my anger and wrath. I will hide my face from this city because of all its wickedness.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;6 “‘Nevertheless, I will bring health and healing to it; I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security. 7 I will bring Judah and Israel back from captivity and will rebuild them as they were before. 8 I will cleanse them from all the sin they have committed against me and will forgive all their sins of rebellion against me. 9 Then this city will bring me renown, joy, praise and honor before all nations on earth that hear of all the good things I do for it; and they will be in awe and will tremble at the abundant prosperity and peace I provide for it.’&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;10 “This is what the Lord says: ‘You say about this place, “It is a desolate waste, without people or animals.” Yet in the towns of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem that are deserted, inhabited by neither people nor animals, there will be heard once more 11 the sounds of joy and gladness, the voices of bride and bridegroom, and the voices of those who bring thank offerings to the house of the Lord, saying,&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;“Give thanks to the Lord Almighty, for the Lord is good; his love endures forever.” For I will restore the fortunes of the land as they were before,’ says the Lord.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-size: large;&quot;&gt;Reflection:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Things at times may not look as bright as you wish them to be.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We all have a tendency to ask ourselves, didn&#39;t God promise me a prosperous future? didn&#39;t he promise me that my burdens will be light? didn&#39;t he promise me that everywhere my feet tread he will give to me? Well, why do I find myself chained up, limited, entrapped, or not going anywhere? &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The prophet Jeremiah &amp;nbsp;is no novice to asking himself these questions or finding himself in predicaments which were way beyond what God had promised him or the people of Israel where they would be. &amp;nbsp;Even though this message was promised weeks if not months after the great message of Jeremiah 29 (I know the plans I have for you), the prophet finds himself chained to a brick wall with his liberties taken away.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You see, there are many times in our faith journey that everything that is happening is contrary to popular demand. &amp;nbsp;It seems as though the harder you try the harder it gets. But there are several benefits that are hard to identify when facing trials, and one of those benefits is the building of a Godly character. You see, this prophet was not only a prophet (one who hears and speaks for God) in public, or while his liberty is intacted. But, he continues to be a prophet while his liberties are taken away. He never stops hearing from God, nor does he shrink back every time God promises him and/or his people something which seems impossible to believe. No, he writes this message in the midst of great difficultly as he humbles himself to seek the voice of the only one who could hear him or rescue him.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;For those who are trained to listen to the Word of the Lord or his voice, there is nothing greater, or more inspiring, or soothing to the soul then the voice of your maker. He has ways to transform your difficulties into hope. &amp;nbsp;Here in this message God promises a full restoration to Israel (God&#39;s promised people) as they journey through life&#39;s greatest valleys as well as life&#39;s greatest mountains. He invites each one of them to &quot;call upon him&quot; and the God who created the mouth will speak. He promises that he &quot;will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.&quot; Nothing is more needed when you have no one to talk to, when life&#39;s door is closing in on you, and there seems to be no way. &amp;nbsp;In this New Year, listen to the voice of the Lord, and humble yourself to him. Have you ever considered giving to God rather then receiving from God? Is there something that you can offer God today simply because he is God?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Bible and history teaches us that there was a peculiar family by the name of &quot;Korah&quot; or the &quot;sons of Korah&quot; (like most peculiar families around us today :) ) that were called to serve God full time in the Sanctuary. They were chosen by God to represent him, serve him and minister unto him with thanksgiving, praise and shouts of joy. Many remember the &quot;sons of Korah&quot; for their rebellion later in the pages of history but for one simple moment I would like to focus on the &quot;sons of Korah&quot; for their commitment, for their sacrifice and for the climax of their family history. For we all have family history we don&#39;t want to remember this thanksgiving holiday, but not all is doom but rather like most of us we can find some good pages in our family history that can brighten up our days and make us smile. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You see there is good in most people, I even believe that there is good in everyone. As I contemplate through the pages of my own life, I can stop to remember that while we are still alive there is hope for change, hope for healing, and even hope for deliverance. God never &quot;gives up &quot;on what he created, and as the &quot;sons of Korah&quot; experienced, there was a moment in history where psalms (prayerful songs) can only describe the beauty and goodness of God in their lives. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Psalms 45 describes the intimacy of their thoughts, the passionate love for their God, and their gratefulness for his unending covenant with his people. The director of music is overwhelmed with the balm of gratitude that allows him to see images of a coming Savior and King. He rejoices in this kingdom which is based on justice, peace and joy. He embraces by faith the moral rise of a God (Jesus) who hates wickedness and is bathed in the anointing of joy. This is my God, this is your God, can you see him today?