Touch ID not working Properly, Here's how to fix it

Folks, there is so many times your new iPhone 5s Touch ID will not response you as he has to. It's not a problem with your finger, it is actually how you store your finger image on first time.

Touch ID certainly isn’t perfect: As someone who’s been using it since I picked up my iPhone 5s on launch day, I’ve had my fair share of frustration—especially because I swapped out my simple 4-digit passcode with a multi-character alphanumeric version.

But despite its occasional malfunctions, Touch ID has become one of my favorite features on the iPhone. To make sure it stays one of yours, too, here are a few tips and tricks I’ve found to keep Touch ID working properly, as well as some advice about when you shouldn’t use it at all.

Start with a good scan-

In the days after I first offered up my prints to Touch ID, I found myself wondering if my fingers simply weren’t cut out for this whole biometric scanning thing: I would frequently have to scan my thumb two or three times to get the phone to unlock. It usually got it by the third try, so I figured the problem was my inexperience with the new technology. But as the weeks wore on, I ended up having to manually type in my code half of the time—enough that I got fed up.

Adjust your grip: When I went to rescan my prints, I had a realization: I had previously scanned my thumb straight up, with my nail pointing toward the top of the iPhone, but I rarely hold my device that way. Instead, I point my thumbs at a 45-to-90-degree angle when gripping my phone.

This time when I scanned, I carefully avoided putting the iPhone flat on a table and scanning my thumb like I was being fingerprinted. Instead, I tried to replicate how I actually hold my phone. This completely changed the experience of Touch ID for me. After a week of using the new saved print, I’ve encountered fewer than ten errors—a good deal better than my previous experience.

This might be the only piece of scanning advice you need, but if you find you’re still having difficulty, there are other options.

Scan in multiple fingerprint angles: Touch ID stores up to five prints, and given that my 5s is mine and mine alone, I’ve used those print stores to actually capture multiple versions of my thumbprints—each has been scanned once when angled at 60 degrees, and once while pointing straight up. It ensures that even if your grip is a little different, Touch ID should still recognize your thumb.

Use a different finger: If you have a mark or cut on your thumb that makes fingerprint analysis and reading difficult, you may have to retire that finger from Touch ID use and instead try one of your other digits.

Make sure your finger touches the metal ring: The steel ring around your Touch ID sensor isn’t just there for looks—it helps the scanner recognize your print. As such, if you don’t make contact with it when you try to open your phone, you may have some trouble.

When Touch ID doesn’t work -

Even if Apple’s fingerprint sensor works 90 percent of the time for you, that probably just makes it all the more frustrating when it doesn’t. Here are a few situations where Touch ID may be less effective than your good old passcode.

When it’s cold outside: Are you finding that your iPhone doesn’t really like your touch when you’re cold? Touch ID’s technology may be to blame: When checking your finger against stored information, the sensor scans both your fingerprint and the underlying layer of skin, called your subdermis.

In order to do this, the sensor looks to see if your finger can conduct electricity and heat. (Yes, this means that a supervillain cannot chop off your finger and then use it to access the top secret information on your gadgets.) If your digits have been out in the cold, however, they’ll register as less conductive on the scanner, and that may prevent Touch ID from letting you in.

When your fingers (or phone) are wet: While we as a society may have given up on the concept of not using your devices in the bathroom, it turns out that your iPhone still has some decorum. If you try to use Touch ID while your fingers are damp or after you’ve recently been in the shower, the sensor often won’t recognize your print—either because the water residue is interfering with the scan or your finger has absorbed too much water, giving you “raisin fingers” (and a slightly different-looking print than the recorded data on your phone).

When you trigger security overrides: You won’t be able to unlock your phone with Touch ID if you fail a thumb scan more than five times, if you restart your device, if you haven’t unlocked it in more than 48 hours, or if you need to access the Touch ID & Passcode setting. This hindrance is actually designed for your security. It prevents would-be thieves from getting into your device by repeatedly trying to spoof your fingerprint (or add in a new one without your permission).

When the sensor is dirty: Like any scanner that’s regularly exposed to the elements, your Touch ID sensor may occasionally pick up dust, dirt, and other unwanted particles. According to this support document from Apple, a clean lint-free cloth should take care of most junk; if you find yourself unable to clean your sensor, though, you may have to take it to the Apple Store and see if it’s been permanently damaged in some way.

How to access Draft eMails instantly on iPhone or iPad

If you're writing an email on your iPhone, iPad or iPad mini and you don't have time to finish, or you're simply not sure you're ready to send it yet, you can always save it as a draft and come back to it later.

However, it can take a lot of hunting and tapping to actually get back to it. Luckily, iOS contains a gesture shortcut that can make tracking down all your draft emails a little bit faster.

How to quickly access draft emails on the iPhone and iPad.

1. Launch the Mail app from the Home screen of your iPhone or iPad.

2. In the upper right hand corner, hold down on the Compose button.

3. Instead of launching a brand new email, your iPhone or iPad will bring up all the drafts you have previously saved, regardless what account they were created from.

4. Simply tap on the draft you'd like to finish writing and you can fire away the email as soon as you're done. That's all there is to it.

How to upgrade to iOS7 Right Now (No Developer Ac Needs)

As we did last year with iOS 6, we again back with iOS 7 hack.

Although iOS 7 won't see an official release until September 18th, you can install the final version right now even if you're not a developer thanks to some anonymous public postings of the software update files.

Here's how.

Note: We updated a handful of iDevices using these files and encountered no issues, but because we're unable to verify them all we don't know problems won't arise. This process worked for us when we tested with an iPad, and iPod touch, and an iPhone, but there's always a chance you could run into an issue. Please be aware that there's some risk involved before you upgrade.

Backup First!

Before you do anything, back up your iDevice with iTunes. In the past, the early upgrade process worked for some but not for everyone. The results may be the same this time around, though we've upgraded to the final version of iOS 7 without issue. Regardless of whether or not things work out you will need to restore your device so back it up!

Download iOS 7

Thanks to a public posting on Mega, you can download the Golden Master version (essentially identical to the final release coming next week) of iOS 7 for your device without logging into the Apple Developer Center. Here are the download links. Choose the type of device you want to update:

➡ Open iTunes and connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, to your computer.

➡ If your device isn't automatically selected in iTunes, select it and go to the "Summary" tab.

➡ Hold down the option key (OS X) or the shift key (Windows) and click the Restore button. Browse to the .ipsw file you downloaded, select it, and wait for the update to finish.

➡ If necessary, restore your device from backup and sync with iTunes.

That's it. If you follow those steps, you'll be up and running iOS 7 in no time.

What we expect from September 10 iPhone event

When Apple CEO Tim Cook takes the stage at the company’s Cupertino, Calif. headquarters on Tuesday, he’ll likely do something Apple has never done before: release two iPhones at once.

The introduction of the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C is widely rumored and eagerly anticipated at next week’s big Apple event, though it’s unlikely they’ll be the only new devices at the company's first major product launch in almost a year.

Here’s what to expect on Tuesday:

iPhone 5S

The iPhone 5S is an upgrade and not an entirely new phone. In addition to a selection of new metallic finishes, it should have a faster processor, and we expect Apple to spend a lot of time talking about the new features and capabilities it’ll support.

Chief among them may be the new fingerprint scanner. This rather significant security upgrade could live next to or under the home button. Biometric security of this sort usually works best when it’s coupled with a CPU-level security platform. On PCs, that’s known as a Trusted Platform Management, which cryptographically stores keys associated with, for instance, fingerprint scanners. In other words, expect Apple to get a bit into the guts of just how secure this phone really is in the presentation — an acknowledgement of the iPhone’s growing stature in the enterprise.

We expect some speed improvements, centered around an Apple-designed A7 system-on-a-chip. It's also possible Apple will boost the new iPhone's RAM, from the 1 GB found in the iPhone 5.

The new iPhone 5S will also have some new photography chops. In addition to a bigger sensor (13 megapixels is a possibility), it’s likely to have a new dual-LED flash. If, as some reports have suggested, it has two different colors, that could help improve photo color accuracy.

iPhone 5C

The iPhone 5C (which people are saying stands for China or Color) will be Apple’s first, official budget iPhone. Reports suggest a $99 subsidized price and roughly $350 if bought off contract. It should have multiple colors and a plastic body. It’s also likely that the iPhone 5C’s internal components will be a near match for what’s found in the current iPhone 5, especially since no one expects Apple to shrink the iPhone 5C back to iPhone 4S dimensions.

The bigger news, though, will be why Apple is doing this. Most consider the 5C a product designed specifically for the Chinese market. Developing nations present a huge opportunity for every mobile company, but without subsidies and a far less strict environment for piracy and knockoffs, some have had some trouble breaking through or maintaining momentum in markets like China.

A more affordable iPhone and a reported deal with China’s biggest telco could revitalize Apple in this vast market. And in case you don’t think this phone is about the Chinese, Apple has made its intentions clear by, for the first time, holding a special launch event in the country, a few hours after the U.S. edition concludes.

Apple TV

Senior Technology Analyst Christina Warren has been studying the iOS 7 update for weeks and noticed that it includes some features for an updated version of Apple TV. No, not the long-rumored Apple HDTV set. Instead, we’re talking about the little black box that has gone from “hobby” to a multi-million-unit-selling success.

Not much is known about the anticipated Apple TV changes. Warren tells us that there will be some interface differences, ones that will pull Apple TV in line with iOS 7’s new, more austere look. The hardware design hasn’t changed much in two years; so we might see an update there, as well. Perhaps they’ll follow Google’s Chromecast lead and make it dongle-sized, though that is unlikely.

iOS 7 and iTunes Radio

Thanks to WWDC and multiple interim betas, we already know plenty about iOS 7, except for the exact delivery date. Since the mobile OS ships with all the new phones, Apple should also announce update availability.

We also expect some focus on Apple’s new music-streaming service iTunes Radio, which will ship as a part of iOS 7. Expect details on advertiser partners and maybe a musical act or two to show the music industry’s support for the new service.

iPods?

It's almost easy to forget that Apple's September event used to be focused on iPods. We suppose there's some chance we'll see an updated MP3 player or two, but the more likely scenario is a new iPod touch. If it follows the patterns of previous years, it will have a lot in common with the current iPhone, but will sport slightly downgraded specs (and, of course, no cellular connectivity).

But with the iPhone 5C set to launch at a price that's pretty close to that of the iPod touch, it will be interesting to see how Apple handles this. Will the touch get a price drop? Will it remain unchanged from last year's model? Our money is on a touch that looks like last year's model, only with slightly upgraded internals.

Airport Updates

Apple updated the Airport Extreme to the zippier 802.11ac Wi-Fi spec earlier this year and most Apple watchers expect them to do the same with the AirPort Express (the iPhone 5S will likely support the new standard as well). It should be no more than a brief mention.

Drawl, Charm and Schiller

While Tim Cook will, no doubt, open the event with his trademark drawl, it’s probably Apple marketing chief Phil Schiller who will command the most stage time and likely show off most, if not all, of the new hardware. Design head Jony Ive will be in attendance, but not on stage. He prefers the big screen and we expect at least one highly produced video where he explains — yet again — the Apple design and engineering magic.

Surprise?

During the Steve Jobs years, Apple had an uncanny knack for surprising us. But leaks have betrayed almost all of the company's recent products, to the point where surprise isn't a big part of the equation anymore.

Can Apple rediscover that, and throw us for a curve? Will Tim Cook roll up his sleeve to reveal the iWatch? Will Phil Schiller pull back the curtain on the iTV? Again, unlikely on both counts. But if it did, that might be just what the doctor ordered to restore that Apple "magic" that has faded a bit during the Tim Cook regime.

Apple could also reveal a MacBook Pro update, though that could seem out of place in the mostly-mobile event. It’s more likely Tim Cook will officially bury the iPod Classic and, just maybe, reveal a hardware update to the mostly overlooked iPod Nano (don’t they change the design every six months?).

Wild cards for this event include an Apple iWatch and a real Apple HD Television set (maybe a 4K display!). Though industry watchers are itchy for Apple to enter a new product category with either one of these devices (or something completely different), it's extremely unlikely either will make an appearance.

