I have my pwned iPhone 2G 8GB and have been using it fine (Firmware is 2.2 or something I forget). I have been seeing a lot of 3G iPhones for pretty cheap and I'm a sucker for the nice shiny black backs on them (Not to mention I paid $275 for my 2G some time back and I'm seeing 8 GB 3Gs for $200-$225 now). Anyway, I did some looking and with the 3G I'm seeing a ton of people seem to have problems with the 3Gs regarding unlocking and staying unlocked. I'm nervous to upgrade firmwares on my iPhone as is because it's a pain - how bad is it on a 3G?

I'm seeing some people using the 3G on 3.0 unlocked having some problems and many people are reporting the same problems so it makes me hesitant to use a 3G. I am using on T-Mobile so unlock is important to me - my whole family is T-Mobile so this AT&T sim card trick is not something I can easily do. Can anyone speak for the issues I'm hearing on the 3G? I heard some complaining about not getting the sim card to work AND the push function to work. I enjoy that everything works on my 2G - is a 3G not worth the trouble to upgrade to?

Waterproof Case

http://drycase.com/

Apparently, it is a small waterproof bag equipped with a one way valve that lets air out, but not in. Essentially, it forms a vacuum around whatever device you decide to put in there. They have it advertised with an iPhone inside, but I assume you can also use it to protect other things like cameras and MP3 players.

I would think that for anyone who enjoys being in the water this may be a good buy.
