“Then immediately, an angel of the Lord struck him, because he did not give glory to God. And he was eaten by worms and died.”

This scripture speaks of Herod Agrippa I. Agrippa was a terrible ruler and terrorist to the entire land. In his line of reigning despots was a grandfather (Herod the Great) who killed the children trying to get rid of the promised king – Jesus.

Agrippa’s father was then Herod Antipas, who beheaded John the Baptist and was an enemy to Jesus and all believers as well as a vicious ruler over the Jewish people.

One of the darkest days in history was that fatal night when Herod the Great ordered and thus brutally murdered the children in Bethlehem along with anyone who tried to stop the massacre. It’s quite probable that people that witnessed that night in Bethlehem were still living in that region of the grandson, Agrippa. That would mean that they were also there at the beheading of John the Baptist and the heinous crimes of state against the Carpenter’s Son.

Right under the noses of these wicked rulers, were the miracles of Yeshua prominently displayed, and the compassion of the Creator was victoriously overcoming the designed hatred of the systems – strategies – of evil.

Historically speaking, after Herod Antipas got deported, and his son, Herod Agrippa, was made king, there were probably still parents alive whose children were murdered by Herod the Great – this new Herod’s evil grandfather. The people had been under the corrupt rulership of Herod’s for at least four generations.

And yet the recipients of the Herods’ torturous rulership were still alive while this Herod Agrippa I was ruling in his inherited pompous pride.

He made quite a speech that day. He may have been patronized a bit by the crowd, but he accepted their praise and perhaps their manipulative flattery. His ego reigned over any proper sense of leadership. Like the others before him, this Herod served himself and not the people he governed. He missed the point of life altogether. It cost him his life, and justice was served by “an angel of the Lord.”

This Herod allowed his ego to reign with sovereignty over his thought life. Protecting himself and doing whatever made him feel good was his ruling paradigm. This leader/king paraded himself powerful, making every excuse in the book as to why he should be a tyrant.

Some of the same extreme thinking and behavior can be in any person of leadership. Parenting, supervision, teaching, pastoring, or mentoring can have egomania that is harmful to all concerned.

I feel that this scripture is a much-needed look into the justice that prevails in God’s dynamic Kingdom. Without a cleansing of the heart, all leadership is egotistical false authority instead of servitude. Both following and leading must be love-based.

Knowledge, wisdom, and understanding are not prerequisites to be a leader.

In the short story of Agrippa’s life, worms are a figure of speech that portrays the decay of the body – the decay of life. Worms do not signify life abundantly.

Jesus came to give us a “zoe” kind of life. {zoe = Greek for superfluous life given by God alone}. ((John 10:10 NKJV; “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life “zoé” and that they may have it more abundantly.” John 10:10 Amplified Bible; “The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance – to the full, till it overflows.”))

The cleansing process can be complicated if you hold onto your ego with pride of ownership or fear the disappearance of your identity. Cleansing your speech is a good beginning, but knowing that there is life in putting the egotism to death is the path to a peace-filled life without strife and antagonism with the heart of God in all matters.

Then there is the praise release that we have available by honoring the Presence and the works of the Lord. All things come from Him. All that I have belongs to Him. All that I am is undoubtedly His as well. The Lord never strokes my ego, and I need not try to stroke His. I cannot patronize nor flatter the Creator of all that exists. His truth prevails – always. Thanksgiving with sincere gratitude for His providence will unite heaven with earth. His providence is all wisdom and knowledge, power, glory, and strength.

Giving glory to the Lord cannot become some religious phrase or rote statement, but a heartfelt thesis proclaimed by the one whose ego is removed from the factor and is not ashamed to give the glory where the glory is due.

You see, “the thief comes to steal, kill and destroy, but I am come that you might have life, {zoe} and that you might have it more abundantly.” – Jesus Christ ((ibid; John 10:10))

This Jesus-kind of love-based life is the opposite of the worms. (You need worms for fishing, maybe. You might need some worms for the garden, too.)

Pride-filled egomania of your identity crisis is something you don’t need. Those worms that decay your life one morsel at a time are not what you want or need.

When your focus is upon your leadership, then the only person you are genuinely serving is you.
When your focus is upon the people you are serving, then you are too busy building a safe-haven for the people so that they may prosper.
Neither you as the leader nor the people you serve ought to focus on your great leadership. That’s where worms congregate.

The scripture should be a word of warning to the politicians of our day. You know the ones who say they are serving the public but are actually working their politics with themselves in mind and would never bring any hardship to themselves on behalf of the people they should be serving. Thus, they invite patronage and flattery and will do anything needed for the vote, for the money, for the power. Worms are inevitable.

The end never justifies the means. Never. Only love justifies.

Abstain from these evils. Work with the Holy Spirit on your own heart.

“But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.” ((Jude 20))

by: Wayne C. Anderson

Idols are evil principal spirits. They are the rebellious sons of God. They are watchers and angels of darkness.

We have evil principal spirits embedded into our society that are working their agendas and sorcery to deceive even the elect.

From the beginning, everything begins with frequency – the voice.

The voice of the Creator said, “Light Be.”

Moses was sent to the children of Israel to set them free from Pharoah and the evil principal spirits of Egypt, with their strategically named Idols of worship. Israel (without any choice) developed in Egypt their voices of love to the inconsistencies of those evil principal spirits. The people spoke of their love unto the idols that represented the evil principal spirits.

So, God heard their groaning, and God remembered
His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
God saw the sons of Israel, and God took notice of them.

Exodus 2:24-25 (NASB)

But the Creator had to introduce Himself to Moses:

He said also, “I am the God of your father,
the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.”
Then Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God.

Exodus 3:6 (NASB)

Moses knew that when Yahovah spoke to him and commanded him to go back to Egypt and free the children of Jacob/Israel, there would be great confusion. Moses needed the Name of the voice that commanded him from that burning bush. The evil principal spirits are all gods (elohim), and they confused the society of Egypt along with the people of Israel with their egotistical arrogance.

Notice that the phrase “God of your father…” Four times, “the God of… is used. This is to extinguish the thought of any other god and to draw attention to the Name of Moses’ lineage with YHVH, the God of his father(s). This has within it a message for today’s Ekklesia – government of Christ – to witness the God Who is Christ in every proclamation and decree.

It is little wonder that:

The name YHVH is a strong tower,
the righteous runs into it and is safe.

Proverbs 18:10

The evil principal spirits are all gods. They are all in a severe identity crisis. They need human worship/lovers to call upon their names. That is what they do, and how they work is for that purpose.

In Egypt, through Moses, the children of Jacob/Israel learned the Name of the God (Elohim) that their fathers served. He is the Holy One – the Creator of all that exists.

Moses said to God, “When I come to the Israelites
and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’
and they ask me, ‘What is His name?’
What shall I say to them?”

And God said to Moses, “Ehyeh-Asher-Ehyeh.” {I am Who I am}
He continued, “Thus shall you say to the Israelites,
‘YHVH sent me to you.’”

And God said further to Moses, “Thus shall you speak to the Israelites: YHVH, the Elohim of your fathers,
the Elohim of Abraham, the Elohim of Isaac,
and the Elohim of Jacob, has sent me to you.

This shall be My name forever,
this My appellation for all eternity.

Exodus 3:13-15 (Hebrew Scriptures)

Yet, in their confused state, they could not leave their idols of worship that they loved.

“But God turned away and delivered them up
to serve the host of heaven; as it is written in the book
of the prophets, ‘IT WAS NOT TO ME THAT YOU OFFERED
VICTIMS AND SACRIFICES FORTY YEARS
IN THE WILDERNESS, WAS IT, O HOUSE OF ISRAEL?
YOU ALSO TOOK ALONG THE TABERNACLE OF MOLOCH
AND THE STAR OF THE GOD ROMPHA,
THE IMAGES WHICH YOU MADE TO WORSHIP.
I ALSO WILL REMOVE YOU BEYOND BABYLON.’

Our fathers had the tabernacle of testimony
in the wilderness, just as He who spoke to Moses
directed him to make it according
to the pattern which he had seen.”

Acts 7:42-44 (NASB)

The Ark of the Covenant with the shekinah glory in the middle of the camp, and they were so confused by the way the evil principal spirits strategically trained them that they still murdered babies and performed their immoral rituals in view of that Holy Tabernacle. They couldn’t break loose from the popular even though the Presence was manifested in their midst.

The principal of hiding His Name (The Name – HaShem) is due to the confusion of those evil principal spirits. If you know this Name and have it as your inheritance, and you use this Name for your evil vanities in life, you are as dumb as a rock.

“You shall not take the name of YHVH your Elohim in vain; for YHVH will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.”

(vain swearing as in oath)

Deuteronomy 5:11 (from Hebrew)

Notice that the phrase “YHVH your Elohim” clearly states the Name of the God you serve. Throughout the scriptures, you will find this phrase repeated. Most versions say, “the LORD your God,” which means that your God is YHVH and no other. You don’t say, “Molech, my god!” At least, not on purpose.