As always, there are still many unanswered questions (though not as many as there were before Apple’s vaunted secrecy sprung as many leaks as a Snowden NSA memo). The good news is we only have hours to wait before we know at least part of why Tim Cook promised us a very busy fall.

The singer, PSY, recently taught Britney Spears how to dohis ‘galloping horse dance’, coining a new popular catch phrase “Dress classyand dance cheesy.” He also performed live at the Rockefeller Center in New YorkCity for NBC’s Today show.

It’s an accomplishment, considering the song is in hisnative language, with no translations. PSY is the first Korean artist to gomainstream in the United States. How to Play Chess or Checkers on Your iPhone with iMessage (Modified)

Using an app that has Game Centre built in is a really easy way to play boardgames against friends, but here’s another perhaps slightly more tedious way of going about it.

Last week we discovered the funniest way to play Connector Four on an iPhone. It’s silly and slightly painful, but completely awesome in a nerdy way. Now someone’s raised the stakes and figured out that you can also create games of Checkers or Chess using emoji.

Posters on Reddit have demonstrated that it is indeed possible to play chess and Checkers via iMessage using emoji characters. (but indeed they are not quite useful as in middle of the game who know which horse is white one or black one or actually which one is horse & which one is camel lol..).

So, i just made a very distinctive bifurcation so you can use it without memorizing which one is your's.

While it’s definitely time consuming, it’s very impressive. Take a look below!

Now its quite easy to remember the black & white pawn's as well the use of its. because here the horse is actually horse & elephant/camel is actually camel.

Sorry for this long delay of my post actually I busted my server PSU & the PSU only available in USA so importing & custom as well installation takes time, now all fine so I post a new tips today "Play Connect 4 with use of Emoji".

Emoji's are almost always fun. I mean, does it get better than throwing up hilarious characters like a hammering toilet with winged money to friends or changing Jay-Z and Kanye West lyrics to Emoji so hard? Didn't think so. But what about those shape emojis? THOSE are useless. Until now.

Those stupid shape Emojis that no one really ever uses CAN ACTUALLY BE USED TO PLAY CONNECT FOUR. GENIUS. Yeah, there's probably an app for that but WHO THE HELL cares. It's Emoji 4 and that's funner than any digital board game on the planet.

Yes! It's looking like funny but it quite easy as well addictive when you start playing and you needs nothing just iMessage enabled iDevice with emoji keyboard.

So, let start play

1. You need to enable iMessage & emoji keyboard to start play which is quite extensively describe in my earlier below posts.

2. After enabling iMessage & emoji you just need to send a message through WiFi/Cellular to your friend with whom you want to play this game.
You need to select the last option in the emoji keyboard to see these color balls.

You can create any dimension/size of the boards just use your imagination.
But quite easy & useful dimension is 6x4 or 6x7 (which is standard for Connect Four).

3. Now select which colour you want or give choice to your friend it can be blue or red.

4. Now just send the same iMessage to your friend with your selection & your friends need to copy the same & point out where he want to put his ball & delete it & insert his colour ball.

5. You don't need to enter all the circle each time just copy & paste the last one & put your ball after delete the white one. As well Just select the Recently use button on the emoji keyboard it will only display the last 2 ball on upper side which easy to play fast & furiously.

You can use you imagination or use more emoji as hurdle to make fun of this game.

How to Send Wild Emoticons on Your iPhone

Many of you know my earlier post about how to activate a Smileys/Emoji in iPhone/iPad Keyboard.

Today i tell one more new creative keyboard which also natively incorporated in iOS keyboard but only few know about it use as Wild Emoticons.

The steps are same as to activate Smiley/Emoji i told you earlier, Just make not of the keyboard which need to select this time.

Step 1. Go to Settings>General>Keyboard.

Step 2. Then select International Keyboards>Add New Keyboard.

Step 3. Now instead of selecting Emoji in the list, Add Japanese KANA and that's all.

Step 4. Now when you chat with your friend just tap on Globe button on your keyboard near to 123 to select Japanese (Kana) and Bingo!.

Step 5. Press the ^_^ button; You see a few emoticon faces here, but when you press the upward arrow above the delete button you see them all.

Have fun with your crazy emoticons, keep your friends guessing.

The default signature stamp in iPhone is "Sent from my iPhone" and you can change it any text you desired including HTML.

You can create HTML iPhone signatures easily via CoolGeex.com an application developed to generate HTML iPhone signatures. here the signature can be directly create from your iPhone or from your computer or laptop.

After click on this link iPhone Signature Creator version 4 you will redirected to a page where you need to sign up for a account as usual on other site, you can also choose sign in with Facebook for easy sign in process. After sign up process you get a form to fill up the required details.

In that above form please make sure that you enter required details like email address, name, phone number and residential address as most of the information asked there is optional and can be skipped like Complimentary Close, first name, last name etc.,. Turn your Mac/Windows Laptop into a Free Wireless Hotspot for iPad/iPhone

Friends! Nowadays everybody got Internet connection at there home/school or at office & some time WiFi but majority person still don't have WiFi connections all time.

As well we travels with two or more WiFi internet-connected devices (like iPad/iPhone & Laptop), but many hotels still require you to pay extra daily charges for each WiFi connection even have free wired network (Ethernet).

Even though i have WiFi router at home, I've been traveling a lot for auditing works, and I quickly got sick of paying an extra Rs.500/$10 per day to get my iPad or iPhone online even they giving free wired connection (Ethernet).

Ya! I know you says "why don't you use 3G/4G tethering on iPhone?" but buddy that sucks battery as well 3G/4G also not come free. Luckily, I have an iDea! as long as your room comes with an ethernet port, you should be able to use your laptop's wireless card to beam, rather than receive, an internet signal. This trick works like a charm, is incredibly simple to set up, and even saved me a few hundred dollars over the course of a few trips.

Before we begin, you should make sure that you've got a laptop or desktop with a wireless card that isn't currently connected—means your laptop is connected to the wired network & your wireless card should be free, and we can use it to allow access to the internet. Note that you have to be plugged into a wired connection in order to share the connection wirelessly with others, or have a second wireless card. Readers should also note that this won't work on (some) work networks that use group policies to enforce TPS report cover sheet boredom and prevent you from having any fun at all.

WINDOWS 7 LAPTOP

Not have Windows 7 yet? You can accomplish the same thing in Windows Vista, XP, and even OS X—the Windows Vista method is almost identical to Windows 7, but XP requires a few more steps.
Even you can skip these all step by just installing one application called "Connectify.me.

Step 1: You'll want to start out by heading into the Network and Sharing Center through the Control Panel, or you can quickly get to it by right-clicking on the network icon in the system tray.

Step 2: Once you are there, find the link for "Set up a new connection or network".
You'll be prompted with a wizard that allows you to connect to VPNs, dial-up, or create a new ad hoc wireless network, which is what we want to do. You can easily use an ad hoc network to share files back and forth between two computers, but today we'll be using it for sharing the internet connection.

Step 3: Now a dialogue box open, you'll need to give your network a name and choose some security options—remember that WEP is extremely easy to crack (but most time easy to connect). The really important option on this page is to remember to check the box for "Save this network".

Step 4: Click ok! At this point your ad hoc network should be running and ready to start connecting your devices, but you'll want to hold off just a minute.

You'll notice that the ad hoc networks that you create get added to the quick-select wireless network list—when you disconnect from your ad hoc network, it's the same as stopping it. Connecting to the network is the same as starting it back up; this way you can quickly switch back and forth between connections with just a few clicks.

Step 5: The last step is enabling connection sharing through your regular network card, which will allow anybody connected to your ad hoc wireless to use your internet connection.

To do so, you'll want to head into the Network and Sharing Center, click the "Change adapter settings" link on the left, and then find your network connection in the list—it's very important that you only enable internet connection sharing on the adapter that is actually connected to the internet. In this case, my internet access at work goes through my Local Area Connection, so I've enabled it there.

At this point, you should be able to connect any wireless device to your new ad hoc network and access the internet, or even share files directly with your laptop.

MAC OSX LAPTOP

Step 1: In System Preferences, go to Sharing and on the Internet tab, click the source (Ethernet) and the way the other computer will connect (most likely Wi-Fi).

Step 2: Then click the checkbox next to "Internet Sharing" in the left-hand column to get started.

This'll create a Wi-Fi hotspot emanating from your Mac that you can connect any other device to.

If you don't want everyone else nearby sucking down your bandwidth, click the "Wi-Fi" button to set a password on your ad-hoc network, before you hit the start button. Give your roomie the password and from there you're good to go.

Now to get up and running, plug your laptop into the hotel-provided ethernet port and follow whatever steps your hotel requires to get online. Then follow the above instructions to set up internet sharing, and don't forget to create a WPA key. In no time, you'll have a private Wi-Fi hotspot for all of your iPhones, iPad, and family members' laptops, all for the price of one connection or without WiFi router.

Call Forwarding in iPhone Simplified (Conditional)

iPhone is considered as a revolutionary mobile phone. May be it’s too revolutionary that it lacks some very basic features (or Hidden). Some iPhone users (including my bro) complain about the absence of conditional call forwarding feature (which can be found in most basic mobile phones like Nokia,Spice etc).
But it is right there only hidden from your eyes.
There is 4 types of call forwarding:-

1. Absolute Call Forward - All voice/data/fax diverted to another no.

2. Call forward if busy – Forward incoming call to another number if you’re on call.

3. Call forward if not answered – Forward the incoming call to another number if it is not answered for a predefined period of time.

4. Call forward if not reachable – Forward incoming call to another number if the phone is switch off or without signal.

iPhone allows you to setup absolute call forwarding to direct all calls to another phone number.
However, it doesn’t provide any interface to setup “Call forward if busy” and other conditional call forwarding. Despite the lack of user interface on iPhone to activate conditional forwarding, you can use the so-called “Conditional Call Forwarding Code” to activate it.

Activate Call Forwarding

Activating Call Forwarding is easy just you need to know the simple conditional call code.

1. Condition: There is three type of Condition as mentioned above, codes are here-

if Not Answered - 61
if Not Reachable - 62
if Busy - 67

2. Service Code: In case you have a signal problem in your apartment and use google voice account to receive calls through the internet(on the same phone) while the network signal is low.
In that case you need to forward only the voice calls and not the data calls.
There is three type of service which need/can to be forward select which you want.

Voice - 11
Data - 25
Fax - 13

3. Seconds: Call ring seconds before forwarding can be defined any. The default seconds is 20. It usable only with unanswered condition. You can change it any time just dialing the code again.

➡ To setup “Call forward if busy”,
simply dial
*67*{NumberRetrieved}*11# and tap “Call”

➡ To setup “Call forward if not answered”,
simply dial
*61*{NumberRetrieved}*11*15# and tap “Call”

➡ To setup “Call forward if unreachable”,
simply dial
*62*{NumberRetrieved}*11# and tap “Call”

Deactivate Call Forwarding

➡ To deactivate “Call forward if busy”,
Simply dial #67# and tap “Call”

➡ To deactivate “Call forward if not answered”,
Simply dial #61# and tap “Call”

➡ To deactivate “Call forward if not reachable”,
Simply dial #62# and tap “Call”

You do not need to remember all these codes. Say, you usually use “Call Forward if busy”, save the number as a new contact. Next time, when you need to activate call forwarding, just look up that contact and dial the number.

Convert Cellular Signal Bar to Number in iPhone & Hidden Codes

You may or may not be aware of it, but your iPhone has some secrets it’s been hiding from you, some of which are handy, some of which are hacky. Your iPhone has the ability to accept codes that can be typed into the phone application, each of which can do different things. I’m going to explain how to access these codes and what they do.

1. Activate Signal Number

This one is my favorite. After pressing code, you’ll be granted access to the Field Test app. Aside from the technical info that you’ll see here, you can also enable the ability to display a cellular reception number instead of bars.
The number represents how weak or strong your signal is. The higher the number, such as -100, the weaker the signal. The lower the number, -60, for instance, the better the signal. What’s even better is that you can replace those bars permanently just as I have on my own iPhone.

Here's how

➡ Dial *3001#12345#* and press call. It will open Field Test App.