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I invite you to take this moment right now and close your eyes to think optimistically, to think about the subtle moments in life where technology, the busyness of life, and the responsibilities of paying your bills has vanished. Give Jesus your attention for one moment and give him your praise this thanksgiving holidays. Write him a psalm, write him a poem, and give him something worth while as you honor him at your dinner tables. The story of Paul and this wonderful letter (epistle) to the Church at Philippi begins not on a mountain top overseeing the see of Galilee, nor does it begin on the vast hills with newly born lambs running up and down a green pasture to meet their shepherd. No, it begins in a dark cave, as a man of God is imprisoned by a society who hates &quot;Good News&quot;. You see the Romans didn&#39;t imprison Paul because of a heinous crime but rather for spreading the liberating news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Have you ever been around people or have participated in a culture of people who just hates &quot;good news&quot;? They have been so cultivated in bad news that just the mention of &quot;good news&quot; becomes a crime!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Paul found himself in a dungeon with his ankles chained awaiting his release, because after all he was innocent in the eyes of God, but guilty in the eyes of man. He didn&#39;t scream, he didn&#39;t cry, he didn&#39;t give up hope nor did he wave the white towel and surrender his faith to the overwhelming circumstances that can plague an individual facing prison time in the hands of an enemy. This Godly hero begins his letter thanking God for the people he has been able to serve. His mind was not on his circumstance, nor was it in a 5 by 10 cell with the damp smell of muddy water. No, he thanks God for every moment he had to serve the people of God. He learns the importance of prayer since he has no one to talk to, no one to sing with, no one to encourage him. You see his prayer is not the type of prayer of someone helpless nor hopeless but one who knows his God and says &quot;&amp;nbsp;I always pray with&lt;u&gt; &lt;i&gt;joy&lt;/i&gt; &lt;/u&gt;because of your partnership in the gospel&quot;. He loses no confidence in the character and faithfulness of God because after all he clearly understood that his &quot;apostolic call&quot; would probably invite death to constantly knock on his door.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Paul was confident, he was determined, he was convinced and he was emotional about his God and the message that he had the privilege of sharing. He completes his dissertation similar to the way he began this letter - in prayer. Stating that the most important essence, and experience that anyone who suffers similar circumstances should seek and acquire is the divine love of Christ and the knowledge that produces the fruit of righteousness among the brethren. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You see I am convinced of this, that people who are afraid, imprisoned, confused, hurt, hopeless and angry just need one thing, a taste of the divine love that comes from the throne of God. I must stay at your house today.” 6 So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly. 7 All the people saw this and began to mutter, “He has gone to be the guest of a sinner.” 8 But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount.”&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;9 Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham. 10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-size: large;&quot;&gt;Reflection:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Lord wants you to know, he never saved you to leave you the same way he found you!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The wonderful message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is that the message found within holy scripture is not only words of faith, affirmation, promises, blessings, salvation and/or grace. But, it is a message about a father&#39;s love, a son&#39;s obedience, and the Holy Spirit and his desire to dwell in the life of &amp;nbsp;all believer&#39;s.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The &quot;good news&quot; is not bad news. It is not only for those faint hearted or broken hearted. You don&#39;t have to always be in misery to worship or serve God. The &quot;good news&quot; has been written for the rich and poor, the young and old, the short and tall, and even the big or small. God says in Proverb 22:2 &quot;The rich and the poor have a common bond, The LORD is the maker of them all&quot;. &amp;nbsp;Jesus wants all those listening to know that he is moved by faith. This young rich man named Zacchaeus was found in a city called Jericho, God has an incredible way of setting the stage for a miracle. You see Jericho was a city known for it&#39;s walls and God has always had an incredible ability to walk through walls, or tare them down. This city was not only the stage of Old Testament miracle, but the location of a New Testament revelation.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You see the Word of God makes clear that Zacchaeus even though being wealthy, strong, fast and wise he still had barriers or walls to climb or to break in his life. He is like many of us who don&#39;t find himself or herself in desperate need for God to manifest himself. He is not someone who is bankrupted or in his or her last leg of the race. But, one thing is clear he still has this innate eagerness to know Christ and the beauty of his bountiful mercy. &amp;nbsp;His &quot;desire&quot; was all he needed to move the heart of God. Amazed by his willingness to outrun, climb and position himself to meet his Savior, Jesus stop&#39;s and looks up at this man that the bible described &quot;small in stature.