What most do not see in this phrase is that speaking His Holy Name and annunciating YHVH as your God (Elohim) breaks down the confusion of the idols that are set in society, and the believer is able to take a victorious stance over evil.

The Ekklesia can halt any love/worship of those idols and start commanding them to stand down.

HaShem (Hebrew: The Name)

The Name YHVH is not held secret and should not be covered up with the phrase “the LORD,” or any other concocted idea of legalistic religion.

Abraham connected with YHVH his God swearing to Him his allegiance fully.

“I have lifted up my hand to Yahovah – Elohim – Elyon,
the possessor of Heaven & earth.”

Genesis 13:22

The scriptures give many victorious, descriptive Names that show us His conquering abilities:

YHVH-Nissi is our banner of victory and our miracle-working authority from the great throne.

Elyon is God-Most High.

The list is innumerable. Each name is known to be a description of YHWH and His character and culture of love and freedom that He gives to those who dare to believe in His Name only, above every other god’s name.

YHVH {Yahovah}, Elohim {God}, Adonai, Elyon {God Most High}, Who is Jesus Christ (the name above names), does not control people and does not even control creation. He created all but has no desire to control it. He made it and called it good.

Evil gods, the principal spirits of evil manipulations upon the earth, have continually lied and built a façade that suggests their control, and they have infiltrated that scheme into the Christ-believers and weakened Christ’s authority by trying to make Him “in control.”

Evil takes strategic illegal-immoral advantages of creation, and God, along with Christ-believers, steps up and takes charge.

Control is bondage. Control makes people lazy-minded. Control is weakness, not strength.

The absolute wisdom of the Father Who separated His Son from Himself to appear on earth as fully man was the strategic blow to every evil spirit’s power and principal authority, including their false witness and identities. The historic battlefield of Golgotha drew the whole of heaven’s evil forces to watch the murder of the Real Son of God. In the midst of their gloating, the Lamb rose from the dead because the grave did not have the power to hold Him. The Real Son of God arose victorious and went back to the Father as ONE.

“Being found in appearance as a man,
He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death,
even death on a cross. For this reason, also,
God highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him
the name, which is above every name,
so that at the name of Jesus, every knee will bow,
of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and that every tongue will confess that
Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Philippians 2:8-11

Historically, idols (unholy watchers) like their names to be known. We have now made their names so popular that we say their names over and over each day. We have every day of the week that we pronounce their names as if we are beholding to them: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday… etc.

Many of our months are demigods or gods. These gods (via Rome) have forced upon us the measurements of their time measurements, which are rebellious acts and do not agree with YHWH or the Holy Scriptures.

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy;
I come that they may have life (zoé) and have it abundantly.”

John 10:10

Hezekiah cleansed the temple and removed the idols of worship from Judah and “Then he (Hezekiah) said to them, ‘Listen to me, O Levites. Consecrate yourselves now, and consecrate the house of Yahovah, the Elohim of your fathers, and carry the uncleanness out from the holy place.’”

2 Chronicles 29:5

Josiah cleansed the House of YHVH and demolished the alters and idols that were worshipped and he reinstituted the Passover (Communion) for the protection of the homes of the peoples.

“Now in the eighteenth year of his reign, when he had purged the land and the house, he sent Shaphan the son of Azaliah, and Maaseiah an official of the city, and Joah the son of Joahaz the recorder, to repair the house of Yahovah his Elohim.”

2 Chronicles 34:8

“There had not been celebrated a Passover like it in Israel since the days of Samuel the prophet; nor had any of the kings of Israel celebrated such a Passover as Josiah did with the priests, the Levites, all Judah and Israel who were present, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.”

2 Chronicles 35:18

Baptism? What's it about? Why should I? Why should we?

Wayne brings baptism back into perspective.

When we look at baptism, we think, and most of us would say in conversation, I have (or have not) been baptized. It is, more or less, an event that either has or has not taken place in an individual’s life.

If you have been baptized, chances are you haven’t mentioned your baptism all year long; perhaps longer than a year. Unless you have needed to baptize someone or discuss baptism with them, you haven’t said anything about your baptism. In fact, you may not have mentioned it for a very long time. We have been taught, and have assumed, that baptism is an event in our lives that we just accomplish. Do it. Get it done. Have it done to you.

Baptism should also be known to us as “The Circumcised Heart.”

Baptism has become irrelevant to the people and fallen far from the truth of God’s Kingdom. The New Testament Book of Colossians tells us that we are no longer circumcised by the hand of man, in the flesh, but rather the hand of God circumcises our heart through baptism.

“…in whom also you were circumcised with a circumcision not made by hands, in the putting off of the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, being buried with Him in baptism, in whom also you were raised through the faith of the working of God, raising Him from among the dead.” (Colossians 2:11 & 12 LITV)

In other words, that which circumcision was (and represented) in the Old Testament, baptism has become in the New Testament. When the mark of the flesh in circumcision is upon you in the Old Testament, it is forever on you.

Now “in Christ, there is neither Jew nor Greek, male nor female.” The Lord saw it necessary to change some things. Baptism is given to us for a mark upon our hearts forever. It is not merely for an event in our life. All that circumcision gave to the covenant lovers of God (Elohim) in the Old Testament, baptism gives us all the more to us in the New Testament life. Christ has died for us and has been raised from the dead! Still, most of us don’t think about or even mention our baptism.

Baptism is the victorious battle agent that we should use.

Let’s go back in time and hear a portion of the famous story of David and Goliath. David, the brave heart! David, the giant slayer! Take your place in the long lineage of the covenant shepherd King David. You may call your giant sickness. Call it disease. Call it poverty. How does David face the terrible circumstance of the giant? He says, “Who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should taunt the armies of the living God?” (1 Samuel 17:26)

Okay, if circumcision is replaced with baptism, then what would we say in the face of our “giant?” How about something like: “Who is this un-baptized circumstance that it should taunt the child of the living God?”

Think for a moment about this; when we face our enemy, how often do we ever say anything about our baptism or who we are? We rarely make any separation of who we are in Him in any way. If we would do as David did and declare our covenant in the face of our enemy, then we would most probably have the same results and see the giants fall!

Suppose we look at that same era; the time of the giant slayers – the Philistine destroyers – the conquerors! Let us also consider Jonathan and his armorbearer. There is only one set of armor between the two of them, and there are only two sets of armor in all the army of Israel. King Saul has one, and Saul’s son, Jonathan, the other. Jonathan is away from the rest of the Israeli army, and he is alone with only his armorbearer. There is a whole garrison of the Philistines over on the other side of a chasm. He gets a Holy inspiration, and he says to his armorbearer; “Let us go unto the garrison of these uncircumcised, for perhaps the Lord will be with us.” (1 Samuel 14:6)

I have read the writings of some Bible scholars who have said that there may have been nearly a million Philistines against Israel at that time. No one knows how large this garrison was, but it could have been as much as a-million-to-one-odds against Jonathan and his armorbearer. We at least, know that they were against a multitude. We also know of the miracle that the Lord made manifest in their midst!

A multitude of mean, nasty and desperate Philistine warriors are just on the other side of that jagged canyon. But wait. Jonathan seems to have had a deepened thought. We can almost see His shoulders raising and a look of victory upon his face. He quickly glances to his armorbearer and announces, “Let’s go to the garrison of these un-baptized, for perhaps the Lord will be with us!”
Jonathan decided who he was. He remembered what his lineage was. He wasn’t just the kid of the king of a small insignificant group of people. His people were the children of the living God, and it was the living God Who said so. A stand must be taken! A declaration must be made! A plumb line must be drawn! “We are the Lord’s! They are not! We must win no matter what the odds!

We are the Lord’s!”

Jonathan and his armorbearer went to that garrison and declared who they were by announcing who those Philistines were NOT! The Lord was with Jonathan and his armorbearer!

“Let us go to the uncircumcised for perhaps the Lord will be with us!” The Lord was with them. The Lord is with “the circumcised!” That means that the Lord is with “the baptized!” He is not with “the uncircumcised.” He is not with “the un-baptized.”

What can we say then? When we pray in battle with the forces of evil, we need to have this victory in mind. Whether on our own behalf, we depress that we are baptized into Christ Jesus, or, on behalf of another believer, we announce that they are baptized and have that meaningful covenant with Christ.

Remember who you are.

We must remember. Remember who we are. Remember who the enemy is not. Remember our great covenant with the greatest of Kings! Baptism! That’s it! It is finished! He is risen! He has conquered death, and we have been not only crucified with Him, but we have been raised with Him in His power and victory!

David declared it! Jonathan announced it! It is time we started doing the same! The works of fear and doubt are enemies of the cross. Sickness, disease, and poverty are giants of a strange land that should be unknown to the child of God. The true and living God has given us power over the circumstances of life and the diabolical acts of an evil generation.

