Shoe Collection: Chanel Cap Toes

I'm a total classic pump kind of girl. Even though you'd think they'd all be the same, they are all different to me in some way. I fell in love with these the moment that I saw them and they are just perfect to me.

I got mine at Nordstrom and unfortunately they aren't sold online (I don't think any Chanel merchandise is except for cosmetics, vintage jewelry and vintage bags) but I was there this weekend and they still had them AND they now have them in several colors! I love these two and they also had them in white with black cap toes.

They were definitely a splurge and I spent a full week contemplating if I should keep them or not but I was thoroughly convinced after one of my favorite enablers told me "You can wear them forever... You can be buried in them." I laughed but had to agree. :)

What I'm Wearing
LC Lauren Conrad Chiffon Blazer - I'm wearing the 0 but it does run on the small side, the boyfriend blazer that you saw on yesterday's post is a 0 as well but is much roomier.
Zara Butterfly Top (old) - another butterfly print top from Zara or very similar from F21 (and only $7.80!) or love this peachy butterfly print blouse.
Rag & Bone Zipper Jeans - also in blue. I also got these waxed jeans that look like leather. I love them! Such a cheaper alternative than getting actual leather pants. Oh and the capri fit of Rag & Bone jeans fit me perfectly! I never have to get them hemmed. (I know that I can't wear them until next fall but they are over 50% off and for rag & bone jeans, I get them anytime they are on sale!)
Manolo Blahnik pumps - also adore these cap toe pumps and I'm reaallly tempted to get these hot pink ones. Love!
t+j Designs Black & Gold Layer Necklace - this necklace is a lot lighter than it looks which I love. I can't stand it when necklaces are too heavy and put strain on my neck so that I have to take it off during the day, that's why we like to design lightweight necklaces! :)

It's not yet shorts season here but I can finally wear this chiffon blazer that I just love! It's the perfect lightweight blazer and I love that the sheer-ness of it. I have a lot of blazers but none like this. I'll tell you I never expected to find one of my favorite pieces at Kohl's but I did! It's also on super sale right now so I'd pick it up if I were you! :)

Kohl's Spring Trend Video

Back in March, Glam and Kohl's flew me out to New York to be in a fun video/photo shoot with a few other bloggers and the video is now up on Kohl's!

It was such a fun day and I got to meet and spend the day with some fabulous bloggers which is always nice. We each had a trend and mine was the color blocking trend with white as the focus. I adored all the outfits that they brought for me but loved the two that I ended up in as they are totally my kind of outfits.

This one was my favorite of the two. As you may know, I love blazers and after the shoot, I got to bring this home with me and it's been such a staple in my closet! You've seen it on me here and in cream here. And those shorts were so cute, all the girls at the shoot wanted them too!

Just a simple work outfit but had to share one of my new favorite tops. I find that heart prints are difficult to wear in a grown up way but this top is one of the few that I can actually wear to a client meeting. I've been living out of a suitcase lately and I mostly just packed these type of blouses. I can't get enough of them! I'm just loving all the different colors and prints. What I'm Wearing

Top: ASOS - no longer available, cute BCBG top in a pretty blue. This Forever 21 top is a great option for the summer and love all the colors! For $13.80 I think I'll pick up two colors!

Pants: ASOS Lace Skinny Pants - on sale! These lace pants are gorgeous as well (love that teaberry color) but I haven't had much luck with ASOS regular sizing pants. They run a bit big so if you are my size, stick with the petite sizing.

Shoes: Gucci Hollywood Pumps (in beige logo) - you can also get the "new hollywood pumps" in black and nude and they look a bit more comfortable because of the small platform in front.

Bag: Miu Miu Bow Bag - on another note, I love this mint Miu Miu clutch!

I went shopping last night and J Crew had the very popular Blythe Blouse on sale in this pretty yellow color. I had to let you know since it rarely goes on sale and when it does, it sells out really quickly. It's $59.99 in stores and online it's still $98! I'm wearing the 0 here but they said U Village has seven size 00's so head on over there or call them if you want one! I'm headed there tomorrow to get mine.

I had a few people ask me about strapless bras and what brand/style I prefer to wear but to tell you the truth, I can't stand strapless bras. I have never found one that doesn't slide down and is comfortable to wear for long periods of time. Since a few summers ago, I switched to bandeau bras to wear underneath dresses and tops that usually call for strapless bras and I love it! The fun part about bandeau bras is you can get so many fun colors so it can add a bit of an unexpected pop of color and it's not weird looking if it pops out. In fact, I try to make it part of the outfit most of the time. You can see how I wear it in this lookbook from a few summers ago.

