Greetings IARA members. Now that the Holidays are over and things are back in full swing, there are a few updates I’d like to share with you.

Mark Your Calendars For March 14/15 at Caesar’s Palace, Las Vegas for the IARA/CAR Conference!

The IARA March Roundtable meeting in conjunction with CAR will be March 14/15 at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. Our session will start at 08:15, March 14th with a keynote address by Sandy Swartz, CEO, Manheim, at 08:30.

We will have two morning Roundtables featuring sessions on the Condition Report Process, and The Technology for Remote Rep. The noon Circle of Excellence Award Luncheon will feature Tim Martin, LeasePlan USA as the keynote speaker.

Our new IARA Vendor Subcommittee, chaired by Layne Weber, is making progress on the issue of license plates disposal at turn in. This is an issue that causes extra costs for consignors due to tax payments when plates are not handled properly and there is no history of the action taken at turn in to mitigate any claims.

An IARA orientation luncheon meeting was held in Toronto on February 9th, to introduce the IARA to Canadian Remarketers.

There will be scheduled Certification testing at the CAR Conference on:
Tuesday, March 13th from 1 PM to 3 PM
Friday, March 16th from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM
We will also have a free test on the terminology course as an introduction to the IARA CAR Program through out the conference at the IARA exhibit booth.

Congratulations to Phillip Finley, Georgia Zone Asset Manager, JD Byrider Sales,
for becoming the twenty-second IARA CAR Certified remarketer.

Phil finished the twenty course exams in a two month time period which is a record. He did this by going to the office of Ricky Beggs at Black Book USA on an almost weekly basis and having Ricky do the exam proctoring. Thanks to both Ricky and Phil for a great effort.

MT. ARLINGTON, NJ – The International Automotive Remarketers Alliance (IARA) congratulates Phillip Finley, Georgia zone asset manager for JD Byrider Sales, for becoming the 22nd IARA CAR Certified remarketer.

“Finley finished the 20 course exams in a two-month time period, which is a record. He did this by going to the office of Ricky Beggs at Black Book USA on an almost weekly basis and having Beggs do the exam proctoring. Thanks to both for a great effort,” said Matt Marks, executive director for the IARA.

There are currently 33 participants in the IARA Certification Program, which consists of 20 courses and exams on each course covering all aspects of remarketing.