Let a new look come upon your face, and new thoughts come into your mind. “I am of the baptized! That settles it! I am the Lord’s, and He is with me!”

Let us annunciate our baptism. Let us have power over circumstances in life because of baptism. God’s people who are baptized are marked in their flesh with an indelible mark that does not have to submit to circumstances placed upon them by evil forces. David and the armies of Israel did not submit to Goliath. Why should we? Jonathan and his armorbearer did not submit to the garrison of those uncircumcised Philistines. Why should we?

All of this is the power in our Baptism!

by Wayne C Anderson

At the inception of democracy, there was a lofty idea of government that is oriented to and from the people of society. That is, government without elitism. In the “new Americas” the people could no longer live with the tyranny of an elite king and power lusting lords who had no social reasoning except for what was good for the elite. You see, kings believe that the people are subjects to the kings. Kings don’t understand that “He who is great among you shall be your servant.” Eventually, kings make themselves demigods, or gods.

It has long been known that elitism of the few can only exist as long as there are people that will serve the elite. Yet, democracy gives the noble idea that the government actually “serves” the people and not the other way around.

Presiding Apostolic Director, Wayne C Anderson

So, “we the people” formed a “more perfect union” and desiring “justice” and wanting to “insure domestic tranquility”, by corporately providing “for the common defense” with the great hope of promoting “the general welfare”, making secure the “blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity.”

When I say “elite,” I could be talking about those who are filled with extravagant greed, who can buy with their money whatever they want, including people. But, I could also be talking about those elite who are called “gifted” and have been the priests, the clergy, the prophet, who takes the place of God’s voice unto the people. I might also be talking about the militaristically strong who physically make the people do what they want. Yet, in the past few decades, we have found the realms of media magnates who have now taken the minds of the people and directed them in any path that the elitist media goal decides is best for their investments. I could also be referring to the elitist investor who demands that their money make them more money even if it means an abuse of the marketplace that causes hardship upon the people. Or, I could be describing a corrupted government.

There has always been corrupt people in democratic governments who try to take advantage of the liberty and freedom that the people have obtained. The corrupted heart of the politically elite, hides behind “political parties” and causes that to feed into their elitist cause. Get enough of this corruption working behind closed doors, and it takes over every form of government. Thus, no more “government of the people.”

I remember being taught about “representation” and how my vote had power in government. You see, it was the representative’s responsibility to legislate for my interests in order to get my vote. Something drastically changed somewhere. There was a tipping point that fell into the vast ocean of lies, social abuse and the masterminding of elite agendas. The end now justifies the means, so that a politician openly lies in order to trick the public into voting. Once in office, they do what they want to promote their agenda and lose all sense of service to the people for whom the government is supposed to exist.

Sadly, my grandfather used to say that he would no longer vote for a “good man” to be placed into the corruption of the politicians because there were too few “good men” upon the earth, and we cannot afford to lose them into politics. My grandfather said that back in the 1950’s & 60’s. I then thought him to be a bit cynical. I now think that he saw something the rest of us did not but didn’t think it all the way through to victory. We cannot allow government to be overrun by corrupted hearts of “bad men” who only work for themselves.

I remember when my vote meant something. Now, in the United States of America and in most of the western world, my vote simply promotes the elite seeking politician whose ending agenda justifies the corrupt hearted ways of attaining the power of legislation over the people.

The media keeps telling us that the people are corrupt so that the power of the people will be stonewalled and never arise to the knowledge that it is the government that is corrupt – the media that is corrupt – those who acquire wealth by unjust means that are corrupt – the religious systems are corrupt, etc.

Lest I dig too deep into the wounds of the past decades of deception that we have been under both as individuals as well as a populace, I want to tell you that the answer is quite simple: Courage to change.

Those first “Americans” who tried to “form a more perfect union” were not wrong. They left farms, factories, family, friends and went to work at “forming” this governmental body called a “union.” The “forming” that they did was in setting the boundaries of “Public Policy.”

Bottom line here is that we cannot “vote” our way to freedom. We can only “serve” our way to freedom.

We, the people, must take our uncorrupted hearts and put them to work in every form of society and serve in every way that we possibly can. We must change “public policy” to serve the people and not the elite.

If you are in business, make sure your calendar includes your attendance at public government meetings to voice your needs as a business in your community. Perhaps you could even assign employees to community oversight reporting back so that your company is continuously informed of what public policy is for the community. It is now time to use your creativity that got you into business to work for the people of a “more perfect union.”

If you are a single mom, you should consider getting out of the “Starbucks line” and get into public offices. Serving the community in any way possible. Perhaps taking an influential job or post, or even running for an office. If you are a working at home mom, then start looking for ways to communicate with local government officials and be a voice in your community. Think about what you can do instead of what you cannot do.

Pastors should definitely be involved with local, state, and even national policy setting. It’s time to get a much larger kingdom view of things. Most pastors confine the view of their destiny to the small group of people in front of them on Sunday morning rather than realizing that the Lord has placed them into a much larger community. Shepherds lead the church into that community to steward it for the Lord. Thus, it is greater, and much more responsible to be pastoring a community, a state, or perhaps a nation. The history of democracy is filled with pastors in influential public offices, including the formation of the United States of America.

Every church should have classes that train people into public office where they can effect public policy. Start asking questions and you’ll find that there are lots of people who would be happy to come train the people how to “form (or reform) a more perfect union.”

No matter what walk of life, your uncorrupted heart needs to be guided by the word of God into service to the community. We must never allow our hearts to be guided by liberal corrupted hearts that shout so loud so as to overpower the good common sense and righteousness of the people. Let us silence the voices of the elitist liberal media magnates, the elitist liberal university professors, the elitist liberal politicians, etc. Let us begin to infiltrate until we are the majority that demographic counts say that we are. Let us also pray for the righteous who are in the positions already of media, education, government and the marketplace; and let us work to support those righteous hearted people who would work to change the elitist liberal voices.

Yes, this will take courage. No, it won’t be easy. Yes, it will take time. No, it will not be an instant change so that we might hurry back into hiding places. Yes, this is a life change.

You might be saying, “I just want to live and be happy.” It should be obvious to you by now that it will soon be impossible to live and be happy. Your freedom is at stake. Your children’s freedom is at stake. If we do not change now, it will soon be too late.

The Lord has anointed His children to cleanse the land of ungodliness so that the inhabitants will live in peace. We must get involved. Get out of our chair, get out of our comfort zone and get involved in our communities in every way possible. We must not only vote; we all must lead others to the polls.

We must be on the lookout for those who will take a righteous stand in government and use social media and every voice that we have to support them. We must find out where and when the council meetings, educational board meetings, commissioners meetings, and the public forums are taking place and schedule our calendars anew. These community events are now, perhaps more important than our church meetings; yet we must not leave the community of the church behind in any way.

Courage and change are not easy, but absolutely necessary. We can do this. Or, maybe I should say, “we get to do this.” It is our privilege to serve in order to reform a more perfect union in our nation. We simply must stop our complaining about the way things are headed and start serving to change the direction our nation is going. It is for the sake of our “posterity.”

Covenant plays a strong functional, foundational, and yet silent role in the creation of all things. Matters of physical, as well as spiritual, social, and even celestial existence remain in place and force by the gripping power of covenant. It is by covenant that atoms and molecules remain together and form substance. Even the role of the individual particle in any mass has to do with covenant. When the Lord God created, He did so by the force of His creative covenant voice, and all things remain as His word formed them by the gripping power of covenant.

I am speaking of covenant in its simplest form, but there is something powerful about the very thought of covenant strength that holds the worlds together. Pure science is the study of God’s creation to discover the greater revelations of Him. Although it is scientific to understand how the things of creation work, there are still great mysteries as to why. Covenant is like a gluing agent having the power to hold on to a place or even a behavior.

When we think of the covenant of matrimony, we can see the principles of holding and behavior as the basis of that magnificent covenant. It also allows us to see the power of covenant in everything else. Just think of the holding power of, “So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate!” If the Lord God is the covenant creator and He has put something together, then He means for there to be agreement. If that agreement is threatened, then it is only the Creator that has the power and authority to change the covenant.

Covenant holds the realms of the spiritual heavens in place and is mirrored in the terrestrial and the celestial. So, this covenant becomes a significant thought process to everyone who beholds its principles with even the slightest of understanding.

Covenant love has power far beyond the emotional strength that might be felt. It has drawing, holding, and even protective abilities. Covenant love has the strength to heal if its behavior is unhampered. Covenant love has boundaries. As long as those boundaries are maintained, there is strength in that covenant love to protect, to heal, to cause healthy growth, and so much more. Inordinate love breaks the covenant boundaries and rebels against the covenant. Inordinate love is covenant breaking, and the perils of covenant breaking become poverty in nearly every area of life.