➡ While in the Field Test app, tapping the area in the top left corner of the screen will switch the setting between bars and numbers.

➡ Once it’s set to numbers, hold the Sleep/Wake button until the iPhone displays the slide to power off screen. Do not power it off. Instead, hold down the home button until the power off screen disappears.

➡ Now you have numbers permanently. but you can easily swipe between bar & number by pressing the top left corner of screen. It make Signal Strength in number & bar changeable.

➡ Switch back to bars, simply dial the No. again & While in the Field Test app, tapping the area in the top left corner of the screen will switch the setting to bar again, now just press home button (Not sleep/wake button) & you back to bar.

2. Display IMEI

It’s probably not often that you need to retrieve your IMEI number. This code needed when your iPhone theft, but in the event that you do, save yourself some time by using this code.

*#06# (No need to press call)

3. Interrogation Settings for Call Forwards

It is used to set interrogation for call forwards. It discover the settings for your call forwarding. Using this you can check whether you have voice, data, fax, SMS,sync, async, packet access, and pad access call forwarding enabled or disabled on your iPhone.

*#21# & Press Call

4. Call Waiting

It is used to check if call waiting is enabled for your iPhone or not. It also shows call waiting status for voice, data, fax, SMS, sync data, async data, packet access and pad access. Each item is either enabled or disabled.

*#43# & Press Call

5. Calling Line Presentation Check

This displays whether you have enabled or disabled the presentation of the calling line, presumably the number of the party placing the call.

*#30# & Press Call

6. Connected Line Presentation Check

State whether the connected line presentation is enabled or disabled. Presumably similar to the calling line presentation.

*#76# & Press Call

7. Call Control Bar Check

Check all the usual suspects (voice, data, fax, sms, etc) to see whether barring is enabled or disabled for outgoing.

iMessage Basics to Expert Quick Tips

When I upgraded to iOS 5 from iOS 4 one of the things I liked instantly was its iMessage service. Apple introduced iMessage, a new capability within your iOS device’s Messages app that can send text, picture, and video messages to other iPhones without counting against your carrier’s messaging plan. What’s more, iMessages actually works with any device running iOS 5, meaning iPad and iPod touch (&iMac) owners can get in on the messaging fun, too.

Though iMessage is useful from the get-go, a few tips can make the feature far better—though you’ll need to point your iMessage-using friends to this story as well to benefit the most.

BASICS

1. How to set up iMessage

Wondering how to setup iOS 5's new iMessage service on your iPhone or iPod touch or iPad? Here's how to get started.

➡First off ensure your running the latest iOS 5 software

➡Select Settings
➡Select Messages
➡Turn the toggle switch for iMessage to on

➡You should see a message saying "Activating"; in case of iPad/ iPod touch you see A new box will open asking you for an Apple ID

➡You can now enter your receive to addresses, this can be an email address (Apple ID) or just your iPhone phone number, or both. The phone number part should already be filled out (in case of iPad/iPod in iOS 5 only option is putting Apple ID but in iOS 6 you can use both which coming to this fall)

➡Once completed you will now have an active iMessage account on your iPhone

➡You can toggle various options on and off such as read receipts, character count etc.
Also you have an option to send as an SMS if iMessage data connection is not available

That is all you need, you now have iMessage set up on your iPhone/iPad or iPod touch.

2. Identity Management

Ok now we have iMessage set up there are a few things to consider. If you only have one device then you are fine. If you have multiple iOS 5 devices then you will need to think about how you want them to work. Do you want separate iMessage accounts for each device? More than likely, you would want one account that stays in sync across all of your devices.

If you want separate iMessage accounts for each device, you will need to create separate Apple ID's for each device, these can be created for free in the iMessage original set up screen. Just select Create New Account.

If you want to have all devices use one iMessage account then you need to input the same Apple ID details into each device iMessage setup page.

If that sounds confusing, don't worry. With iOS 6, set for release this September, Apple will allow you to "merge" your iPhone phone number and Apple ID so all your iMessages will go to all your devices, regardless of whether or not they're sent to your phone number or email address.

3. Color Bifurcation

If you're using an iPod touch, iPad, or Mac, you can only ever send iMessages. If you're using an iPhone, however, you can send both iMessages and standard SMS/MMS messages as well. (You need that in order to contact people who don't use Apple phones, including people on regular feature phones.)

To make it easier to tell the difference, Apple color codes all iMessages with blue bubbles, and all SMS/MMS messages with green bubbles. If you send a message and the bubble around it is blue, you're using iMessage. If the bubble is green, you're using SMS/MMS. If iMessage is offline, your iPhone may try to send over SMS/MMS, so keep an eye on it if you want to avoid charges, especially international charges outside of any texting plan you might have.

4. Sending an iMessage on iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad

Once you're set up, you're ready to go. If you've ever sent a text message with your iPhone, you already know how to send an iMessage -- it uses the same Messages app. If you're brand new to the iPhone, or to iPod or iPad, here's how it's done.

➡Launch the Messages app from the Home screen
➡Tap the new message button in the top right.

➡Tap the blue "+" buttonin the upper right hand corner to choose which contact you want to iMessage.
➡Scroll through your contacts and tap on the phone numberor Apple ID email addressyou'd like to send an iMessage to.

➡If your contact is using an iMessage-enabled device, the send button will turn blue**. You may also notice that you can start typing someone's name in the 'to' field and a blue bubble will auto-populate next to addresses or phone numbers that are iMessage ready.

➡If your contact isn't using iMessage, but you're using their phone number, the send button will turn green**. You can still seen the message, but it will use SMS/MMS instead of iMessage
If your contact isn't using iMessage and you're sending to their Apple ID email address, you'll see a redbubble around their name with an "X" next to it indicating that it's not a valid iMessage address.

➡Type in your message and tap send.

That's it! You've just sent an iMessage from iOS!

EXPERT TIPS

1. Quickly Send Out as Text Message Instead of An iMessage Directly From Messages App On iPhone

Now, iMessage does one problem I’ve noticed over the past few months, and it’s a big problem considering what type of user you are: if the recipient is a registered iMessage user but is not connected to Wi-Fi or don't have cellular data activated then your iMessage will remain stuck in limbo for extended periods of time before your iOS device decides to send it out as a text message. This has been a source of miscommunication for many (including me) and, luckily, we’ve come across a workaround for it, and it’s a very genius method which we never knew existed before.

I have a handy tip and here’s how it works: if you send out an iMessage but it does not show “Delivered” under blue ellipse, you can double tap or tap and hold the message until you see an option that says Send as Text Message. Tapping that will send out the same message through your cellular network. How simple was that?

This doesn’t work during the time when you see a Sending message in the navigation bar, so if you have questionable cellular data coverage you’ll have to wait for a bit.

I personally never knew I could manually send a text message (save for turning off Wi-Fi and cellular data) so this tip is pretty useful for me. And to be quite honest, it’s a very, very handy technique to send out a message to a concerned recipient if you have something important pending on your list. I hope you find it useful as well.

2. Enable Hidden Debug Settings

There are a host of hidden debug settings in iOS that developers, security researchers, hackers, and others use to analyze data and fix errors. While most normal users won’t care to look through their iMessage logs, the more inquisitive may feel dangerous enough to try.
What you do with that information is entirely up to you, but there’s definitely some room for learning and exploration here.

To enable the debuggers, load this page on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch and click each link below, then click “Install” to download a profile to the corresponding debugger:

▶iMessage Debugger
▶FaceTime Debugger
▶Bluetooth Debugger

Once you’ve installed, the new diagnostic settings will appear under each associated section of the iOS Settings app. You export logs to be examined in tools like Apple’s own Xcode for Mac. You’ll need to sync your device with iTunes and then look in Library/Logs/MobileDevice to find the log data.

These can easily be removed afterwards by going to Settings > General > Profiles

No jailbreak is required to use these, but thanks to the renowned jailbreaker Chronic for bringing the debuggers to the public.

3. Sync iMessage to all iDevices

Having all of your iMessage conversations sync across your iPhone / iPad / iPod / iMac automatically allows for a seamless experience when frequently switching between devices.
So, let's how to ensure your messages will be synced, at least till iOS 6 not come.

The thing is you have to Make Sure to set your e-mail address as your Caller ID in iPhone. Doing so will allow you to send and receive iMessages from your e-mail address, instead of your phone number. You will still receive an iMessage sent to your phone number, but when you reply it will be sent from your e-mail address.
you will need to add the same e-mail address you added on your iPhone to all other iOS devices and then set that as the Caller ID, the same way we did on the iPhone.

That's all there is to it. Going forward, your iMessage conversations should sync between your iPad and iPhone (or iPod Touch) almost instantly, assuming they are both connected to some sort of cellular or Wi-Fi network.

4. Group Messaging

You can do group messaging in iMessage. This is as easy as creating an iMessage session and adding all the users you want to include in the chat. Again, they must have iMessage, so this may not be all that commonly used until all your friends have the service.

5. Send Read Receipts/ Know Indicators/ Quick Message Tips

As mentioned earlier in the message settings you can find an option "Send Read Receipts" by enabling this the sender of the message know when you read the message. This is quiet handy when a continuous conversation going on.

Another cool thing about iMessage is the indicators that let you know that both users are on the service. The speech bubbleswill be blue and it will say iMessage in the input field. This is nice, because you can also know whether or not you are using standard text instead of iMessage (when Send as SMS option on).

How to SECURE against e-mail HACKiNG (Hotmail & Yahoo! Mail)

Friends yesterday we talked about how to secure all around Google Mail (gmail), we continue the same with Hotmail & Yahoo! Mail today.

HOTMAIL

Hotmail (now Microsoft Outlook), the free webmail service from Microsoft, includes various security features that can help protect you from spam/fraud & hacking. Today i guide you how to configure Hotmail’s new security features to improve the overall security of the email account.

Setup Trusted PC

Hotmail use a unique method "Trusted PC" for securing your identity. For this you need to use the Windows Live Essentials package and verify the computer you are using as reliable by sign in. “Trusted PC” is a unique new proof that lets you link your Hotmail account with one or more of your personal computers. Then, if you ever need to regain control of your account by resetting your password, you simply/only have to use the trusted computer and Hotmail will know you are the legitimate owner. It’s a great feature for those who are really paranoid about email security.

Setup Trusted PC by following steps:-

Step 1. Go to Windows Live Essentials & Download the installer. After running the installer it will ask you to install full or customized (Photo Gallery/Writer/Movie Maker/Messenger etc.). You can choose what you want & click Install.

Step 2.After installation finish a windows live log-in window appeared. If not appeared then go to C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Installer\wlstartup.exe & then run the file it will open the log in window. In this window log in with your hotmail ID and select the below option "Make This My Trusted PC.." after selecting radio button of "Remember my ID and Password".

Step 3. Load and log into the Hotmail website as usual but use only Internet Explorer.

Step 4. Click on your name or photo at the upper right corner of the main Hotmail homepage, and choose Account. Now under overview tab you find Edit security info under "Password and Security info".

Step 5. Now in Security Info tab you will see your PC name registered as Trusted PC. You have done it.

If you didn't see this message instead showing message of Install windows live essentials under Trusted PC tab then you need to enable "windows live sign in helper plug in".

Now when you need to regain or reset you password just go to reset password link on your Trusted PC.

The new password reset proofs give users more flexibility when reseting passwords and recovering accounts. To bad the trusted PC proof is currently limited to the Windows operating system, and there to users who have Live Essentials installed.

Enable Timed Expired Password

In my professional career, I have seen, or heard of, a number of cases of exposure of password information. Sometimes it’s as simple as a departing employee who knows far too much information and may not be trusted, or as mind-boggling as a team sharing a list of important passwords, and one of the team members losing the list.

If cybercriminals hack into a Hotmail account, they can send messages that look like they originate from a trusted source. And since webmail providers have this peculiar habit of giving all kinds of hints to remind you of the email address where the password recovery link has been sent, use an uncommon, custom domain or corporate email address that is hard to guess and hack into.

