inside of the circle (cut with Heffy Doodle Stitched Circle Dies) and I did manage to add a sweet sentiment at the top using a stamp from the Waffle Flower Grow Happiness set. I used some Catherine Pooler Party Dress ink to colour it the most beautiful colour of pink! Yum!

Today I have the honour of being part of Justine Hovey’s ‘Save The Crafty YouTuber’ video hop. All week there are FIVE whole days of video hops, where you can kickstart your creativity as you watch a selection of different crafters from all over the globe, each with different styles and crafting levels. A lot of work goes into creating video content, and YouTube regulations have changed which makes it harder to get noticed and harder to reach monetization goals. My video is a longer video tutorial which focuses on creating a twinkly light up Christmas tree using Chibitronics lights. I am using a selection of Heffy Doodle products to create this project, a full list is displayed at the bottom of this blog post.

For this card I used the Heffy Doodle Imperial Stitched Rectangle dies, Heffy Doodle Stitched Circle Dies and the Heffy Doodle Holiday Sentiment Duos stamps. I then embossed my card panel using the Heffy Doodle Stargazer background and a tan embossing mat. Can you see those stars on the backgroun – don’t they look awesome?

For the main focal area, I used the tree and penguins stamps from Heffy Doodle’s Wanna Build A Snowman set. Isn’t is adorable? I stamped the tree on the circle die cut, then inked around the outside with Distress oxides and inks in blue tones. I splattered it with water and then added some snowfall by flicking some copic opaque white ink on there. I also added a snow drift by using the Heffy Doodle Slopey Joes Border dies. I simply had to use some holographic embossing powder on there to make it sparkle!

My penguins and trees I coloured with copics, but I don’t show this on the video as i wanted to focus on the Chibitronics Circuit. I walk you through exactly how to make the circuit in the video, and don’t be daunted, its easier in real life. It is harder finding the words to explain it compared to actually making it! HA!

I built the circuit on the top of a card base, and the magic is this — when you slide your finger across the sentiment on the card, then the tree lights LIGHT UP! But as you slide, they twinkle on and off in different colours! IT’S SOOO COOL!!

I decided to use a red, blue and white light. Normally I like white lights, but hubby is ALL about the multi coloured fairy lights! So, why not have both?!

I cut it from craft foam, covered it in glossy accents, and then sprinkled it with some very fine glitter for a shimmery feel!

Hi everyone, another catch up post…

This week I had a surprise package THAT INCLUDED CRAFTY GOODIES! WOOHOO! Best. Surprise. Ever! My friend and DT Sista Jessica McAfee sent me a parcel will some goodies. Not only did she send me a gorgeous stamp set from The Stamp Market (my first one from this brand!) but also a set of Aqua Markers by Spectrum Noir. As i managed to get a bunch of copic second hand a few years ago, i have never used spectrum noir alcohol markers before, and i certainly hadn’t tried this aqua collection either. I knew i wanted to test them out on my ComeCraftWithMe LIVE stream.

I also treated myself to some new stamps recently, so i also used some of these in the other projects, but i couldn’t wait to get started with the aqua markers.

This Flora Bella set from The Stamp Market is lovely. Whimsical and bold, and they were a good size for creating a background. I stamped it all over some card and then used the aqua markers to color them in. I scribbled the aqua markers onto some plastic and used a water brush/ brush to pick up the colour mixed with a little water. It kinda acts like an ink or watercolour paint in that way. You can also mix the colours really easily. There were no greens in my set, but the yellow and blue can be mixed to get lots of variations on tone. This means one set goes a long long way.

I finished the card with a I MISS YOU sentiment and also the HEY Heffy Cut from Heffy Doodle.

I was so excited about this card. It features the Rub-a-dub-dub set from Lawn Fawn. I waited for ages to get this stamp. The photo makes it look a little neon – I promise it is not like that IRL) I used the stitched bubble background from Heffy Doodle to create a fun background and then created a floor using a border die from MFT stamps. I added a little ink along the edge of Heffy Memo tape to give my ‘bathroom’ some dimension. I’ve used the Heffy Doodle strips of ease dies to create the sentiment panel.

By this time in the evening, it was getting pretty late, but I really wanted to make another quick card with my new Chameleon stamp from Lawn Fawn. Lucky for me, I found this gorgeous rainbow chevron scrapbook paper in my stash which I knew would make a perfect background. A sentiment strip cut using the Heffy Doodle Strips of Ease, plus a quick sentiment (from MFT I think) and then I stamped the chameleon onto the same chevron paper and lined him up perfectly with the background- after all, he has activated his camouflage mode! LOL

In this ComeCraftWithMe LIVE stream, I had a very special guest! YAY! I love having ‘guests’ on CCWM – it’s like when your favourite shows do a Xmas special, or you see a familiar face cameo in an unusual place! So fun! Anywaaaaaay…. in this CCWM video I had the pleasure of Lizi from LoveFromLizi.com. If you are unfamiliar with Lizi, she has a fabulous cardmaking kit each month, and also has an array of mega packs and add on options which you can see over on her shop LoveFromLizi.com. She also has a brill YouTube where she shares wonderful ’10 Cards One Kit videos’ which are jam packed with inspiration.

