In light of my growing weight gain, I decided it was important to repost my Dear Body heart to heart to remind me that enough is enough.

Effective immediately I'm putting ME first.

Step 1 read dear body
Step 2 eat healthy
Step 3 exercise
Step 4 drink water
Step 5 SLEEP!

So let`s begin....

Dear Body,
As I sit here feeding you a bowl of chocolate ice cream, I cannot help but feel that it's time for a real heart to heart. The past 3 ½ years have been very difficult for you, I empathize.

First you had to deal with having to carry extra cargo for 9 months, not just once but twice. With that came the added weight gain of 30 pounds, followed by another 15 pounds. Granted this weight gain wasn’t your fault. You had to do what you needed to do to support that extra cargo. For that I understand.

I must pause here. {I’m dealing with some brain freeze. Note to self, eat ice cream slowly}.

It is time we move forward. Things must change. You keep sending me mixed signals. Just the other day after 'Heart' and I took you how for a long walk, you forced me to drive you to McDonalds for a Big Mac!

Was that really necessary?

You say how tired you are, and how terrible you feel in your clothing. You are feed up with the muffin top, but you make me buy you muffins.

Why do you do this to me? I thought we were friends. I thought we had the same goals and desires. Clearly that is no longer the case.

That being said, I’m moving out. You will have to find someone else you feed you. Perhaps ask 'Heart' if she up for the job.

I don’t think she would be, since she has to move your ass out of bed each day. That alone is a huge milestone. Maybe if you bribe her with some exercise. She’s always been a sucker for an elevated heart beat.

I’m not saying this will be forever. I really need my time now to think things over. Perhaps it’ll do you some good too. You’ll be on your own now. No one to feed you, chocolate, or cake, or ice cream. No more bread and pasta. And certainly no more Big Macs.

That brings me to my next point.

I’m sorry to tell you this but Atkins and I are getting back together. We lost 14 pounds together but since we broke up I gained back 20 pounds! (actually when I wrote this over a year ago is was 4 pounds, now its 20! Argh! )

I know you don’t like Atkins, as my friend you told me this many times. We are Italian I know; we are supposed to eat bread and pasta. 'Heart' and I talked and she agrees it’s in my best interest that I move on.

Once I’m back down to my skinny self, then maybe we can start talking again.

Until then, I will miss you 'Body' and wish only the very best.

One of my new regulars, a very sweet lady, referred me to her neighbour. Nikola's Mom. For her daughter's 11th birthday she was interested in cupcakes, and a small cake. The theme fashion.

I personally don't enjoy making "real" objects. Like , xbox, or a car. Perhaps because I haven't pushed the envelope on my capabilities but I think it lies with being limited to the object in front of me. That is I cannot use my creativity instead having to stick to the design of the object. However when in comes to handbags I'm more then willing.

So when I heard the word fashion and 11th, I knew a fun girly handbag would be a perfect fit! I loved making this cake, along with the cute cupcake toppers.

It's all about fun and fashion, the day in the life of a 11 year old.

Back in my days without kids I would be at a pub tonight enjoying some green beer. Instead these days I bake ;) green cookies. Happy "paddy's" day, whatever you do, enjoy the feastivity of this day!

Most of the time I find the back of the cake just as nice as the front. So this time I decided to display the back as a alternate design.

From this simple yet bold cake, I was able to creative 4 different looks using the front & back of the cake, and with or without the topper.

I recently lost one of my of beloved cake stands. So today when I walked in my favourite store I was overjoyed to find these cake stands. Not just one but two, and just porcelain stands but ribbon stands to boot!

For months I've been looking for something like this. I tell you karma has a way of working out. I'm still on the hunt for a black cake stand, so if you come across one in your shopping adventures, give me a shout.

I took my inspiration from 'opening play menu' from the movie which has Andy's room....background image of his wall and floor.

The cake covered in his wall paper blue with yellow stars along with the baseboards, and completed by hardwood floors, where all the toys adventures take place!

~Christmas Sugar Sights~

Believe or not, with the exception of the Rudolph cookies my 4 year old Mateo decorated these cookies!

He helped select the colours (which I love..I perfer odd colours vs. the traditional red/green colours)...made every single cut out, and placed each dragee (silver balls) onto each cookie. I did the base and helped with the sugar candy placement.

These where his xmas present to his cousins, Aunts and Uncle, and Nonna. Great job Mateo!

A true gift from the heart, made by hand with love.

At the last minute I decided to add Frosty made from fondant. I thought he might sink down but he stayed up to enjoy the feastivities!

