I’ve been living in UAE for two years now, mainly the capital (Abu Dhabi). But lately, I have been relocated (by my own will) to Dubai. I love it here. I’m telling you, something is charming and promising about this city. Talking about Dubai and how much I love it needs a book. So I’m going to pass that to another post.

Let’s talk about DIC here. I’ve been working in a company located there for about 6 months now and I just keep falling in love with it more and more every day. DIC is the place you want to work at, the “city” where you want to establish your own business and kick-off your entrepreneurial journey. Here is why:

100% business ownership.

Establishing a business in the UAE requires a sponsorship (from a local citizen) and some hard rules, but in DIC the case is different. DIC is a free zone and has different rules and regulations which make anyone’s life much easier. You do not need to be a citizen to start your business in this great business hub in the MENA. Yes, the greatest business hub in the MENA. Simply, being there adds a great value to any kind of business.

Tax FREE income

That’s right, you’ve heard it. Imagine the high profitability you’ll be generating. No constraints, nothing is taken away from you, it’s all yours. Neither you nor your customers need to worry about added value taxes. This does not only increase your profit margin, but also reduce the complexity of reviewing your financial records by experts (and government inspectors) and saves your lots of cash (and time)!

Rich networking opportunities

There is no better place for networking and business socializing than DIC. You’ll be surrounded by the
greatest and biggest companies in the tech industry worldwide. Your office might be located in the same building of IBM, or Oracle, Microsoft or even Intel to name a few. You’ll be having lunch with guys from those companies, drinking coffee and much more. DIC even holds events every now and then to help you network more, explore opportunities and make connections. Everyday is an opportunity to meet someone new, someone that can help you in your next big thing!

Being in the heart of Dubai

Dubai is ranked among one the best cities to live in worldwide. The great infrastructure, luxury lifestyle and superior services make it one of the most attractive places to live in. Being in such a city gives you the peace of mind, comfortable and joyful living. A lot people, millions, from all over the world comes to Dubai for tourism and business opportunities. This makes it a great place for any business to run there because of the large number of consumers and the strong purchasing power. People who live in Dubai are highly educated and technology oriented, and that makes it a lot whole easier to start an IT related services more than any country in the MENA. The culture is there, all you need is a tempting idea/service.

Superior Infrastructure

Public services, roads, transportation, parking, building and offices. Lots of everything. You don’t need to worry about where to park your car, or using public transportation. Thanks to Dubai RTA for connecting DIC with a Metro Station that can gets you anywhere, avoid traffic and pay very little. That doesn’t mean there are no buses or Taxis, there are plenty of them. The buildings interior and infrastructure are provided with the latest technologies to keep you connected with high speed fiber optics and enable you to reach your resources easier and faster. Floors are always clean and bathrooms are shining. And at the G Level floor, there is always something exciting happening that you may find interesting.

DIC is built with sophisticated modern architecture. The green lands, lakes and fountains makes you happy, simply smile when you look at them and say “That’s really beautiful”. I bet that if you ever experienced a bad day in DIC, all you need to do is go out of the building, look around you, have some fresh air and enjoy the landscapes.

Food Court & Services

My morning coffee and lunch are my two favorite parts of the day. Being in DIC means you are next to Dubai Media City and Knowledge Villege (that is 1 minute walking, literally, crossing a street). I enjoy my black coffee from Seattle’s Best with quick snack from the amazing supermarket which is located inside the building I work in. There is nothing, absolutely nothing, makes me need to drive my car anywhere. There is a pharmacy, coffee shop, grocery shops, plenty of restaurants (Italian, Arabic, Hindi, Chinese, Fast food…), sweets (Donuts, cakes…), car rental, photo printing studio, stationary, and much more… While I’m writing about this, I’m impressed because there are tons more.. The special thing about all of these is that they are all located under my office. Lunch time feels like university days, a square where everyone gather into and start ordering what they love best. I can’t describe how much interesting this is, you’ll never get bored of it!

