A patient shared a beautiful story with me the other day that I really wanted to share with each of you bc it encapsulates so many points about life, suffering and our struggle as human beings.

This person has been struggling with belief in higher power, in the meaning of her own person struggle with her health, and questioning her own belief in what these struggles are all about-not unlike most of us.

Only a Tiny Population

..are talking on this website with one another. So, please keep this in mind when you are struggling to find someone who has symptoms like yourself. There are only a very few number of people speaking to one another on this chat site compared to how many people I treat and have treated.

It is natural to want to connect to others who are like you-but the truth is, this condition renders so many different kind of symptoms even though they are very similar. As human beings, we are all so different. And, even though this disease is one disease-it really manifests quite differently
in the people that it affects based on the individual nature of the person, how they developed the condition, and many other extenuating factors in that person's life.

Sex After IC

Generally after a person has started to experience the symptoms of IC, sex has already
become unbearable. There are few exceptions to this rule. The vaginal area is usually involved
and if not, penetration affects the bladder so much that it triggers all of the basic symptoms
the person is experiencing with hers or his IC so much that thinking about sex is out of the
question.

It is commonly understood in Western medicine and otherwise that this dynamic may not be
changed. What I would like to communicate is that, as the body becomes better balanced, so
do the various other parts of one's physiological function such as sexual function.

The vaginal balance should become much more normalized. For example, if there is excessive

Hygiene

Sometime you think to yourself that everyone knows what you know or that everyone thinks in the way that you think.

Please everyone do not forget--when you wipe-DO NOT wipe forward!

When you wash yourself in the shower, wash the vagina first and rectum second then wash your hands. Do not wash your rectum then your vagina.

This seems elementary-but people do things sometimes without really thinking about how easy it is to get an infection in this way.

When you are having sex-also be thoughtful to remember these kinds of rules!

Obstacles In Life, Health, and the Heart

I know this fight from the road of illness to the road of wellness is a difficult one. Struggling
with obstacles outside of our control, outside of our understanding presents a pain and a conflict within ourselves that is difficult at best to overcome and sometimes so overwhelming that
it seems unattainable.

In past and present times when I have been faced with issues of the body, of the soul, and of the mind, I have fought hard to overcome, I have fought for what I felt was the truth and the truth eventually showed itself. None of it came easily. But, when it came, I knew that I had fought for it, and won.

Was a great success. I think we all enjoyed our discussion about health and diet and the
challenges that one faces with this condition. Everyone had wonderful suggestions to share
about their own experiences with the others in the group.

As always, the energy was positive and filled with lots of love and hope and encouragement-
all things that are very important to the human spirit, especially in times of need such as
illness.

I want to thank everyone for their participation and tell each of you how much I enjoy these
meetings:).

Matia

One and a Half Decades of IC

Of late it seems that there is a lot of commentary on those who can make it through this
kind of treatment successfully. It has come to my attention that certain people are suggesting that only people who are a little unwell can achieve good results with this treatment.

I have endeavored to post in a subtle manner previously, but, this post will be a bit less so.
There are other websites that would like to steer you away from ICAMA and me,
Dr. Brizman, and have gone to great lengths to keep others from knowing about my
treatment.

In the past, and again recently, it has come to my attention that there is a person or
persons who are saying things that are untrue about me, and about the work that I do,
