iPhone OS 3.0 Software update introduced many cool features. Probably the highly anticipated cut, copy, paste functionality makes the top of the list. If you have not upgraded to 3.0 already, you can do so by plugging your iPhone to your computer, going to iTunes, selecting your device from the left menu, and pressing on "Check of an Update" button in your Summary screen. If you have iPhone 3G S, you do not need to upgrade to use this functionality. Above is a video clip that demonstrates how to use copy and paste functionality. For this, first go to any...<div class="feedflare">

iPhone 3G S supports voice control for dialing a number and playing music. This is pretty important to us parents especially when we are taking multitasking to new levels. Below is a video clip that shows how to make a call using voice dial. To initiate this you need to press and hold on the Home button, and say a command, such as "call Mike". I first thought this is a software upgrade and it will work on my iPhone 3G with OS 3.0 update, but it did not work. You need to have iPhone 3G S to use this....<div class="feedflare">

We get a lot of raised eyebrows when we mention our little kid owns an iPod Touch and loves it. Nevertheless, when I talk to an iPhone owner with a little kid, we are exactly on the same page! They are equally excited about the all applications available for kids on iTouch and we can go on and on about the possibilities. But still I wonder, how young is too young to get a kid iPod Touch? When we were purchasing a new iPhone 3GS, Apple sales guy mentioned that he sells iTouch to 1 year old kids! And I...<div class="feedflare">

We purchased an iPhone 3G S for my husband as soon as it came out. The new iPhone is awesome! But I am still undecided about upgrading my iPhone 3G to 3G S. It also has a nifty feature where you can tap on the screen to focus on different objects. Video capture: As a parent, I would say this is the most important upgrade from iPhone 3G to iPhone 3G S.
I was astonished to learn that various studies (from University of New Hampshire, University of Alberta) show that between 40% to 80% of kids have viewed adult content on the Internet. Our kid is young, we still have a few years before this becomes a concern for us. He needs to learn how to read and write (or type) first. Nevertheless, we already start collecting ideas from other parents about how they monitor their kids 'online life'. However most of those tips, such as having computers only in the living room, apply only to Internet surfing through desktop or laptop...<div class="feedflare">

Is there an iPhone projector? The answer is, well, depends on what you'd like to do: Currently it is only possible to output iPhone screen to any projector or TV screen only when iPhone is playing movies. If you are demonstrating an application or playing a game, to the best of my knowledge an as of March 2009, it is not possible to project or display iPhone's screen on a larger screen. For projecting iPhone's screen in the movie mode, you need an AudioVisual cable that converts iPhone or iPod Touch output to RCA. You can then connect the RCA...<div class="feedflare">

At Apple's official site, iPod Touch battery life is said to be up to 6 hours when playing back movies and up to 36 hours when playing back music. Many iPhone and iPod Touch forums talk about the battery life, and most people say that their device lasts only 50-60% of these manufacturer-specified-times. I ran a couple of tests and discovered some battery-saving tips along the way. 1. In the first test, I set the brightness to maximum, wi-fi was turned on and I used the iPod Touch speakers to playback a movie. The battery lasted only 2 hours and...<div class="feedflare">

I expect that parents with older kids may have different concerns. Here they are: 1. It is an expensive gaming device to get for a kid: If iPod...<div class="feedflare">

Especially if you are in for a long plane or a car ride, loading up your iPhone or iPod Touch with your preschooler's favorite movies is a must. If you are going to hand your precious iPhone to your kid, you may consider getting a good case with a stand, which I list few of them here. It is also smart to download some entertaining and educational apps for your kids. Here I list a few of...<div class="feedflare">

However, just to give everybody a rough idea, I currently have 67 applications installed that are taking about 218 MB space, which works out as a little over 3MB per application. However, even more important than storage limitations for apps is that the screen space on iPhone is limited. On iPhone 3G you can have up to 9 screens and 16 apps per screen, plus 4 dock applications. This will total to 148 icon spaces per application. Considering that...<div class="feedflare">

Moving and arranging iPhone and iPod Touch icons can be necessary to keep your iKid's favorite apps on one screen. Rearrangement of icons is easy but not as intuitive as some of the other iPhone functions. For this, you need to press and hold one application icon and see that all the app icons become wiggly. Once they are in this state, you can hold and move any of the apps to the other screens or place them to another location on the same screen. In order to exit from this mode, press the home screen.