Covenant love means covenant strength to overcome. The Father’s love toward us is reliable, but His boundaries are always intact.

by Stephen Meyering

Are you ready for one of the most amazing years of your lives?
From now and into 2020, God is Moving Mightily and building His Glorious Church, taking us from Glory to Glory.
And we are now entering a Time that I felt to call a Transformation Visitation.
So, what does the word “Transformation” Mean? According to Webster’s, it means “A thorough or dramatic change in form or appearance.”
This Transformation will bring with it Greater Glory!
Open your heart with great expectancy, for the King of Glory is in the business of Transformation, and bringing His Bride into Greater Glory.
I know your hearts that you want to be more like Him. So with great expectancy come before Him now Lifting your heart with your hands in Praises, and God will touch you. And you will feel a Power Surge of Love! It’s all about the Flow in 2020.
Let’s take a look at this Transformation from a Time Perspective.
According to the Hebrew calendar, we are in the Year 5780, which is referred to as the “Year of the mouth,” which is Saying, Speaking, Prophesying, and Declaring.
In the Gregorian Calendar, it is the year 2020, which speaks of Seeing, yes 20/20 Vision and Clarity.
When you combine the two-calendar year meanings, it is incredible!
Seeing and Saying, yes to see and perceive deeper than before the Mysteries of God, and then to Declare and Prophesy those things in tune with His Purposes. To me, the best word I can use to describe this is the word “Laser,” Yes, laser shafts of light will be coming forth from you with pinpoint accuracy. You will see clearly now because you are Highly Favored by God, and you will move in great power for the Glory of the Lord.
Let me share with you one example of Transformation using the Life of Jesus. Over 2,000 years ago, Jesus rode humbly into Jerusalem on a donkey and a colt, To give His Life to save a dying world. The Finished Work of the Cross is the greatest display of love that the world has ever seen! I thank God for the Cross. Now we see Jesus again, but this time He is not only seen as the Lamb of God But now He is seen riding Majestically on His Warhorse and going forth as a Mighty Conqueror for you and your Loved ones.
Since 5780 is the “Year of the Mouth,” I feel that Rev. 19:11-16 best describes it. Verse 15 Declares- “Now out of His mouth goes a Sharp Sword, that with it He will Strike the nations” The Power of His Words! And to know that God will speak through you. Yes, He Will!
But that is also a Powerful Illustration of Transformation!
To go from being a humble lamb for sacrifice, to then becoming a Mighty Warrior Riding His Goodly Horse for Battle, and going forth to Conquer.
The Praising Church is the War Horse of God, and it’s time to Mount up for the most amazing ride of your life!
Are you ready for More Transformation? Warrior Bride Come forth.
The Praising Church is the War Horse of God. that is the Transformation that we will experience in this season, as we will be Transformed from meek lambs into the War Horse of God. Are you ready for some Major Victories? And Harvest! Zec.10:3 The last part of the verse best describes this Transformation.
“For the Lord of Host shall visit His flock, the House of Judah, And will make them as His Royal Horse in the Battle.”
That is quite a Transformation, to go from a helpless Lamb to a mighty War Horse. Judah is the warhorse of God, and as you may already know, Judah Means Praise. Judah Means Praise, Judah Means Praise, Judah Means Praise. Gen 29:35 Friends, we all know that the battle is the Lords. Yes the Lord is a Man of war, And like Judah, in king Jehoshaphat’s day, It was the “Praising Army” that experienced a great victory because they marched forth only armed with Praises unto God in faithful obedience to the Prophetic Word. 2 Chr. 20:20-25
That was “Warfare Praise” being demonstrated, and the Blessings resulted.
As you “Get your Praise on in 2020,” Jesus will mount up on your praises and conquer. Let Jesus invade your life and circumstances through the Power of His Presence that comes in Praise. Ps. 22:3
Besides being transformed into the Warhorse of God, there are three major areas of our lives where we will experience Transformation, and they are the following, Relational, Ministerial, and Personal Transformations. Let’s look deeper now.
Relational Transformations-
Will be one of the most obvious and amazing expressions of this move. Relationships, as you know, has to do with our interactions with other people.
But the devil has come to sow discord among the brethren, to separate families, to bring division and confusion, to try to stop the continuity and disrupt the flow. But, as you know, Jesus has already been praying for unity, and His Prayers will be answered. Jn. 17:20-21.
The Anointing is now going forth to see a Relational Transformation.
That will help to bring about a Restoration in Relationships, healing from offenses, and a new comradery. And the Lord gives me Mal. 4:5,6 a key verse.
“Behold, I send you Elijah the Prophet, before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord
And he will turn the hearts of the Father’s to the children, And the hearts of the children to the father’s
Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.”
This would be an excellent time to get things right with other people, time to bury the hatchet. You alone have to decide if you want to stay offended, or you want Reconciliation or Restoration.
I have never experienced anything good that has come out of the offense or harboring attitudes towards others.
And now God is sending Elijah the Prophet, which is an Anointing that will bring with it a Healing Restoration of Relationships. I declare over you Relational Transformations now.
One clear Biblical example that shows a Relational Restoration was in the Lives of the Apostle Paul and John Mark. Acts 12:25,13:5,13,15:36-41
John Mark, the nephew of Barnabas, was a part of Paul’s ministry team, but when Mark decided to leave the team, the Apostle Paul wanted nothing more to do with him.
It caused a significant rift between the Apostle Paul and Apostle Barnabas. But, Later in Life, the scripture reveals that the Apostle Paul was fully restored with Mark As He writes in 2 Tim.4:11
“Only Luke is with me, get Mark, and bring him with you, For he is useful to me for ministry.”
Maybe there is a Minister, or Ministry, or Family member, or someone else in your life, that the relationship is strained or broken?
Now is the time to get that Restoration, because the Anointing is here for that purpose. Love is risky, but if you reach out, you may find a hand reaching back.
Ministry Transformations-
In my office, I have a model of the 1903 Wrights Flyer. This Plane made a Quantum Leap in Aviation History in 1903 when it flew a few hundred yards over a cornfield.
A mere 60 years later, aviation developed to the place where aircraft was flying all the way to the moon! What and Amazing Aerial Transformation. But, what if you saw a 1903 wrights Bro. plane fly overhead today?
You would immediately think, time for an Upgrade! We cannot travel in 2020 at the 1903 rate. That’s counterproductive.
But some Ministries today are trying to do the work embracing the 1903 model, and I think, if we continue to do that then the world would see us as a Don Quixote, quite Archaic, redundant and a little amusing,
The Old Model is no longer relevant. Let’s step into the New, the Now of God.
Expect a Paradigm Shift in the way the Church does things in 2020.
This shift has been going on over the last decade, but 2020 will bring with it and Acceleration of things. I declare over you Ministerial Transformations.
New Wineskins are being developed to contain the New Wine of today. “Bricks and Mortar” stores in America are suffering today because of a shift in
the way the public spends their money and makes purchases.
Many are now making Online Purchases. The whole world is going Online. And even as some businesses are suffering, the Church also is feeling some pain because of this shift in thinking.
The Church must also Change with the Times. I think the Church should be leading the way in innovation. We are the Head, not the Tail.
The Message forever Remains the Same, But the Model and the Environment, The Packaging, and the Presentation should be Relevant to our current times.
Such terms Like, “Online Church, Cyber Church” are not going away. But the Church needs to add these tools to its repertoire of presenting the Gospel.
I remember when I first started going online. It was a little scary for me to venture into cyberspace, but I felt God was in it.
One of the very first e-mails I received, over 20 years ago, was from a man in Holland, and I was shocked. How did this man get my e-mail?
And then the Lord said to me, “Prophecy,” and I was again shocked, thinking that I could write a prophecy to this man, a total stranger living 1,000’s of miles away, and I could send it through cyberspace, and He would get it! Well, I sent it, and the rest is history because my 20 year Dance with Holland all began from that First Prophetic E-Mail that I sent.
Had I let the fear of the unknown stop me, then I would have missed my Blessing.
The Church needs to take advantage of all the opportunities that are available to them because when it comes to the Harvest, a bigger Net means a bigger Harvest. So Yes, use the “InterNet” and don’t just get your name on the Church roll, but get your name on the “Networks” available to make Jesus Famous. The Times, they are a Changing, And the Church should be the Trend Setter. So, the Word of the Lord for 2020 is also, to Make bigger nets. Yes, allow your ministry to undergo a Ministry Transformation. I declare It over you that in 2020 you will boldly go where you have not gone before. God will Bless you.
Personal Transformations-
Yes, almost all Christians want to be like the ones that they love.
We see Jesus as our supreme example of being a child of God.
We all come into the Kingdom of God the same way; we are born from above. Then we receive nurturing, the milk of the word, and we grow in Grace.
But, it is in the heart of God to take us deeper, that we may know Him.
I have found that it is Quality Time in the Presence of the Lord, in the Secret Place of the Most High, is where I experience some of my greatest change. And the Lord gives me for you 2 Cor. 3:18
“But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, Are being transformed into the same image, from Glory to Glory,
Just as by the Spirit of the Lord”
Come before Jesus now, and give your all to him.
By Carl Diener

There is a level of worship that the church seldom reaches. You can’t really plan it or program it into your schedule. It’s a lot like the upper room thing. Jesus said to wait in Jerusalem until the Holy Spirit was given. He did not say what building, or for how long to wait. It isn’t something that fits very well with the plans of man. With God, it is always a matter of the heart. After ten days, only the genuinely desperate were still waiting in that upper room.