&quot;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;For the first time in his life, this young tax collector will not be known or remembered for his incredible ability to collect Roman taxes, but rather for the faith and his willingness to be changed by the presence of Jesus Christ. A simple but passionate invitation of Jesus was enough to change Zacchaeus life, bring him to his knees of conviction, and bring forth an action that will bring salvation to his house and to all who would read his story.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you find yourself not in need of God because everything is swell, then I challenge you to rethink or consider the message of Zacchaeus. Now what do you say?” 6 They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. 7 When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” 8 Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;9 At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. 10 Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;11 “No one, sir,” she said. “Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-size: large;&quot;&gt;Reflection:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Are you free from your past? Are you living out the full potential of Christ in your life? Or are there still things that echo through your mind when trying to live for Jesus that causes you to stumble? &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The story of the adulterous women found in the scripture above really hits closer to home then you think. You see, the adulterous woman reflects all of us. She is a child of God who finds herself indulged in practices which she was never designed for. She is a fertile vessel, designed to be in covenant with God but because of past and present practices she has broke her &quot;covenant&quot; with her husband (Christ). You see this woman can be you, it could be the Church, it can anyone who is currently a &quot;covenant breaker.&quot;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Because she was caught in her sin, she was presented to Jesus. But Jesus understands her, he forgives her, he knows her history, he knows her present, he knows what has made her indulge in a practice that violates her innocence and condemns her to shame. Jesus bends down and begins to write, like the one who wrote the &quot;Ten Commandments&quot; with his finger, or wrote the writings on the wall in the Book of Daniel. He writes, he writes because he is an author, he is the perfecter of our faith.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The story ends with forgiveness, with reconciliation, with purpose, and with freedom. You see the only way to live out your experience with Christ, and the salvation he offers is to understand that he will never condemn those who are found in him. Shame and condemnation is the fruit of the &quot;fallen man&quot; in the Garden of Eden, but Christ came to restore all things unto himself. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you find yourself being a &quot;covenant breaker&quot; or indulging in sins that separate you from the love and protection of God, Jesus invites you to embrace his forgiveness no matter how shameful your sins are or were. He desires to cover your shame and condemnation with grace and forgiveness so that you may live a free life in him. To often we hunger for a clear picture of what our future looks like through the eyes of God, and what does he really want from us. The last time I took my son to the doctor, I sat on the edge of my chair hoping that the physician attending to my son would give me the right prescription so that my son&#39;s health will improve. I had no doubt that the hard work of the physician and the knowledge he possessed can quickly help resolve the problem with my son&#39;s ailing body. In the same way, God has a prescription for our lives to live with maximum purpose and direction. The Word of God is our compass, and our hope should be that if we apply the remedies prescribed in his Word we will see the outcome and evidence of his promises.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;The will of God for your life is provided in Scripture as the following:&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;b&gt;1. In all dietary disciplines a person becomes what he or she eats.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;b&gt;Matthew 16:13-20 &amp;nbsp; “Is Jesus Christ the Son of God?”&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;3 When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?” 14 They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets. 15 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;17 Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. 18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” 20 Then he ordered his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Messiah.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;b&gt;2 Timothy 4:1-5 &amp;nbsp; - &amp;nbsp; “Itching ears”&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1 In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: 2 Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. 3 For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. The purpose or mission of the church is the course of action and the steering by which the Church will strive to build the Kingdom of God personally, corporately, locally, and globally. If the course by which your Church is steering is different from the “course” or “beat of drum” which you are accustomed to, or looking to take, it is inevitable that your journey will experience many bumps and bruises along the way. &amp;nbsp;The Church of your choosing should be a place where your personal “mission” should be fulfilled through the corporate “mission” or “purpose” of the Church.