In my last post, I posted about a theme called SimpleWP, a theme I released quite a while back (in June this year).

Yesterday, I came to a blog using what looked like SimpleWP but it was modified a little with different footerlinks. I researched the name of the theme and it pulled up tones of results for the theme name (they renamed it to transparent boxes) at free theme websites. http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=transparent+boxes+wordpress

It’s a shame someone can be so uninventive and have to stoop so low to get linkbacks.

I’ll try to search for more information on the “creator” ripper when I have time.

I released these two themes with ThemeLab quite a while back. One is called Purple Swirl and one is called SimpleWP (much thought went into naming the themes).

Purple swirl is a very modern design I purchased from http://in-ess.net/ and then coded into XHTML/CSS. Leland at ThemeLab then put the theme into WordPress. It’s gravatar, 125 x 125 ad and  widget ready with plenty of space in the sidebars for extra.

I designed SimpleWP myself a while back and months after designing it, I coded it into XHTML/CSS. Then again, Leland at ThemeLab then put it into WordPress and released it. It includes Gravatar support for comments, a widget-ready sidebar, and native WordPress tag support. This theme also 125×125 ad ready, which can be edited through the sidebar.php file.

As I’m sure you’ve noticed, I haven’t posted on this blog in ages (around 6 months!). That’s going to change as of today. I’m going to be regularly posting (hopefully daily) my projects, random thoughts and anything else that hits me.

Over the next few days I’m going to be changing the look of the blog to a new, unique theme. It may look quite poor for a while.

Last week, I designed my first wordpress template. xHTMLValid coded the template and released the template free for download on their site.

Over the next few weeks, I plan to design and release a few more wordpress templates, as soon as I do, I’ll let you know here. I may even code them myself.

The template is free to use as long as you keep the footer links intact. If you decide to use it, let me know it would be great to see people using the template.

I’ve used ActiveAudience and Parked now to park my domain names however the amount I received compared to the amount of unique visitors and clicks was crazy.

So, today, I’ve decided to completely scrap 3rd party parking services and have designed my own parked page. My aim for the parked page is not to generate revenue by clicks, I’m looking to increase the amount of domain sales.

I’ve been told by a few people in the past that parking your domain while acknowledging the domain is for sale increases your sales significantly. It makes sense if you think about it, if you’re wanting to purchase a domain name and you visit the domain to see if it is available to find out it is taken (you don’t know about whois yet) and you don’t know how to contact the owner, the chances are you will look for a new domain that is available. Also, not everyone is comftable contacting the owner of a domain name if it isn’t advertised for sale.