If you are needing a bit of coverage, there are quite a few that do have cups built in. I actually really like these cheapies from Forever 21 and I always pick up a few different colors for the summer. Trust me when I tell you on a super hot day, these are so much more comfortable to wear than a regular bra. Once you try it, I'm sure you'll thank me! :)

Buy it here and polka dots here! I also have a few lace ones which actually look great underneath a too-low v-neck top. This one is my favorite.

I like how they paired it underneath a sheer top like this. I'm not brave enough to wear it like this, well maybe on vacation on a resort where I wouldn't be seeing many people :) But I do think it's a cute option!

Lauren Conrad Style

I admit to being a Laguna Beach addict back in the day. I loved the high school drama, relationships, friendships, etc... What I didn't expect was to end up loving the style of one of the girls from the show. Of course I'm talking about Lauren Conrad who, in the past few years, I've come to adore her style and am always looking at my celebrity magazines to see what she's wearing.

I've been taking self shot (remote/tripod) lookbooks lately (did you notice that this one was self shot?) and this was my first one that I was cursing my way through it. First my remote was malfunctioning so I was already frustrated with that, then the wind took over and I could not get one workable shot and then when I switched lenses I didn't realize my lens was not focusing correctly so that's why there are no full body shots. (It was too hard to tell in the viewfinder if it was focused or not because I was in the sun and I was already frustrated with the remote situation so wanted to get out of there.)

This is what most of my pictures look like. LOL! You should have seen me quick posing when the wind would take a few breaks to get as many shots possible before it kicked back up. I'm sure I looked hilarious! The things we do for our blogs right? :)

Butter London Lippy!

I'm not one to match my nails and toenails when painting my nails. I like mixing it up! However, have you ever thought of matching your nails to your lips? I haven't but when I saw the Butter London Lippy and the matching polish, I loved it!

Trout Pout Lippy and Nail Polish | Yummy Mummy Lippy and Nail Polish

I tried out Trout Pout which is a vibrant peachy-orange and Yummy Mummy which is a beige-y nude. I loved the combo so tried a scalloped mani. It didn't turn out as well as I'd like but wanted to show you the colors. They really go well together and Yummy Mummy is a great color on it's own for the "mannequin nail" trend.

It's really pink in that picture but Trout Pout is more orange in person. It's a lovely color and really great for the summer. And swatches of the Lippy glosses to show you that it comes out pretty true to the color shown in the tube. On the lips, they are true to the lip gloss consistency of being more sheer which I liked. So although they are pretty perfect matches in the tube, if you wear them together nobody will really notice that you are wearing the same color on your lips and nails, it just coordinates in a good way.

Trout Pout is my favorite on the lips as it's a perfect glossy peach that looks great on it's own or layered on top of lipstick. Yummy Mummy makes my lips look a little gray so I don't wear it alone but it works well to neutralize a too bright lipstick so I have been wearing it as a top gloss for my lipsticks.

These are my first Butter London polishes and I really like how creamy they go on. I barely needed a second coat! The Lippy glosses are really smooth on and are a bit sticky but not as bad as MAC Lipglass sticky. The one thing that I did not like was the fragrance of the lip glosses. It's almost a fruity scent, reminds me of watermelon candy. If you aren't a fan of fragrances in your make up then probably stay away but if you don't mind it, I do recommend these glosses.

Here are the other colors in the collection. I definitely want to get another but can't decide which one, I love all of them!

First of all, congratulations to my sister and her husband as their baby boy arrived yesterday! I'm an Aunt! So happy for them and I can't wait to meet my nephew soon.

Just a quick little post on some new additions to my closet that I am excited to wear...

Popover tunic in lifesaver print - fits slightly large so size down. Also comes in a paisley print.
Perfect shirt in leopard - I'm not a leopard print person at all but I have this shirt in purple paisley that I love (see it on me here) so I thought I'd give this a try and I actually really like it!
Cafe Capri in wool - also size down in these. I love the color and the length may be capri on tall people but it's perfect for us shorties! Have you seen the eyelet version of these pants? So pretty!