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;b&gt;Our Church’s purpose statement:&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I AM Ministries is a Gospel Centered Church that makes disciples of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, teaching everyone to live a life in reverence and worship to God, and love through service to it&#39;s community locally and abroad.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;b&gt;John 14:1-7 &amp;nbsp; - &amp;nbsp; “I AM the Way”&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1 Do not let your hearts be troubled. Every individual has a “calling” and/or “purpose” for which he or she will give an account for, and that will require the necessary discipline to fulfill it. &amp;nbsp;Growing in discipleship is essential in attaining the necessary discipline to fulfill your call.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;b&gt;Matthew 28:16-20 &amp;nbsp; - &amp;nbsp; “A Church that disciples”&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;b&gt;Philippians 3:7-16 &amp;nbsp; - &amp;nbsp; “Press on toward the prize”&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. 8 What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith. 10 I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, 11 and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you. 16 Only let us live up to what we have already attained.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-size: large;&quot;&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-size: large;&quot;&gt;Question 5: Does the Church practice and believe in the active presence of the Holy Spirit?&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Lord’s will is that each person in Christ Jesus be baptized in the Holy Spirit so that he or she may produce spiritual fruit and be effective in ministry and in testimony.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;b&gt;2 Corinthians 3:17-18 &amp;nbsp; - &amp;nbsp; “Spirit filled”&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-size: large;&quot;&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-size: large;&quot;&gt;Question 6: Does the Church encourage and practice Worship&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It is the will of God that each believer grows in his or her intimacy with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. &amp;nbsp;All acts of ministry, song, service, fellowship, giving, and/or offering is the way we practice our spiritual act of worship. The more your intimacy in God grows, the more godliness and fruitfulness is found in the life of a believer.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;b&gt;John 4:19-26 &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;“Encourages Worship”&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;19 “Sir,” the woman said, “I can see that you are a prophet. 20 Our ancestors worshiped on this mountain, but you Jews claim that the place where we must worship is in Jerusalem.”&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;21 “Woman,” Jesus replied, “believe me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. 22 You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;25 The woman said, “I know that Messiah” (called Christ) “is coming. It was winter, 23 and Jesus was in the temple courts walking in Solomon’s Colonnade. 24 The Jews who were there gathered around him, saying, “How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly.”&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;25 Jesus answered, “I did tell you, but you do not believe. This will help you identify denominational values, doctrinal differences, and ecclesiastical Church structure and governance. It could be in the areas of your finances, relationships, un-forgiveness, emotional health, mental health, or something as simple as self control or enjoying a level of peace. If you can identify with any of these symptoms we want to welcome you to the ranks of those who may be suffering from a spirit called poverty :)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;We want you to know that &quot;poverty&quot;&amp;nbsp;takes on many forms, even some of the wealthiest people in the world suffer from a lack of spiritual and emotional stability and even at times mental health. The information that we will be providing is to diagnose and solve this reality with the truth of the Gospel. This is not a prosperity message, but rather a Gospel message that God wants to see you prosper as much as your soul prospers. So put on your hats and take this journey with us as we indulge into battle to rid ourselves of this spirit called &quot;poverty&quot;.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The very first step in breaking the &quot;Spirit of Poverty&quot; is to identify that &quot;Poverty&quot; is not simply a lack of finances, material gain or a lack of mental stability, it is a&amp;nbsp;Spirit. There is an entity, which the Bible states, desires to devour the blessings of your family, your children and your children&#39; children. I do not want to seem overly spiritual, but if we disregard this first fact, that there is an entity who desires to steal, kill and destroy your dreams, your hopes, your faith, and even your finances we are blind of the truth that will set us free. As a Pastor I want you to know that there are external forces working against you trying to disrupt your effectiveness in the Kingdom of God and the opportunity to bless others. I say all this not to bring fear to your hearts but to strengthen you in the truth that some of what is happening to you may not be the fault of your own. In later lessons we will be discussing attitudes, behaviors, and habits that can lead to poverty, but at this moment we want to address the truth of our adversary.