There are a bunch of us now that have seen what the “matches of man can do, and we want the lightning of God.” We want to go deeper than the shallowness of four or five worship songs, a good sermon, and out the door, we go. We want something deeper. We want or heart to reach that place of more than worship. We want it to shift into a place of adoration.

In old testament times, they would plate an idol with gold since that is what man thinks he wants. This man has never seen so much gold in one place. He thinks about the incredible value of that idol in gold alone.

We don’t think that way, or we shouldn’t anyway. Our hearts turn to the God that loves us, and we think of the “incredible value” of that love that gave his only son for us. A love that turns its eyes toward us, whether we are awake or asleep. Oh! This love that thinks thoughts about us in higher amounts than grains of sand on the seashore.

I am not sure how it works. However, I think it starts with a reflection of this vast unfathomable love for us and that God will meet us just as surely as he filled those people in that upper room.

So, where is a biblical example of this worship that reaches the stage of adoration? We read in the gospel of Luke that Jesus and His disciples were invited to a Pharisee’s house for a meal. The disciples, I could imagine, were quite excited about it. Finally, their Master’s ministry was getting some due recognition. However, at some point, an embarrassing situation takes place. A woman bursts in to see Jesus, and she falls on her knees and begins weeping. So overcome with emotion, her tears are enough to wash his feet, and she wipes them with her hair. Imagine for a moment how uncomfortable this scene is. To top it all off, the pharisee is smiling smugly and thinking to himself if Jesus knew what kind of woman she was, he would kick her away.

Jesus turned to the man and rebuked him, saying, “you gave me no kiss, nor did you gave me water to wash my feet, but this woman has washed my feet with her tears and never ceases to kiss them…”

Jesus spoke of the deep love this woman had, a saving love that transcends sin. This love was offered to Him. That woman was honored in the sight of God.

This was an uncomfortable moment of adoration in the sight of all who looked on – except with our Lord. This woman’s actions proved to be an exceptional offering to God so that it was recorded in Luke’s Gospel of Jesus Christ. This story will last throughout eternity.

May we reach such a place of adoration of Him in our hearts. May we no longer care what man thinks, but only care what Jesus thinks. We are forgiven of so much. Let us love much.

by Wayne C Anderson

For many years, I have been honored to be able to celebrate quite a number of Shabbat meals with my orthodox Jewish friends. I long ago concluded that Shabbat is less a religious practice and more a protection of the family and love of the scriptures, as well as peace and joy.

Through the years I have received many questions concerning the “rest” of the Lord. I’d like to try to simplify this issue so that you may understand the “rest” and apply it to your life. There is a “Sabbath” of the Lord. That “Sabbath” is not something that is considered the “law of sin and death” as some would teach.

You see, the first thing that we know about the Lord our God is that He is the Creator of all things. Please take a few minutes to look at these important scriptures. I have placed them in an order that will give you a liberating revelation of what the Lord has done for you. Now, in the creation of all things, before the law of Moses came to the people of Israel, we were given the foundations of our life in the “image” of God.

The First Day:

“And God saw the light, that it was good, and God separated between the light and darkness.” [Genesis 1:4 LITV]

The word “good” has emotion in the Hebrew language. It’s like a “happy dance” that the Lord felt because of the outcome of His own creation. The word “good” in ancient Hebrew, is “tob”; which means to be pleased with; there is a sense of emotion that arises in this word from within.

The Lord thinks a lot about these “days.” Let’s see what He thinks about the rest of the days of the week.

The Second Day:

“And God called the dry land, Earth. And He called the collection of the waters, Seas. And God saw that it was good.” [Genesis 1:10 LITV]

The Third Day:

“And the earth bore tender sprouts, the plant seeding seed according to its kind, and the fruit tree producing fruit according to its kind, whichever seed is in it. And God saw that it was good. And there was evening, and there was morning the third day.” [Genesis 1:12-13 LITV]

The Fourth Day:

“And God set them in the expanse of the heavens, to give light on the earth, and to rule over the day and over the night; and to divide between the light and the darkness. And God saw that it was good. And there was evening, and there was morning the fourth day.” [Genesis 1:17-19 LITV]

The Fifth Day:

“And God created the great sea animals, and all that creeps, having a living soul, which swarmed the waters, according to its kind; and every bird with wing according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas; and let the birds multiply in the earth. And there was evening, and there was morning the fifth day.” [Genesis 1:21-23 LITV]

The Sixth Day:

“And God made the beasts of the earth according to its kind, and cattle according to its kind, and all creepers of the ground according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.”

Please notice how every day that has been made is “good” in the heart of God the Creator of all things. Every day is good! So, no matter what day of the week it is, you can say, “It’s a GOOD day!”

“And God saw everything that He had made and behold, it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning the sixth day.” [Genesis 1:25 & 31 LITV]

Everything that the Lord God created was “good” to Him. Therefore it is good to me and it is good to you. Every day and all that was made in the day is good. So, we can now say that every day of the week is good.

The Seventh Day:

“And the heavens and the earth were finished, and all their host. And on the seventh day God completed His work which He had made. And He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made. And God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because He rested from all His work on it, which God had created to make.” [Genesis 2:1-3 LITV]

The Lord “sanctified” (khadesh) the seventh day, for you see, the seventh day is holy (khadesh). [qadash; means holy, set as sacred]

Holy, or, that which has been blessed, established with the greatest of honor; thus it is consecrated, sanctified, venerated, revered, spiritual, devotional in nature. Further more it is inviolable, inviolate, invulnerable, untouchable, protected, defended, and secure. The antonyms are: secular, profane, plain, disregarded (These are not the words that should describe the other days of the week which the Lord God called “good.”)

The seventh day was a “holy-day” and that is where we get the word “holiday.” (Kinda funny how the irreligious politically correct people want us to say “Happy Holidays” instead of Christmas.)

Hebrews 4:1, 2 & 7, speak of the New Testament believer’s rest:

“Therefore, let us fear if, while a promise remains of entering His rest, any one of you may seem to have come short of it. For indeed we have had good news preached to us, just as they also; but the word they heard did not profit them, because it was not united by faith in those who heard…” “He again fixes a certain day, ‘Today,’ saying through David after so long a time just as has been said before, ‘Today if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts.’”

Everyday is good. One day is “holy.” It is the day of rest. Jesus clarified this to the religious Pharisees saying, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.” (Mark 2:27-28)

The apostle Paul wrote a warning against the bondage of religion that binds the believer to a day, saying, “Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day.” (Colossians 2:16)

This, however, does not mean that the Lord does not intend for us to rest. There ought to be a holy rest for us all – a holy time – a day set aside for our good and for our freedom and not for our bondage.

Look at our lives today and how we don’t have days of rest. So many of us have sleep disorders, and far too many of us don’t even know what it actually means to rest anymore. Did we leave something behind? Are we so afraid of “religion” that we can no longer rest as our Lord has rested? Is there not a Sabbath that is made for man anymore?

I think that some of our dogmatisms set us in bondages that disable our abilities to see and experience the promised abundant life. We have established ourselves as Christ believers into a place above all other humankind, and some of us actually think that is holy. It seems more like a deception to me.

For instance, my experience in the homes of orthodox Jewish people who love God the Father but do not believe that Jesus Christ is their Messiah, have a love relationship than many Christ believers have. The love relationship I speak of and have witnessed is with God, family & community. We easily judge them from the high exalted positions of our dogmas but miss the fact that their children are not on drugs and sleeping around and doing the things that the children of Christ believers do – which we now term as natural. Take away the electronics of a child for just one day a week and expect that child to be attentive to each family member in conversation, physical touch, creative arts, and physical play. You’ll have a different set of priorities and values.

When you visit Jerusalem, Israel, the lack of working automation on Shabbat day can be bothersome when you don’t realize what is behind this cultural system. True, their culture might go farther than what you would like to choose. Still, their results in the family actually work and have not only proven themselves in centuries past but probably even more in this highly electronic world of today.

We have all chosen our lifestyles. We can also select what our lifestyles will be like. We need to rest. If we do not get rest, we will not last much longer, and our families will continue to disintegrate. My suggestion is that you change your future lifestyle to include rest and don’t be religiously irreligious. Find your day of rest and make it so.

May the Holy Spirit envelop you with His great and glorious love as you find your rest.