4. Setup SMS Alerts

Go to your account settings and add your mobile number to receive SMS alerts. Once that’s set up, Google/Hotmail/Yahoo etc. will send you the password reset code whenever somebody tries to reset your password. Alternatively, if you are a smartphone user, you can rely on these SMS alerts and disable password recovery via email altogether. Email accounts are always vulnerable to a hacker from a remote place but your mobile phone is not. Yahoo & Gmail provides the same feature free. Hotmail has a similar feature but is not supported in a lot of countries.

5. Be Sensible with your Security Question?

Ok. There’s absolutely no point in having the security question, “My favorite doggy”, and posting pics of you and your poodle with images titled “Rolling with Rosy” on Facebook and Twitter. A lot of personal information is available online, thanks to social networks. On being the weakest links in the email security chain, security questions rank ahead of weak passwords. It’s nice to be an open book but select a question from those stapled pages and blacked out lines.

6. Be safer when you use a Public Computer

When you sign in to email from a public computer, like those at airports, coffee shops, and Internet cafes, you can now use a single-use code to sign in. A single-use code is like a disposable password that you use only once. That means that you do not have to type your password into a computer that might be controlled by a cybercriminal.

To get a single-use code, click Sign in with a single-use code, and Hotmail/Gmail or others who offer will send a one-time use authentication code to a cell phone or another email address that you've already given them. You can opt to use the one-time code, instead of your password, to access your account on a public computer.

7. Login Regularly

Last but not the least, even if a hacker gets hold of the answer to your security question, they cannot use it immediately to reset the password and break into your email account. Password reset with security question is possible only after 24 hours of your account being inactive after receiving the password reset instructions. So for once, checking your mail regularly is a good thing. Also, it will help reset the Hotmail account’s expiry date. Unfortunately Hotmail and Yahoo do not have this useful restriction in place.

This is a truly appalling story from inside the Apple universe. A hacker managed to get into the iCloud, wipe the iPhone, iPad of the account holder, even cancel their GMail account and…

Tech reporter Mat Honan's iCloud account was compromised on Friday, wreaking havoc on both his personal machines as well as Gizmodo's Twitter feed, and it was discovered on Sunday that Apple tech support was partly to blame for the breach.

The hack was first thought to be a simple brute force attack on Honan's seven-digit alphanumeric iCloud password, which he has used for "years and years," though in the process of reconfiguring accounts it was confirmed that the issue wasn't a password, but the "social engineering" of an Apple tech support employee.

Amazon and Apple clearly need to institute security policy changes to better protect their users.

And Honan made mistakes of his own, most notably not backing up his Mac regularly. But the hackers’ initial entry point into Honan’s digital life was through, of all things, the “forgot password” functionality offered by Gmail. When they first plunked Honan’s email address into that form, Gmail displayed a redacted version of Honan’s MobileMe account: m••••n@me.com. (which left only few imagination to hacker).

So friends, what this all is simple social engineering & some loop hole in account reset policies. But this can be happen with me/you/anybody even after policies changes, so we need to secure ourself before putting finger on the email clients.

Google Mail

Honan has plenty of “if only's” on his mind, but one biggie—to quote Honan’s story for Wired, is this: If he “had used two-factor authentication for Gmail, everything would have stopped here.”

Understand 2-Step Verification

First, let’s clarify what 2-step verification actually means. In Google’s case, it works this way: If you enable 2-step verification, when you next log in to your Gmail account, you’ll first proceed as you always do—by providing your username and password. But before you get to your inbox, Google will next demand a separate code.

Of course, you won’t know what the code is offhand. Thus, for the second factor of authenticating that you really are who you’re claiming to be, Google will send a text message to your phone containing the six-digit code to use. (As we’ll discuss later, there are numerous other options for getting a six-digit code.)

Only after you’ve provided that code you gain access to your inbox.

On the whole, the process sounds simple. And for simply logging in to your webmail account, it is. But added complexities can crop up, since some apps don’t yet support two-factor authentication—like, say, Mail on the Mac or iOS (but you create a separate access code for each app). That makes configuring Google’s two-factor authentication a bit more complicated.

Set up Google’s 2-Step Verification

Step 1. Go to Google.com and log in.

Click on your name or photo at the upper right corner of the main Google homepage, and choose Account.

Step 2. Then choose Security from the navigation options at left.

Step 3. Now you can see the option you’re looking for: Click the Edit button along side 2-Step Verification.

At this point, Google will most likely ask you to login again. That’s for additional security. Enter your password, and click Sign In.

Step 4. Now, Google start a 4 step setup wizard for 2-Step Verification.

It will ask you to provide the phone number of the device you’d like to use. It’s understandable if you’re hesitant to give out your phone number, but note that Google promises it “will only use this number for account security.” You can provide a landline or a cell phone number, and you can choose whether Google should send codes to that number as text messages or via a voice call.

After you click to proceed, you should receive the text message (or phone call) within a few seconds. Type that code into the webpage and click to continue.

At this stage, you’re nearly done with the initial setup. Google will want to confirm whether it should “trust this computer.” That setting is a bit misnamed; essentially, if you leave it enabled, logging in to Google on that Mac/PC with that browser won’t add the second step for the next 30 days—unless you delete your browser’s cookies.

Now google ask you for confirm "Turn on 2-Step Verification", Confirm & you done it.

Noting Beans: You really shouldn’t use your Google Voice number, since you could get stuck in a Catch-22 situation where you can’t access your Google Voice account to get the code you need to log in to your Google Voice account.

Getting 2-Step Verification code for Apps

Now, just when you feel like you’re finished, Google throws up a gotcha: Some apps can’t support verification codes. If you use a third-party email app to check your Gmail account via POP or IMAP, for example, that app won’t be configured to prompt you for the second step code.

Thus, for email apps—and Google Reader-using apps, and Calendar or iCal, and so on—you’ll need to configure special, one-off passwords instead. You can generate as many of these so-called application-specific passwords as you’d like.

Step 1. Use same step as above till you reach the Security tab.

Step 2. In Security tab click on Edit button against "Authorizing applications and sites". As usual google ask for password for your authentication.

Step 3. You see a complete listing of Apps & Sites you already given access to use your account. Below this you find " Step 1 of 2: Generate new application-specific password".

You provide a label (for your own records), like, iPhone Mail, and then Google presents you with a 16-character password. You can never retrieve that password again, but it doesn’t matter. Don’t bother jotting it down. Copy and paste it (or painstakingly retype it) wherever it needs to go, and then click the Done button.

If you use more than one Mac, consider going specific with your application-specific password names, like Adium (MBPro) and Adium (MBAir). Because Google lets you revoke any application-specific password at any time, you can log in and revoke access to the apps on your MacBook Air should that get stolen, without giving yourself extra work on your MacBook Pro.

Don’t worry that you might be forgetting about an app or there password. You’ll remember that you need to generate unique application-specific passwords for those as soon as those apps start prompting you to re-enter your password.

Ensure Always Access Your Account

Once you’ve configured all the necessary application-specific passwords, there are a few additional important steps to take.

Step 1. Go back to your Google profile, click again on Security, and then click to Edit your Two-step Verification settings. (Surprise! You’ll get prompted to confirm your password again.)

Step 2. Near the top of the screen, look for the Backup Phones setting and click on Add a Phone Number. There, you can set other phones—your home phone, another cell—as backup numbers. That way, if you lose your phone for any reason, you’re not locked out of your Google accounts; you can receive your codes on the backup phones instead. (Presumably, once you did log in, you’d immediately go to your settings and change your two-step verification number.)

Step 3. Once you’ve set up some backup numbers, find the Printable Backup Codes option and click Show Backup Codes.

Doing so generates a list of ten eight-digit verification codes that you can use in situations where you don’t have access to your phone, or where your phone has no service (Like, going abroad).

Each of these codes can be used only once. Google suggests printing out the list and keeping it in your wallet. You might—might!—consider saving the list in Dropbox or somewhere else in the cloud, so that you can always get to it even if you’re without your phone or access to your Google account. Obviously, if someone then figures out your Google password and also breaks into your separate cloud account, they could then break all the way into your Google account, too. You can generate a list of ten new backup verification codes whenever you’d like, but doing so invalidates all of your old ones.

Google Authenticator

Instead of relying on text messages or phone calls, you can instead install the free Google Authenticator App. With the app installed, you can generate verification codes even when you have no active network connection. That is, the app can generate codes even when there’s no Wi-Fi or cellular signal available for your phone.

First-time setup of the app is a bit confusing. Ignore the login form, and instead tap the Scan Barcode button at the bottom of the screen. (If it’s not there, tap the Plus (+) button first.)

Over in your Google Two-Step settings, find the Mobile Application section, and click on iPhone. (There are also apps—and thus links—for Android and Blackberry phones.) Point your phone at the QR code that Google presents on screen, and the app will configure itself for your Google account.

Now, when you need a verification code, launch the app, and it will present you with a new one to use.

Two-step verification is annoying, a bit tedious to set up, and makes more work out of the seemingly simple act of logging in. Here is the google tech guy tell you the whole process with ease (it has some outdated interface, so my guide is more updated against that).

Of course, locking your doors or buckling your seatbelt takes a little extra energy, too. We make tradeoffs to ensure our safety, and digital safety is increasingly becoming just as important as physical security. If you rely on Google’s services, two-step authentication is probably worth the hassle.

How to SURVIVE with a Smartphone in EMERGENCY (BUSTED)

Whether in a boat, on a plane, traveling through Africa, taking a road trip, or backpacking the Rockies, our cell phone has become a regular piece of Every Day Carry.
I think it’s pretty safe to say that we will probably have our cell phone with us if ever faced with a tragic survival situation. It’s also not hard to imagine that it might not be working. Regardless of the reason, a broken or busted cell phone is STILL an amazing collection of pieces and parts that, with a little insight and creativity, can be used to help meet a surprising number of basic survival needs.

How do I know this? I busted open a handful of cell phones to find out there is so many thing can be useful in emergency situation.

FIRST THING FIRST TEAR DOWN

SURVIVAL SIGNAL MIRROR

Each of the cell phones i cracked open had metallic, mirror-like layers of material behind the screens. These can function as a perfect survival signal mirror. The reflection from a mirror can be seen for miles by land, air, or water rescue crews. This has saved the lives of many survivors in history. You can even use the reflection from a bright moon to make a flash at night. I made a more workable signal mirror by “gluing” the reflective pieces to a hunk of bark with some pine sap.

Aiming an improvised signal mirror requires a little finesse. Simply hold up your peace sign and place your target (the rescue crew) in-between your fingers. Then, flash the sun’s reflection across your fingers. You can see the reflection on your fingers which ensures you are also flashing your target.

COMPASS

Most speakers (if not all of them) contain a magnet. All of the cell phones i opened contained a magnet with the speaker portion of the phone. All of the phones also contained MANY little pieces of wire that i could magnetize; it must be a ferrous metal wire – copper will not work. With these two items you can make a very accurate improvised compass.

Sweep the magnet across the metal wire in the SAME direction 10 or so times. Make a mental note of the direction you are sweeping the magnet. This is the end of the wire that will point NORTH. You can then FLOAT this metal wire in a small pool of water on a small leaf or shaving of wood. It must be a completely undisturbed pool of water with no current so as to not affect the results. The wire will align itself with the NORTH-SOUTH line with the end you noted above pointing north (in the Northern Hemisphere). Right of North is East and Left of North is West. Now you know direction.

SPEAR POINTS & CUTTING TOOLS

Each cell phone also had a circuit board. I used the circuit board from a SmartPhone to make two very useful items to a survivor. I noticed that when i abraded the edge of the circuit board against a smooth rock it actually ground down to a fairly decent cutting edge. I used half of the circuit board to make a useful cutting tool which i used to gather and cut some natural bark cordage and also scrape a pile of very fine fire tinder shavings from a dried Mullein stalk. Both of these items are incredibly useful to a survivor. This crude cutting tool can be used for a variety of other survival chores as well.

I then shaped the other half of the circuit board into an “arrowhead” spear point which I lashed onto the end of a willow shaft using the natural cordage i gathered. I abraded the edges of this point against the stone to sharpen it. I’ve made many make-shift gigs and spears in my life, and i have no doubt that this point can do some serious damage – either in self-defense or in food procurement.