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I have seen throughout my many years in ministry that many of God&#39;s greatest generals within the Kingdom of God will struggle, if not face this enemy named poverty. It disguises itself as self pity, righteous sacrifice, and even takes the form of self denial. There are many times when these excuses become our reasoning to embrace or make sense of what is happening to us while serving God with all of our hearts and even with our finances. As a Church Planter, my wife and I know very well what it is to empty out our accounts and live within our means for the sake of the Gospel. We understand what is means to not enjoy a simple meal at the local fast food restaurant because we didn&#39;t have the means to even provide. I, myself, have faced this enemy and I would like to encourage you to do the same. My purpose for this post is not to impart a spirit of self pity but to recognize and cause you to wake up. There are struggles and/or patterns which you must recognize and become resiliently angry about. The Word of God states that people perish for lack of knowledge. Receive this knowledge today and break the spirit of poverty in your life. Remember, only the truth of Christ will set you free. We must always remember to prioritize our lives and mind according to scriptural truth. King David reminded himself that there is eternal profit, divine benefits in praising and serving the Lord God. Perhaps you don&#39;t have the latest car, or the million dollar house, perhaps your dreams seems almost impossible to accomplish, perhaps you are just waiting for some supernatural event to intervene in your life and rescue you from your turmoil. But, let me remind you according to God&#39;s truth that there is more to life than just material prosperity. There is a never ending truth that God will redeem you and crown you with love and compassion. You will rise again and your sins will be forgiven forever. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. 12 After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. 13 When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Then a voice said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-size: large; font-weight: bold;&quot;&gt;Reflection:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What has God said to you? Has he spoken to you? Has it been hard to hear God? Has God&#39;s voice been muffled by the storms of life, and the uncertainty of tomorrow? There are times in life when it seems almost impossible to hear God. When the cold nights are prolonged by the brisk of &amp;nbsp;a winter breeze, and your soul longs for comfort, if not a warm fire or an encouraging friend. As a seasoned christian I can tell you I have witnessed these moments many times before, and these are the very moments that exercises our faith and prompts us to draw closer to God.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There are always highs and lows in ministry, in life, and in our daily affairs. Just like the great prophet Elijah whose name means &quot;Yaweh is my God&quot;. He had been destined to live life passionately, he had reach the height of his call, a man who trained his ear to listen to God, who was anointed to speak for God, and who can call fire from heaven or cause a drought by a simple spoken word from his lips. Elijah&#39;s convictions were real, he was passionate, he was convinced and he was on a divine mission. But, like many of us, he had his moments where running seemed like the best option, when hiding seems like the only solution, and where an overly pompous view of himself led him to know how weak he really was.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In the cave is where this story begins, and I can tell you many prophets are hiding in caves throughout the world silenced by their fragility and fearful of their speech. God had told Elijah to stand on the mountain, to remove himself from the cave and stand upon the obstacles that obscure his vision. Mountains are designed to be conquered and God did not tell him to kneel on the mountain, or lay on the mountain, but to stand on the mountain. As God prepared himself to pass Elijah by, the Word says that three events took place. First, a strong wind passed by, this wind represents the incredible hurricanes that wist away your hopes and blows away your dreams and everything you believe in (please notice the wind was so strong it shattered the rocks). Secondly, an earthquake jolted the core of the earth and rattled Elijah causing devastation and uncertainty as continued tremors will cause our soul to shake. Finally a fire was ignited, and this fire breathing prophet had known very well that Moses had seen a fire, and that God had answered his own prayers as fire had consumed the sacrifice on the alter. The interesting part of this scripture is that God said he was in none of these events. Sometimes we look for God in miracles, in signs and in wonders. But God said he can been found and heard through a whisper of his voice. You see, when our trust and faith is based on miracles we forget that God is only true to his Word. Jesus said in Luke 4:4 &amp;nbsp;&quot;Man does not live by bread and water alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God&quot;. He didn&#39;t say miracle, he didn&#39;t say fire, nor wind, nor earthquake he said Word. &amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you are feeling weak, be comforted and know that you have joined a cloud of witnesses that have experienced the same winter. It dawned on me the other day, if God is silent maybe he wants to grab your attention. Maybe he wants you and I to draw closer and share our innermost thoughts, concerns, desires or prayers. Or just maybe he wants you and I to listen more intently. I encourage you to go invest time with God this week and silence your cell phones, your tvs, your radio, or even your thoughts. Take a walk, drink a coffee, drive a car, or take a retreat but invest time with God and let him whisper direction and hope for your life and new year. For as I turn the pages to find this scripture I came to realize that it is found at the end of the Holy bible. Now, that may sound superficial to many but this marked my memory for life. &amp;nbsp;As a student of God&#39;s Word I came to realize that the author of this wonderful book (God) always planned a dramatic conclusion. A conclusion called to many believers &quot;the blessed hope&quot;.