Why moral absolutism loses in the war for culture.

by Rich Carey

In Part I, I proposed that dogmatism among Christians, particularly Evangelicals, is counterproductive to our goal of transforming culture. If you haven’t yet read it, I encourage you to do so prior to reading this article, so you have a foundation for the perspectives I’m addressing here. By way of review, let’s define our terms:

Wikipedia provides us with this definition of dogma:

“Dogma is a principle or set of principles laid down by an authority as incontrovertibly true. It serves as part of the primary basis of an ideology or belief system, and it cannot be changed or discarded without affecting the very system’s paradigm, or the ideology itself.”1

Everyone has a measure of dogma in his or her worldview. This is just the way we are wired, and how we make sense of the world in its current state. Dogma is vital to our mental, emotional and intellectual stability. However, not everyone is equally “dogmatic” in his or her beliefs.

Dogmatism is the tendency to lay down principles as incontrovertibly true, without consideration of Dogma, or the adherence to certain beliefs is socially acceptable. Dogmatism is less so, because it has a tendency to force dogma onto others without consideration of their own deeply held beliefs. It implies a moral superiority, which regardless of having merit, is offensive by its very nature and creates friction in relationships.

Evangelicals have a tendency towards dogmatism, especially when it comes to social issues. I propose that Evangelicalism armed with political power often becomes a self-defeating contradiction that fails in the very thing it hopes to accomplish whenever dogmatism becomes part of the equation.

Let’s examine a couple of key issues that we are presently wrestling through as examples of why our dogmatism fails us in our struggle to re-establish the proper moral compass in our culture. These are enormously controversial and complex issues, each worthy of much more discussion than we can give them here, but they serve as examples for us to consider in re-evaluating our tactics and formulating strategies that increase our chances for successfully turning the soul of our nation.

Homosexuality and Gay Marriage

The issue of homosexuality and gay marriage is a particularly contentious one, and it seems many today have a dog in this fight because we are compelled to pick a side by the dogmatists on both sides who steadfastly occupy their respective moral ground.

Evangelicals see marriage as the most sacred of human institutions, initiated by God Himself at the time of creation. Marriage can only be defined as a man and a woman, coming together in holy union for the purpose of love, relationship and procreation. The Apostle Paul wrote that it is a type of the relationship between Christ and His Church. He also wrote that homosexuality is a sin, and those who practice it have no part in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Many evangelicals reject the idea that homosexuality is a genetic inevitability from which there is no escape. They believe that homosexuality is a series of moral choices that result in a stronghold and fear that unrestrained homosexuality has the potential to become a social contagion that has negative effects on society at large. Thus, they have a tendency to view all homosexuals as posing some measure of threat to the nuclear family and, while professing love for them as individuals, soundly condemn their lifestyle as unacceptable to God and mankind.

On the other side of the issue, gay activists (who do not necessarily represent all, or even most homosexuals) view marriage as the union of two people who love one another and want to be recognized as having the same legal rights and social acceptance as heterosexual marriage. Some gay Christians (a term many evangelicals would consider a theological impossibility) simply dismiss Paul’s words as personal opinions or as irrelevant in modern culture. They view the evangelical’s rejection of their lifestyle as being hateful, judgmental and as an evil personal attack against them, and thus tend to respond by unjustly stereotyping all evangelicals as hateful bigots.

Somewhere in the middle, there are many who are neither “rabid homophobic evangelicals” nor gay radicals. They do not see this issue as being all that complicated, despite the abundance of passion and noise made by the opposing sides. They view this issue through the lens that, in reality, is the standard by which all things should be measured, which is simply love and acceptance, and the need to eliminate as much contention in society as possible. The more noise Evangelicals make on this issue, the more of this middle ground is lost and the more marginalized we become in today’s moral- relativistic culture.

This has allowed radical homosexuals to ascend to the pinnacles of power in the entertainment industry and the public education system, where they have established strongholds from which they publicly mock a Christian worldview and actively work to normalize homosexuality in American culture.

I propose that we are losing ground on this point largely because our unyielding dogmatism erects impenetrable walls that obstruct any meaningful positive interaction with the gay community. Worse, it alienates those in the middle who often see our unyielding position as judgmental, unloving and excessively harsh.

Culture could be partially defined as the collective soul of a nation. A simple, yet powerful principle worth remembering is, when hearts are closed, they cannot be transformed. It is the enemy’s strategy to marginalize and isolate the Church, which neutralizes us in the battle for culture. We have largely become marginalized on this issue, and the way back to relevancy is not an easy one.

First, we must step away far enough to gain some perspective. Our words should reflect more of Jesus and less of Paul. Our goal should be to open doors of communication through empathy and a measure of acceptance as fellow objects of God’s love instead of judgment and rejection. I think we can and should seek to have a logical debate on the long-term psychological effects of highly sexualizing a culture, something most reasonable people would agree is not healthy, especially for children and adolescents. There are some lines we can draw in the sand that I believe will seem justifiable to the average person, including those who are accepting of the gay lifestyle.

We should seek to get the government completely out of the marriage business and put it back into the hands of the Church. Committed secular partnerships can and should enjoy the full legal benefits of marriage. Sexuality is a gift from God that should only be celebrated between 2 consenting adults in a private setting. Those who seek to flaunt their sexuality in public should be confronted and rebuked. Any instruction on sexuality beyond basic biology in public schools should be opposed as inappropriate. We must demand and reclaim exclusive parental authority on all issues of morality. Let’s lobby to get schools back to teaching history and civics, not sexuality and social justice.

Abortion

There are few issues that are more emotional and polarizing than the subject of abortion. Nearly all
of us hold very strong and unyielding views on this subject, either advocating for the life of the unborn, or for the sole, inalienable rights of a woman to terminate her unwanted pregnancy.

The arguments on both sides tend to be largely black and white, diametrically opposed without any room for compromise. Pro-life advocates maintain that life begins at conception and no abortion is justifiable at any stage of the pregnancy. Pro-choice advocates largely see this as a personal rights issue and want no limits by the government regarding when a woman can terminate her pregnancy. This puts us at a stalemate, and because of the emotion involved, very little constructive dialogue can take place between the two sides.

However, raw emotion is almost never a good environment for solving difficult challenges. If we can dial down our feelings and appeal to scientific understanding, perhaps we can find some common ground. Still, the most dogmatic among us on both sides will have no desire for dialogue because they are standing on their respective principles and refuse to be moved. In the meantime, millions of abortions continue to take place with the full blessing of the law, and no amount of yelling at each other through tears and anger is changing that fact. Unbelievably, we are now debating post-birth abortion in many states. The tired old claim by pro-choice advocates that abortion should be “safe, legal and rare” is clearly a deception that nobody in the abortion-rights crowd really believes in or advocates for in any meaningful way.

At the end of the day, abortion is an issue of the heart, and no external law can bring genuine transformation within.

In other words, pro-lifers are losing even as we stand in our fortified position of truth that all life begins a conception and no abortion should be permitted. If our goal is truly to save lives and transform our current culture of death into a culture of life, we must become less dogmatic in our position, at least for the short term. In other words, we must compromise in order to gain a partial victory and move the needle in the right direction, a strategy that our enemy has successfully used for decades.

The Strategic Value of Compromise

The most uncomfortable word in a dogmatist’s worldview is “compromise”. The reason for this discomfort is because we don’t understand the value of compromise as a tactical, strategic weapon. Dogmatists typically define compromise thusly:

Compromise: “A change that makes something worse, revealing a weakness of character and lack of principle.”

But compromise has an additional meaning that we would be wise to consider:

Compromise: “A way of reaching agreement in which each person or group gives up something that was wanted in order to end an argument or dispute; something that combines the qualities of two different things.”

It is important that you understand that I’m not advocating for a mushy, irresponsible theology that is not true to scripture. That would not only be a violation of my personal convictions, it would be cruel and unloving because it would lead people away from the truth that sets them free.

What I am advocating is that we strive to create a less hostile atmosphere in all areas of contention where meaningful conversation can take place, where people are genuinely loved and honored as individuals, and the Holy Spirit is given more room to work within our hearts to bring about genuine transformation. I would argue that this is a foundational principle of the Kingdom of God, which has been overshadowed by the zealousness of the Evangelical movement.

I believe we need to return to a more strategic approach in our cultivation of the Kingdom of God in the hostile ground of an unbelieving world, as exampled by Jesus Himself.

This idea of compromise is most clearly seen in the realm of politics and government. One doesn’t have to look too closely into the average politician’s track record to find examples of compromise. Changing one’s position on issues can be a sign of lack of principles or backbone, weak morals, or outright corruption, and sadly, this is often the case. However it is not always the case. A wise and experienced leader understands that compromise is sometimes the only means by which any measure of victory can be achieved. However to the uninformed dogmatist, any sign of compromise from a candidate on a particular issue automatically disqualifies them from holding office.

