Exams has many meanings for different peoples. For some, it’s the gateway to success and university; for some, it’s the only hope for scholarship; for some, it’s a game to play and so on. So what about you?

Before buying the laptop, I was given comments by my dad that Mac won’t be able to run Windows programs because my dad is a Windows fan. As I want to keep my options open, I went to did some research and found out that Macintosh is able to boot up Windows but for me, what’s the point? I want to use Macintosh OS not Windows, wouldn’t that be better to buy back a normal Windows computer? After that, I also found out I can virtualize Windows and Mac using some programs like Wine HQ, VM Ware or Parallels Desktop.

Well, let’s forget about Wine as it’s hard to use and not that user friendly and let us focus on whether VM Ware or Parallels?

VM Ware is the big boy in the virtualisation field as it has almost been in this field for 7-8 years and is a genuine listed company in New York Exchange. On the other hand, Parallels just support Mac without supporting Windows.

VM Ware Fusion also gains the upper hand as it allows user on Mac to use two processors with Intel Core Two Duo Processors whereas Parallels Desktop just allow you to use one. By using both processors, you will be able to run Windows faster and thus no lagging will occurs. However, on Parallels, you will experience lagging on the operating system when you are running high end graphics OS like Windows 7 or Windows Vista where there’s the Aero Interface in action.

Nevertheless, Parallels does has it advantages like allowing the user to run Windows in Coherence Mode. By runnning the virtualised OS in coherence mode, you will experience stuff like this:

You will be able to run your native OS apps and virtualised OS apps side by side. Isn’t that cool?

So as a conclusion, both have it’s advantages and weaknesses so that’s why I now use both of them! But if you were to ask me for opinion on which to buy if you only have cash for one, VM Ware might be a better choice if you don’t need to run any apps side by side.

Why Bother With What People Says?

This is one of the statement that 3 books talk about. I just heard about the statement “Oh, I know there’re people behind my back who keeps saying bad things about me.” almost daily. I mean, why in the world should you bother what people say about you? Look at Peter Chao, one of the famous Youtube star, he doesn’t care what people talk about him! He gets comment like “Get A Life Faggot” or “F**k off you stupid Chinese” and so on. Did he care? No he didn’t! He didn’t care one bit of it and that’s why his videos are so popular!

You know what? Most of the most successful people in the world are given bad comments on their big goals!

Take Barack Obama as an example. He was first Black president in the USA’s history. How did he achieved that? By sheer luck? But does sheer luck works against the Americans who was once very racist against Black Americans?

It’s just goal setting. When he was 5, he was studying in Indonesia and the young Obama wrote an essay entitled “I want to be a President”. As what you will probably expect, he was laughed by everyone. This is because firstly, he was not living in USA but Indonesia and secondly he is black while thirdly, he is not a son of the rich guy!

Nevertheless, he think BIG and he became the first ever black president. Let’s take it the other way, what if he bothered what people talked about him? What if he had low self-esteem and believe in his friends’ comments? There will not be any Barack Obama we know anymore. We won’t even know him because he will be nobody like me and you!

Here are some beliefs that everyone thought were absolutely true before:

These beliefs seems stupid to you and me but at that particular time, only a small portion of the people doubt it.

So here’s what I gotta say to you and myself:

Don’t care about what people out there are saying about you! Just do it! Whether it’s the girl/boy you love, the ambitions you have, the money you want and the invention you want to invent, put in 100% of your effort to make it work! Jolt those people’s name who teased you and show them back in ten years that you’re a winner whereas there are just a plain loser!

Besides, I went to Singapore last Friday to attend my relative’s wedding and I got some photos shot but sadly my 18-55mm lens’ autofocus machine was spoiled and jammed so all my photos are shot with the 55-250 mm lens which means I got to stand a long way from the subject.