I usually have a few summer vacations planned out by now but my schedule is crazy these days as I'm traveling about 2 weeks out of the month so fitting in a vacation has been hard. I'm finally getting pretty close to booking a girl's weekend in Vegas and some time for hubs and I in Cabo so I'm excited just thinking about some beach time! Hapari let me pick out a suit from their site and I usually go for a printed bikini but this coral tankini caught my eye and I love having something different to wear to the beach/pool now! I was slightly weary of the molded cups but they actually fit great, the only thing is that it's made for someone with a much longer torso than me. When I wear the top, it actually comes down so far that it doesn't look like I'm wearing bottoms. Not good! So I'm going to have to take it to my tailor to shorten it. Other than that, I adore the color and the style. And those of you that have trouble finding bottoms that fit (if you have a flat butt like me) these are perfect! No droopy butt!

I love long sleeve dresses and actually wear them a lot in the spring so I've been pulling all my dresses out lately. LAmade recently sent over this gorgeous floral dress that I think will be perfect for an outdoor wedding that I'm going to. I'm going to pair it with some bright pink shoes!

Some new sparkly flats! I will have to say though, that the first time I wore these they were super painful because they were so tight! I ended up stuffing the toes with some thick gym socks to stretch them out for a few days and now they fit fine.

Also a follow up on my Gap shopping post, I ordered the red pants in petite sizing since the sizes in store were too big on me but these pants in petite are so hilariously short! While the sizing was fine in the waist, the inseam was so short that it looked like I was wearing weird crop flare pants. Even in flats! Not cute at all. Just wanted to let those of you know that were thinking about trying the petite sizing. Probably best only if you are shorter than me (I'm 5'2").

And I ordered the maxi dress in pink but the front was so weird and bunchy that it looked terrible. Stick with the striped one as it hides that bunching a lot more. So no luck there, returning both!

* LC Lauren Conrad Boyfriend Blazer (c/o Kohl's) - I told you I wear these blazers a lot. This is my typical lazy Sunday outfit so I reach for them almost every weekend. The Lauren Conrad stuff is so cute. I recently bought this Chiffon Blazer that's even more gorgeous in person. I'll have a lookbook soon with it.
* Jennifer Lopez Foil Tank (c/o Kohl's) - you know how some tanks end up really wrinkly and don't look so great under blazers? This one is a little bit stiffer so you don't get the weird wrinkles. There's a hint of shimmer to it but not too much so it's great for daytime.
*Blank NYC Skinny Jeans (on sale) - they just got in these jeans in metallic coated! I'm intrigued, going to try them out.
*Light as a Feather Scarf (gift from Happy Scarf) - comes in black too. I love the pattern of this scarf and it's so light and soft. I wore it a ton this winter but it's also light enough to wear in the spring.
*Manolo Blahnik sequin pumps - (similar in black and in metallic) these are the ones that I got at Century 21 that you saw in my March Photos post. I thought that I might not wear them so much because of the sequins but actually the sequins make them even more appealing to wear them a ton!

There are a few celebrities whose style I adore and Olivia Palermo is definitely on the top of the list. She always puts together the most amazing outfits so effortlessly and I love that she's great with pairing high and low end things together and just making it look fabulous. I have tumbled or pinned her outfits so many times that I feel like I should stop, I may be on the border of obsessive!

I was asked to pull together an outfit "mocking" my favorite celebrity style so when I saw this photo of Olivia, I knew immediately that I wanted to copy it.

I adore this pink blazer but do not get enough wear out of it as I seem to have a hard time pairing it with stuff in my closet. I love that Olivia paired it with dark neutrals and especially the leather shorts. I don't own any leather shorts (still on the hunt!) so my "mock up" is a little different but nonetheless love the pink blazer paired with the shorts and button down.

Sunday Sunday

My husband and I take our weekends very seriously. Seriously in that we don't get to see each other as much during the week as we used to so we savor our time together on the weekends and I look forward to the weekend more than when I was at an office job and I just wanted the weekend to come so I didn't have to be at the office. Now that I work from home and work basically every hour that I'm not asleep my work life has just simply become "life" but I'm enjoying every moment of it. I've never imagined that I could do this (be a small business owner/jewelry designer) but here I am doing it and really truly appreciating this time in my life.

Our Sundays are usually busy doing typical errands but to spend time doing even these mundane things with my husband is something that I look forward to. I recently took my camera along for a typical Sunday for us and thought I'd share!

We either go out for a full on brunch or just a coffee and pastry so this day we decided it would be Coffee and Pastry day so went over to Grand Central Bakery. Hubs got the seasonal danish (that you saw here when we got it last time) and I went with a cinnamon bun this time. (That's my DIY glitter clutch in the corner.)

Next stop was Trader Joe's. Only the best grocery store EVAR. Seriously, why is this place so fun to go to? My favorite section, of course is the wine section. I always buy wine for the week and usually try to pick out something new and different but stock up on our favorites too.