The tragic result of our dogmatism in the democratic process is that fewer people with high morals get elected to office. Instead, we get liars and greedy scoundrels who say anything to get elected and do anything to stay in power.

This happens because a majority of those who call themselves Christians in America do not vote and do not educate themselves properly on public policy issues. They tend to evaluate all candidates by a very narrow standard of acceptability and judge them all to be less than ideal on one issue or another and thus unworthy of their vote. Worse yet, they often marginalize and revile those candidates who could be the best qualified and most capable in spite of their shortcomings, while our opponents on the other side pragmatically ignore the glaring moral character faults of their own candidates and successfully elect them into office.

In recent elections, I think many people feel they are voting for the lesser of two evils. And in reality, they are not wrong. We are electing imperfect people to create flawed laws and policies in an attempt to govern sinful, broken people by means of a corrupt, out of control government. This is a bleak, yet accurate assessment. Still, this is the best and only alternative to tyranny or anarchy in this evil age.

The results of the 2016 Presidential election was shocking for many when Donald J. Trump became the 45th President of the United States. His polarizing political style has contributed to our nation being largely divided along party lines. Some polls show that Trump appears to be slowly gaining in popularity, even as the Democrats wage war against him and seek his impeachment for thus far unproven high crimes and misdemeanors.

The self-defeating power of dogmatism is clearly visible in those on the rabid political left and the “Never Trumpers” on the right. Blinded by their hatred of Trump, they cannot see the measurable good that he has accomplished for our nation. They refuse to give him credit for any accomplishment, no matter how commendable, because they stand on the “Trump is Evil” principle all the while ignoring the obvious facts. It seems they would rather sacrifice the prosperity and security of our nation than give up their dogmatic opposition to Donald Trump and begin working along with him for the sake of the people they were elected to represent.

Conversely, Trump is a master of negotiation, tactics and strategies. He has studied Sun Tzu’s “The Art of War”, which served as inspiration for his own book “The Art of the Deal”. Trump understands the value of compromise in moving the ball down the field for an eventual victory. He always looks for a win-win, knowing that accepting a partial victory now paves the way for more wins down the road. Some see this approach as a lack of principle. I see it as a winning Kingdom strategy for good in a broken, sin-sickened world.

In closing, Jesus was not as dogmatic as many Evangelicals are today. If you look closely at how he dealt with his opponents, he was strategic – even crafty. At times, He pragmatically manipulated them for their own benefit. He did not separate Himself from the sinners around Him; He embraced them in all of their sinfulness and loved them and showed them a better way.

When we isolate ourselves from those who oppose us through our dogmatic, immovable positions on social issues, we lose ground in the war for the soul of our nation. God gave man free will so he could choose life and not death; to choose to love and not hate. Jesus demonstrated this repeatedly as He sparred with the religious leaders because of their own unloving dogmatism, but showed sinners love, forgiveness and acceptance, while pointing the way out of the darkness and into His eternal light and life. Man’s God-given right to choose life is the very foundation of divine love.

We would do well to examine our hearts and do our best to walk in love in regards to our “enemies” as He commanded us to do, understanding that the only force capable of conquering darkness while preserving free will is unmerited, unconditional love. Truth is a Person, not an unyielding set of facts and principles. Life is this evil age is much more fluid and less rigidly defined than we have made it.

“You shall know the Truth, and the Truth shall set you free.”

Let us think on these things as we actively engage the darkness in this hour and may we be fully led by His Spirit, which (pragmatically) leads us into all truth.

by Michael Brennan

Our ‘Western’ brand of Christianity has a catch 22 in our approach to prayer. We tend to value spontaneous prayer over form prayers. Specifically, those prayers we pray over our children and grandchildren.

We have little difficulty speaking those prayers from our hearts, so they naturally tend to be full of our spontaneous passion and concern. Our orthodox Jewish brothers, however, prayer just the opposite. Their natural tendency in prayer for their families is to prayer form prayer from a seder book, specifically Torah prayers.

For them, God’s words written in the Torah (including the Psalms) are full of His “juice,” so they believe that His words spoken out loud over their children carry far more weight than any “human” words – no matter how passionate. Here lies the “catch 22.”

The prayer that “avails much” is both fervent and effectual. (James 5:16) Certainly, our “from the heart” spontaneous prayers for our children/grandchildren are full of fervency and by all means, touch the heart of our loving Father. But our Jewish brothers make an excellent case for the effectual side of prayer. His “juice” (as I’ve heard them say) is way more effective than ours. So who will deliver us from this catch 22 dilemma?

Perhaps if we are willing to humble ourselves and learn from our Jewish brothers, we might well discover a way to prayer that takes fervent and effectual to a who new place of abundantly beyond availability.

Thus we now turn our attention to what is known to both Christ believers and Jews as the Aaronic Blessing:

“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace.”

Here is what we consider to be the end of this great prayer. However, please note the very next verse:

“And they shall put My name upon the children of Israel, and I will bless them.”

From these scriptures, we find that Yehovah spoke words over our children and our children’s children. Hidden in this last verse is a power key to praying for our families from the pace of “abundantly beyond availability. We can see that our Jewish brothers have always recognized the Father’s desire that we release these very specific blessings.

Let me engage you in some “What If’s:”

What if we could “cast” all the deep and passionate fervency we have for our families into the Father’s Care? (Please note that His Care has always been there far before all your cares.)

What if we could fill our prayers with the full effects of the Father’s “rivers of living water” through the blessing of His word?

What if we began to train ourselves “by practice” to release the “solid food’” of the Father over our families daily?

What if we got into the habit of consistently declaring the Father’s Bless, the Father’s Protection, the Father’s Light, the Father’s Grace, the Father’s lifting up, and the Father’s peace (shalom) over our children and our children’s children?

And, what if our “catch 22” dilemma turned into “His will on earth (for our families) as it is in Heaven?”

What if our “What If’s” became instead “Yes & Amen!”

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying,
This is the way you shall bless the children of Israel. Say to them:

The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.
So they shall put My name on the children of Israel, and I will bless them.

Numbers 6:22-27 (NKJV)

Why moral absolutism loses in the war for culture

By Rich Carey

Evangelical Christians are prone to embrace unmovable positions on certain issues, which they consider to be moral absolutes. We base these positions on our interpretations of scripture, which we deem to be the infallible, immutable Word of God, given to us as a guide for living in a world marred by sin. These positions serve as anchors for our souls; moral compass points which direct our lives into the path of righteousness and agreement with the heart and purposes of God.

The proper term for such beliefs is dogma. Wikipedia provides us with this definition:

“Dogma is a principle or set of principles laid down by an authority as incontrovertibly true. It serves as part of the primary basis of an ideology or belief system, and it cannot be changed or discarded without affecting the very system’s paradigm, or the ideology itself.”1

Everyone has a measure of dogma in his or her worldview. This is just the way we are wired, and how we make sense of the world in its current state. Dogma is vital to our mental, emotional and intellectual stability. However, not everyone is equally “dogmatic” in his or her beliefs.

Some people are prone to live and let live. Others have a more “evangelistic” nature and believe they must transform the views of their neighbors to be more like their own. One might refer to this as an element of dogmatism.

Dogmatism is the tendency to lay down principles as incontrovertibly true, without consideration of others.2

Dogma, or the adherence to certain beliefs is socially acceptable. Dogmatism is less so, because it has a tendency to force dogma onto others without consideration of their own deeply held beliefs. It implies a moral superiority, which regardless of having merit, is offensive by its very nature and creates friction in relationships. Dogmatism is the devils way of neutralizing dogma by perverting the spirit behind it – by removing love from the truth, making it cold, lifeless and powerless to change lives in any positive way.

Many American evangelicals are nothing if not dogmatic. If you think about the term “evangelical”, it implies being ardent and zealously enthusiastic for a cause. Evangelicalism propelled great social change throughout the Reformation by confronting religious tyranny and ignorance; guiding people back to the liberating spiritual truth found in Word of God. But evangelicalism armed with political power often becomes a self-defeating contradiction that fails in the very thing it hopes to accomplish if dogmatism is part of the equation.

To further complicate matters there is this messy, complicated thing called grace. Dogmatists are not normally strong on grace, because grace overturns the tables in our predictable, organized theological house. Grace is God’s trump card on dogma. Grace, scripturally applied, declares amnesty in the face of judgment. It purposely allows for a violation of the very constructs that hold our worldview together. Indeed, it appears to be God’s unreasonable acceptance of one whose actions are in clear violation of His Word.

One response of the dogmatist to grace has been distilled into a catch phrase spoken from pulpits everywhere – “love the sinner, hate the sin”. While this sounds quite biblical, it is nowhere to be found in scripture. Jesus never said it, and neither did any of the writers of the New Testament.

