About Pete Wilson

Pete Wilson is the founding and senior pastor of Cross Point Church in Nashville, TN. This is the second church he has planted in the last seven years. His first church, Morgantown Community Church, was planted just weeks after graduating from college.

Pete graduated from Western Kentucky University with a degree in communications and then attended seminary at Southern Seminary in Louisville, KY. Pete’s desire is to see churches become radically devoted to Christ, irrevocably committed to one another, and relentlessly dedicated to reaching those outside of God’s family.

About Scott Todd

About Scott: Dr. Scott Todd is Chairman of the Board for North America’s largest network of Christian relief and development organizations and the Senior Ministry Advisor at Compassion International. He has co--authored Shared Strength, Relentless Hope and is the author of Poverty, a book from Compassion’s Ministry Philosophy Series.

In addition to his work at Compassion, Scott Todd is one of the architects and leading voices of 58: Fast. Forward. The End of Poverty. Through 58:, an action-based alliance of world-class, poverty-fighting organizations have joined together to unleash the power and possibilities of the global Church to end extreme poverty. To emphasize the focus of the 58: movement, Dr. Todd was recently featured in the provocative and stirring short film “The Poor Will Not Always Be with Us.”

A renowned expert on global poverty, Dr. Todd is a sought-after and gifted communicator with a passion for making the case that ending extreme poverty is not only possible, but probable in our lifetime.

Prior to his work at Compassion, Dr. Todd was an award-winning scientist whose career began at Stanford as a fellow in Oncology. A winner of multiple grants in medical research and author of over a dozen scientific articles, Dr. Todd also holds a patent for the treatment of Hepatitis C. But he considers those things rubbish compared to knowing Jesus Christ, and he lives to serve Jesus with his whole heart.

Innovate 4 Jesus partnered with Jubilee Reach to create these videos about the impact Club Jubilee Sports is having in the Bellevue, Washington School District.

Club Jubilee is a Christian program that is providing after school sports to public middle school children throughout the Bellevue area. Without this program, many children would have no sports programs available to them.

Many churches on the Eastside are working together to support this mission through financial contributions and volunteer time. The children who participate in Club Jubilee, many of whom come from broken families, learn important life skills and have a constructive outlet for their time and energy.

We pray other communities of christians around the world will take Jubilee’s example and find ways to partner with their local school districts to bring the church to the people through sports. If you have questions about this program or would like to discover how you can start one in your city email Justin at Innovate 4 Jesus to get an introduction to Jubilee.

More about Jubilee Reach

The following information was pulled from Jubilee Reach’s website:

Jubilee REACH | Bring Jesus’ Healing, Build Community, and·Transform Lives

REACH- Provide Resources, Education, Assistance, Community and Hospitality to youth and families on the margins.·

Our mission is to Love, Listen and Learn and step in the gaps for our neighbors in need. We seek to provide the tools for an environment of Hope for children and adults economically, academically and culturally stressed in the city of Bellevue.

The situation in the Bellevue:

52 languages are spoken in local schools

64% of students qualify for free/reduced lunch

School children are struggling academically; 50% earning D’s and F’s

Often working poor, single parents are unable to afford medical or dental care, before and after school care and live in poor, overcrowded conditions

A large population of immigrant families, suffering from cultural isolation, alienation and the resulting loneliness

At Jubilee REACH we:

Build relationships, earn trust, and then respond to the needs—all with love and hospitality

Partner with more than 1,000 volunteers, local schools, the city, churches, foundations, businesses and individuals to step into the gap with community care and programs that are stepping stones into long term success.

Offer a hand up, not a hand out

Jubilee REACH’s model is not to duplicate or replicate, but to integrate, advocate andcollaborate with those who are already invested and working in the community. The programs at Jubilee REACH rely heavily on donor and volunteer support in collaboration with local schools, city government, churches and businesses. Heavily supported by volunteers, Jubilee REACH is able to operate through the gift of more than 4,000 hours of service a month by 1,000 faithful volunteers in 39 “need based” programs. All programs are offered at minimal or no cost to the participants.