MAKE FIRE

Everyone has seen the old steel wool trick. Steel wool ignites very quickly when brushed across the positive and negative terminals on a cell phone battery. But, when’s the last time you saw a wild steel wool tree? I seriously doubt you are going to have some steel wool on-hand in a survival situation.

However, I used thin wire that I found inside a cell phone to connect (and short circuit) the cell phone battery. It almost instantly turned red hot when i touch it simultaneously to the + and – terminals. I had to peel off the battery’s outer coating to do this. Make sure you have your fire tinder ready because it doesn’t last long and is almost certainly a one shot chance. This red hot wire can be used to ignite natural found tinder such as the below seed pod or a spare SURVIVAL TAMPON.

I also tried to magnify the sun’s rays using the lens from a phone’s camera but was unable to get anything to smoke or ignite. I was pretty stoked about this possibility but couldn’t get it to work. If you are not able to get fire by the above then Bear Grylls method should worked but it's dangerous to some extent to your hand & eyes so take care of it.

FISHING TIME

As I looked at the pile of cell phone parts in front of me, some looked surprisingly similar to fish tackle lures, so I went to work and quickly created these four fishing lures.

The most basic lure is the one marked GORGE. This is a classic survival fishing hook and rather than hooking a fish, it “gorges” itself in the fish’s throat. It must be baited in parallel with the fish line as shown below. Once the fish swallows the bait and the line is pulled taught, the gorge pivots on the line and “gorges” in the throat. I counted as many as 20 gorge lures in one phone. With enough cordage you could set out several fishing lines to work for you.

HUNTING

Do you use wired headphones with your phone?

If so, this use might come in handy. A small game survival snare can be made using the wire from a pair of headphones. This wire can also be used for a variety of other projects that might require cordage. Setting snares allows you to focus on other survival priorities while they hunt for you. Instead of the headphones silently playing your music, let them silently hunt for you.

It goes without saying that your cell phone should only be dismantled as an absolute last resort option in a survival scenario. Even when there seems to be no signal, your phone might be able to register a ping from nearby cell phone towers which can be used by first responders to track your general location. But, if it’s already busted, one of these tricks just might save your life. What other survival uses can you think of for a busted cell phone?

Keep your Notifications for your eyes only (Private)

Has this happened to you? You’re out and about with friends, and a text message (or iMessage) & mail hits your iPhone. Being a serious iPhone user and Tweeter, of course, you’ve left your iPhone out on the tabletop. Unfortunately, the text message that shows up on your screen isn’t very flattering to the friend/girl friend sitting immediately to your left. She sees it, gets upset, storms off. Nobody wins.

With a quick trip to Settings, however, you can prevent this tale of tears and keep your iMessages for your eyes only.

Here’s How

Step 1 Hop onto your iPhone or iPad or iPod touch and launch the Settings app with a tap.

Step 2 Tap on Notifications, and you will see a complete list of app currently under notifications.

Step 3then scroll down to the required app like Message/Mail/IM & Tap on it you will see a complete notification option available for you.

Step 4 Toggle Show Preview Tap this OFF.

Now, when a message shows up, it will just show who it’s from, not what they said. Which, you know, could be handy.

If you don’t even want to see that much, toggle the View in Lock Screen to OFF as well, and they won’t pop up in the lock screen, though if you’re using your device, and have the banners and notification sounds ON, you’ll get them. Just not in the Lock Screen.

This should help you avoid a lot of potentially embarrassing situations created by the ubiquity of communications that we are all starting to take for granted. Or at least keep your private messages to yourself.

How to Stop accidental in-App Purchases or Undesirable iTunes Bill

Friends, After the Russian hacker break IAP (in-App Purchases) the IAP take heat but did you find out what the reason behind this hack.

The suit was filed by Garen Meguerian on behalf of a number of others in April 2012. Here is some extract from the appeal filled by the parents:-

"children were able to purchase 'game currencies' without their parents' knowledge or authorization while playing game applications, provided by Apple and advertised as free."
"highly addictive," with specific reference to the Smurf Village app as a "bait-and-switch" type game in which the app is free, but the 1,000 in-app credits offered cost $59"
"The parents claim they were unaware that purchases could be made without re-entering the password, which resulted in children charging the parents' accounts in amounts ranging from $99.99 to $338.72"

In-App Purchases are no joke. The App Store makes it quick and easy to buy and download new software for your iOS device. But for the parents of iPhone iPad or iPod touch-toting kids, that process might be a little bit too easy. Stories of kids racking up outrageous charges on their parents’ credit cards have grabbed headlines lately, and while Apple has responded to concerns from parents and politicians about the ease of accidental purchases, some of the burden still falls on you to secure an iOS device before handing it off to your child even some time elder also mistakenly buy IAP.

A: PUT A HIGH SECURITY PASSCODE

If your iPad or iPhone winds up in your kids’ hands on occasion, there are a few simple steps you can take to avoid unwanted purchases. First, choose a strong password. If your password is something your child can easily guess, then any other steps you might take will be of limited effectiveness.

In addition, remember that there’s a 15-minute window after you make a purchase from the App Store or iTunes Store during which your password doesn't need to be re-entered and a similar 15-minute window for in-app purchases (You can edit it by enabling restriction which I tell you below). Be careful when you give your child your device.

As for parents with kids who have iOS devices of their own, there are a couple of options. One alternative is to set it up so your child can’t purchase anything from the App Store or iTunes Store. If you favor a somewhat more independent approach, you can also choose to manage your child’s purchases by setting up a monthly allowance.

We’ll walk you through both of those processes below. (Note that while many of images are from an iPhone, the same instructions will hold true for an iPod touch or iPad)

B: DISABLE in-APP PURCHASES ALTOGETHER

If you’re a parent about to give any of your children their own iOS device, your first stop should be Settings -> General -> Restrictions. Not only does it allow you to disable many of the device’s built-in apps and features—including Safari, FaceTime, location-based features, and more—but it also lets you choose what kind of media your child can access. (More on that below)

Tap Enable Restrictions and you'll be prompted to enter a 4-digit code.
Here’s how to entirely disable purchases from the App Store and iTunes Store as well as in-app purchases.

Step 1: Enable Restrictions Navigate to Settings -> General -> Restrictions. On this screen, tap Enable Restrictions at the top. You’ll be prompted to enter and verify a four-digit code. Remember to pick something that your child isn’t likely to guess: 1234 might be a fine combination for your luggage, but you probably want something a little harder to figure out for your iOS device.

This code is separate from the one you use to unlock your phone, but keep in mind that if you choose to use the same code in both places and tell your child the unlock code, they will also be able to disable or change the restrictions as well.

Step 2: Disable the App Store and iTunes Store Once you’ve enabled restrictions, you’ll have plenty of options to choose from. If you’re worried about your child installing applications, simply slide the Installing Apps switch to Off and the App Store will be removed entirely from the device (previously purchased apps will continue to work fine). If you also want to restrict their ability to buy media from the iTunes Store, you can also slide the iTunes switch to Off and that ability will likewise vanish.

Step 3: Disable in-app purchases Even if the App Store is disabled, your child may still be able to access in-app purchases from apps that you’ve already installed. Fortunately, it’s a simple matter to disable those as well: just scroll down to the Allowed Content section and tap the switch next to In-App Purchases so it says Off. Now, when they go to the in-app purchases section of any app that offers them, no additional purchase options will be listed.

Just below this tab there is also one option to Require Password after 15minutes or immediately if you want in-App Purchases then this option is your chance to stopping accidental purchases.

Step 4: Select any Restrictions Even if you’re giving your kids the ability to buy their own apps, you may still want to have a say in what kind of programs they’re buying. Once again, you’ll visit Settings -> General -> Restrictions on their iOS device. If you haven’t already, tap Enable Restrictions, and choose a four-digit passcode.

Under the Allowed Content header you can choose the appropriate rating levels for each of music and podcasts, movies, TV shows, and apps. In each case—except for music and podcasts—you can pick which ratings are allowed, or choose to completely disable all of the media of that type. For music and podcasts, you can simply choose whether or not Explicit material is allowed. And make sure to select the rating system for the country of the App Store you frequently use.

C: SET UP an iTUNES ALLOWANCES

If your child is of an age where you’re comfortable giving them the ability to purchase some apps on their own, an iTunes allowance is an excellent way to control their spending. You can set up a separate iTunes account for them, complete with a monthly limit of how much they can spend—and you can even restrict it to age-appropriate apps.

In order to set up an allowance, you’ll need your own Apple ID, and it will need to be linked to a credit card. If you have your own iOS device or buy media from the iTunes Store, you already have an account. Keep in mind that since the iTunes Store and App Store use the same account, the allowance will apply to purchases from both, unless you disable one or the other of the stores as per the instructions above.

Step 1: Buy an iTunes Gift While logged into your iTunes account, open up the iTunes application on your Mac or PC and click on the iTunes Store option in the left sidebar. From the front page of the iTunes Store, click on the Buy iTunes Gifts link in the Quick Links box along the right edge.

On the subsequent page, scroll down until you see Allowances and click the “Set up an allowance now➡” link.

Step 2: Set up the Allowance Fill out the form on the following screen by entering your name, the name of your child, and by selecting the amount of the allowance—options include $10, $20, $30, $40, or $50. Remember that this amount will be charged to your own credit card each month. You can choose to have the amount charged as of the first day of the next month, or charged immediately and then again on the first day of the next month. One piece of good news: if there are any unused funds left over at the end of a month, they will roll over to the next month; that means your child can always save their pennies for more expensive purchases.

With an iTunes allowance, you can specify how much money you want to give your child each month.
If your child already has an Apple ID, be sure and enter it here. If they don’t have one, you can choose to create a new account here. Remember that when asked for a payment method for the new Apple ID, you can choose “None.” If you enter a credit card, anything beyond the allowance that you set up will still be charged.

When you’re done, just click Continue. You’ll be asked to confirm the details and then purchase the allowance. Recipients will get an e-mail letting them know that you’ve purchased an allowance for them, as well as how much it’s for; if you chose to have the billing started on the first of the next month, they’ll be notified again when the money’s available.

Step 3: Managing Allowances You can review your allowances at any time by going to your account settings in the iTunes Store and clicking Manage Allowances. You’ll see a list of all your current allowances, along with the ability to suspend, remove, or change the amount for any of them. You can also create additional allowances from here if you so choose.

While there are plenty of challenges facing parents in this high-tech age, managing your kids’ online buying habits shouldn’t have to be one of them. With these simple tips, you should at least be able to make sure that your children don’t spend you out of house and home by buying cartloads of Smurfberries.

Force iOS to use YouTube site instead of App

iOS Fanboys, The default YouTube app that comes with iOS was great back in 2007, but it hasn’t seen a significant update in years and is lacking many features compared to the newer mobile YouTube website (www.m.youtube.com) that Google launched two years ago in 2010.

Today i point out that how you can stop iOS from launching the native YouTube app when you click on a YouTube link, and force it to use the superior YouTube mobile website instead.
But first you have to know what benefits you get by doing this.

1) Faster streaming as well HQ compared to you tube app & more detailed options & about video.

2) More social connection like Facebook & Google+. (check below comparison)

To do enable YouTube site instead of App, simply disable YouTube under Settings > General > Restrictions (you need to "Enable Restrictions" by providing 4digit code).

Once you’ve done that, all YouTube links you click on in an iOS browser will open YouTube’s mobile website; the native YouTube app will also be hidden. If you decide you want to revert these changes and go back to using the YouTube app for those links, go to the Restrictions settings and toggle YouTube back on.

UPDATE: In iOS 6 apple remove dedicated YouTube App as they remove Map & Navigation services from Google. It's also means that now Google create a dedicated YouTube app which have more features than now. App launched & can get it here.

Have you Noticed: If you look closely you'll see that the Map icon is actually where the apple headquarters are in Cupertino, California.

Known as 1 Infinite Loop for a continuous oval, it has been the campus of apple since 1993. An infinite loop is also a common type of programming error, so is apt as a name for the road.

DISCOVER hidden features of iOS stock Apps

Friends, now you're probably mastered your favorite stock iOS apps such as Camera & Safari with my earlier posts. But other apps that come preloaded on your iOS device include features you may not have discovered.

