I did this composite back in February.

It is inspired by a friend that I have who lost both parents in a short time period. She is a rock and she is the epitome of perseverance. You would never know what she has been through. I don't get to see her that often but when I do I always feel strength.

I feel like I have grown loads since February, but I am still happy with the work I did here with the knowledge that I had.

Perhaps one day I'll go back and create more with this photo but for now it will serve as a memory of one of my first projects in compositing.

Kickstarter project.

I've shared the work here on my blog before here.

And I just couldn't resist backing it and I told husband we had to do it. So we did.

Lauren's work is irresistible. It says so much about what we have forgotten about marriage in our culture these days. That it still can work. That people do still grow old together. To capture that is breathtaking and often leaves me speechless.

This post may become long winded so don't say I didn't warn you.

Here, if you feel like you are becoming faint just take a look at this instagram beauty

that I had the pleasure of enjoying on my birthday last week while in utah.

If you are a reader that has been around for a bit then you know that I have

changed around our blog almost monthly for a while now.

It just hasn't felt right and I could not figure out what it was.

Well I think I have finally figured it out.

I am done playing the blogging game.

I don't want to be the famous wife and mommy blogger.

It works for some.

Some do it beautifully and they have been around for so long they have learned how to do it with dignity.

But it doesn't feel good for me, or us, anymore.

And it has become so annoying.

I can show you our life through our passions.

I want this to be a place where you can be inspired

because I am inspired and Jordan's inspired

and we are inspired.

I want to share our photography, mostly mine because pharmacy school is like a death sentence,

and document it so that I can go back to it and see how much

I have grown and be reminded of those that have pushed me to become better.

So from here on out the main purpose of this blog will be to document my photography.

I didn't want to completely cut husband out because he is the most vital part of my life

so you can bet your bowtie you will be seeing him around.

His lens are important too.

I mean he can't see without them.

And lets not forget roy, he will be around also.

He is my best model.

Sometimes.

So be prepared for more changes

and we hope you'll stick around if you like.

.we went bowling for the first time in a long while the other night with

some of husband's pharmacy school mates and it was a blast.

.we absolutely love bowling.

.one day last week i came home and found a box sitting out by the door.

.i hadn't ordered anything recently and as far as i knew husband hadn't either.

.i grabbed the box, brought it in and cared more about my nap.

.an hour later, when i woke up, husband was getting home

and was delighted to see the box.

.apparently earlier in the week, husband was having some serious nostalgia
and reminiscing of a childhood love.

.the rubik's cube.

.this was his first time trying a cube in years
and he did it in 2 min and 4 sec.
.i can't even do it at all and after several hours i give up.

.my new camera has video -- it is so weird i'm used to actually shooting on one these.
.the focus is quite different.

.he has since made it down to 17 seconds.
.ridiculous.

.yes we are nerds.
.and we love it.

.i came home to flowers today, which was a huge surprise.

.not because my husband doesn't do sweet things but

because he does and today is no different than usual.

.husband is not a man of holidays -- we celebrate them but he is the type

of man who thinks everyday should be celebrated like a holiday.

.me on the other hand i always go full out on the holidays

cards, candy, dinner,

and most of the time i forget about the little things in between.

teaching me to remember these things on a daily basis.

.disclaimer: as i've mentioned before this blog won't always be peaches and cream

because honestly life just doesn't work that way.

.yesterday hit me like a slap in the face.

.a little over two years ago, while we were living in utah, i had the opportunity

to work for one of the largest newspapers in utah and it was awesome.

.in journalism generally the bad comes more readily than the good and as part of my duties
i had to edit the online stories to go up at the strike of midnight
and possibly even earlier if the story was breaking.

.i worked during a time when devastation was a high -
a climber was stuck in a mine,
mother nature took it's toll on haiti,
and specifically when susan powell went missing.

.naturally, i was very close to all of these stories, their timelines, and new developments.

.but especially the powell case.
.i was even in the newsroom when the story first broke.

.i watched and read interviews by the minute, the hour, and the day.
.everyone in the newsroom wanted a happy ending for her and her family.

.well yesterday the two year old story took a turn for the worse
and that's all i'm going to say about that.

.we are flabbergasted.
.we hoped for better.

.please keep this family in your prayers.
.they most certainly need them.

.on september 17, 2010 i finished a list of 25 things i wanted to do before i turned 25.

.in just over a month i'll be 24 and have only one more year to complete this list.

.so i thought i'd share what i've accomplished and what is still left.

.go to another country (besides brazil).

.read the scriptures from cover to cover.

.be inside at least 25 temples.

.run a marathon.

~~.start a business.~~

~~.develop a closer relationship with my family.~~

.attend the napp.

.take husband on a cruise or beach destination trip.

.go on a church history tour.

.go to brazil.

.go to wrigley field.

.make husband a mission scrapbook.

~~.have 5,000 in savings just because.~~

~~.help husband with his pharmacy school apps and go to pharmacy school.~~

.make preparations for a baby.

~~.take a road trip across the country.~~

~~.become a better cook.~~

.spend atleast 10 days with husband in nyc (collectively or separately).

.send a birthday card to everyone in our family for a year.

.call my best friends more.

.rid soda from my life for good.

.create a project i am passionate about.

.i haven't looked at this list in some time

and somehow i still managed to get six things marked off

and will mark off four more things from now until july.

.i also just realized there are a few things i better start doing now if i want

to finish them before i turn twenty-five.