We are totally the people that go to multiple grocery stores because I'm sort of picky about produce and although I adore Trader Joe's, I'm not as big of a fan of their produce. Which brings us to Metropolitan Market which has the best produce section. When I walk in there, I'm enticed to buy carrots and celery just because they make it look so pretty. Don't know how they do it but they make their produce displays so nice that you want to buy everything, but not just looks, their produce really is the best in terms of freshness and taste.

Their flower section is always beautiful too. I love perusing their flowers and deciding which ones to bring home for the week.

Gourmet raspberry marshmallows! Um, yeah, that's why I must stay away from their bakery/sweets section because it's filled with delightful things like this that cost an arm and a leg but so hard for me to resist.

And just some of the produce I brought home. I couldn't resist the beautiful meyer lemons and made lemon bars from them. Sidenote: the best recipe is from the The Grand Central Baking Book (yup the same place where we started the day from!) and these Sumo oranges where I haven't seen anywhere else, were the sweetest most delicious oranges I've ever had. We went back the next weekend to stock up on some more!

So there you go, a very boring Sunday but still fun to me :) What are your Sunday's like? Do you do all your errands like I do or do you just veg on the couch? I do have to say though that our Sunday's are very dependent on the weather, if it's gross and rainy, the couch is the best place to be!

Prada or Proenza?

I'm officially on the hunt for a new bag and every time I go to Nordstrom I try on a bunch of bags but I always go back to the Prada Tote or PS1 Keep All and I seriously can not decide which one to get! I'm definitely leaning towards a tote as the last few bags that I bought are less structured and I'm needing something with a bit of room in it so that I can travel with it too.

I love the shape of the Prada and Nordstrom actually has it in this really pretty nude/light camel color that goes with everything. I'm leaning more towards the one in the middle that has the zipper pockets than the open tote, but how gorgeous are those pinks? I really like this bag also because I know it will be a classic forever and I can't imagine ever getting tired of it.

And then I was looking around at Miu Miu bags and found this tote in lots of pretty colors. Unfortunately I don't have a Miu Miu store near me (or any store that carries Miu Miu) so I haven't seen it in person and don't know how it looks on but I adore my Miu Miu bow bag and the leather they use is always super soft so I'm tempted to order it.

And then just for fun, I saw that Proenza Schouler has these wallets in all these colors and for less than $200, I thought it was a good price considering most designer items, even their wallets are well into the hundreds. It looks like the perfect pouch to keep my credit cards and keys when I don't feel like bringing my entire wallet. I often don't travel with my entire wallet in case something happens, you don't want to have to report all your cards lost/stolen so I just bring what I need. Plus I can use it as a mini clutch when I go out at night and don't want to carry a bag. Double duty, love it!

Oh and I have to say that a new Chanel is also not out of the question but considering the prices of a Chanel bag, compared to these, I'm doubtful I'll get one. What I’m Wearing

*Blazer: LC by Lauren Conrad (gifted from my Kohl’s photo shoot) - I actually have all 3 colors of this blazer and I wear them A LOT. Like I said before in my Kohl's post, I'm really impressed with the quality of their stuff. These are the perfect boyfriend blazers, they go with so many things and a great price. Sizing - I'm wearing a 0 and I'd say size down if you are unsure.

*Jeans: J Crew Factory Destroyed Matchstick Jean - on sale! – they run much smaller than regular J Crew jeans. Also, they are a bit stiff so not the most comfortable jeans.

*Shoes: YSL TribToo pumps – love these gray stitch ones too! My first lookbook with these! I adooore these shoes, they are one of my top favorites from my collection. On this day, I wore these babies shopping all day long and they were super comfortable.

*Bag: Summer Tote (gift from simply-bags.com) I’ve never owned a monogram bag before and I’ve been eyeing a few beach bags for some upcoming summer trips so I was excited to get this very happy yellow bag and of course had to get the embroidery in pink! I know it’s an odd bag to go with the outfit but since I can’t get to the beach now, it’s acting as my grocery/carry all bag and I love the gigantic-ness of it! It fits everything! Plus the yellow print is just so cheery, I like that it reminds me that summer is just around the corner.

