I've had my eye on this iPhone App for quite a while now.
Phantom Fish by Byline supposedly does wonders for Google RSS users. I never went with it out of the principle that Google Reader is one of the many applications which Google has made an iPhone or Mobile version available.

But this app claims to do much more; such as download RSS articles with images, allow for full site downloads, etc.

The punchline is the real news: Coincidentally, I went to go buy Phantom Fish's "Byline" via the iTunes App Store & figured, let me first search reviews. The first article I stumbled upon boasted about a 1-day sale that they're having lowering the $4.99 to $1.99. :tinysmile_aha_t:

Again, if you're a Google Reader (RSS) user, its certainly worth checking out. If you think your current RSS reader sux, check out Google Reader.

Then, I realized that this sale day is today. Needless to say, I bought it, saved 3 bucks, am happy and hope to use the app shortly. If its worth mentioning, maybe I'll post a review in a few days.

Check it out for yourselves:
I just heard that they just released their service on the iPhone. I am unsure of how it is going to be because of the touch screen. Does anybody have TeleNav on their iPhone? If yes, how is it?

So I know I have not posted in a while, a little busy with moving cross country but I wanted to share this with everyone.

So you want to get the new iPhone but maybe times are tough. Maybe AT&T won't let you do the early upgrade yet, or maybe they will. But is the early upgrade the cheapest way to go???

In my example AT&T would not let me do an early upgrade. So for the new 32GB phone I was looking at $799 full price.

Even if they did let me do the early upgrade it was still $599 with a 2 year Extention of service to my remaining one year.

Let's break tthe options down.
1. Full price $699 and one year left on the contract.
2. Early upgrade $599 and 3 years locked into the contract.

3. Now let's see the third option. The third option does involve changing your cell phone number. Now to some this is a deal breaker, but for me I was planning on changing it anyway since I just moved to a new state.
* If changing you number is a deal breaker you still want to read on and see how to recover some of that money you spent on the early upgrade.

Ok, so I called AT&T and asked them how much it would cost me to buy out the contract. In the contract it said $150, but they prorate the price down after being with them for a while. Be sure to ask the. The actual cost or they won't tell you until you call back to shut it off. *I was on this contract for 11 months and my actual cost was $120 to terminate the contract. So I went into the apple store and did the online prequalification. This part is important, you have to answer the questions as if you are a NEW customer. 10 min. later and $299 + tax I had the new 32GB iPhone and a 2 year contract. The new phone had a different pjone number of course *The first bill will aslo show a $32 activation fee. Called AT&T back and payed $120 to shut the old phone *off. Now I'm going to ignore my old ipjk es last bill since you pay AT&T a month in advance. The next bill should show the true ammount owed like texting and min overages + $120 for the disconect.

Let's look *at the total cost.
*$299 32GB iphone 3GS
+ $120 old phone cotract buy out
+ $32 activation fee
*And only 2 years of a service contract.
= $451

Summary:
1. $699 full cost
2. $599 upgrade with an added 2 years on you remaining comtract time.
3. $451 and only 2 years of contact time.

Now you can always sell that iPhone 3G. I see them selling as high as $250 on craigslist. But I don't care tomeet up with people and deal with strangers. That's when I found nextworth.com. For my 16GB 3G they estimated $236. That's if you have the cable, charger, headset and no scatches on the phone. Then I took away the cable, charger, and headset and they still offered $231.

I would rather keep a second cable worht $19.99
Keep a second charger for my office worth $29.99
And keep a second headset as a backup $29.99
$231 for the phone is a decent price but an additional $6 for $80 of accesories, no thanks. I will keep those.

So in the end it's
*$451 cost so far
- $231 selling the phone to nextworth.com
= $220
For a 32GB iPhone 3GS, only a 2 year contact, and I get to keep a spare headset, cable and charger.

If I had bought the 16GB 3GS it would have been only $120 in the end.

Dear AT&T, you should have just let me do the early upgrade. Since you didn't you lost a year of service and an additional $149 you could of ripped me off for. Hmm, who is in charge of thinking about this stuff?

The only theft with the Tethering technology is the fact that Wireless Carriers can charge us for the same service we're paying for already. How can these preliminary rumors saying AT&T is going to charge $30 extra to tether be right?
What is Tethering? Tethering is a concept of being able to use your laptop online in a place with no internet connection by using the same internet connection provided to your iPhone 3G(S).

Here's what bothers me about it:
1) Carriers didn't 'invent' this nor did they add a service for us to pay for. They're simply 'allowing' your laptop to access their network using the same credentials that your iPhone uses.
This is just not right, hence the App war with Apple vs. the company which made a tethering application a long time ago (which got blocked for this reason).

2) Tethering isn't even available yet with the release of the iPhone 3GS (terrible.)

AT&T says that they'll get around to it at the end of the summer.
Hmmm, that's funny, . . . FireFish & I just got our iPhones to 1) unveil a tethering option in the menus and 2) actually have tethering work, . .. FREE, The way it is supposed to. FireFish got his to Tether using the synch cable or wireless via Bluetooth. It's easy as pie; you just connect from Bluetooth & the rest is DONE!!

This is some cool stuff that we'll touch more on soon, I'm sure.

Please add the repo repo666.ultrasn0w.com to Cydia or Icy. That last ?o? is actually the number zero ?0?! If you use the letter ?o? you?ll get an error.
