.disclaimer: as i've mentioned before this blog won't always be peaches and cream

because honestly life just doesn't work that way.

.yesterday hit me like a slap in the face.

.a little over two years ago, while we were living in utah, i had the opportunity

to work for one of the largest newspapers in utah and it was awesome.

.in journalism generally the bad comes more readily than the good and as part of my duties
i had to edit the online stories to go up at the strike of midnight
and possibly even earlier if the story was breaking.

.i worked during a time when devastation was a high -
a climber was stuck in a mine,
mother nature took it's toll on haiti,
and specifically when susan powell went missing.

.naturally, i was very close to all of these stories, their timelines, and new developments.

.but especially the powell case.
.i was even in the newsroom when the story first broke.

.i watched and read interviews by the minute, the hour, and the day.
.everyone in the newsroom wanted a happy ending for her and her family.

.well yesterday the two year old story took a turn for the worse
and that's all i'm going to say about that.

.we are flabbergasted.
.we hoped for better.

.please keep this family in your prayers.
.they most certainly need them.

.i just signed up for my first marathon.

.on september 17, 2010 i finished a list of 25 things i wanted to do before i turned 25.

.in just over a month i'll be 24 and have only one more year to complete this list.

.so i thought i'd share what i've accomplished and what is still left.

.go to another country (besides brazil).

.read the scriptures from cover to cover.

.be inside at least 25 temples.

~~.be accepted into a master's program.~~

.run a marathon.

~~.start a business.~~

~~.develop a closer relationship with my family.~~

.attend the napp.

.take husband on a cruise or beach destination trip.

.go on a church history tour.

.go to brazil.

~~.get a mark ii.~~

.go to wrigley field.

.make husband a mission scrapbook.

~~.have 5,000 in savings just because.~~

~~.help husband with his pharmacy school apps and go to pharmacy school.~~

.make preparations for a baby.

.spend atleast 10 days with husband in nyc (collectively or separately).

.send a birthday card to everyone in our family for a year.

.call my best friends more.

.rid soda from my life for good.

.i haven't looked at this list in some time

and somehow i still managed to get six things marked off

and will mark off four more things from now until july.

.i also just realized there are a few things i better start doing now if i want

to finish them before i turn twenty-five.

.officially, i am a member of the lds church

also known as the church of jesus christ of latter day saints.

.by now everyone who is reading this, at least americans, should know the name

mitt romney.

.and yep, mitt romney is a mormon too.

.but that is not the reason i am voting for mitt romney.

.if i was voting for a candidate for such a trivial reason as if they were an lds member

i would have voted for jon huntsman because he spoke at my graduation

because that's just as trivial.

.so why am i voting for mitt romney?.

.i strongly believe that you vote for a candidate because you value what

you think they can do for this country.

.you vote for a candidate because the issues that you believe to be the most important,

are the issues that you believe that candidate could fix.

.for me, it's debt.

.debt is the most important issue.

.without a doubt i believe mitt romney to be the candidate that can

pull our country out of debt like no other can.

.i have had family and close friends witness the powerful and positive

effects he had on the 2002 olympics in salt lake city.

.if there were budgets and spending to be cut he did so in a way that

affected himself just as much as it affected the others employed by the olympics.

.i feel strongly that he is someone who will not ask us to do something

that he would not do himself.

.i know the future is not going to be easy

but i truly believe that mitt romney could turn things around for us

and could get us back on track

so that our future will be as bright as we

always thought it could be.

.i know that mitt romney could beat obama.

.i ask my south carolina friends (and all friends) to really

think long and hard about what issues are important to them

and to consider mitt for your vote

if you think he could be the right man for the job.

.these are just my opinions

.which is perfect, since i have to get up for work at 5:30.

.but had i not been so worried about how i was going to make it through the day.

.i would look over at his handsome face sleeping and remember what a wonderful

addition he has been to my life and my heart.

.we have had a great life together thus far and we are learning more and more

and i got back from a road trip visiting one of my best friends

we spent new year's eve with my family.

.we watched the utah bowl game,