Great Governmental Services

DIC is filled with the most awesome, welcoming and helpful people on earth. They are fast, nice and so supportive. I was amazed how easy and fast you can get something done there. Their mission is to make it simple for you, and that’s true, they never complicate anything and they do all the hard work for you. Sometimes you don’t even need to leave your desk, all you need to do is contact them via email/phone and you’re good to go.

Entrepreneurial Support

Key people and management in DIC have a deep vision. They understand the importance of entrepreneurship and push it forward. Weather you are a citizen or an expat in the UAE and looking for starting your business, DIC is your best choice. With three state of art business centers, you need not to worry about anything. Desk spaces, meeting rooms, phone lines and much more are offered to those who are in their first steps of entrepreneurial journey. In fact, DIC has just started a new initiative called In5 which incubate start ups, help them with funds, resources and knowledge to put them on the right track. Thanks to the great leadership of this country and their future vision to be the best. In my opinion, they are the best and on the right track to grow even bigger.

Continuous Improvement

Knowing that DIC is lead by people with great knowledge and big vision is all you need to know. This business park is constantly growing and making great improvements. I know, with no doubt, that DIC and the surrounding areas will be someday World’s #1 attraction for business development, investments, innovation and entrepreneurship. In fact, it’s already #1 in the region and has a very respected position worldwide.

Last, but not least…

It makes me very proud to see all this in an Arab Muslim country.

Simply, the child carries his father’s name. Children always say I’m originally from X country, while X is his/her father’s origin. In other words, they are attached more to their father’s side when it comes to loyalty.

Now imagine this scenario: Father X from India, Mother Y from Jordan. They both did some magic and had Z, little Z. When Z grows up he’d say “I am from India!!!”. Not from Jordan.

Bad example huh? Even I didn’t convince myself. Look at all these Palestinian fathers who hold Jordanian citizenship. Ask their kids “where you from”, they’d shout “FROM PALESTINE”. You ask back: “Don’t you hold a Jordanian citizenship?”, them: “Yes, but I am from PALESTINE!”.

In short, still not convincing!

Lets try something else. In Islam, there is.. If you open.. Or go to.. Wait, nothing in Islam says anything about it! There is nothing such as Citizenship in Islam. We are all Arabs, brothers, sister, etc… Doesn’t work!

Hmm, what else’s left?

Men > Women

Right, because men ROCK! Men are BETTER than women, therefore they should be the only one passes citizenship to children.

See, problem solved. NOT!

PS: For those who believed what they have just read, look up for the word SARCASTIC.

Yes, both should the have the right to pass citizenship to their children. In fact, anyone who was born on a certain land should be granted that country’s citizenship.

End of story, stop arguing. SHE has rights as much as HE does.

Happy Women International Day. (Did I say that in the right order?)

It’s the new thing on twitter, everybody is talking and throwing a tweet about it every now and then. Some even wrote blogs about it (for instance, me!). It took other forms such as “Angry Jordan”. It’s all great, having one awesome goal but then some other people try to discuss his/her amazing philosophy in life and opinion about others.

I got three words for ya: “Get over yourself!”. Wait, am I doing the same here? Hmm, let’s see!

First of all, understand what freedom is about then start talking about it. You got a lot of resources, use Google to educate yourself. Who are you to tell people to stop being angry about what they see or feel? What have you accomplished in life in order to make you the one to state such a thing? And if you think you have been through the worst this life can bring, THINK TWICE! Don’t ever use that as a way to get to people’s hearts, because once you do that they become meaningless. Why? Basically, no one likes the one who talks about himself out of “nowhere”.

What annoys me most is that some of those people stand behind organizations which claim good deeds, while THEY ARE as an idea, but for absolutely personal goals. I met those people, and I know how they think and want. In fact, I’m not the only one who is aware of this, many of my friends and connections actually dealt with them on a personal and professional level, and they can talk for years about how upset they are!

