Last June 27, Plurk friends and I planned a toy shoot and trade-off. It was supposed to be held last May, but got delayed a month further because the mastermind kept canceling. He still didn’t go in the end. =_= Those able to were Kat, Karen, Joiz, and Drew. Maru soon followed, but only to check on us.

I used my (heavy) Pentax Asahi Honeywell, but I wasn’t able to load the film properly. I found out about that just the other day. *facepalms* What a stupid I am. Good thing I thought of taking several pictures using the crap camera of my Omnia.

Maru’s birthday in Mr. Jones

July 28 was the BRODA’s birthday. That means another night of pigging out. When my Dad asked me where to eat, I recommended Mr. Jones in Greenbelt 5. Not that I’ve tried there before. I haven’t; they haven’t either. We always go for restaurants we haven’t tried yet to celebrate a family member’s birthday. So far, we haven’t been unlucky.

The parents didn’t want to eat outside the restaurant. It was humid and people smoked. Although it was more spacious there though, we just settled inside the restaurant. Near the door and the kitchen. Normally, people would be annoyed by that but we weren’t. There was still enough space even though it looks cramped. The only thing that annoyed my Mum was the heat that keeps coming in from the outside whenever the waiters would go in and out.

Price range of food in Mr. Jones is about PhP350 to PhP600. Some are worth PhP900+. Drinks are PhP200 or PhP250 at minimum. These were our orders:

Ribs and fries for the celebrant

The food was really filling as they do American serving. I had to part with my diet watch for a while. LOL I think the family was overall happy. My Mum though wasn’t that pleased that supposedly “three small plates” were in sundae glasses. XD; Well, she still liked the food. She just didn’t get to eat them all up because she also ate some of my Dad’s pasta. I wasn’t that happy as well with the Mojito. The leaves kept getting in the straw and there were more leaves than the drink itself. =_=

Mr. Jones is more or less an American diner, but they still haven’t reached my humble expectations. The food price is high, but worth it if we’re talking about the serving. They’re just not the place I would highly recommend. I might be back to try their milkshakes as those are just ♥. I hope they won’t disappoint. *crosses fingers*

A get-together last May

This was before my near-suicidal days. *lol* Looking back at these pictures certainly brings back memories — when things were slightly less complicated.

The City Government of Makati holds parties such as this get-together about once or twice a year. This is the second get-together I’ve been to. I think I missed one because I was out of the country then. Being that we were not sure if this would be our last time to be able to attend a get-together, we tried to enjoy as much as we could.

We had a blast dancing and singing along to the band. After I was worn out from the dancing, an old (drunk) man suddenly invited me to dance with him. I didn’t want to at first because he scared me, but it seemed I didn’t have any choice. So I danced with him. I thought my arm would fall off as he kept pulling me. I also thought I would barf that he reeked of alcohol. DX

Oh, I also brought my LC-A+ that day to test out the Kodak Ultima film. No spectacular shots, but still liking the results:

Mutant Girl Squad

Sugimoto Yumi is a gravure idol who has been in some drama series and the sentai series Engine Sentai Go-onger. Last month, her movie Mutant Girl Squad (Sento Shojo: Chi no Tetsu Kamen Densetsu) premiered. She plays Rin whose arms mutated on her 16th birthday. Mutant Girl Squad is the likes of Robogeisha. Actually, one of the directors of Mutant Girl Squad also did the aforementioned. If you have a weak stomach and mutilation makes you barf, then this movie isn’t for you.

Mutant Girl Squad currently has a rating of 7.8 at IMDB. Not bad, right? Now where to get this. My source doesn’t have it yet.

Tutti Frutti Glorietta

I remember Jan saying that she wanted to try the yogurt shoppe near Glorietta Food Choices, but it was still closed then. *lol* Define excited. XD

Tutti Frutti

Weeks or days after the opening of that yogurt shoppe named Tutti Frutti, we decided to try their yogurt with the belief that they’re a cheaper alternative to Red Mango. We were with Jan’s (most likely perverted) stalker who almost ruined our happy yogurt mood. ~_~

In Tutti Frutti, there are several yogurt flavors to choose from. I had green tea — my yogurt of choice. The two had chocolate. The green tea yogurt tastes the same as Red Mango’s only slightly less sour.

They don’t have much toppings selection yet you can choose as much as you want. It’s not even displayed from what brands they are. Not that it’s supposed to be an issue, but I thought that it’s normal to display them like in Dairy Queen or Red Mango.

I forgot exactly what toppings I chose. Based on this picture, I guess I had red bean, candy sprinkles, and cornflakes.

My order cost me less than PhP150. The price isn’t too far from my Red Mango staple, so I am for Red Mango still.

Service-wise, the staff are nice but I don’t see why they would need a lot of people when it’s mostly self-service. Well, they were a lot then. I am not sure how they are now, generally speaking, since they were still new then.

I won’t do a review of Red Mango btw. Everyone seems to have tried their yogurt already. I’ll be sharing pictures instead from my first Red Mango experience with Jan and Erick.
