The only solution to unlock 4.11.08 and 4.12.01 baseband is to get your iPhone factory unlocked. Here is a service that provide official factory unlocking for almost every network. But the only legit and working method was SAM unlock which required nothing but Cydia inside your iPhone. Just a few days later, Apple fixed the SAM unlock method and thus it stopped working but people who already got their iPhone unlocked using sam technique were safe as long as they have had backed up unlock activation tickets.

Then there came ApplenBerry's Gevey sim ultra 5.1 who promised to unlock iPhone 4 on any baseband till 4.12.01. Just when the SAM unlock got patched, ApplenBerry announced that Gevey ultra interposer was based on the SAM unlock and so they recalled all the Sim cards back.

If your iPhone 4 is locked on Vodafone carrier, then you can get it unlocked for free by following the guide posted here. There is also an iPhone unlocking service available. So let's begin.

Note: If your device is already running on tethered 5.1.1 jailbreak, follow the guide posted here to untether it.

Absinthe 2.0 supports following devices:
iPhone 3Gs, iPhone 4, iPhone 4 CDMA, iPhone 4S, iPad 1, iPad 2 Wifi, iPad 2 GSM, iPad 2 CDMA, iPad 3 Wifi, iPad 3 CDMA, iPad 3 Global, iPod Touch 3G, iPod 4G and AppleTV 2.

Device(s) that are not supported
Apple TV 3

Step 1: Download Absinthe 2.0.

Step 2: Connect your device and run Absinthe. [Windows users: right click on Absinthe file and choose 'Run as Administrator']

Step 3: It will detect your device. Click Jailbreak.

Step 4: Absinthe 2.0 is now jailbreaking your device. Be patient. Once it does, you will have cydia on your device.

That's it. Apple TV 2

Stay tuned for the updates folks!

iOS 5.1.1 Jailbreak will be compatible with iPhone 3GS

You might know that untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.1 and 5.1.1 is going to be released by next weekend. Two days ago, Pod2G posted a list of device that will support the upcoming jailbreak in which iPhone 3GS, Apple TV 3G and iPod Touch 3G were not supported.

But today, Pod2G has said that the upcoming jailbreak will work on iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 3G. If you are outside US, you won't be able to use siri to find nearby places or anything like that. This is due to the restriction placed inside siri intelligence which refrain it from searching for places outside USA.

But there is always solution for problems and if you have got a jailbroken iPhone 4S, you will be able to bypass this restriction and will be able to enable siri location searches worldwide. You simply have to go to Cydia and download a tweak named as 'International locations for siri'. This tweak is capped at the price of $0.99

After installing this tweak, you will be able to use siri to find out places in your Country. Where is the link ? ETA ? How much % done ? etc.

A: As I said earlier in twitter, there’s still a lot to do to have a user friendly and well tested tool to install the jailbreak on end users devices. Expect a release in a couple of weeks.

Q: Will it be compatible with my ?

A: It will be compatible with any device running iOS 5.1.1 except iPod 3G, iPhone 3Gs and ATV3 (right now, may change in a near future, nobody knows).
Why is it so slow to release now that the iPad 3,1 has been demoed ?
There are 16 different devices out there to work on and to test. It takes time.

Q: May I be a beta tester?

A: No, sorry. Only really trusted people (that can be counted on one hand) could have access to the jailbreak.