I’m not trying to be vague here about who am I talking about, let’s call him X, and you call yours Y. My point here to Mr. X who represents the worst image of citizenship is to shut up! We don’t need to hear your opinion about freedom of what people need to say or do, and we don’t need to hear you telling people to stop complaining about the system. People can be angry, people can be happy and they have the RIGHT to say so. Stop trying to kiss-butt, pretending to be some hotshot, marketing that you are a genius and playing the role of the ideal person who knows everything, been through all sort of things and understand life best. You don’t!

Even if I own a 2011 AMG Mercedes (I don’t) I still have the FULL RIGHT to complain about gas prices. Me having or not having money doesn’t give government the right to raise prices without making sense. Having a BlackBerry (even on debt) doesn’t mean I can’t have one, it’s my choice to live miserable and not having enough cash till the end of the month. But again, even with all this, no government has the right to raise prices randomly of basics needs. Gas and food that is! Jordan’s economy and budget deficit is a totally different subject, and if I want to start here I’ll probably need a book, not to mention the corruption, reasons stands behind this budget deficit and the way government tries to “fix” it. No one is a “fool” no more.

Sadly, many Jordanians still lack the basic understanding of freedom, good attitude, honesty, professionalism and just how to deal with others. Reform those within yourself, then reformation of your country will grow organically.

Bottom line, go ahead people, you can say all you need to say. It’s your right and it’s your time. Forget about the fear we all raised on of being silent. No government will reform itself unless people reform themselves first. It all starts with you, by being a good citizen, civilized, educated, honest and have determination of having a goal that is higher than fame and money, but to help your community and make your country proud. Be a free thinker, and get out of the bubble you’ve been living in for so long, and most importantly, don’t listen to others who try to shut you or put you down.

Cheers.

Been a wild ride. Can’t believe how fast time passes by, I still remember my very first day here in Abu Dhabi. Been a year full of everything. A lot of people came into my life, and a lot just left. Not sure if I regret anything, I never was a regretting kind of person, unless I do someone bad. Got a lot of things in my mind, million thoughts and a zillion whys. But then a friend told me “that’s life, that’s people and people change!” Did I?

I got a massive energy, 2010 was a great year. I don’t know from where I get this continuous inspiration and determination but I ask Allah to keep it flooding! When I look back at myself in 2009 and what I am today in 2010, I can only think of one thing; I will always stay the same from this inside, and get older from the outside. Yes, certain behaviors and perspectives might have changed. I’m 23 by the way, not that old man, yet!

I’ve learned a lot of things, but the most important is to stay positive. Don’t complain! Life’s good if we think of it in a good way, and is bad when we think of it in a bad way. Look around you, you’re lucky. Lucky enough for being able to read, hear, talk and having whatever you have in your life. It’s all about being self-satisfied. That comes easily when you truly wish for people what you wish for yourself. When you share what you have, and give what you most prefer to others by your own choice.

It has been a successful year to me, a lot of people say. But I think it’s just a step. I haven’t started yet; I still have so much to do. You should too! Determination is the key, never give up. Everyone can dream, but a few can achieve. A goal is not scored unless you run, try to pass, fell down, get some help and then kick! Some goals are not easily scored and take a couple of tries, and sometime you just never score, but there is always another match. Luck is awesome, but you have to make it your own way.

Don’t hate, spread love. Be a better person, forgive and let go. There is a story talks about how Allah let someone into heaven because he never slept angry at anyone, or made anyone angry from him (intentionally).

Balance. Whoever said you can either be this or that is just wrong. You can balance, you can make the best out of everything. Don’t let anything just pass by, seize the opportunity and the moment, do what you think is right. Acknowledge what’s wrong, and don’t defend a wrong action/idea/behavior just because you think it’s right and you do it.

Accept who you are, be yourself. There is even a quote about this one: “I’d rather be hated for who I am than loved for whom I am not”. Okay, don’t take that literally! You gotta work on yourself if you are hated, but the point is don’t act and pretend to be someone you’re not! Try to find inner peace between you and yourself. Like yourself. How would you expect people to like you if you don’t like yourself?