Though it may ring with a measure of biblical truth, the problem with “love the sinner, hate the sin” is that in practice, it is really nothing more than an mental trick we play on ourselves that allows us to reconcile our dogmatism with the command of Christ to love our neighbor. It allows us to look down from our lofty moral throne and declare to the wretched sinner before us that we love them. Our dogmatism stays intact, and we feel justified.

While God is certainly able to hate the sin while loving the sinner, I’m not nearly so confident in our abilities to do the same. The problem here is that the wretched sinner does not normally feel loved by us because we have labeled them to be a wretched sinner. We have branded them with their sin. Though it was not necessarily our intention, we have made it their identity because we have made hate part of the equation. We have morally elevated ourselves above them and declared ourselves to be better than they, which if you think about it, is not at all what Christ modeled for us. To the “sinner”, we appear much more like the Pharisees that Jesus condemned, than the Jesus who loves them and gave His all for them.

Thus, the typical response of the “sinner” is not to throw wide the doors of their heart and embrace whatever wisdom may drip like so much honey from our lips. Rather, they are far more likely to close down their hearts and minds to us and go on the defensive. Worse, they often go on the offensive and apply their own labels to us, such as “bigot”, “homophobe”, “hypocrite”, etc. because in their minds, we haven’t earned the moral high ground upon which we presume to stand.

The end result is that rather than creating at atmosphere where we may be able to genuinely speak some truth in love and possibly create room for a positive shift in their worldview, we fortify their existing position of separation from God and His forgiveness and push them farther into the darkness. We may win the battle for truth, but we lose the war for souls from a lack of genuine love.

In closing, we would do well to examine our hearts to ensure we are truly walking in love towards our “enemies” as He commanded us to do, knowing (in His great wisdom) that the only force capable of conquering darkness while preserving free will is unmerited, unconditional love.

In Part II of this article, we will examine a few issues that we are presently wrestling through as examples of why our dogmatism fails us in our struggle to re-establish the proper moral compass in our culture.

by Richard C. & Kimberly J. Wilson

Cruising is a great way to get away from cell phones, meetings and our office. So last December we boarded the Carnival Miracle and set sail for a week of quiet bliss on the seas. God loves to speak at the most appropriate times, of which He chose a day where we were sitting on the balcony looking at the waves and enjoying the sea breeze. He chimed in, “2019 is the year of the rudder. The ship is built. It is now time for the rudder to be set in place. Set a steering committee. Navigate into the future.”

We had been steady building our ship for a year and a half by this point. That is, our vessel for ministry as a couple, the merging of three ministries and their administrations, the fine tuning of our combined calls and the messages that we are to release to equip the saints. It was good to hear from the Lord that “the ship is built”, however setting sail into new waters required the rudder to be set in place or else we were going nowhere.

Rudders aren’t very big compared to the whole construct of the vessel, yet without one that vessel isn’t going anywhere. As a child, Kimberly’s family loved to board their 17-foot sailboat on the Long Island Sound to set sail for day adventures on Fire Island. The rudder, basically a long board with a stick adhered to the top of it determined which way we were headed and in this case in cooperation with the wind. If not in place properly, navigation was impossible. It had to be adjusted to the depths of the water or it would hit bottom. If put down too far, it would drop out of the boat! (Acts 27:40)

This small piece of apparatus is quite important. The rudder is compared to the tongue in James 3:4-5:

“Behold the ships also, though they are so great and are driven by strong winds, are still directed by a very small rudder, wherever the inclination of the pilot desires. So also the tongue is a small part of the body, and yet it boasts of great things.”

The Greek word for tongue is glossa (Strong’s G1100). It is where the word glossary originates. It’s definition is the tongue, a member of the body, an organ of speech AND a tongue, the language or dialect used by a particular people distinct from that of other nations. The tongue is linked with our ethnic heritage, the culture we grew up in, and our belief system. If the motivation for the language spoken is not linked to our indigenous identity in Christ, chances are we will use it to release the language of the fallen cultures we came from.

James 3:10 goes on to say:

Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing.
My brethren, these things ought not to be so.

So, why are we telling you this? Because we are heading into a shift. On July 29, 2019 Kimberly heard the Lord say, “Get ready for full speed ahead. Re-visit the rudder word.” Here we are. Ready to set the rudder in place and pull up anchor. The direction of the Wind of the Holy Spirit is waiting to be navigated. What your tongue releases will determine the way we go. What is the shift? It’s from watching to speaking pure speech, Holy Spirit inspired words that will lead into the waters of life.

A Hebrew Lesson

In the Hebrew culture, the calendar year is now 5779. Go to Israel today and you will see this on their calendars. Why? Because they didn’t shift to the Gregorian calendar which was created to signify when Jesus came on the scene (a.k.a. B.C. and A.D.). To understand the shift we are in, we must understand what we are coming out of.

The 5770’s began in September 2009 at Rosh Hashanah. Here’s a little Hebrew lesson: 5700 means the year of. 70 is the Hebrew letter ‘ayin and pictorially represents an eye, a watchman, to watch, and a well. The decade has had a focus on raising up watchmen. Now, I (Kimberly) didn’t know this when the Lord interrupted my daily routine of brushing my teeth on August 1, 2009 and told me, “There’s a new breed of intercessors coming. Will you lead them?” and later that day, “Watchmen Arise (a song I wrote several years earlier) is not just a song, it’s a ministry.” In a day, Watchmen Arise International was born. I had no idea that we were heading into a watchmen decade – but God did!

September 30, 2019 will introduce a new decade – the 5780’s. 80 is the Hebrew letter pey and pictorially it represents a mouth. Yes, 5780 introduces the decade of the mouth, the decade of pure speech. It has to do with the place of the throat that the mouth speaks. This is the vocal cords! It is also a two-edged sword and communication. Can we see why the rudder word is significant now?

The ‘70’s suggested the priority of the eyes. “Watchman, watchman what do you see?” Seeing, perceiving and understanding are great, but alone this can be a silent occupation until there is something worth reporting. That’s where the ‘80’s, the decade of the mouth comes in. “‘Ayin gives insight, but it is the pey (the mouth) that gives insight expression.” (Hebrew for Christians)

From Vision to Pure Speech

The insights we have received in the last decade, if released in pure speech and the proper timing will release the vision of the Lord. The prophet Habakkuk penned this is Hab 2:2-4:

Write the vision and make it plain on tablets,
that he may run who reads it.
For the vision is yet for an appointed time;
but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie.
Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come,
it will not tarry.
Behold the proud. His soul is not upright in him;
But the just shall live by his faith.

What we often overlook is that Habakkuk had petitioned the Lord in the previous chapter to move according to his desired result. What he saw and what he determined the solution to be were not accurate, hence his prayers were not being answered. What the Lord was showing him in his exercise of manipulative prayer is that what he saw and what God planned to do about it were outside of Habakkuk’s level of understanding.

In this new decade we will see with the eyes of the Lord and be given pure eternal speech to release what He is saying. It will be a decade of hitting His mark and seeing more measurable results in the advancing of His Kingdom than ever before. Mature sons are intimate with the heart of their Father and speak His language.

We must check our motives. We must verify the reports we hear. We must speak when spoken to by the Word/Holy Spirit. In Matthew 4:4, Jesus used pure speech to address the adversary by stating the written word of Deuteronomy 8:3, we should too.

It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone,
but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’

It is Time for a Heart and Language Check!

We can see clearly from the scriptures below that our spiritual heart is very important to us. This is the place where Holy Spirit resides. If you ask the children, “where does Jesus live” they will tell you He lives in their heart. Yes, we need to guard our hearts. Don’t let anything into our heart except what is permitted by Holy Spirit. From a pure heart will come forth pure speech.

Job 23:12 I have not departed from the commandment of His lips;
I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my necessary food.

Matt 12:34 Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things?
For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

Matt 15:8 These people draw near to Me with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me.

Matt 15:11 Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man;
but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man.

Matt 15:18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man.

Luke 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil.
For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

Romans 10:8-10 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Holy Spirit does not live in your brain complex even though He wants to see it transformed. That is the place of many habitual strongholds. It contains all the voices of old religious patterns, your defiled ethnic origins, corrupted earthly passions and a host of other evil. This is not the place we want to see and speak from as we move into this new decade. It has caused far too much soulish unmet expectations, hope deferred, manipulative prayer and has led to unbelief.

Ephesians 4:29 Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.

Luke 21:15 “…for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to contradict or resist.”

It is time to rejoice and be glad as we arrive into this new season of the ‘80’s, the decade of the mouth. The Lord is well able to conform us to the image of His Son. We will increase in our ability to hear, see and speak what the Father is wanting in this time. Whenever Jesus released the eternal speech of His Father for the now moment it always accomplished that for which it was sent.

It is the season to pay attention to what comes out of our mouths and make sure it lines up with the heart of our Father. We must check our motives and test the voices we hear and follow. Take time to evaluate what you see and say. Here is a chart to help you begin to check your speech as we enter this new decade. May the ‘80’s be a fruitful expression of the Father’s voice through you!
