1. Rock: Hallelujah (Cover W/Dylan) by fromano

Some time ago, following a link my good friend FatChance exposed in chat, I could listen to a memorable take by K.D. Lang of a song I've always loved. Well, I had the original Leonard Cohen's version in mind, so I didn't expect such energy and elegance. My mouth could only say "wow". hehe.
Being a shameless megalomaniac, I couldn't help thinking "why not pushing the song a little more to the limit?". I involved Dylan in this thing, and he brought his distinctive vox, his taste and his skill to the project.
It came out a strange version of this classic, and liking it or not is obviously a matter of personal taste, but we had fun making it, and this is all the whole thing is about, isn't it?
Thank you very much, Dyl, for your unvaluable help and for your long-lasting friendship. It's always an honor and a pleasure to make noise with ya.

Enjoy the ride, my friends. Hallelujah.

Dylan : Lead vocals
Fulvio : Lead and backing vocals, all instruments.
L. Cohen : Genius.
2. Pop: LIberation by Geechi3

I fell in love with this track as soon as I heard it. Thanks to Alex for allowing me to lay some vocals to this piece.

This song is dedicated to my boyfriend Sean. He doesn't know it yet. I want your feedback so it's perfect. I think it's a curse that a singer never likes his/her own voice. There are parts where I feel like cringing...partly due to the mixing and volume issues and me not being able to sing on key sometimes.

ANYWAY....I hope you like it!!! This song is something I do hold close to me.

3. Rock: Edgewood Point by BossHook

Last month Bo Diddley moved on to that great gig in the sky. A rock and roll creator from his start in Chicago on Checker Records, Bo carved out his own beat that would make the boys and girls crazy at the sock hops.

Bo’s beat was dirty. It resonated from the Stones version of Not Fade Away, Who - Magic Bus, Strangeloves – I Want Candy, Springsteen – She’s the One, to today KT Tunstell – Big Black Horse and the Cherry Tree and many more, not to mention the covers of Bo’s own tunes by the Yardbirds, Dead, Thorogood, etc.

I wrote this tune as a tip of the hat to Bo a few years back and got to finishing it.

Edgewood Point is the place in Everytown, USA where a boy takes his girl in his Daddy’s car to look up at the stars and steal away a first kisses.

Tonight I was at Bing's place and he came up with a new song. It was almost completed, but he didn't have any lyrics. I came up with some lyrics and they fitted exactly.
So here's another one we wrote together
Bing took care of the music, with lots of guitars and I did the vocals
We hope you like it

Filmscorz posted an open collab yesterday a Blues piece, what buzzed me was the final 3rd of the tune, an ambient sound scape, so I decided I would steal that part and try to do something with it, along the way I also decided to push the piece up a notch in the final 4th and used excellent blues riffs from Mick Reeves, so this tune does go threw some changes as it wanders along.

My thxs to Mick and Jeff for allowing me to hi jack some of there chops, and play with them.
19. Other: That Grand Ole Feeling (UF) by becwil

After reading an article on some new finds of human remains that are 4 million years old in Ethiopia, I felt inspired to begin a collection of tunes based on the idea that ancient people tell their stories every time an anthropologist writes of our curious ways, then and now.

This collection of bare bones is called Ultimately Fossil.

This is the eighth offering from this dig.

I'll be celebrating my 24th wedding anniversary in August. I thought I'd write a piece thinking about love. The kind of love that changes everything in one's life. The kind of love I've had the fortune to experience. It's a happy and giddy love. And I wonder if our ancient ancestors had similar feelings. I'm guessing they did. The chemistry of love is part of our core make-up. It is a force that can't be denied. Whether we understand it or not.

This tune has its drunken phase and then sobers up into the proverbial happiness-ever-after ending. Much like my life.

Previously released of Ultimately Fossil:
Unearthing Our Own
29. Metal: So Contagious by herrsolera

sonsofhypnos: male vocals
nadiestar: female vocals
Ignoramus: rhythm guitars
Eidolonia: lead guitars
herrsolera: music, lyrics

This song has changed more in my head than any other song I have yet written. It started off as a soft-to-heavy epic, then turned into a gothic doom metal song, and now … now I have no idea what it is. It's part grunge, part doom, part symphonic, and all rock. The song also tells a story, both musically and lyrically, so please pay attention to the narrative development.

In a desire to break the mold and turn too-orderly-for-their-own-good MIDI guitars into a blaze of guitar crunch, I asked iComp metal veteran Ignoramus to ignite the song with his firestorm guitars. From there, it was time for the lead guitar, so I called on the best man for the job, doom aficionado Eidolonia. Not only did he perfectly recreate the leads, but he also added a cataclysmic solo, raising the bar in overall heaviness. Having digested their entire catalog and loved every minute of it, I asked the Midwest alt-rock duo sonsofhypnos to take lead male vocals and breathe life into our twisted male antagonist. Finally, one of iCompositions' most sought-after vocalists, nadiestar joined the adventure, playing the role of the young woman in our story and completing the balance between light and dark.

I am especially proud of this collaboration because it has been the most truly collaborative experience I have done yet. Unlike my other projects, which consisted of special guests contributing a solo or enhancing certain parts, every musician left their musical footprint on this project from start to finish. Putting together a mix that would unite every element and keep each contributor satisfied with the final product was a difficult task, and I pray I didn't disappoint.

I hope you enjoy this dark little story, and on behalf of my talented collaborators, thank you for listening.

Notable influences:
"7 Days to the Wolves" (Nightwish)
"In Mist She Was Standing" (Opeth)
"Light of Day, Day of Darkness" (Green Carnation)
"Lunar Sanctum" (Kamelot)
"Lifelike" (Dust for Life)
First iComp collab! I'm half really excited...and half nervous XDDD

All I added was the vocal on this one, so...thank you, Stockholm, for making such an awesome track and inviting me to collaborate on it!

The original is here

I added a lot of reverb to try to blend in with the other instruments, but I think I might have overdone it a little...opinions?

As I sit and think about the evil that is done to people by some of the goverments in this World, I often think that the people that make these "decisions" must be very sad and lonely people, haunted by their actions. This track is written and dedicated to that ideal and to the people who are good and righteous. Anyone agree with me? The final section of this track is a nice groove, left open for anyone wishing to participate. As always, download and let er rip!!!

this is just a sketch. I'm looking for someone willing to play with this.
Love of My Life is a ballad from the album A Night at the Opera by English rock band Queen. A live release of the single reached number 1 in Argentina and Brazil, in 1979. The preceding track on the album, "The Prophet's Song", flows seamlessly into this song, although the two were never performed back to back live.
Freddie Mercury wrote it on the piano and guitarist Brian May rearranged the song for acoustic 12-string guitar to facilitate live performances. May contributed occasional guitar phrases to the original recording and played the swooping harp glissandos by pasting together multiple takes of single chords. The song is a good example of Mercury's familiarity with rubato phrasing, showcasing his classical piano influences, notably by Chopin and Beethoven.
DJ Shadow (actually not our Dave ), is doing a cool experiment: he selected some "urban real sounds" coming from the cities of the world, putting them available for downloading on "Nokia Trends Lab" site and asked people to do and uploading their own mix using those tracks, within the 5th August (not permitted adding other sounds but those ones).

For details please go here:

This is what I was to upload there, I'd like to take some advices from U to get further improvements on the structure of this mix, right tension and so on.
Many thanx in advance to those who'll give me suggestions, hope some iCompers will upload their mixes in there too!!!!
