Anyway, back to the review. This particular app can be a very handy resource for a medical assistant or an would be medical assistnat. It cover all areas of medical assistant jobs, including all kinds of procedures. Perfect companion for refreshing your memory or most importantly if you’re preparing for Certified Medical Assistant exam then this app will be a perfect reading material for you.

For $9.99, it is a bit on the pricey end for an iPhone app. However, if y0u look at the benefits or advantages you’ll have by having this App with you all the time then $10 won’t look much at all. The app was released by McGraw hill and you can buy it now from iTunes.

Anyway, we get this request every day asking us “How to Fix a Water Damaged iPhone“. So we decided to write a post with step by step process and you can find it here: iPhone Water Damage.

1. Take the iPhone out of the water and turn it off IMMEDIATELY by pressing the power button and swiping to Shut Down or by pressing both Home and Power button together.
2. Once the iPhone is Turned Off, wipe it off with a cloth of tissue
3. Next, remove the SIM card
4. Then give the iPhone a few SOFT SHAKES to get rid off any remaining moisture
5. Get a sealable plastic bag or an air tight plastic container and fill it with a Rice (yes, the rice you eat )
6. Now cover the iPhone with rice and seal the bag or container properly so that air can’t get it. This will help get rid of the moisture.
7. Leave the iPhone in the rice for a couple of days.
8. Take out the iPhone and turn it on. Unless you’re ‘unlucky’ your iPhone should start working fine. If it doesn’t then as suggested earlier, take it to your nearest repair shop and get the damage assessed and fixed.

Please note, do NOT try to charge your iPhone at any point until you’ve take it out of the pack of rice. If you do then the water inside might damage your iPhone pretty quickly.

If you’re a more techy kind of a guy and would like to open it up and dry the water out that way then you’re going to need these iPhone Tool Kit Set.

I’ve been an iPhone user since the first generation and I’ve used (sort of) all the GPS apps out there, TomTom, Navigon, etc. While all of them do magnificent job, their cost makes you to reach to the bottom of your pocket. I know that cost is still justifiable given a GPS device will cost a lot more and you’ll have to carry an extra device whereas with a mobile app, you carry it with you all the time. So it’s a much better and smarter option. Now, what if you weren’t willing to pay that much for an app? Well, now you have an alternative. The MetroView GPS app is cost effective and does the job and does it very well. You might say you get what you pay for and that might be true to a degree but I can tell you, if you’re looking for bang for your bucks then you can’t go wrong with this app.

Now, to the not so good side of the app. Personally, I didn’t like the look and feel of it for the few days but I got used to it after a while. Searching for an address could have been made a bit more intuitive but I can live with that. The one thing that bothers me a lot is that it doesn’t seem to advise alternative route specially when there’s a toll road. You can turn on and off the toll road, but I prefer getting both options when I enter an address and make a decision on each occasion.

Other than the above “lackings”, the app seems to work quite well. The street name pronunciation is lot better than a couple I used before. All in all I think it’s the best buy for $14.99 AUD.