Don’t lose your identity. You’re an Arab? Act like one! You’re a girl? Be an amazing one. A man? Be a real one. Don’t let whatever surrounds you affect you, be the one who affect everyone around you. Stop being a follower, a blind follower for bad leaders. We’re living in a total mess, that is globalization. Freedom is misunderstood, rights are given wrong and identity is being lost.

If I could back in time to change anything about 2010, I wouldn’t. I just love every smart, dumb, crazy and stupid action I did. 2011 is going to be another year on the calender for me, because I will always continuously try to achieve what’s on my mind. I don’t need a new year to have a new resolution. A happy moment is better than a whole new year.

Happy Holidays.

It’s been a long time since I blogged. No I never forgot about it and yes I got like zillion things I want to write about but…

NO TIME!

That’s a fact I am starting to hate. I wish the day was 48 hours, that would be awesome! I mean I’ll have time for everything; work, sleep, gyp, friends, family, myself (blog, music, etc..). 24 is no good anymore!!

So I’m just letting you know that I’m here, alive and doing great. Been extra busy with lots of meetings, development and what not. Things are going fine, good news should be announced soon. In fact, things are going way better than I ever expected.

That’s it for now, should be blogging soon.

Cheers.

My name is Joe Blow, finished accounting 5 years ago with a Good average. I Took some courses in IT and got a job as jave/php/.net/oracle/marketing in a new firm called MicroNot. I’m a regular guy, I wake up, go to work, get back home around 6-7pm, watch TV, go to gym sometimes, never miss a single status on Facebook. And sure, I hang out with my friends, stay up late every weekend and reach the sky from time to time, if you know what I mean. Never miss an event, got Armin’s latest hits in my car, Lady Gaga as a ring tone… Oh, I forgot to tell you that I am an active social media person, I tweet about everything and always tweet with others twitters, I got a lot of followers! Are you following me by the way? You should, I’m cool!

I always had a dream when I was young to become a pilot, it didn’t work out, my family couldn’t afford it, and my “GPA” wasn’t that high in high school and somewhat I didn’t even think about it when I finished school. I applied for two or three universities, and accounting was the only available option so I registered. It was easy, but I didn’t study that much, and I finished my B.s.C in 4.5 years. After graduation, I couldn’t find a job! I mean, I sat home waking up everyday at 2pm, watching TV and doing all kind of boring things. Only 5 interviews, and they all asked me the same questions about accounting theories and basics.. How could I remember that? I mean more than one month passed since I graduated… They are so stupid! My dad one day came late at night and told that he knows someone and arranged to get me hired. And since then, it’s just the same old day, same pattern, same routine. At work, I have made a fortune on Farm Ville, I am too good that my friends can’t beat me! It’s amazing how you can make time pass by so fast at work by playing around, facebooking, msn and BB-ing (the bold version)! Of course I have an iPhone too.

Life is so hard, there is no money and same routine. At home, my mom is always busy with washing my clothes, or cooking or whatnot. It’s too hard for me.. Sleep, work, friends, TV, internet, mobiles, and then sleep.. Every single day. I can’t even save money, I mean paying two phone bills, gasoline, clothes from Zara and Massimo Doti, cover charges, entrance on every club, tickets… Too much paying.. And now my family want me to get married, my dad want to sell a land.. Life is just getting harder every single day!!

I really want to be something, famous, have millions, be successful business man. I want to become like one of those who have big companies. I really can’t see what they do different than me. It must be luck, and I got none. I’ll just wait for luck to come someday, wake up and have the top selling product in the region, or maybe the world!! Till then, I’ll just hope and think about it from time to time. I will dream about it.

OK ok.. enough sarcasm! My point is: Stop expecting things to happen, work hard, educate yourself about what you are going to do in the future. Enough with relaying on people and relaying on your parents. Go out there, explore the world with strong knowledge and impress those around you. Good things and success comes only with hard work. There is a price for everything, but it definitely worth it.