I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect pair of boyfriend jeans and while I like these, I don’t love them. Also, after seeing the pictures, I can definitely see that they need to be shortened as I cuffed them but they look funny because they are still too long. I'm also adjusting to the boyfriend jean look as somebody that has lived in skinny jeans for the past few years this transition is huge to me! But I really like the look of them so just need to find the right pair. I find that the true boyfriend jeans don’t work for me since I am already short legged, the baggy + looseness of traditional boyfriend jeans makes me look even more short. So I’m looking for a pair of “skinny boyfriend” jean if you know what I mean so if you guys have recommendations, let me know! I've got my eye on this pair from Madewell or this one from J. Crew. I think I need to get to the mall this week!

Shopping in the boy's department

Just a random quick post on a great deal that I found that I had to share! I'm not one to usually shop in the children's section. I know that I can maybe fit into the stuff but there's always something that's a little off about the fit so I just don't even bother trying. Anyway, I've been traveling and forgot to refill my travel kit (I always keep a toiletry bag full of stuff so I don't have repack it every time) and I ran out of toothpaste so I ran into a Target to get some when I walked by the little boy's section and a chambray shirt caught my eye. My first instinct was to keep on walking but then I thought "why not?". I wasn't sure what size I would be and they only had a M (which looked too small) and an XL (which looked too big). I looked around and nearby were these cute plaid button ups that were similar so I took a chance, grabbed one Medium and one Large and tried them on. And guess what? I was quite pleasantly surprised how well they fit! The shoulders of the size M were perfect on me and the problem that I always have with women's button up tops, the chest gap, wasn't even an issue! OH and the best part? They are $12.99! Here's a few pictures of the fit.

Here's the Medium in this cute purple plaid (sorry for the blurry pictures, I had coffee and nothing to eat so was a bit jittery). The length is a bit short but since I plan to always tuck it in, it works fine and I'm really happy with how it fits in the shoulder. Sleeve wise, it's also bit short but that works to my advantage since I always roll up my sleeves so I have less fabric to roll up. I didn't love this color/pattern (I felt way too businessman-ish) so I didn't end up getting this one.

And the Large in this awesome blue plaid. I actually really like this one but the fit was pretty baggy which is okay, if you want to wear it super casually like with shorts in the summer which would be cute, but I wanted something more fitted so went back to grab the medium.

So I went back to the rack and unfortunately they didn't have the blue in a M but they did have it in grey which I bought and I went back to grab the Chambray one in M, which I had initially thought would be too small but turns out it's the perfect fit!

You'd be surprised by the quality of these as they are lightweight but not too thin and stiff enough for the collars to lay flat and for the sleeves to stay rolled up. Compared to some Forever 21 shirts that I've tried on, I'd say these are better quality. And something else that I noticed are the buttons are sewn on really well. I hate when I get button up shirts and half the buttons feel like they are ready to fall off.

And another detail I love is the inside of the collar has a fun surprise! Such a cute and unexpected detail.

So anyway, I was just so excited to find these kind of shirts that I usually pay way more for (like the ones I get at Madewell and J Crew) for such a great price and wanted to let you guys know too! Let me know if you guys try them out too! There are more colors online than in the stores too! I think I may be ordering the blue one.

*Chloe Marcie - Mine was from last season so the color is not available anymore. (I do love this light gray color too) I love my bag, however a little disappointed that the leather hasn't softened up much. It creates the weird wrinkles at the bottom of the bag (because of all the crap I carry) but also because the leather is still pretty stiff. Other than that though, I love the size and shape and it's really comfortable to carry.

I was recently sent the John Freida Volume Curls Curling Iron which I had to mention because I'm seriously in love with it. I have both expensive and inexpensive curling irons and this one (which is at a great price point and on sale) may have replaced all of them! And coupled with the Yuko Anti Frizz Leave In Conditioner (which is heat activated so perfect to use when curling my hair) my hair has been quite cooperative lately which makes me happy. What is it about having a good hair day that puts you in a good mood? :)

The Blythe Blouse is not on sale but I've wanted to see how it fit as I debated ordering the petite sizing online. It's still a bit roomy which I'm okay with on shirts like this but hoping that the sides will be a bit slimmer in petite sizing so am going to order online.

Love the blue and the stripes of the sweatshirt however, the stripes were a tad too wide and I felt made me look bigger so I didn't get it. However, I did love the overall fit, especially the sleeve length. Since I didn't like the stripes but I did like the fit, I'm going to try the solid color version (although it's not on sale). The pink is perfect for me!

Adore the jacket but the XS was still a bit boxy on me and they didn't have a smaller size. I'm sure it was probably pretty popular since it's so adorable. I'm still on the hunt for my size though! The perfect shirt is cheaper in stores ($39.99) so if you like it, I'd check in stores first. It's a really cute top and I love the print. The size down probably would've fit better but for the price I figured I'd just make it work.

