Today was harvest day in the grass is greener garden!... kind of ... four gorgeous radishes fresh from the garden + i was crazy excited...
i'd never seen radishes grow before so it was a bit of a treat for me seeing them make their way through the dirt *beam* arent they amazing!?!

for anyone who's ever had the 'yes you can' .... 'no you cant'... 'where did we put that guide' debate... burntfeather had created a 'good, bad + ugly' recycling guide that is pretty enough to hang...
and its free! you can get the download link here. I will print it tonight as a sweeter alternative to my initial plan of writing RINSE AND RECYCLE in orange paint across the kitchen wall.

why doesnt milk come in glass bottles any more?
it looks better. it tastes better. its colder. you can reuse the bottles.... i miss it *pout*
i miss it so much that ive kept my 'store below 4c . 600ml . wash and return' glass bottle through 4 moves... and this winter i've been feeling so nostalgic that ive started pouring carton milk into the bottle... i may only be a couple of cold mornings away from planting milk at the front door before i go to bed so i can bring it in for breakfast.
surely theres someone out there still selling organic non homogenised milk in glass bottles... surely...?
June was c.razy! there was so much i wanted to blog about *beam*... but didnt *frown* and the only way i can see to remedy this and fit an entire month of ness into this tiny blog space is a glee style bullet point catch up!
1. My sister flew in from Toronto! and we were inseparable for an entire month...
2.We took an insane 5 day/1600 km sisters only road trip...
4. we harvested nuts from the tree in our back yard and made cranberry, macadamia biscuits... they were amazing... so we ate most of them that night...
5. i got a pair of simple shoes for my birthday and now i only take them off to sleep...
5. my grandma turned 90!...
and that! was june *sigh*
i think i need a hot chocolate...

i dont know if everyone gets as excited about dental hygiene as i do, but ive been on the lookout for a sugar free, toxin free, responsibly packaged, doesnt taste like bicarb soda toothpaste to go with my super cool bamboo toothbrush since forever ago. and i think... ive just found it!... *happy dance*

i know its not officially winter yet, but theres a distinct *brrrr* factor to the mornings which tells me that winter proper cant be far off. so ive been bustling about building little warmth nests, winter-proofing the house and cooking like my food supply could run out any day now...because winters coming! *panic* and i could not survive winter without...
stewed rhubarb and creamy oats. I must dream about it because i wake up thinking about it and I honestly believe that if i didnt have this waiting for me every morning this winter id just stay in bed and hibernate.