1) Be Scientific - CALCULATOR

A surprising number of iPhone users don't realize that the built-in Calculator app actually offers a scientific calculator, too. To access more advanced functions, simply rotate your iPhone from portrait to landscape mode.

2) Make Ringtones through your Own Voice/ Nature Sound - VOICE MEMO

You can use the Voice Memo app to make short recordings for yourself, but you can also use it to create custom ringtones, with relatively little effort. And remember, you can use your ringtones for other audio alerts besides incoming phone calls.

Fire up the app and record your new ringtone. Once you've finished creating your masterpiece, email it to yourself. Tap the list button at the bottom-right corner to get to your list of memos. If you want to trim the recording, tap the right arrow to get to the Info screen and then tap Trip Memo. Once you're happy with your recording, tap the Share Button, and then Email.

Trim your memo as necessary & email it

Download the recording on your Mac or PC. It will sport the .m4a extension. Rename the file to so that it instead ends with .m4r. Double-click your new .m4r file or drag it on to iTunes, and the software will now recognize it as a ringtone, which you can in turn sync back to your iPhone.

3) Get Daily Quotes - STOCKS

The Stocks app is another one that offers an alternative view when you rotate it onto landscape mode. You'll see a wider chart of of stock price over time, and you can adjust the charts range anywhere from one day up to two years. Tap and hold on the chart in that view, and you can drag your finger to see exact stock prices on specific dates. Swipe across the entire chart, and you'll advance to the next stock on your list.

4) Hourly Forecast - WEATHER

Tap on the Weather app's interface, and you'll expose an hourly breakdown for the rest of the current day's forecast. And don't forget you can swipe on the current weather conditions in Notification Center to show the five-day forecast instead.

5) Fall asleep listening your Music/ Video - CLOCK

You'll already know that the Clock app can show you the current time in countries around the world, schedule alarms, set timers and work as a stopwatch. But despite its utilitarian focus, the app has a secret feature up its virtual sleeves: you can use it as a sleep timer for your music (or a video).
If you choose Stop Playing, the timer silences your iPhone, instead of ringing out, once time's up.

With this selected, your iOS iDevice will stop whatever music or video is currently playing when the timer runs out.

Shrink your iPhone DATA BILL Smartly

As the average webpage/images/file on the internet has grown, most folks' monthly allowance for mobile bandwidth has gotten smaller. (Exceptions: Sprint users and those grandfathered into an unlimited plan.) Today, it's extremely easy to use a gigabyte of data in a month. The quantity will just keep rising—and with it, the potential for massive monthly bills.

So what are the best ways to put the brakes on the neediest data hogs? Here are the Ten most effective changes you can make to get the of your daily data usage.

1. Connect to Wi-Fi Whenever Possible

Duh. This is obvious. Common sense. Idiots already do this. But for the sake of posterity, being connected to Wi-Fi as much as you can is the quickest way to remedy your data consumption problem. If the places you frequent most—home, work, friends' places, bus stops, train stations, bars, cafes—have open connections, you should hop on those. They're the places you'll inevitably pull your phone out at and finding those networks is something you should be conscious of at all times.

Also there do many apps available in app store for finding nearest free WiFi on the go. Like WiFi Finder.

2. iGgnore the iDiot Box

Also a mildly obvious idea, but streaming video is the number one culprit when it comes to encroaching on your monthly data allotment. A five-minute YouTube video sucks up 5-10 megabytes. A single 22-minute TV episode on Netflix takes away 100 megabytes (at least). Movies, even more. Simply put, don't do it unless you're on wi-fi. And if you must, don't make a habit of it.

3. Listen LOCALLY

Yes, the average music file can be smaller than the average video file of the same length. But you probably listen to music while you're out of the house much more frequently than you watch videos, so it can be more of a data suck if you're not careful. If you stream something like Pandora or Spotify on your drive to work every day, an hour of music will eat up 50-70 megabytes of data (and that's not even at the best audio quality).

Here's the solution: Unlike streaming audio, you can cache music to your phone if you pay for a streaming music service. Save a few albums to your phone before you leave the house, and listen to those while you're out. Plus, then, you don't have to deal with the hassle of dead zones and music cutting out.

4. Be Anti-SOCiAL

Many of us have been trained to be constantly checking our social networks. Every so often, we run through our Facebook, our Twitter, our Instagram, our Tumblr, etc., etc.

What seems like a fairly lightweight activity can actually consume 5-10 megabytes of data each time you check into one of those services (especially if you're clicking links and photos). Do that a few times a day over 3G for a month, and you could be wasting a couple of gigs of data on this alone. Instead of going full bore with these when you're not on wi-fi, maybe pick one or two essential social networks that you have to check frequently.

5. Read it LATER

When you come across a link that isn't essential reading right that second, bookmark it or favorite it for later (that could be a few megabytes saved right there). Same goes for photos, though these are somewhat unavoidable on Facebook and Tumblr. This nearly halved the amount of data I was using with each run through a social network.

6. Lose the Extra Page WEiGHT

If you frequently fire up your web browser on the go, consider keeping an app like Opera Mini handy. To keep file sizes low, Opera Mini will render and compress pages on its servers before sending it over to your phone. Whereas a fully rendered page in Safari will consume 2-3 megabytes, the average Opera Mini page only weighs in at 200-300 kilobytes.

7. SHARiNG is Not Caring

It's great to be able to share your photos on those social networks you spend all your time checking, but does every goddam thing you eat need to be uploaded in real time? Instead of furiously rushing to get your duckfaced mug up on your wall, just wait until you get home (or at least onto a wi-fi network), before you start uploading media. The average Instagram/Twitter upload consumes around 200kb of data. Sending a photo to a friend over iMessage can use up 0.5-1.5 megabytes. Videos can use up tens of megabytes. If you can help it, snap now, and upload later.

8. Trust Your NATURAL SENSE of Direction

According to Verizon, turn-by-turn navigation uses an average of 5 megabytes of data for every hour it's operational. Most of us don't need turn-by-turn navigation for our daily routines, but some of us (especially in a city like LA), are addicted to it for everything else. If you're really desperate to cut down on data usage, relying on an emailed or printed list of directions could save you a 100 megabytes of data in a month—not insane, but helpful nonetheless.

9. PULL Your Email, Don't PUSH

This is really for the most desperate of people. Email probably won't suck up thaaaaaaat much data for people, and for those of you who do receive lots and lots of email, you probably can't afford to ignore it. But still, you can opt to fetch your email manually instead of having it automatically pushed to your phone, which can save a couple hundred kilobytes here and there. If it's the end of the month and you're on the brink of going over your limit, the few megabytes you potentially save here could make the difference.

10. Off Cellular Data when in WiFi

It's completely insane but true that even you are connected to WiFi your data connection still running in background and consume data (even very little). This you can know when you going to sleep and your iPhone is connected to WiFi, when you wake up in morning you see a message of showing (if enabled) charges for data consuming even you use nothing.
This is happen due to of pure connectivity as well many unknown glitches.

There is also so many apps/ settings which have option to download data only in WiFi when you toggle it, so use that features where required.

Friends, You know how to search on a specific web page in Internet Explorer/Chrome or other PC/MAC Internet browser but hardly you know or use this feature in Safari in iPhone / iPad.

It is very easy and very useful when you searching roll no. for results/searching specific name/terms on the specified page.

Here's How This Works

YOU CAN SEARCH for specific words on the page while on SAFARI with same Google search box.
To Do So, start typing in the search box and at the bottom will be the option On This Page. Tap Find"........" to find the first instance of that word.

You can then press Next button ▶ to advance to the next instance of that word or Previous button ◀ if required. This way you can quickly go to the part of the page you're looking for.

In iPad the "Find on Page" specifically provided separately attached to on screen keyboard which only finds words on the page itself. The Find on Page search box appear when you click on default search box & it search on real time basis instead of showing counter.

iii)Release your finger after the blue focus square pulsates.
iv)The square will disappear and AE/AF Lock will appear at the bottom of the screen.
v)Perfect your composure and snap the photo!

for removing lock Just tap anywhere on the screen and the AE/AF lock will go away.

The times I find this feature most helpful is when taking photos of my nice or dogs, because anytime they move, the camera wants to refocus - even if it's just a head turn. I've lost a countless number of shots because of this. Now I just trigger the AE/AF lock and snap away!
2)DIGITAL ZOOM

First of all, it's important to emphasize that the iPhone 4S is equipped with a 5x digital zoom, not optical zoom. The difference is that the lens is not capable of zooming, but the software is. So using the digital zoom on the iPhone 4S is equivalent to taking the photo without the zoom and cropping it. This greatly reduces the quality of the photo and there are very few situations where you would want to use the digital zoom.

However, since the iPhone 4S has been upgraded to an 8 megapixel camera, there is an improvement to the digital zoom over the iPhone 4. The first photo above was taken with 0x zoom and the second one was taken with 5x zoom. You can see obvious damage done to the quality of the image, but it is, admittedly, better than I was expecting. I also believe that this is an example of a situation where you might want to use the digital zoom if you wanted to, say, show your kids a picture of the duck you saw earlier in the day.

i)Touch your thumb and forefinger to the screen and pinch them together to zoom in.
ii)Spread them apart to zoom back out.

Once you've activated the zoom feature, a slider will appear giving you linear control, if you prefer it.

3)GEO TAGGING

In addition to offering further functionality when uploaded to iPhoto, or the likes of Flickr, adding a geographical “tag” to your iPhone images makes them easier to organize and view on your handset, especially if you take a lot of pics.

When first you set-up your iDevices it ask for location services, if you select that then your iPhone will store the GPS coordinates of every photo you take, so you can always easily refer back to it later. This can be great for keeping track of vacation shots, but not so great if you're posting pictures online and don't want the entire internet to know your address.

if you don't choose location services in set-up then the first time you launch the Camera app, it will ask for your permission to use your current Location. As well simply go to the “Settings” menu on your homescreen, then “General,” then “Location Services,” and toggle to the “On” option for “Camera.”

Now, any photos you take will be sorted by their location. To see this in action, go to “Photos,” select your “Camera Roll,” and along the bottom of the display you should see a “Places” option.
Hit “Places” and the phone will load up a map with red pins to denote where it is you’ve been snapping. If you tap a pin, it will tell you how many images are tagged with that location and give you the option to click through and see them.

4) HOLD STEADY

Camera shake is always problematic with compact snappers, and the iPhone’s touchscreen design, although great for other applications, does not help matters, as you have to physically tap the screen (potentially moving the camera) to take a photo.

Well, technically you don’t have to “tap” the screen. The camera button does not take the picture until you release your finger from it, so if you’re struggling with blur, press and hold your finger on the button as you compose the shot and then gently release it at the point you want to capture.

As well there is another way of taking photographs.

Click the volume up hardware button on the side of your iPhone.

5)TAKING HDR

HDR stands for High Dynamic Range and involves taking a series of pictures, one right after the other, both slightly overexposed and slightly underexposed, and combining them together to reveal more light and shadow information than a standard single-exposure photo would allow. So basically, you can see detail in the bright sky and in the shadow under the tree, rather than having one blown out or the other lost to black.

Tap the Options button at the top center of the live view screen.
Slide the HDR toggle to On.
The bottom of the screen will show HDR so you'll know it's enabled.

Note: The multiple exposures take a short amount of time to combine, so after you take an HDR photo you'll see a your iPhone say "Saving HDR". If you need to take a lot of photos quickly, you'll want to make sure HDR is set to Off.

6)CAMERA ROLL & PHOTO STREAM

Once you've taken a photo, it gets stores in your Camera Roll, and optionally your Photo Stream.

To access the Camera Roll from inside the Camera App:

Tap the Thumbnail button next to the camera button.
To access the Camera Roll from the Home screen:

i)Launch the built-in Photos app
ii)Tap the the Camera Roll tab.

Photo Stream is part of iCloud and keeps the most recent photos from your Camera Roll, up to 1000 of them and for up to 1 month, in a special album that's stored up to Apple's servers and pushed down to your other iOS 5 devices. It can also stream photos to an Apple TV 2 without keeping any local copies, and will store all your photos, without limit of number and time, in iPhoto or Aperture on Mac, and on a Windows PC.

