PANTS ON FIRE by Meg Cabot. This has been my first time reading a Meg Cabot. But I know her from her Princess Diaries series. After taking a break from the world of The Twilight Saga, I settled for this book, read it and finished the whole day.

The story is simple, cute, fast-paced read. Definitely for teenagers! I find myself never wanting to stop turning the pages. I really enjoyed reading the romantic parts between Katie and Tommy. I will surely pick another Meg Cabot book. Can’t wait for her books in my shelves.

So I haven’t been posting an entry for a week. I’m preoccupied with school and book.

And this one’s in my current queue. HATE LIST by Jennifer Brown.

Five months ago, Valerie Leftman’s boyfriend, Nick, opened fire on their school cafeteria. Shot trying to stop him, Valerie inadvertently saved the life of a classmate, but was implicated in the shootings because of the list she helped create. A list of people and things she and Nick hated. The list he used to pick his targets.

Now, after a summer of seclusion, Val is forced to confront her guilt as she returns to school to complete her senior year. Haunted by the memory of the boyfriend she still loves and navigating rocky relationships with her family, former friends and the girl whose life she saved, Val must come to grips with the tragedy that took place and her role in it, in order to make amends and move on with her life.

The book deals with murder, hatred and fear. But Jennifer Brown delivered it in a light way. I couldn’t stop reading it. After I finish Breaking Dawn, I’m going to indulge in this book!

What a shame, I don’t have the real thing, only the e-book. So the photo credits goes here. Here’s a short synopsis:

Melinda Sordino is starting high school with a terrible secret and without any friends. At an end of summer party, Melinda was raped by a senior. Dazed and drunk, she called the police but left before they arrived. Now everyone thinks she called the police to break up the party. Everyone is mad at her, including her group of good friends from middle school. Melinda has told no one, not even her parents. She carries the burden of this alone, confused and inwardly tortured. Once a happy girl, she is now depressed, withdrawn and hardly ever speaks.

There’s also a 2004 movie adaptation of this book starring Kristen Stewart as Melinda Sordino. I’m thinking of watching it again after I finished reading it.

SA’YO LAMANG

After a very long time, this has been the chance that I was able to watch in a movie theatre! So we watched Sa’Yo Lamang. It was really unexpected. We headed to the mall to catch a movie, but it was the only movie available in the theaters. (SUCKS!)

Oh well, the movie was pretty great. Except that I notice that the voices are kind of squeaky in the movie. I think many families can relate to the story plot. But to tell you, the movie itself has twists and is more than simply the story of a broken family. Well, I’m not giving spoilers to those who want to watch it.

So that has been my very short review which never sounded like a review. lol. Anyways, can’t wait to see the horror movie, White House, next month starring Gabby Concepcion.

Happy Birthday to My Blog!!

YEAH! YOU READ THAT RIGHT!! MY BLOG JUST TURNED 1!! OMG, I’M JUST THRILLED!

I’ve almost forgotten to post this. My blog’s birthday was supposed to be last September 2. Oh well! I’ve been busy in the past few days that I barely check my mails anymore. So awhile ago, I was browsing through my inbox and found this! I can’t believe I have this blog for a year!!

I remember the very first post I created. I didn’t know what Tumblr really was. I didn’t know how css works or like that. But then, all I knew was I wanted to express myself. And by creating this blog, I fulfill my purpose.

And to that, cheers for the best moments I had with this blog. There may be times that I forgot to manage or was just simply too lazy to post a single entry. Luckily, I had followers and readers who never left me. (And I know who they are!) So I hope for a wonderful year again! CHEERS!!
