Therefore we decided to pay it a visit and kiss the Blarney stone. Why kiss a stone? Well kissing the Blarney stone is said to give you the gift of eloquence. Being an English student this is a very promising gift to me.

So we climbed up the tiny narrow spiral stairs all the way to the top of the castle so that we could hang upside down and kiss a stone that was once kissed by Winston Churchill too. Thousands of people have kissed this stone - this means thousands of cooties and using a disinfectant is not a bad idea. Not that we did.

We watched the Rugby SA vs The Lions. And we won. Twice! Yippeeeeeeee. I have been reading a lot too…onto a new book (another Marian Keyes - actually the only one of her books I haven’t read). Here are a few Pics from our trip.

Hello, beautiful people. It’s Andhari from Insomniac Lolita taking over for the day. Thanks to Megg , for asking me to guest post the other day. This girl is excited. Why? Because I heart Megg. We have a lot of things in common. She’s into fashion, books and she dances! Way better than I am, but still, what’s not to love?

And another thing : we ADORE Sex and The City. Although, who doesn’t?

I gasped when people tell me they hate Sex and The City. HELLO! The show might be over but the ladies are still fabulous, with great successful career and sophisticated life. They wear gorgeous clothes and play like rockstars. That’s inspiring. Men are too prude sometimes to keep an open mind and try to watch it. Little do they know that if they learn about the series ( and the movie ), it can come to their advantages.  As far as I know, once a man says that he likes Sex and the City, girls will throw panties at him. What? I shouldn’t say that? Ahem.

Here are some random things I learn about the series, and the movie :

1.Being single is awesome

This is the ultimate teaching here, right? Singleness is fun. Especially if you have great friends. You can do whatever you want all the time without a man dictating you, or get overly jealous when you don’t spend time with them so much. Thumbs up from this end.

2. Good guys are hard to find ( men cheat, ignore, etc )…

…But when you do, you’re usually bored with them. Seriously, women complain about bad boys but the good ones make them yawn. What’s up with that? Healthy balance, ladies.

3. Being a Nympho will lead to excessive weight gain

Remember Samantha Jones in the movie? Always, always control your sexual urges. You don’t wanna be stuck with one man someday and get tempted by buff surfers then have extra 10 pounds for binging your way out of temptations, do you?

4. You have to allocate some of your salaries for designer items

It doesn’t matter if you leave in an ugly one bedroom apartment and should be moving somewhere more decent, all women should have Manolo Blahnik and Dolce & Gabbana heels in their closets ( which is bigger than the bedroom area itself, according to Carrie Bradshaw ).

5. Don’t change for a guy unless he’s worthy and you can handle it

Carrie tried to quit smoke for Aidan and look how that turned out. I don’t think anyone should ask their partner to give something up all at once like that. He should at least should be wise and ask her not to smoke around him. By the way, if a man asks me to quit partying, for example, he better not dwell on it and just shove it :P.

Anything I miss? What random things you learn from Sex and The City?

I have come to realise that voting and who you are voting for seems to still be a touchy subject for some. I don’t know why, and if asked most people would probably not know either.

I realised this yesterday when I had brunch with my lovely friends Kat and Ryan. Obviously this topic arose and strangely enough we all joked about who we were voting for but none of us actually asked who the others are really voting for. It came out at the end with the usual “I am voting for xxx” and the reply “me too”, but there was no open questions about who will be voting for who.

Why is this? Why was it a rather touchy subject? I don’t know. Maybe it goes back to the fear of people not wanting to know from the days of repression and fear. Maybe it is the way that we are brought up - it is secret.

Who knows? What I do know though is that everyone should vote. I know of people who aren’t voting as they couldn’t care less, or just don’t do politics but honestly I’m not big into politics either and I will be voting today. So, you can too.

I would love to hear opinions on this and why you are or are not voting.

So there have been a lot of changes lately in my life. Some of which I can mention at the moment and some which I can’t.Many people are afraid of change, afraid of the unknown. I agree it can be scray.

At the studio we lost a teacher and gained another. It’s horrible to lose a colleague who is so close. The worst part is that she was not just a colleague but a friend too. People move on in life and I find that change is a good thing. It should be embraced. I am very happy for her and her new job but I  will miss her.

Another change…my 20 Something Bloggers page looks different. I changed my appearance. Not a big change, but a change non-the-less.

Not all changes in life are big rite? But most changes in life are good. They open up many doors and opportunities that might not have been there before. What I’m going on about now doesn’t have anything to do with my appearance change on 20sb, but maybe soon I can reveal what I’m truly babbling about. For now though, I will continue to think of change as a good thing - I am open to change.

I have been watching a lot of Sex and The City lately and it makes me miss my girlfriends sooo much. It makes me miss high school sleepovers and gossiping. It makes me think of cocktails and brunch.

What’s even better than the friends you have close by are the friends that you lose contact with and then come back into contact with. I have a friend from primary school that I recently came back into contact with via Facebook. She was and (i think) still is by far the best friend I have ever had. We started chatting again and it feels like we were never separated. We grew up in completely different worlds (her is England and me in Sunny SA) and yet she still seems exactly the same.

It’s strange how the universe works, how some people in life just click and others, well I won’t mention those.

1. My Boyfriend (long-term-love) who constantly comes to check up on me when I am sick.

By the way i have food poisoning from KFC. This is not fun people, especially as I don’t have time for this food poisoning. I have deadlines to reach and now they must be reached from my sick bed.

2. My oh-so-cute hat and fingerless/mitten gloves.

3. Weekends away in Dullstroom.

4. My COMPLETE series of Sex and The City box set (long-term-love, Hat). I have longed for this box set for three years and after waiting and hinting at birthdays and christmas’ and not receiving I decided to treat myself to it. I now can’t treat myself to anything for the next few months but that is besides the point.

5. Buying my friends gifts. I love buying birthday presents and watching people open them. I think I love it even more than receiving gifts.

6. Emily over at Cupcakes and Cashmere. I just love her blog.

7. Incense and Candles while sitting in bed watching Sex and The City.

8. A good cup of coffee.

9. My dog, Grishko.

I love to see the expression on people’s faces when they open the gifts. I always force them to open it while i’m around. I don’t like it when people keep all their gifts aside and open them “later” or all at once. How boring! Open it now! I think I get more excited than they do.

I love buying cards aswell. You get some really crazy cards and some beautiful cards. I can’t really put any photo’s of the cards up yet as my friends that have not received their gifts will then see their cards (if they read this) - where is the fun in that? I will put some up later though.

So winter came early this year - in my opinion. I also think that winter is going to be very cold this year. I love winter (other than the dry skin part) and after a long and hot summer I can’t wait for winter to return. I love the winter clothes and accessories. I love layering. I love fingerless gloves, mittens and a combination of the two. I love gumboots and hats.

Winter is a great time of year. I heard somewhere that there is no horrible weather just a different kind of lovely weather. Winter is just another kind of lovely weather to me.

I spent Valentines day in Dullstroom (horse riding and fishing), went to a wedding, spent some time in the wild with no cellphone signal, got circled by Lions, went to a dance competition, attended a 5 year old birthday party, did a presentation about professional dancing and teaching, attended three 21st (a 50’s party, an 80’s party, and a normal party). Missed the cake cutting at two of those 21st. The cake I did have made up for the other two though.Matt and i also got new piercings.