I already have the Talitha top in another paisley print which I love so I passed on this because I didn't love the colors as much. They also have it in Peacock Paisley which I like a lot better but didn't see in stores. Size wise, it's definitely a bit bigger than something like the Blythe Blouse so expect this one to be a little less fitted. I don't own any animal print clothes as it's just not something I'm really attracted to but I liked the big print of this leopard tank and thought it would be cute to wear under a v-neck sweater or cardigan with just a pop of the print peeking out. This top is also cheaper in stores ($19.99).

You may remember this gingham shirt from my Madewell shopping party that I styled with the Spot Show Cardigan. I didn't get it at the event but then I came back and it was on sale! Yay! I love the color as it's more of a peach than these photos which looks more orange. I know it's far from shorts season but when I saw these shorts marked down I had to get them as I love the look of dressy shorts in the summer. (ignore the top, I know it completely doesn't match. LOL) They have a hint of sparkle to them as there are some glitter threads sewn in but it's subtle in a good way. These will look great dressed up with a blazer and heels for the summer.

It's not super flattering here but I loved the color and fit of the topnote cardigan so it came home with me. I wore it yesterday and love it. It's a nice thick quality and looks and feels more expensive than it is (especially on sale!). Online they have a ton more colors than they did in store. I think I might order the purple. I, along with everyone else, has jumped on the mint trend but I don't have any tops this color. I think it's one of those colors that's best left as an accent color (or accessory like our mint jeweled necklace) on me because I wasn't a huge fan. However, the fit of the tee is great and I like how the sleeves are a bit longer as I really do not like my tees having short little sleeves. Mainly because I hate my upper arms so anything that covers them up is better for me! For $16.99 and 20% off it's such a good deal so I'm going to pick up a couple of different colors online.

Doesn't the color of the top remind you of a traffic cone? I've never worn this color before and didn't expect to love it as much as I do! Maybe I love it just because the top is so pretty. I love all the intricate detailing of the design and the nude lining underneath. I wanted to wear this top out for our weekly Sunday brunch but it was a bit dressy so I added some dark neutrals to play it down. Also, I really wanted to mention the time and care that Yoana and her team took from the gorgeous wrapping to the handwritten card from the designer herself. It was so kind of her to send me this top and I seriously love it so much. I'm going to wear it all summer!

March was probably one of my busiest months ever and I loved every moment of it. I started it out with a quick trip to NYC where at the very last minute (literally I was getting on the plane) I found out that the fabulous Jean was going to be there at the same time so we planned a meetup that night after I landed! She's as lovely in person as she is online. It's always so nice to meet online friends in person!

And the reason I was in NYC? For a video/photo shoot for Kohl's! It was SO much fun to get my hair and make up done and meet the other fabulous bloggers that were going to be in the shoot. The photo shoot was fun, the video shoot was nerve wracking (you'll see it on the Kohl's website next month, I think) but it was a fun and fabulous experience!

Well, I couldn't leave NYC without doing some shopping right? I stumbled upon the Century 21 shoe store and I went nuts! Look at all the pretties I found in MY SIZE! You know how hard it is to find shoes in a size 5 so to find all of these highly discounted designer shoes in my size, I was SO happy. From L to R, Lanvin, Manolo, Manolo. All were under $300!

Here's what I ended up getting. Manolo sequin pumps and Casadei animal print pumps. The funny thing, most of my pumps are round toes so these are my first pointy toes and now I'm obsessed with the shape!

When I got back, my weeks were pretty much filled with events. One of which, the opening of Blackbird Apothecary that I went to with the gorgeous Rachel and the gorgeous (and tall!) Carolyn. So lovely to meet Carolyn in person after at least of year of talking about meeting up. She's the sweetest and I adore her blog!

I was lucky enough to be invited to the grand opening of the new downtown Seattle location of the Nordstrom Rack before it opened to the public. I LOVE the new location, seriously it is 10x better than the old one! I was also able to find some pretty good finds! Manolos on the left and Marc by Marc Jacobs pumps on the right.

But I ended up with a pair of sassy little red Rag & Bone Oxfords! They are so not "me" but they were cute and so comfy so I decided to mix things up and leave the heels behind this time. I also got bright blue jeans from Paige Denim and a couple of bright tops. (Oh and they were super nice to give us a giftcard to shop with! Thank you to Nordstrom Rack for inviting me and putting together a great event!)