Vanilla with mocha buttercream & -red velvet with cream cheese buttercream. Note to self: next year layer the cream cheese buttercream 3x thicker, and torte torte torte!!

Ironically I had a white and red snowman sitting on my kitchen counter. I used it as my table center piece. My linens are white and my chargers red...PERFECT MATCH! What are odds!

Next year I'm thinking penguins!

Next next season my friends...Santa's watching!

I LOVE you Julee!

Last week my Julee turned 2 and what a wonderful day it was! We celebrated at an indoor fantasy park...with giggles and clapping, running and laughing! He has the grandest smile that melts your heart, and so incredibly sweet. A true delight! I am truely blessed with great kids!

My Julee loves everything about trains, cars, trucks {which he calls buses, pointing with his tiny finger...bus bus} and planes, along with Toopy and Binoo. So it was only fitting to do his cake with all his loves of course! Oh, although with the exception of Toopy and Binoo, I didn't have time to make those little guys. Nevertheless, Julius LOVED his cake!

At the last minute,well most everything about this design was last minute. With all the possiblities it was so hard to make a decision. The wall banner was inspired by the ribbon, the ribbon was inspired by the fondant figures which I made a week before, the cake banner was inspired by the wall banner. The cake colours was inspired by all of it! An all around fun cake for my darling little boy.

Sugar Creations

Here are a couple of my recent cake creations. The first cake doubles as a gradulation cake and 18th birthday cake. Ryan loves baseball, so we incorporated that theme. For the gradulation bit, I add grad caps to some of the cupcakes. I just love the colours on this cake. Black always rocks!

This next cake was ordered by a lovely lady for her husband who loves his chess game. The chess pieces where made from a mold, and I must say those suckers gave me so much grief. The white fondant kept cracking and just would not pop out. I finally gave up. But the next day I decided to tackle it again, this time with black. The black fondant worked perfectly! It was still tricky but I manage to get a few good pieces!

My world of Trick or Treating

Next to Christmas, perhaps even more so, Halloween is my favourite occasion. You get to dress up, be creative, enjoy the outdoors, laugh, run around, and enjoy candy. Me in a nutshell, so it rests to reason why I totally love Halloween!

Each year I add to my collection of Halloween props, load up on candy, and plan for our festive costumes, and hope this year well finally do what I did as a kid...run around the street, ring the bell yell “Trick or Treat, and get some candy. Well, for the first time in 4 years we finally ventured out into the world of treat or tricking, and I cried like a baby!

Oh did get me wrong, we get ready for Halloween every year, each year but don’t always make the journey into of spooky realm trick or treating.

Year 1: Mateo was 3 months old....Obviously he was way too young to go out. So we enjoyed an evening in. It was all good.

Year 2: Spent the day at Fantasy Fair, an indoor park. With no afternoon nap, when night fell, we managed to hit one house, and then my little Mateo fell fast asleep...a good day in all.

Year 3: All week I prepared him by putting on his costume and he enjoyed being in character as Pablo from the Backyardigans. Thought this year will make it out! Not. At 2 years old he refused to put on Pablo when the time came. I begged and pleaded but nope he stood firm. No costume no candy. So instead we just waked the neighbourhood and enjoyed the warm night. It was still fun watching all the little ones run around.

Year 4: The coldest Halloween ever! The wind was wicked and brutally cold. My nephew was spending the weekend, everyone was excited and ready to go. Gave Mateo the run down, ring the bell, say Trick or Treat, open your bag, and say thank you. Went to our first house....well I carried Mateo kicking and crying, he refused to go and would have no part of it. He of course, just wanted to run. {he loves to run!}.

Julius was now with us...he was just a year old and stayed warm and cuddly in his stroller, way to too cold to take him out. We did continued on for my nephew but it was brutal outside, so we headed back home. In my heart of hearts I was disappointed we didn’t go door to door. {perhaps I should of gone door to door myself..lol}

Year 5: This year, my excited 4 year anxiously awaited for the night to fall, and once it did he hit the streets! He ran door to door....rang the bell, yelled “ Trick or Treat” or “Happy Halloween”, and ended with a “thank you”. Each time he came running back yelling “Mama I did good! .,,. hmmm, I thought, perhaps the neighbours where thinking he might he did good in terms of candy!

I laughed each time, he was so proud of himself that he was trick or treating! “I did good” meant he properly executed the Halloween greetings! It was fantastic, cold out but we didn’t care!

Mateo with a bag full of candy smiling ear to ear, Julius fast asleep in his stroller, me fighting back tears....so incredibly overjoyed to see my Mateo loving Halloween as much as I do! Next year it’ll be both my boys! I better bring a box of tissue!