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You see, for anyone who enjoys reading or simply going to the movies, we purchase a book or a ticket for the simple reason of learning or entertaining our thirst for knowledge or pleasure. But, the greatest scenario has already been determined, decreed and written. There is an end and climax which is unparalleled, the &amp;nbsp;story of life ends in &quot;victory&quot;. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I have a particular sign on the door of my refrigerator which says &quot;What would you do, if you know you can not fail?&quot;. Well that statement is absolutely true and guaranteed in the pages of the bible for those who believe. The Apostle John was given the opportunity to envision and see what is going to happen in the future (revelation), as he was exiled to die on the island of Patmos. He could have rendered the white banner and lifted up his hands to declare, surrender. But you see, he had already surrendered his life to Jesus and therefore was gifted with the wonderful opportunity to see life in a different perspective. He may have been exiled but he &quot;John&quot; will be crowned with victory. &amp;nbsp;I read a wonderful statement the other day on facebook which read &quot;your circumstances do not determine your destiny&quot;. Well John understood that he didn&#39;t have to pay a ticket or purchase a book, because the price had already been paid by the precious blood of Jesus. He just needed to understand that he (John) was in the midst of life&#39;s drama and the pages was the summary of his journey with God. For his name (purpose) had already been determined and written within the pages and truth of God&#39;s Word. What is your purpose, or where is your name in God&#39;s Word?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There is an end, and it is a marvelous one! Where perfect harmony and peace will reign, and our blessed King will rule with power and might. All life&#39;s agony will seize, and all that you have once dreamed of will come to pass. I encourage you to partake of this truth, do not surrender to life&#39;s problems or circumstances but surrender to the author of life. The story of your life has just begun, and as the author of life says&amp;nbsp;“I am making everything new!”, begin your day receiving forgiveness for your sins and let God direct your steps to total victory in Christ. This revelation was not only for the &quot;end times&quot;, but it can be experienced today in your spirit. For the Word of God is spirit, and so let this speak to your inner man or inner woman. God is calling for a generation of Christians that are no longer afraid of what people think, nor are they afraid of confronting a culture which is spiritually deprived. We are so hungry to see God, and his love being poured on his people and sinners alike that we will confront sin, and love the sinner through the preaching of truth. A truth that is anchored in love!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Peter had gone through his discipleship, and now it was time to stand up for what he had just witnessed for the last three years. Peter could not deny the miracles and the power of his Savior as he stood before him after the resurrection. He could no longer deny that he had witnessed the greatest sacrifice ever known to mankind. His friend, his Savior, his God had been mutilated with the pounding of insults, whips and curses let alone the crucifixion on a cross. He had come to a place in his life where he would have to make the most powerful gesture or motion which would transform the world and launch the very first Church in the bible. Peter stood on his feet, in this posture he stood up for what he had believed and witnessed. He was empowered by on high to speak like no other man had preached before, so powerful was his words that three thousand (3000) souls were saved moments after his five minute utterance.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Standing is a posture of warfare, a posture of conviction, a posture of action. God never requires of his servants to sit down, nor lay down but to stand in the midst of adversity, to stand in the midst of trial, and to stand in the midst of war. There are many times that in the weathering and seasoning of our Christianity, we have allowed our eyes to focus on the daily interactions of culture and society, yet forgetting the most interactive experience and that is with our beloved Lord and Savior Jesus. A Jew is one who praises God because of his inward convictions. He is a Jew because God has healed a callused heart and made it sensitive to the love of God. Just imagine for a moment that the fingers that molded the world, and held man in his hands is the very same healing hands that can transform your heart. He once wrote his commandments on stone, but not takes a heart of stone and writes his Words and commands with a desire to see you and I become everything God intended us to be. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Please notice you and I can not muster up enough strength, nor can we listen to enough motiviational speeches with the hope that we will entirely change and someday achieve perfection. No, the bible teaches us that this is a work of the Holy Spirit. It is a work of God, to testify to you and to the world that he is still in the miracle working business. There is nothing more powerful to see a sinful heart transformed by the power of God. Pure upright and holy, a revived heart inclined to the things of God and his purpose. Let the whisper of God&#39;s silent voice compel you to embrace God&#39;s plan in your life as you live day by day in a world that refuses to know him. Let your heart come to terms with what God says about you, and not what the world nor the voices in your head convinces you to believe.