Work hard, complain less and stay positive.

Today I have watched a video posted by one of my friends about the population of Muslims all over the world and how numbers can show by simple mathematics that Muslims will take over the world one way or another sooner than you think. As you probably know Islam is the second major religion in the world with more than 1.5 billions Muslim. Christianity comes in the first place with 2.1 billions Christian all over the world. But this doesn’t mean both religions in some areas of the would could share the same culture. Culture is not only backed-up from religion but also from traditions and principles people have in a geographic area at a certain time and is inherited from parents and grandparents in its best forms. I’m trying to clear some facts about the global demographics in this post.

According to the numbers which I’m about to give you here, the global demographics will be changing dramatically in the next coming years. Theoretically, based on studies, in order for a culture to maintain itself for more than 25 years, the fertility rate should be 2.11 per family (2-3 children). If you look into the history, you will notice that this rate has never passed 1.9 (1-2 children), and studies show that if this rate reaches 1.3 or less, it is impossible for a culture to survive because it simply needs up to 100 years to correct itself and there is NO WAY for an economic system can sustain itself this long.

To make this easier, say we have two sets of parents, each have 1 child, there are half as many children has parents, and if those two children (from the two sets) get married and have one child then there are is 1/4 as many grand children has grandparents. Say there is only 1 million babies who were born in 2006, there will be less than 2 million adults to work by 2026. As the population shrinks, the culture fades away.

Have a look at the following fertility rate in some countries:

France : 1.8
England : 1.6
Greece : 1.3
Germany : 1.3
Italy : 1.2
Spain : 1.1
Europe Average : 1.38
Muslims (All over the word from Islamic countries) :8.1

Historical researches tell us that this can not be reversed! So what will happen? Europe as we know today will not be the same in matter of a few years! How? I guess some of you might say that the population in Europe is not decreasing, why? Simple answer, high immigration rate! And guess what culture/religion these immigrants are? Varies, but 90% of them are Muslims!

Studies show that by 2027 there will be 1:5 Muslim in France! Will it, say in 50 years, be an Islamic republic? In UK, the population of Muslims have increased from 80,000 to 2.5 M in less than 20 years! There is 52 M Muslims in Europe now, studies show that this number will be doubled in the next 20 years!

What about America? The fertility rate is 1.6, and as I have mentioned before this rate should be 2.11 to maintain a culture. USA and Canada has almost the same rate. Numbers show that there are more than 9 M Muslims in the US today, and in 30 years there will more than 50 M.

There is much more that I can add to this, do a simple researches and see for yourself. Sounds promising, huh? But somewhat I believe there is a problem here, a problem that we are not aware about. They say “the world won’t be same for our children and grandchildren”. It won’t, no, but are “they” blinded from these facts??
No!

Quran and prophet Mohammad (s.a.a.w ) have encouraged Muslims to have more children, I believe this is one of the reasons. I am not a religious guy, but I try my best to understand and do what I can do. West, without mentioning certain parties/groups names understand the above facts. Our past has been, our present and certainly our future is planned and studied. The whole world, the whole system. Not going to talk about politics here, but I have something to say…

Look at us (Arabs generally), look at our culture 50 years ago (I wasn’t born back them, but I read some stuff here and there) and at what it has become today. Do we even have a culture now? In other words, do we have identity? We are following and living the “American Dream”, trying to be more like them. Because they have freedom, they defense women right and just very liberate. Is that what you call freedom? Are they the perfect model to follow in human rights? Are they the people with no crime, who are happy and just never attempt suicide?

What do you wear? Brands wise.. What do you eat? What do you listen to? How are you using the technology?

The other day I came across an argument, one of the few discussions I have with people about such stuff. It was about PDA (Public Display of Affection). If you don’t know what that means, Google it. I was surprised by the way people defended the fact that it’s okay and normal to have it in our streets and community. I am not an angel, and I’m not saying I am role model to follow. But the disaster is when you actually believe that what’s wrong is okay. You can say “It’s wrong I know” at least. But defending it? It’s like saying “Stealing is okay, not I only do it, but it is 100% legitimate”.