These Chanel babies were not at the rack, but at the regular Nordstrom and I fell IN LOVE. Aren't they gorgeous? I hemmed and hawwed and put them back because of the price tag. But then I spent a month dreaming about them and they actually came home with me this weekend!

Cupcakes from Cake Envy, hands down my favorite cupcake place in Seattle and not because the owner is the sweetest girl ever (she is) even if she was a big B I'd still eat their cupcakes! LOL! And on the right are buttermilk bacon and cheese biscuits that I made loosely following Barefoot Contessa's recipe. They are soooo good.

These two pictures aren't related but I liked them together. haha. The birthday cake was for my Mother in-law and is also from Cake Envy and on the right is a present (to me - I told you not related) from the amazing designer, Yoana Baraschi that I love. I can't wait to show you guys!

And now just random snapshots that make no sense but I just wanted to include them. Hehe.

We bought my nephew these little shoes from H&M. He has really wide feet and so we were worried they wouldn't fit but they did and he was so cute running around in them! We liked the sockless look. I'm not sure mom and dad did though. ha! That's why we get to be the "fun" aunt and uncle right? ;)

At the end of March, we finally got some sun! So I pulled out my bright pink shirt (from Nordstrom Rack) and took the doggies on a walk to see all the pretty Cherry Blossoms blooming. Also wearing the Charmed Key Crystal Necklace from our new Charming collection.

Oh! I have to mention that I'm still using the Maybelline Illegal Lengths Mascara and it's still amazing! It really adds length to your lashes and the waterproof one is great, no smudging at all.

I love putting together these posts because I always forget how much stuff happens in a month! Don't you just love that about your camera phones? It's so easy to capture everything now!

Shopping with me! (Forever 21 and Gap)

I haven't been shopping in awhile (well, actual in store shopping, I do a lot of online shopping!) especially at Forever 21 so I thought I'd take you guys along for one of these "dressing room" posts so you could see what I tried on. I get a lot messages that you like these shopping posts especially with sizing and fit so I tried to explain the fit and the fabric, etc... that I found especially if you want to order online. I couldn't find some of the things online but Forever 21 is pretty bad with that, I feel like when I go in store I always find a ton of stuff that I like that's not online.

First off is this Chanel-esque cardigan that looked cute on the hanger but it was a bit bulky on me and gave me a few extra inches that I definitely do not want! :) Otherwise the fit was great (wearing a small) and the knit was nice and thick (which was what contributed to my chunkiness but in terms of quality it seemed to be a better knit than most of their sweaters). Update: Looks like the cardigan already sold out. Here's one that similar and looks slimmer! I may try this one out.

Contrast Cable Knit Cardigan | Wide Leg Pants

The pants are way more green in person. These also had the potential to be great but the fit was bad in my size and they didn't have a size down for me to try on. It had a lot of fabric in the waist/crotch area and I'm kinda holding the pants up by my waist to show how it would look at my waist but really it kinda drooped even lower. With that said, if these fit you, they would make great work pants! The material they used was nice and thick and I liked the silhouette of the wide leg (I would need to get them hemmed) but I feel like the quality of these were much nicer than other pants that I've tried on at F21.

The heart sweatshirt just reminded me so much of when I was a kid and I loved my neon tops back then. I'm wearing a size M here because I think the looser fit is much cuter with these kind of tops. The top was a bit itchy on the inside (you know the cheap sweatshirt material feel) so I'd recommend wearing a tank top underneath.

Retro Heart Top | Dotted Woven Top

The orange polka dot shirt was a random pick because I don't tend to wear orange ever. But I liked the shape and the polka dots. I ended up really liking this top and it came home with me. (Obviously have a thing for polka dots as you can see with my phone. hehe). This is a size XS as it's from their "Love21" line which fits slightly bigger. I have it slightly tucked in but the top isn't too much longer than that which works for tucking in so doesn't create bunching. The fabric is like a lightweight and sheer but fully lined except the sleeves.

I totally fell in love with this dress when I saw it. It looks a lot more expensive than it is. I love the navy with the bright dots and the fit is actually perfect which I rarely find in Forever 21 dresses. It's one of those faux wrap dresses so it's got a side zipper. Wearing a size small.

Dotted Surplice Dress

I own so many button up shirts as they are the easiest thing to toss in my suitcase when I'm traveling for work. Add a pair of trousers and simple jewelry for a super easy client meeting outfit (that's also easily packable). I've never tried one on at Forever 21 and I will admit was very surprised by the quality of this one. I really like that it was thick and stiff which meant the collar stayed down when I wanted it to and the sleeves stayed rolled up. I always have issues with button downs with the gaping in the chest area which was the problem here so I passed but for $13, a steal if it fits you!