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As a young boy the Prophet Jeremiah could have not fathomed that he would be a spokesman for God and his Kingdom. He viewed himself as &quot;to young&quot; and &quot;incapable of speaking&quot;. But, as the Word of the Lord came to him, the Lord reveals to Jeremiah, (which means God shall arise), his spiritual destiny in his creator. It is important to understand that every individual is a three dimensional being by which you and I possess a Spirit, a Soul, and a Body. God wants you to focus on your spiritual destiny today. I call out within you, that spirit being, that spiritual man or woman who was formed fearfully in the hands of the Almighty Creator (Elohim). Jeremiah could have not imagined that he would be destined to be a prophet, for speaking was not his strength. But God has taught us that &quot;in your weaknesses he is made strong&quot;. Jeremiah was the perfect candidate that God choose because it did not depend on Jeremiah&#39;s strength, but in God&#39;s omnipotent spirit.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Benign to Jeremiah, Jeremiah considered his youthfulness to be an obstacle but in God&#39;s eyes it was perfect. For God desires that we all would have the heart of a child, for as the Word says Matthew 18:3 &quot;unless you become like little children you will never enter the Kingdom of God&quot;. There is power in purity, holiness and innocence. This young Prophet did not realize that everything God needed to move was centered in Jeremiah&#39;s purity and dependency on God. For a true prophet is one who speaks the truth even when it is not popular to the masses. Truth sets people free, and truth is rooted in impenetrable purity of God&#39;s Word.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Today allow yourself to think of yourself according to God&#39;s Word. As “servant warriors”, God does not call us to be feeble muppets, but rather, a skilled and purposed soldier who knows how “not” to fumble the ball. We must be focused and driven by call, rather then by ambition or fear, and learn how to carry a sword, with the heart also to serve.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;All acts of ministry (service) must be centered in Christ, and built on his Word. It is the work of God and man co-laboring to make salvation clear and secured. For as a man has total &quot;free will&quot; to choose salvation, he also has total &quot;free will&quot; to lose his salvation. It becomes a battle of the wills, God&#39;s wills verses man&#39;s will, or both working together. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Calvinism, in the other hand, teaches &quot;once saved, always saved&quot;. There are some limitations regarding this doctrine, on the topic of whether salvation is only granted to the &quot;elect&quot; or is it offered to all who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. It can possibly become an issue of exclusion, rather than inclusion. It is scripturally clear that God has completed the sacrifice for which salvation is granted, for all of God&#39;s work is perfect and complete. But, the question still arise whether Christians can lose their salvation? It is blasphemy to abuse the sacrifice of the cross, and belittle the grace for which we all have been saved by continuing to live in self indulgence and sin. For, a &quot;genuine&quot; Christian, resembles the work of God&#39;s hands, his mercy, his love, his humility, his character, his likeness, his image and of course his spirit. When considering this issue, we must understand fully that a &quot;Christian&quot; is one who believes in his heart and confesses with his mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord (governor, ruler, king) and that he resurrected from the dead (Romans 8). This confession is not simply a dictation, or a verbal declaration, for even demons will confess this, but an internal working of faith which has been proportioned by God, working through the circumcised heart of a believer. If in true, &quot;Jesus Faith&quot;, has settled within the heart of a believer, God and angels rejoice and the Holy Spirit immerses the believer in his truth. This eternal work shall not be damned by doctrine, but fulfilled by truth. For a Christian, who has been filled with the Holy Spirit, will bear the fruits of the Spirit. This is denoted in the word &quot;fellow&quot; or &quot;fellowship&quot;. Throughout scripture we can see that God calls us &quot;fellow workers&quot;, or that we may have &quot;fellowship&quot; with him or other believers. This word is rich in depicting the importance of remaining in Christ, for God sees our divine relationship, through the scope of us remaining in fellowship with him. For a &quot;true&quot; Christian is one who has forfeited his worldly relationship, for a divine one. This, in turn, will assure and secure his eternal reward. You can not have true fellowship with God, and still come out looking and acting like the world. The separation of a lost child, in a highly populated area, where it&#39;s parents just realized that their child is no where to be found. How about, the complete lost of a loved one, when you are granted one last opportunity to see their face before lowering them to their rest. This is a minimal analogy of what it could have possibly felt like, when Adam committed sin, and all humanity was separated from God. For the Bible teaches us, that we all have fallen short of the Glory of God, and that because of our depravity we are separated from him. But, how beautiful is it to know, that God is not only holy, but forgiving. Reconciliation is the complete act of bonding that which was severed. God is a loving father who is waiting for his prodigal sons to return, he awaits the day, for which man will once again acknowledge the sacrifice for which he died. For Christ alone, &quot;elected&quot; to die, so that we may be eternally reconciled to the father and our rightful relationship with him can be completely restored. For in biblical reconciliation there is complete healing, complete hope, and complete love for which God is pleased and heaven rejoices because the father&#39;s children have returned.
