Hi everyone!

For those of you who don't know me, my name is Blake - I'm the Brand Manager of I Can Has Cheezburger? We're making some changes to the Lolcats portion of the website, but never fear, your Lols will still get posted. However, instead of daily feed posted every hour, they will be rounded up in a giant article that will be uploaded every Caturday. So tune in every Caturday to see all the Lols from that week in one place!

*This week, there will be two articles being uploaded on Caturday containing the LOLs of this week. Make sure to check both to find your hissterical cat meme inside!

This is in part due to malware bots attempting to steal information from your single image posts, and how advertising plays a role in Cheezburger's ability to function as a home for everyone who enjoys the world we've built over these many years.

I have worked hard to keep Lolcats alive for many years as Cheezburger itself has faced struggles, as I believe it is part of the core DNA that made Cheezburger what it is today. I also understand how frustrating change can be, but we must all adapt as the relentless march of time continues forward.

Tank u berry much fur readin', an' sees u on Caturday!

Caturday is here, and it's the purrfect time for another round of the most unique cat memes on the internet to shine.

Lolcats make me think about the entire concept of cat memes every week. I've already talked about how lolcats are iconic, and what basically made this entire cat meme franchise unforgettable. But the concept itself of cat memes has a much deeper iceberg than any other meme genre online. The surface level is the normal response to cat memes, along the lines of: "Yeah, cat memes have always been popular." An acknowledgment of existence, merely. But the deeper you dive into the cat meme iceberg, the more you understand how profound it is.

I've answered more than once in my life to the question of "What do you do?", with "I work in cat memes." First of all, it's the best and funniest ice-breaker answer I've got up my sleeve, and it's also true. But then I come to think of the fact that there's no other meme-genre answer in existence that'll be true like that. No one can answer truthfully with "I work in elephant memes", or "I work in computer science memes." You might work in a meme company of sorts, but not in cat memes. That's where the meowgic of I Can Has Cheezburger happens - and especially with our beloved lolcat page.

And it's not just me, or us as a team, with our pawsome job description - it's also you! Think about people answering the question: "What do you do for a hobby?" Some people answer "cooking", "jogging", or "gardening". But you, dear lolcatters? You literally make cat memes for a hobby. You're not just doing something for your own amusement - you help the glorious flood of feline funnies the internet has experienced for about 3 decades. That's the greatest way to serve our feline overlords with purride.

What makes cat memes iconic?

There's no one conclusive answer to that question, but as the person curating lolcats for quite some time, and a long-time Cheezburger goodness connoisseur, I think I can make an educated guess.

First of all, a cat meme becomes iconic if it has enough iterations. Sure, some cat memes become super-popular on their own, but if you really think about it, that's the rare case. Try to remember how many versions of Grumpy Cat you know. And what about the Business Cat meme? Meowing heck, even the Cheezburger cat meme has already Can Had in a variety of ways over the years. So when a cat meme is funny enough to take on nine lives of its own, it usually becomes truly iconic.

Second of all, there's the aspect of not a single cat meme, but a group of cat memes with internet fame. And that has only one ultra-iconic example I can think of… lolcats. That's right, our very own lolcat section of the I Can Has site is the bed for some of the most iconic memes that circle the internet today. And since another Caturday came by, it's time to celebrate it with another round of weekly lolcats - making icons one meme and meow at a time.

Get ready to binge all your favorite LOLcats in this weekly recap of your purrfect toil, making the meowest of memes the internet could handle!

When I used to scroll through the I Can Has Cheezburger community's output of lolcats every week I would think to myself it's a shame it can't get more exposure. This is, paws down, the best hub for original cat meme content on the internet. And it has been for literal years. I see memes created the day I log it to curate them, and I also see memes created a decade ago. And some of them could be made by the very same people! And when people huddle together for so long, it's saying something.

But then again, it's not surprising that cat people connect so easily about their love of their cats - especially in such a meme-heavy zone. Because, let's fact it, cats make the best meme material. It was never a surprise to me that cats rule the memosphere, and the rest of the internet, really. When I look at my own cat I just know she could be a meme factory if I only had the time and evergy to follow her 24/7. But because the cat peeps of the ICHC community do maage to meme-fy their cats, and other internet feline legends, it pains me they get less expusure than they deserve. Than you deserve.

So a few weeks ago, as you've probably noticed, the team moved your lolcats to a binge-worthy format of a weekly recap, rather than an hourly posting of single memes. This way, the rest of the Cheezburger visitors can visit comfortably, and purrticipate in the hilarity that is an essential part of our website's DNA for years - the meowgnificent, ameowzing lolcats.