So we tried something new. Lizi was streaming from her phone to her LoveFromLizi Facebook Group and I was streaming to YouTube. Because of the double set up, we had to use different mics so the audio may be a bit quieter than usual in this video.

Here’s my card!

I simply had to make a card with the You Are Sublime set from Lawn Fawn- and mix this with the new Heffy Doodle Oceans of Love set. They go SO well together! Lizi had the new Lawn Fawn reveal wheel die, so I managed to get one of those for this card! Yippeee!

I decided to use the Whatcha Saying die from Heffy Doodle to create the reveal aperture. I think it works a treat! The sentiments in this set are perfectly sized, so i was able to use these for different word options on my wheel. VOILA!

For an extra special effect, I used the Heffy Doodle Stitched Bubble Background die over the top of the reveal wheel panel, which means there are these cool bubbles on my card – perfect for this underwater scene.  A little distress ink to create my ombre background (with a seabed of course) and all i needed was some critters to finish my scene.

Lizi made some cards using a stamp set from her store and also using the LoveFromLizi mega kit which have some cute hot air balloons.

Hello crafty friends

So it appears that i have completely neglected to update my blog with my Come Craft With Me sessions over the last few weeks. For those of you who subscribe to my blog – please excuse the series of catch up posts that are about to hit your inbox! LOL

First up, this CCWM video where I was showcasing the June release from Heffy Doodle.

First up I have this sweet card featuring the manta ray from the Oceans of Love stamp set. I have created a fun background using the Stitched Bubble Background die, and then masked areas with some acetate as I blended some ink to create rainbow rays.

Of course, I reached for the stitched strips of ease to cut out the sweet sentiment and then created my own action wobbler with acetate so the manta can wibble wobble the day away.

A simple but beautiful card next featuring the Wingman stamps and dies. These cute birdies are sweet and cheeky and are perfect for everyone. I create a simple ink blended background and cut a semi circle channel to create a slider card.

I added a simple cloudy border to the bottom with the CAS greeting – Happy Birdday! Card number 3 is a bit more involved as I wanted to include a Chibitronics light to my card. I used the sweet birthday cake from the Party Palooza set, which has an optional candle that you can add to the cake.

I used a W&W stencil to create the teal striped background and then added my ‘Happy Cake Day To You’ sentiment to a narrower panel with I trimmed with coloured card die cut with some scalloped border dies. I think it looks so sweet. I used my Interactively Yours stamp set to create the little ‘push here’ heart button on the top.

This time, it’s time to get messy. I took the Big Bold Words sentiment set and inked this up in different colours to get a rainbow effect. The MISTI makes this incredibly easy peasy to do. I trimmed my sentiment using a speech bubble die from paper smooches, and then worked on my background using watercolour paints.

I used my gansai tambi watercolour paints and dribbled paint down a piece of card to get this beautiful drip effect. I love that it looks so painterly.

Well, well, well. Can you even believe it? A YEAR!!?

For many years my hubby told me to create my own range of stamps, and last year I finally decided it was time to appease him. I drew some designs and started planning a Kickstarter campaign. It was exactly 1 year ago today that I shared my big secret plans with the world! I cannot believe how time has flown by, and I still marvel at the wonderful support I receive from customers, friends, family and this magnificent industry! I would like to say a massive thank you to each and every one of you for the part you have played in the development of my dreams. …. Enough sappiness, because its time to celebrate!

Now, let’s take a look at my project!

Birthdays are cause for celebrations and BIG PARTIES, so i wanted my card to be exactly the same. I actually created the inside first, but before we go there, here is the outside. The background was created using the Heffy Doodle Stitched Bubble Background die and I cut the frame into it using the Lucky Clover Frames set. The bear is from the Unbearable Without You stamp set, balloons from the Party Palooza set, and I stamped a greeting from the new Everyday Sentiment Duos. I even used the NEW Heffy Memo tape to mask the stamp so i could get two colours. So tell me, do you think this lil bear looks pleasantly surprised?

Here’s why…

All his sweet friends have thrown him a beach birthday party! WOO! Of course i had to do it at the beach, because then i could include some of the new ocean critters from Oceans of Love and the turtle from the Shellabrate exclusive freebie ( you get it for free when you spend £35 in the Heffy Doodle store).

For the sky, i embossed the Swirly Cloud dies, and used distress inks and oxides for the sea and beachy mounds. Then it was stamp, colour and die cut  for all my cute critters. I have used Happy Snappy Crocs, Honey Bunny Boo, Yappy Happy Mail, Oceans of Love, Unbearable Without you, Party Palooza and wingman (and the Shellabrate exclusive). For the number 1 on the cake, i just drew this freehand.

I kinda wish i was at this party! Don’t you!
