one day with the iphone and i'm still happy, but i really miss wireless syncing on both my ipod touch and iphone. and i want it locally not done over the web. i know that it is not implemented because of mobileme. there would be no reason to buy mobileme if you could do all the sync stuff 'at home'.

on the other hand there is one big problem. the battery will lose a 'lifetime' cycle everytime it's connected to a charger. i once heard that batteries can be loaded a 1,000 cycles and than it's over. dead battery == dead ipod/iphone. if you sync your device once a day it'll last for less than three years - if you like to stay in sync you'll need to sync it at least twice a day, sometimes three or four times. this reduces the life time of my iwhatever to less than a year...

and syncing notes and todos would be a great improvement,too.

i'm now a happy iphone owner - and i have to say it: i like it ;o)

i hold it in my hands for only 6 hours - and i already can't think of being without it. compared to all the cell phone i used in my life - the iphone is the best one i've ever had. and when i once said i was happy with my uphone (samsung u700) - it was a lie (recently sold it for 50 € only to get rid of it) ;o).

my [ two ] must have apps for ipod with 2.0.

i didn't spent much time in the appstore but i already found two apps i won't like to miss: remote (seems it needs a fix as it sometimes loses the connection and is not able to re-estabilsh it) and netnewswire (you need a newsgator account to stay in sync with your desktop, but that's set up easily).

i checked out some more apps but i can't say that i found them useful or amusing, but there are so many more i can try :o)

one more needs an recommendation for sure: ipint. free and fun (if you're at least 17...)

but even worse no working sim card i could use in my old phone. i'm exhausted after minutes and minutes and minutes of talking (yelling), answering the same questions every time. fed up with the brave new t-world. at least for today ;o)

after 7 long hours waiting for the promised iphone i gave up and called the t-mobile customer service and asked for my iphone. monday maybe tuesday or wednesday was the answer. amusing. my second question was about the estimated arriaval of my new sim to use my old phone while the painphone is not delivered: monday maybe tuesday or wednesday. what a nice little joke. t-mobile disables my working sim without notice and can't tell me when the new one arrives. the only thing they know is that both sim and iphone have been shipped. trackingcodes? no, sir i'm sorry. carrier? two different carriers. what carriers? no sir i'm awfully sorry but i don't know...

we live in an age of rockets and computers and t-mobile dosen't even know where their stuff is. ridiculous.

what did i learn today? beeing a customer of t-m*bile is pain in the *ss. and if i'd been a doctor maybe one or two of my patients died because i trusted my call forwarding to my cellphone. you really should thank god i'm only a graphicsdesigner, mr. t-mobile ceo. i'm really upset.

can this [ be done with ] windows, too?

i wonder if this 'control over the air' stuff would work with a windows mobile device (handheld) and a pee cee running one of those wonderful ms os's. i don't think so. i could not even imagine it could probably work. not for a single second (and if it does work it won't be as cool and smooth).

i took the time while waiting for my iphone and updated my ipod touch to 2.0. the update takes it's time and itunes was not able to backup all of my ipod's data (maybe because it was jailbroken). but the update is worth the time and the money for one app, alone: remote.

it is f**cking cool to sit on your couch and control itunes on your mac 'over the air' with your ipod streaming the music back to your home hifi 'thru the air'. i am impressed and that's not a job done easily...

still no [ iphone 3g ] for me :o(

it's noon now and still the promised iphone didn't arrive. the blue/yello mail man passed by, the orange/black mail woman passed by, the icontoaster green/dark blue mail girl passed by. ups, trans-o-flex, gls, dpd and finally dhl - all passing by - i'm now waiting for tnt passing by, too. i wonder who'll deliver the iphone there's not much left of the 'well known' services.

not a single email in the inbox (spam not included in counting) - not one lousy bill in the letterbox - absolutely nothing. i feel a little bit non-existing today...

they (t-m*bile) promised me it'll arrive on the 12th of july. well, today it is the 12th and still no iphone in my hands. since yesterday afternoon my old phone is useless as the old sim dosen't work any longer. t-m*bile already switched me to the new plan, the iphone plan, which requires a new sim (mine's much too old). and they disabled it without any notice - it was quite a quiet afternoon. bad timing on their site - at least bad communication (if one has in mind that t-m*bile's business is communication this is kind of strange).

the funny thing is that i got an email yesterday (late evening) informing me that it would now be possible to 'pre-order' the new iphone. 10 days after i 'pre-ordered' it. this was amusing somehow and it ensured me that today will be a long day full of waiting, time wasting and unpleasant anticipation.

anyway, i'm (still) coooool... ;o)

maybe it's an old fart and i've never heared, seen, read, noticed this before but mail counts the number of emails you have in your inbox in a different way than i would do it. i have about 250 emails stored in three accounts - but mail thinks it's about 4.2 billion of them not growing - always the same number.

it's ok after restarting mail but it could happen every time. there are so many bugs in mail - even me already found two of them - why?

i am overwhelmed by the success of icons 8 (2k8 edition)! today i took a look at the most popular icons and screensavers page at apple and was surprides (surprides is actually a typo but i think it's a cool word and won't correct it as it describes exactly what happend :o) - and yes, surprides © icontoaster.com) to see my little icon set ranking on position 1 (numero uno, nummer eins, number one, nombre un, nummer een, boy bir)

thanks a lot to all brave downloaders making this possible! only to give you an example how big the surprise was: i forgot the shortcut for making screen shots (and i'm a mac user for more than a decade). i don't know what it is that makes icons 8 this popular (also the original version was downloaded far more than 20k times and was published on cd by macpeople (japanese mac magazine) years ago. anyway, keep up downloading via the apple link.

visit mc hot software to download tangle. tangle is an addictive puzzle game of intersecting lines. your job is to remove the intersections. easy. within the first three or four levels it is in fact easy. but it's getting harder level by level.

a simple idea for a great game it'll bring you a lot fun if you like this kind of games. the free demo runs an hour but you can buy the registration code for 20 usd once you're addicted. i think it's worth the money. be careful this game will steal lots of your time ;o)