Think of it as a photo only (no video) duplicate of all the Camera Rolls of all your iOS devices -- including photos you've saved to the Camera Roll from email and the web -- all in one place.

Unlike Camera Roll, however, you currently can't share photos from Photo Stream to specified persons (that will change with iOS 6 later this fall) That means if you take any risqué photos you don't want store online/Share with selective persons, you'll have to reset your entire Photo Stream via iCloud.com in order to get rid of them.

7) PHOTO MANAGEMENT & EDITING

You can manage your photos, including emailing, tweeting, iMessaging, deleting, creating and filing into folders, and even basic editing like red-eye removal, rotation, cropping, and auto-ehance, right in the built-in Photos app.

TIP: you can UNDO all your changes in photo by just shaking you device like UNDO/REDO text.

Now go out and shoot!

While the basic, built-in iPhone Camera app is all you really need to get started, there are several other well regarded Camera apps in the App Store. They typically provide more or better features than the built in app. Here are two of our current favorites.

2) SECOND

Open this page into your iDevice. Install these certificates (just tap on links): First,Second. The order of installing is very important! Install first certificate first, second - second.

3)THIRD

BEAUTIFUL HOLDER for Charging iPhone / iPod (Made from Lotion Bottle)

Yesterday i tell you about wireless charging that is tricky one for toddlers but today i tell you one great trick which no need speciality or can't void your warranty.

My family and I both have smart phones / iPhone And all of us have phone chargers. And that means lots of obnoxious cords. You never know when one of us may be moving phone cords around, to give our phones an extra charge while we’re chatting away……… or trying to charge our phones up before running errands or something. Needless to say, those phone cords seem to be everywhere…..and are generally in the way and hanging all over the floor.

(Okay, and how about when you’re in a hotel or visiting family/friends. There’s never a perfect place to rest
your phone while it’s charging.)

I was looking around on the internet for a solution and found phone holders on eBay. But I read some reviews and some were saying that the platform was unstable. So I thought a holder that was more cup shape would work much better. But then I wasn’t sure how I was going to sew some plastic into a cup shape. And that’s when I decided to use what I have and cut an old baby lotion bottle into the shape I needed.

It made the perfect little holder for my cell phone while it’s being charged.

And no more phone hanging down from the outlet while in this room or that room……..the cord and phone are now up off the ground, and tucked away into the little holder, while the phone drinks up a full charge.

And of course I couldn’t just leave the poor little holder alone……I had to Mod Podge some fabric right onto it for some kick. Hey, when my iPhone is happy, then I’m happy.

If you look closely, you can see that the orange print is fabric. There are edges of fabric along the bottom and then one line down the back where the fabric met up. But hardly noticeable while in use. (For a few more options……you could also spray paint it, then stencil it or use vinyl cut outs over the paint. That would be cute too.)

And my favorite part, is that I didn’t have to buy a thing. The entire holder was made from things I had on hand.

And turns out, it’s pretty useful. And not one bit of an eyesore.

Would you like to make your own Cell Phone Holder?

First of all, take a look around your house? Do you have any old plastic bottles that are just about empty? A lotion bottle, a mustard bottle, a hairspray or shampoo bottle? Whatever you choose, find one that’s more flattened rather than a circular bottle. The flattened shape will keep the bottle closer to the wall and out of the way once a cell phone is placed inside.

Now, measure your cell phone against the bottle, to be sure the bottle isn’t too big or too small.

I found that this bottle of baby lotion was the perfect size for my iphone. So I washed this out with hot water and let it air dry.

Then I held my phone up to the bottle, starting at the bottom…..and decided how high I wanted the front of the holder to be. Then I made a line with a pen across the front at that point. Then I turned the bottle around and continued the line to the back but curved the back upwards.

I cut the bottle out with some kitchen scissors but a box cutter (or exacto knife) would work too. I just have more control with scissors…….so I used them for this part. I cut along the line until I was left with my phone holder shape.

Then, I drew a curved box shape on the upper back of the bottle. Then I cut it out. (What worked best for me was using a box cutter/exacto knife with a cutting board underneath. This helped my control a ton.) Then I used sand paper to smooth out all of the edges.

Like I mentioned above……you could now try spray paining and adding vinyl or stenciling it to finish your look. Do whatever is best for you.

But here’s how I added the fabric:

First, you want to sand the surface of the whole thing. This will really help to rough it up so that the Mod Podge will stick really well in the next steps. Also, I didn’t want that blue ink to show through from the other side, so I sanded most of the lettering off too. Worked great.

Then, I cut a piece of fabric that was big enough to wrap around the phone holder and was also an inch or two taller on the top and bottom.

Then, I turned the phone holder with the front facing me, and applied a generous layer of Mod Podge to the front.

Next, place the fabric right on top, centering it where it needs to go.

Then, apply more Mod Podge around the side of the container and continue to lay the fabric down right against it, pulling tightly as you wrap. Also, be sure to pull the fabric down around the curve of the bottom of your bottle, if needs be. This will help keep the fabric flat and smooth. Use plenty of Mod Podge to aide you in this process.

When you get to the back, overlap one of the edges over the other. Make sure the fabric is smooth all the way around the bottle……and then cut a straight line up the back of the container, trimming off the excess fabric.

Then trim around the entire container, cutting off the fabric nice and close to the edge. Now, apply a nice thick layer of Mod Podge over all of the fabric. Be sure and seal around all of the edges of fabric with the Mod Podge, ensuring that the fabric won’t peel off.

Lastly, cut an oval shape (or whatever shape applies to you) to fit the bottom of the bottle. Place a layer of Mod Podge on the bottom of the bottom, place the oval shape on the bottom, then apply another coat of the Mod Podge. Now set it upside down on something tall and slender and that your container can fit on top of, so that it can dry without touching anything. (That’s a single flower vase that I’m using.)

Once it’s dry, use a box cutter/exacto knife to cut out the square-ish opening. You’ll probably need to apply more Mod Podge around the opening and allow it to dry again.

Now, don’t worry if your edges aren’t smooth and have little pieces of fabric sticking off. Use your box cutter/exacto knife and run the blade right along the edge of the phone holder all the way around, to remove any stray threads or chunks of dried Mod Podge.

And that’s it. Your iPhone holder is ready for use.

You can also use sticker/sparkles instead of using fabric which reduce your hurdle for Mod Podge & stitching Fabric.

How To Hack Your iPhone To Add Wireless Charging

Dear Friends, Today I share with you one of the great new trick by Mr. Tanveer on inductive charging it involve some technical as well sharp eyes to make the trick works.

If you’re waiting for Apple to add wireless charging to the iPhone, you could be waiting some time. We’ve been hearing rumors of its introduction for a number of years now, but five generations in, it’s yet to arrive. If you’re a skilled solderer, however, you could always add wireless charging to your iPhone yourself.

That’s what Tanveer did. He took apart a wireless charging case for the iPhone and installed its components into the iPhone 4S. Now all he has to do to charge it is place it down on a USB charging mat.

Tanveer used the Powermat for his hack, but you could probably use other iPhone wireless charging solutions as well. He does stress, however, that this isn’t a mod for just anyone. You’ll need patience, knowledge of your iPhone’s internals and how to disassemble and reassemble them, and some soldering skills.

Requirement:-
i)patience
ii)a steady hand
iii)soldering tools
iv)a spare charger port assembly
v)very thing gauge wire
vi)a spare back cover
vii)a wireless charger circuit (probably homemade from parts)

Once you have all those things, you’ll then need to purchase a spare iPhone back panel, a spare charger port assembly, some very thin wire gauge, and of course a wireless charging accessory that you don’t mind dismantling. You must then proceed to solder the wire gauge onto pins 16, 23, 25, and 27 on the charger assembly port.

With the wire gauge in place, it’s then time to connect them up to the wireless receiver you’ve taken out of your charging accessory. Pin 16 must connect to 0v or ground, pin 23 to +5v, pin 25 to data-, and pin 27 to data+. Once that’s done, it’s time to test whether it works before modifying your spare rear panel and fitting it all together.

It's a pretty involved hack that will obviously void your warranty. You not only have to solder tiny wire to tiny pins, but you've got to add 1mm of thickness to an iPhone back panel. It takes some serious work, but for a 1mm-thicker iPhone that you don't have to plug in to charge?
It clearly takes some work, but it would seem it’s well worth it in the end if you’re successful.

2) Install the server of AirPlay it to you PC/Mac.

3) Open the Server Application on PC/Mac and Select the iTunes folder for Music & Movies and other folder you want to stream which have non-supported media.

4) Now open AirPlay it app in iPhone /iPad /iPod when the server is running on the PC/Mac and select LOCAL SERVER named to your PC/Mac name and Bingo! you are connected.

5) Now just select your movie/ video from the folder with requisite details like, Video Quality, Audio/Subtitle Stream etc. and click on play button. After starting conversion the movie playing on your iPhone iPod iPad or if you are connected it to HDTV then played on it.

Energy Saving Tip: Friends! you may be also like to watch late night movies, but if you watching movie from AirPlay it you can switch off the PC right from your iPhone/iPad by going to server settings and save electricity without loosing your comfort zone.

Today I go to Chandigarh (HP) for some work and in the transit I feel my battery of iPhone drain so fast even after I closed the data connection the darning still continue. My iPhone which battery normally last 1.5 day about to finish in 10 hours journey in which 5 hours is without 3G as well only few calls and some minutes surfing.

When I check this thing my eyes goes to network bar it's shows 2 or sometimes 3 so I understand the resion behind it. Thanks fully my 3 tier AC coach has power socket so I able to recharge it and write the blog of today.

So todays our topic is how to save / preserve battery of iPhone / iPod / iPad for longer work as well long life.

Just go Through Step by Step:-

1. MUSIC SETTINGS OFF

When you go to settings>music you see lots of option there in that there is 4 option which no needs regularly but by default activated so put them off make you battery work longer, when you play music.

2. TURN OFF 3G/4G when not SURFING

Even you put off 3G/4G you can able to get updates on Mail, iMessages, Chat updates through GPRS. 3G/4G drain battery fast so better when not surfing the web or streaming video put the option off.

3. USE AIRPLANE MODE TO GET BETTER SIGNALS

In some areas/locality your iPhone signals showing less bar then try to shuffle AIRPLANE Mode.
This trick works and you get a better signal as well less draining of battery.
Also when your battery going to die by putting airplane mode you can save for important calls later.

4. TURN OFF PUSH EMAIL

Keeping PUSH email turned off can save lots of juice, particularly in areas with a poor signals.
Go To Settings>Mail...>Fetch New Data>Push..Turned off and Fetch new data Manually.
To receive email without push open MAIL app.

5. ONCE IN A MONTH COMPLETELY FINISH THE BATTERY

For better life of your iDevices once in a month completely vanish your battery and only then after recharge it.

6. CLOSE RUNNING APPS

it's better to always close running apps in background just press home button twice / swipe up by 4 fingers in iPad bring a app pallet which running in background just press & hold any app and a close button appear. Press it and save the battery juice.

7. WHEN IN WIFI SWITCH OFF DATA NETWORK

It's look funny as when you are in wifi why data network affected. But in some iPhone / iPad / iPod due to of weak wifi signal or any other cause data connection still working (as reported by Mitesh) so when you are in wifi radious its advisable to turned off data network so can save battery.

8. WHEN IN MOVE TO INTERCITY choose to off AUTOMATIC CARRIERS

It's quite hidden but when you are traveling to one city (like Jaipur) to other (like Chandigarh) if the Automatic carriers option is ON, your battery juice is leaking.
With the Automatic selection, the iPhone will actually bounce between carriers depending on strongest signal or closest tower.
Reason is simple when iPhone cross each tower radios signal to other tower it ask for carriers each & every time and kill the battery. So if you have a national player (like Airtel) better choose to turned off Automatic of carriers choice.

9. TURN OFF AUTO / REDUCE BRIGHTNESS

The iPhone has an ambient light sensor that adjusts the brightness of the screen based on the light around it (darker in dark places, brighter when there's more ambient light) to both save battery and make it easier to see. Turn Auto-Brightness on and you’ll save battery because your screen will need to use less power in dark places.