Pink Button Up (similar) | Heritage Heart Print Button Up (Not available online)

The blouse on the right is a heart print which was really cute but for a size small the shoulders were huge. You can't see the seams but they were at least a inch down my shoulder instead of on it like the pink top. Super cute but I had to pass because of the fit. It did remind me a lot of the Dot Blouse that I tried on at J Crew in my last shopping post!

Neither of these are online either but I had to show you how large this dress is! That's why ordering online is so hard when sizing is so all over the place. I know it's supposed to be flowy but this is just silly. :) This is a Rory Becca for Forever 21 dress. I really wanted to like it, especially because I love long sleeve dresses but this was just a tent on me and the big sleeves didn't help. Wearing a size small. I did buy this ruffle top from the line when it first came out and it fits TTS.

The polka dot maxi skirt is super cute and runs small. I was wearing a size small and I had to hike it up my waist to fit into it. I didn't feel like it was flattering on me so I passed, but I still think it's a cute skirt. Oh and there's a high slit on one side which makes it easier to walk and a bit sexier of a look so not appropriate for work. (when I took the picture, I almost did the Angelina Jolie Leg Pose for the photo. I was very tempted. haha!)

After I left Forever 21, I ventured over to the GAP because it's really close to the Forever 21 store but mainly because I really wanted to try these yellow jeans on that I had spied online and wanted to see how they fit. I haven't shopped at the Gap in quite a bit so was pleasantly surprised to see some other cute stuff in there.

First, this maxi dress that doesn't need hemming! From the model online you can see it falls to her ankles which works just fine for us shorties. :) I love maxi dresses and it's almost impossible to find ones that I don't have to hem. I'm standing on my tip toes here but I'd wear it with heels or wedges anyway so it's perfect length. I'm wearing an XS. I went home and looked it up and they also have it in solid colors so I ordered the pink and it's on it's way to me!

OK so onto the yellow jeans which for the price are fantastic! However, the color just didn't work for me. I think I love them on other people but not on me. They had other colors too but I didn't try them on but if you are still looking for colored jeans, they are worth a try! They were a nice weight with a good amount of stretch. I'm wearing the 00 (regular sizing - they do have petite sizing online) so I'd say they run big as I'm usually a 0/25 in jeans.

Isn't this top so cute? I spotted the red pants first and then this top and thought it would be a good outfit. I like it but I think I'm going to wait to see if it'll go on sale. I love the ruffles at the collar. I'm wearing the XS and fit is slightly big in the sides and a little long but nothing that a little tucking in can't fix.

Oh how I wish the red pants worked but I'm wearing the smallest size they had in store (0) which was too big. I LOVE them though! They are such a great color and I think a great work pant if you want to mix things up. They are cotton and it's not too heavy so a great fabric for the hotter months. I did order them online but they only had a Petite 00 left which might be too small on me so crossing my fingers that they'll fit.

Nike Free Run iD

I'm an equal opportunist for all my shoes. I love my heels as much as I love my flats and even more surprisingly, I love my workout shoes. Admittedly the sneaker love is influenced by my husband as he loves sneakers and when I first met him I knew nothing about them (or cared to). When we'd go to the gym, I'd sport my old high school cheerleading shoes (yikes!) but soon enough he taught me the ways of exercising in appropriate workout shoes and not just appropriate but good looking workout shoes! We are pretty biased towards Nike so everything I own is by Nike but in my opinion, they make the prettiest sneakers so that's why I stick with them. :) Nike asked me to try out their Nike Free Run iD on Facebook to create my very own Nike Free Run shoes and how could I resist? I finally get to design my own pretty workout shoes!

It was actually a lot harder than I thought to create my shoe but I had a lot of fun. Not hard in a bad way, hard in a way that I just could not settle on one color and changed colors about 20 times! I love that you are able to customize the color of everything down to the swoosh!

You start with a totally gray shoe and then you are able to change the color to their standard choices, but they have great options. I tend to love gray shoes so I kept it but I've always loved this hot pink and the funny thing is, whenever I find a Nike shoe that's pink and gray that I like, everywhere is always sold out of my size (or I'm told they don't even get a size 5 in that shoe) so I'm excited that I can finally create one of my own!

And here's what I ended up with! Cute right? Do you see the STYLE and ISH on the tongue? I love it! I have this thing about neons on my gym shoes, I gotta have it! I picked my two favorite neon colors. I love them so much and had fun designing them. Can't wait to try them out at the gym!