What a week it has been, let's wrap it up with all your lolcats!

Another week has gone by, the Earth has spun seven times around itself, and we're on Caturday again. Which is, non-arguably, the best day of the week. It's not only the day when you can finally shed a week's worth of worries off of you, but it's also the best day to spend time with your cat. And now? Since two weeks ago, it's also the prime time for going over the week's lolcats - because what a Caturday would be without the OG cat meme creations still going strong today?

So after you've gone through the silly cat pictures, the wholesome adoption stories, the cute cat antics, and the extra treat you give your cats because why not - it's time to relax, unwind, and lolcat the weekend away. This week you've made no less than 100 - let's repeat that: one hundred - lols. You've been making some meowing work done. You deserve to chill and enjoy it, preferably with your cat on your lap.

Another week, another Caturday, another round of ridiculous and adorable lolcats!

If you've been here for the past week, just as you've been for most of the past two decades, you've seen our exciting lolcat announcement, where our dear Big Cat Boss explained to you all about what we're doing right here. We're bringing the most cherished lolcats, a true staple of the grand Cheezburger network (and internet cat meme culture in general), to the year of our Ceiling Cat 2026. We love lolcats, and we dearly appreciate the community that makes them, and the last thing we want is to see them disappear because of outside constraints. So here we are, compiling lolcats from the previous week to grace your eyes every Caturday.

I swear that some lolcats make me laugh harder than the rest of the cat memes, cat jokes, and cat tweets I spot online daily. I go over them every week with glee, knowing some of you are here, making moar of dat lolcat goodness from before I graduated. That's hands down impurressive. So without further ado, let's dive into this week's lolcat ocean.

Welcome to the new way to view your very own lolcats - the very best cat memes on the internet!

There's something extra nostalgic about lolcats, especially if you've been on the internet for more than a minute. It's been about 20 years since lolcats appeared in our online life (when, exactly, sources differ), and they rose to absolute fame right here, on our humble platform of a comedic cat-loving website, I Can Has Cheezbueger.

But did you know the first lolcats date back to - get that - the end of the 19th century? Crazy, right? Apparently, cat memes were sort of invented by this one early British photographer from the 1870s, named Harry Pointer (which is so close to being Harry Potter we're mad it's not, just for the sake of it). He used to make cats pose for the camera, and when he developed the pictures, he'd add short and funny captions written on them - much like modern lolcats that we all love and cherish.

And since we all love to see the lolcats you all make today, we round up all the recent ones in one place, right here, that'll go up weekly. Make sure to tune in every Caturday to view your creation! They're all filled with cats and humor from the best community online. Masy Ceiling Cat keep you and your lolcats safe for another week of loling!

Get ready to ruuuuuuuuuuuuumbleeeeeeee! Here are all your LOLcat creations in one hissterical binge. Smiles incoming, so prepare your faces for grins and guffaws aplenty.

What's up, Lolcatters? I hope y'all had a great week. I'm not here to beat around the bush, so let's get right into it.

I know that change can be scary; believe me, I'm a Virgo. Whether you believe in all that astrology stuff or not, every purrson has some level of fear of the unknown. And especially in today's world, where things can change quite quickly, it can feel nearly impawssible to keep up with the never-ending march of "progress". But, change is also the catalyst for new opportunities, new expurriences, and new pawssibilities you might never have even thought of before.

LOLcats is part of the original founding DNA of Cheezburger. Many of you treat it like your safe space, an online community where you can communicate with the world's best format ever created: cat memes. Like I mentioned in previous posts, I've fought hard to keep LOLcats alive for many years. I'm not here to make excuses or bore you with the details, but in my eyes, LOLcats will stay active no matter what life throws at us. Where would the world of feline funnies be if not for your years of contributions to the internet? Needless to say, we're now pouncing because you waddled through and paved the way.

I know that the format change from a daily scrollable feed to a once-a-week dump can be frustrating. However, I'm choosing to think of it like waiting for my favorite series to release a new episode every week. It meowtivates me to get through the week with something to look forward to, and let's be honest, couldn't we all use something exciting and hissterical to look forward to at the end of every week? With the world in as grim a state as it currently is, a light at the end of the tunnel should always be welcomed with open arms.

Anyway, I'm getting off my soapbox now to let your weekly binge of LOLs begin. Take care of yourselves, remember to find meowments to smile, and be the reason somebody giggles today.

So annoying!