Needless to say, the brighter the default setting for the screen, the more battery it requires. Keep the screen dimmer to conserve more of your battery.

10. TURN OFF LOCATION SERVICES

One of the coolest features of the iPhone is its built-in GPS. This allows your phone to know where you are and give you exact driving directions, give that information to apps that help you find restaurants, and more. But, like any service that sends data over a network, it needs battery power to work. If you’re not using Location Services, and don’t plan to right away, turn them off and save some power.

Find it in Settings> General> Location Services> Slide to Off

11. AUTO LOCK SOONER

You can set your iPhone to automatically go to sleep – a feature known as Auto-Lock - after a certain amount of time. The sooner it sleeps, the less power is used to run the screen or other services. Try setting Auto-Lock to 1 or 2 minutes.

12. BLUETOOTH OFF

Nevertheless to say that running bluetooth in background also takes juice so pls put it off when not use.
Find it in Settings> General> Bluetooth> Move Slider to Off.

13. KEEP IT COOL

If you're outside, don't leave your phone facing the direct sunlight. If you can pull it off without looking like a hyper-aggressive real estate agent, belt-clip your phone, or generally keep it out of your pocket and away from close quarters with your body heat.

Interesting Tip: if you have iPhone 3Gs or later you can add battery percentage to the status bar. It give more accurate idea of battery left.
This is enabled by going to Settings>General>Usage.

I'm starting to think there is some sort of bad luck attached to my iTunes Store account, as tonight I experienced the third iTunes Store App that completely locked up my iPhone.
While playing "VIRTUOSO PIANO FREE 3" in my iPhone, the phone completely locked up with an almost-faded out display. What was worse, the iPhone became completely unresponsive - the display wouldn't accept any of my taps, and even the external buttons were ignored. Momentarily wishing I could simply yank the battery to cut the power and reset the phone, I realized Apple must have some sort of a contingency in place for lock-ups like these.

Fortunately, I was right: The iPhone troubleshooting section of Apple's main iPhone support site contains a walkthrough for situations like this.

Which I provide here below:-

A HARD REBOOT CAN be handy if an app refuses to start or if your phone is frozen.

Hold the Home & On/Off buttons together for 10 seconds, ignoring the "SLIDE TO POWER OFF" message that appears, and the phone shut down.

Turn it on again normally and it should be working again.

Pls let me know is this trick work for you or not.

Noting Beans: As per my experience with iPhone & iPad I really feel that the paid apps are much better than free one as well if you iDevices is slowing down / not responding you properly than may be some free apps is the cause.

Hello friends today I tell you how you can increase you writing/surfing/doing speed in iPad / iPhone / iPod with some hidden features of iOS.

Just See all Tips Carefully:-

1. TAP "SHIFT" DRAG to CAP

It’s hard to explain, but once your learn this trick, it’s pretty fun to use. Instead of simply tapping Shift and then tapping your letter when you want the capital format, do this: tap Shift, drag your finger to the letter you want to capitalize, and release. It’s a bit odd at first, but I think it’s probably slightly faster.

This trick is even better when you’re going for punctuation: just substitute Shift with the keyboard switcher key (123/ABC). The beautiful thing here is that after inserting your punctuation, you’re back at the alphabet keyboard: definitely a time-saver.

2. CAPS LOCK

Many people don’t like caps lock, but it’s still available on your iPhone if you so wish. You will have to enable it, though. “Settings > General > Keyboard > Enable Caps Lock” should do the trick. Then, just double-tap the shift key to type away in capitals.

3. ADD a PERIOD(.) WITH SPACE

When typing on your iPhone, double tapping the space bar at the end of a sentence automatically enters a period followed by a space as well capitalizes next word. No need to press “123″ to get to the numbers and symbols page where the period typically resides. I use this trick daily and it heavily increases my typing speed (especially when texting).

4. AUTO CORRECT / SHORTCUT

Create your own personal dictionary, including shortcuts for each word. So your keyboard not only auto-corrects, but knows exactly what you want to say as you type. In Settings>General>Keyboard and Add New Shortcut. From here, you can add new phrases and assign optional shortcuts to them. Check out some suggestion from below image.

5. LEAVE OFF www and .com

If you just need to access a regular .com website, you don’t even have to hit that button. Just type the domain name of the site, san http://www. and .com. Do you realize that this tip can save about five seconds every time?

6. SAFARI FIT to SCREEN / READER

When browsing the Internet on your iPhone’s Safari browser, double tap any column, word, or picture to fit it’s width to your iPhone’s screen. This is extremely useful for reading blogs.in iOS 5 the same function changed to "Reader" tab just press it and a new Reader view open without any ads/tags.

(see below)The first screenshot is the page when it firsts load. The second screenshot is the page once the main text was view in Reader Tab.

7. MOVING DOCK APPS

You’d be surprised how often this tip is overlooked. The 4 icons located on the grey bar at the bottom of your iPhone – Phone, Mail, iPod, Safari – are movable, just like the rest of the icons. Just press and hold the icons, then drag them while they are shaking. Press the home button when you’re done. You can put any 4(iPhone/iPod) , 6(iPad) icons on your dock.

8. BOOKMARKED PAGE IMAGE as you WISH

This one’s a little more confusing. When you are browsing a website on your iPhone’s Safari browser and want to add its icon to your home screen, press the plus sign and select “Add to Home Screen”.

The image in the icon, however, is a screenshot of the page you were on. So if you want the icon to look a specific way, zoom in on a particular item on the page. Whether you want the website’s logo, or some picture on the page, simply zoom in on that part of the page before you press “Add to Home Screen”.

Note: This doesn’t work with all websites. Popular sites like Google have special icons for the iPhone’s home screen.

9. SCROLL to TOP FAST

In Safari, Mail, Contacts and many other apps, tap the status bar at the top of the screen — which displays the network information, time and battery level — to scroll quickly to the top.

10. NAVIGATE HOME SCREEN

When on your home screen, try tapping the bottom right/left corner to switch between pages instead of swiping your finger across the screen.

Friends It’s great to fall asleep listening to your favourite music. However, you also don’t want your iPhone/ iPod playing music all night. Apple has provided an easy solution for it.

Just Do Step by Step:-

1. Go to the Clock app, set a timer for however long you want the music to play.

2. Then, instead of choosing a ring, choose to "Stop Playing" When Timer Ends options.
Click "Set".

3. Bingo! Now play you favorite music from iPod app/ Pandora/ Online Radio app choose your station and go to sleep bed while listening sweet songs & not worried for switch-off.

Noting Bean: You can close after setting "Timer" Clock App to running in background so can save battery. It still working.

Friends many of you already well versed with the windows UNDO/REDO functionality in word/excel etc. But many of you don't know how to UNDO/REDO typing in iOS.
This is very much usable when you are writing text/email and need to delete/undelete some text just entered.

The delete function in mail/apps also not very well versed by many of iDevices users.

Don't worry,
Just Do Step by Step:-

A. HOW TO UNDO / REDO

When typing in any application, or when using cut, copy and paste, you just need to shake the iPhone / iPod / iPad..(LoL) to UNDO your typing.
Shake again to REDO.
Your phone will pop up a query to double-check.

B. HOW TO DELETE

1. Delete function in-app: When you are reading email a spam/ marketing/ useless email come/ writing post on FB / Twitter you write something wrong. Now what to do.
In email just slice from left to right / right to left and a red delete button come up click on it and Bingo! email deleted.

Just the same in FB/Twitter slice your comments/post and delete button come up.

2. Delete a app: You need free storage on your iPhone/ iPad / iPod for new apps and s**k with you old app.
Just press and hold on the app need to be deleted and sooner the app icon is shaking up click on the top x mark and your phone pop up a query to double check, as well in case of game asking for game center updates need to be deleted or not.

C. HOW TO COPY/PASTE

When you need to copy any text/image just press and hold it and a pop come for copy then click on it and where you want to paste it just press and hold there and the pop up come for paste.

This option can also use to forward messages instantly otherwise going through edit>select>forward.

PRESS & HOLD has many uses in iOS which I don't cover up here just try your self. Sometime you see select/ select all/ suggest/ define/ bold/ italic/ underline/ quote level options as well you can you can use Press~Hold~Slide to move cursor to your required step/destination.

Noting bean: In some text cases Press & Hold primarily open Magnifier you need to release it so copy menu can shown.

Hello buddies many of you thinking about that why this forward thinking Apple iPhone not have option to put call on silent / rejecting a call and sending an SMS to the caller is not a feature of the iPhone.

The second option is now a feature in iOS 6, so you have to wait for it but many of you don't know how to put call on silent.

IN A MEETING when your phone rings ? Even on silent it might still be vibrating which is uneasy in
pocket/table and you don't want to decline it, so what should you do ?

The silent/mute button can also do this task but it is only put call on silent vibration still there as well when you have cover on your phone it take some tedious work of nails & if you don't have nails then I'm worried you can't worked it out.
I have an idea,

Just Do Step by Step:-

1. When phone rings / vibrating and you don't want to receive that call just press any of the volume button +/- (as well pressing Sleep Button) and Bingo! It put your call immediately on silence.

2. The call still appear to continue ringing for the caller and you've avoided embarrassment.

Noting beans: When being called press the lock screen/switch off button once to mute the phone, twice to reject the call.

1. Open your hotmail in your safari.
Select Options & More Options… from the Windows Live Hotmail toolbar.

2. Go to Conversations and faster reading under Reading email.

3. Select radio button of "Group messages by conversation" under Conversations and faster reading > Conversation settings.

Hello friends most of you love music as well most of us don't pay single penny for any music.
Because there is so many websites offer free music to hear / download / stream through your handsets like pandora sites. If you choose stream then there is no problem at all even you can't do more with it. But when you choose download you get a mp3 without album art/ description / details of artist / year etc.
And when you have iPad / iPod / iPhones without these all music look unattractive and senseless, when you don't buy music from iTunes.

If you want this all,

Just Do Step by Step:-

Step 1. You need iTunes in PC/Mac and with lots of mp3, which you get from any websites who offer free mp3. (due to privacy issues I can't provide it hear just comment below with your email ID get right in your inbox I provide you a better websites who offer great mp3 with iTunes like quality).

Step 2. Go to add all mp3 through File> add file/ folder to library.

Step 3. Now select all mp3 and right click so a dialog box open.

Step 4. Now you select find info tab.

Step 5. Here select cover flow tab so all false / mp3 websites image deleted.

Step 6. Now you have to do a very long task which you can do with some online tools but I recommended to use one great iTunes plug in called "Tune Up"
(but you can only use them for some basic need to automatically added), you have to select pending mp3 who not get any info by tune up plug in one by one and go to find info tab and add all details like Artist Name / Song Title / Album Name / Year. You find this all info just by searching it on iTunes store.

Step 7. After doing this long process you get a very good details of songs, now go to advanced menu bar and then select Get Album Art (for better pictures or pending album arts) from dialogue box and bingo you get a very beautiful cover flow of album arts.

Step 8. Still some album are missing there album art due to of spelling errors in album name and artist name. Just edit them and select again find album art.

Step 9. After doing this all plug in your iPhone / iPod / iPad with iTunes
through cable / sync through wifi.

Step 10. Now show off you device to your friend and jealous them that you buy all legal music they used pirated one LOL!.

Its a impossible task for some people to share apps between iOS devices but it possible and even you don't have to paid any more for that.

Just Do Step by Step:-

Step 1. Connect the iOS device which you want to share through Hotspot.

Step 2. Open app store in the friends iOS device and log in with you apple ID.

Step 3. Go to purchased section and click on cloud button of respective app you want to share.

Step 4. Bingo! You share the app without need to purchases it again.

Step 5. Don't worry about that 5 iOS devices limit because in this step this not affected.

Noting Beans:-
1. Your friends can't update it till you again initiate it. But it's need to activate you iTunes account to that device.
So better I advice you delete the app from you friends device and download it again as mentioned above.

2. Your friends must not select the apps in the his iTunes application in his pc/Mac during updating as it will need to activate iTunes account so better not to do that.
Just deselect in the iTunes sync option.
Otherwise it can't sync and removed from your iOS device.
