New day, new app in Cydia: ScreenRecorder. This app let’s you record everything that happens on your iPhone or iTouch ( on the screen ) and you could use it for video tutorials or demos.

Once you installed the app , load it, tap on the only button that says “Capture” and wait for the countdown to start recording everything on thescreen . When the app starts recording, you can exit by pressing the home button, and start browsing through your iDevice.ScreenRecorder will eat a lot of resources , so don’t be surprised if it crashes a lot.

ScreenRecorder is available in Cydia Store via BigBoss repo for $1.99 ( not worth buying )

PS: from now on, when using your friend’s iPhone ( or any other iPhone ) , make sure the app is not running in the background before you decide to login to Facebook or input any password

Thanks to the work of the iPhone DevTeam, with their original “by hand” method of fixing push, they have paved the way for a more automated process.
#iphone IRC commoner anethema has setup a way to fix push via Cydia which gives you GENUINE activation certificates, and they are ALWAYS unique. You will never share acivation certs with another iPhone user. The best part? Unlike http://www.pushfix.info/ which charges it’s userbase a fee for them to get their push working, anethema’s solution is 100% FREE.
You can find Push Doctor on NERV Repository. Add the repo URL on my homepage or on this blog under “Tweaks” to Cydia’s sources to get the fix.
If you’ve legit activated, you do not need this but even if you install it you wont have an issue.

FLAG Solutions, the developers of Thief Buster Antitheft Alarm, has released the app’s latest update. Thief Buster is real anti-theft software, complete with biometric fingercoding, motion detection, proximity sensor and volume blocking. It is the only application available that restarts itself if a would be thief tries to turn it off. The app is a very serious security measure against iPhone theft but still has the fun feel of a James Bond gadget.

Your iPhone may look like, well a phone, but if it has the Thief Buster Antitheft Alarm on it, that device is also a high-tech, highly secured instrument. The developers at FLAG Solutions have taken great pains to program failsafe precautions into the app to guard against theft of a user’s device. The technology involved is pretty cool too, very James Bond.

There’s something called biometric fingercoding incorporated into the security features of Thief Buster. A user must touch their fingertips to the screen to set their passcode (fingercode) initially. After that, touching the screen in the preset sequence arms or deactivates the alarm. There are fingerprint areas on the screen to guide the user, which may fool a potential robber into thinking that it is their prints stored in the device.

Right now, Thief Buster is the number one paid app in Spain and is downloaded in more than fifty countries. One of the reasons for that is a feature that is unique to this application, no other app has it.

Typically, if someone attempts to steal an iPhone, they merely have to hit the Home button to turn off the alarm system. They can try that with Thief Buster but it won’t work. When the system is armed, hitting the Home button actually tells the program to restart itself. There’s no getting away with anything with this one.

Another trick of phone thieves is to turn down the volume before taking off with the device, thereby silencing the alarm. Again, this won’t get a burglar anywhere. The Thief Buster app has precautions for that in place, using volume blocking. The loud, obnoxious noise of the alarm is stuck at maximum levels if any attempts are made to steal it. Unless a user buries their phone in bag of clothes, they can be pretty much guaranteed that a theft attempt will be very loudly noticed.

Thief Buster actually can protect bags, but burying the phone deeply within a lot of content is going to muffle the alarm. There is a setting specifically for an iPhone that offers protection when the device is slipped into the outside pocket of a purse or backpack type of item.

Adobe to Announce New Application in April?

Adobe may be announcing new addition to its signature suite of applications in April.

According to MacWorld, a digital printing conference in Texas is advertising that Adobe will announce the new product in April. Further details weren’t available but the event’s website says that that this is a brand new application.

Listed as an ‘Adobe Technology Preview’ by Noha Edell, business development manager for cross media publishing solutions at Adobe, the site for the Emerge conference in San Antonio on April 21-22 says that “Adobe will unveil a brand new application as part of its signature suite of services. Be among the first to see why this is sure to surprise even the most “in the know” Adobe fans”.

Adobe has given a few sneak peeks at what’s expected to be included in CS5 including a Painter-style paint system and an After Effects-inspired Puppet tool to Photoshop, and iPhone, iPad, and Blackberry app development tools for Flash.

How to Set a More Secure Alpha-Numeric iPhone Passcode

These are instructions on how to set a more secure alpha-numeric passcode for your iPhone using iPhone Configuration Utility.

Step One

Download and install iPhone Configuration Utility from here:

Step Two

Launch iPhone Configuration Utility

Step Three

Select Configuration Profiles from the Library at the left of the window.

Step Four

Click the New button from the toolbar

Step Five

In the General section of the new profile input a name and identifier for the profile. We named our profileiClarified and set our identifier to com.iclarified.alphanumericpasscode in the example.

Step Six

Click to select the Passcode section for the new profile. When prompted click the Configure button.

Step Seven

You can now specify the requirements for your password. Select the Require passcode on device then configure the many settings possible.

These settings include:

- Require alphanumeric value

- Minimum passcode length

- Minimum number of complex characters

- Maximum passcode age

- Auto-lock

- Passcode history

- Grace period for device lock

- Maximum number of failed attempts

Step Eight

Once you have made all the desired changes to the Passcode section click the Share button on your toolbar.

Step Nine

If required you can sign the configuration profile; otherwise, select None from the security dropdown and click the Share… button.

Step Ten

A new email will be created with the mobileconfig file already attached. Email this file to an address accessible on your iPhone.

Step Eleven

Access the email on your iPhone and press to open the attached mobileconfig file.

Step Twelve

From the Install Profile screen press the Install button.

Step Thirteen

A popup window will appear asking you to configure the installation. Press to select the Install Now button.

Step Fourteen

You will now be asked to set a Passcode that meets the requirements you specified earlier.
