Saturday, October 15, 2011, is our annual Fall Mini-Conference. We're looking forward to seeing you all there! As always, we have a great group of presenters and topics.
Presentation topics include: Creating with an iPad, Collaborative Writing and E-Pub Books, Using Interactive Whiteboards to Enhance Instruction (all grade levels), Using Web 2.0 Tools, Digital Storytelling, Global Projects and One Computer Classroom Activities.
Don't forget that we also give away great prizes, including an iPod Touch and a varieyt of gift cards!

Saturday, October 23 is our annual Fall Mini-Conference. We're looking forward to seeing you all there! As always, we have a great bunch of presenters. Hot topics include using interactive whiteboards to enhance instruction, creating mulmedia projects with Audacity and movie editing software, and amazing ideas for technology integration across all grade levels.
Don't forget that we give a way great prizes and serve delicious pizza!
For those of you that are lucky enough to be able to go to Denver to attend to the ISTE 2010 Conference - Exploring Excellence, you know what a rich experience it will be. It's awesome to be in an environment with so many enthusiastic, like-minded educators. The energy at the Denver Convention Center can't be described!
Don't despair if you aren't in Denver this year. (Start planning on how you can make it to Philadelphia next year.) There are so many ways to attend the conference virtually, there's no excuse for not taking advantage! Here are a few tips to help you out. It's going to take some time and commitment, so settle in and make a plan.
Go through the conference planner and find sessions that you would have attended if you were here. Most session descriptions have links to the session resources, presentations, and contact info for the presenters. Download them all and put them in a folder. Spend some time learning from those resources. If you have any questions, make sure you email the presenter. They'll be happy to help!
The ISTE Connects website will help you find video taped sessions, live blogging, twitter feeds, and other news and events about the conference.
Get the perspective of the attendees as they blog about the various sessions. Not only will you get links to presenter resources, but you'll get the perspective of some really smart educators as they learn.
The ISTE Ning Network will also help you connect with others, and find lots of documentation from the conference.
Join us for a fun and informative morning when we'll learn some new ideas that will add spark to the end of the school year.

Check it out!
While you are there, make sure you register for the 2010 ICE Conference - a Learning Odyssey. As it is every year.... it'll prove to be one of the most valuable learning opportunities you'll participate in all year!
Well.... for ICE COLD anyway! We had the most outstanding crowd of around 80 people. It was a really fun morning. The energy was was amazing. Thinking about all these educators who got up early on Saturday morning to gather together and learn makes me proud to be part of the ICE COLD community. The Mini-Conference was certainly a worthwhile way to spend a Saturday morning. Here's a run down of what we learned....
Dan Rezac reflected on the successes and failures of projects he has done with his students as a middle school technology teacher. If you haven't seen Dan's projects, you have to take a look at how he guldes his students through the project based learning process using Web2.0 tools. Check out Dan's blog for his presentation. Subscribe to Dan's blog. He is a reflective educator who we can learn a great deal from.
Deb Thomson put together a humongous list of Web2.0 tools to use in the classroom. This list should really inspire you. Her session got rave reviews! Thanks Deb for stepping in and putting a great presentation together at the last minute.
Internet Safety is a very hot topic this year. Sister Mary Therese put together this wiki together with some important resources.
Cathy Baker is a real Microsft expert. Her session on Excel was extremely informative. She put together this awesome wiki wiki that is extremely useful for anyone trying to utilize the Office Suite for school.
Even if you use Google every day, you'll find this presentation useful. I presented some crazy stuff Google can do. It was a great session - very interactive. I was adding to it right up until 9:00 a.m, thanks to Jon who had a few more tips for me.
Jon Orech presented Digital Storytelling as only he can do! Jon is one of premier experts on Digital Storytelling and those who had the opportunity to stop in his sessions really learned a lot! Here are his sources. Take some time to explore this wiki - it's full of great information.