What really sad is to watch all these beautiful young men (my age, younger and older) completely brainwashed and blinded. We reached the level of not only making mistakes, but also be proud about them, defend and demand them. Where have your Arab blood gone? The pride to protect your family, you sisters and your beloved ones from what is wrong? Is that freedom? Is that what equality means to you? That was only a very simple example… I need a whole new post to talk about this one, so I’ll stop it here.

What I am trying to say, even that we are bigger in number, and will be all over the world very soon, it won’t change anything. Because simply, we are slaves to the system, their system, their thoughts, principles, style, language, etc.. They are not scared, they have and still brainwashing every single one of us. So that when there are as many as possible of us, we are them. Being them, won’t hurt them. Because we believe in them, we love them and will only make what they do easier. We are “cool”, we talk the way they do, dress and hair dressed like super stars, we do everything they do, very open-minded, men and women are equal in everything, Eminem/Rihana inspire us with their lyrics and our traditions are extremely old-fashion. And most importantly, Islam/Christianity is only a word printed on our IDs.

Thanks for reading.

Sounds pretty much like a very popular quote? "Je pense donc je suis". In English, "I think, therefore I am" by Descartes.

Sounds pretty much like a very popular quote? “Je pense donc je suis”. In English, “I think, therefore I am” by Descartes.

It annoys me every time I see someone new out of nowhere trying to “get there”. Tweeting a couple of “quotes” and having fairy tale Bio won’t change the fact of who you really are , what you made, accomplished and actually have given to the community! It’s not only a “Twitter/Facebook” thing, it is everywhere even away from the internet life. It’s becoming a disease, a person who did/accomplished nothing trying to sound “interesting”.

Alright, forget about what I said above, let’s think of something else that goes along with the subject of this post. Tell me, what does an idea mean? Something useful? Eventually will make a difference? Life easier? Better? If your answer was yes, way to go! An idea (in its positive, peaceful and simplest forms) is initiative for an action. Action for something that is going to make someone’s life easier and better. It is clear, constructive, respectful and with a good will.

If you have a look at some of the new ideas (that are already in action) by young Jordanian guys you’ll see the exact opposite. Despite the fact that some people actually like these “ideas”, it doesn’t mean they are right, promising or encouraging. See, our young community are a bunch of followers, few are leading. And if the leaders are going to be a couple of retards, then expect a bunch of followers retards. It’s really sad to look at everyone, almost identical, the same thoughts, style, hopes, etc.. With such ideology, it’s easy to make such individuals follow and repeat the patters you want. It’s complicated and probably need a total different post to talk about that point, so I’ll end it here.

What I am trying to say, seriously, do we need more retarded things/thoughts/ideas/actions to degrade what’s already shameful? Think twice! And for those who own those “ideas” and maybe trying to make living or fame out of it, you own nothing, did nothing and gave nothing.

Let’s make something useful, something that will do people good.

I have got a got a blog, and this is my first post! :)

I’ve been watching a lot of blogs growing up lately on the internet and in the Jordanian community by young motivated people. Reading, spotting , tweeting, etc.. with the thought in my head “where is mine?”. I always wanted to have one, but was a bit lazy to set up an online blog and go through the painful process (which I have fully experienced today) of configuration, coloring and what not. So instead, I stuck with the old-school way, paper and pen, and sometimes Notepad!

But I guess nothing lasts forever, one way or another I had to join the online blogging community.

I love writing since I was 15 years old. I used to write about everything, everywhere and all the time. If you look at my school books, papers, notebooks, table and even my room’s wall, you’ll know what I mean. I believe it’s the perfect way to express your thoughts and feelings in a way that can’t be spoken, but only written.

Not going to make this post a long one, just want to welcome all of you here and tell you “Hey, I have got blog now!”. On this website you can find pretty much everything you need to know about me, so “go nuts”!

Stay tuned for next post

Cheers!
