We’ve been busy working on several projects and our upcoming vacation is being put on hold to get our orders out.  BOO!  But yay for the business, right?

Originally we notified everyone that we would be away from May 2-7 for a lovely  Cozumel getaway however both Dragos and myself (Stacey) will be here during this time for business as usual.  We’ll keep everyone posted on when we get to re-schedule this amazing trip and will give plenty of notice so you can get your requests in and fulfilled before we leave.

Hey! As an added note, we’ve opened a sister-company – Semo Ink – and are now offering vinyl decals (yep, the ones you put on the back of your car windows) and screen printed apparel! Got a tshirt idea? Contact us and we can design it AND print it for you!!

Often times our clients will have a fancy, very detailed logo and then find out that once they start printing that logo they are running into really high printing costs.  Simple is better when it comes to branding.  If you find yourself paying outrageous costs for screen printing due to all of the colors in your logo, you may want to simplify it down to a more manageable rate.

Here’s an example of a logo we created for Luvaboos a few years back.  Today we took that logo to a black and white version to help them save the cost of printing their shopping bags.  Still super cute, just more cost efficient!

Since 2008 we have been managing The Cloth Diaper Whisperer blog but this past week we had the pleasure of giving it a well needed facelift.  It was time to bring this blog to a more modern look – clean – easier to read – without the excess clutter.  Over time your website may get cluttered with “stuff” you randomly add such as links to other blogs, tags, archives, etc and it’s not a bad idea to de-clutter the site from time to time so your visitors can easily access what they’re looking for.

So here’s a shot of the new look that was implemented this week:

The Cloth Diaper Whisperer blog is a part of the DiaperShops.com family.  Their main retail store is www.KellysCloset.com which we designed and maintain on a daily basis as well.  We really enjoy working for this client.  Great people and boy do they run some AWESOME cloth diaper sales on their sites!  :)

Sure, you’d like to be able to afford a full website re-design but you cannot afford it at the moment.  Or maybe you just do not have time to research and dedicate to reviewing all of the work that needs to be done on your site.  Sound familiar?

If this sounds like your situation then my advice to you is to work in baby steps until you get your website to where you want it to be.  What does that mean exactly?  Take a look at your website.  What is it about your site that you dislike the most?  Work on that first.  Maybe it’s your navigation.  Is it at the top and you’d like to add a side navigation as well – or swap the side to the top?  Is your product page a little unfriendly and you’d like to have a new layout for that to make ordering easier for your customers?  Maybe you just need a few new ad banners on your home page.  Whatever it is that you’re not in love with on your site, tackle that first.

Here’s an example of baby steps on one of our client websites.  All we’re doing here is cleaning up the layout of the product page and wow does it make a huge difference when things are laid out nicely.  It makes your ordering process a little clearer which will result in a stronger likelihood for an order.

So basically the moral of this story is, if you do not have the time to do a full redesign, maybe you don’t have the funds, there’s always smaller things you can do to make a large impact on your website and in turn convert more lookers to buyers! xoxo

I’ve been known to have one too many irons in the fire at all times. That’s just how I am made I guess. So here’s what’s new around our neck of the woods. My husband and I have ventured into screen printing and vinyl decals for your car windows. Yeah, those clever little stickers on the back of the window advertising your business or some smart comment (lol) – that’s what we’re making these days.

We’ve outsourced these services for years for our clients and our own business and finally decided to take the leap into the business ourselves. With my background in graphic design it was a no-brainer really. Half of the job is already done most of the time since my clients already hired me to do their logo or special t-shirt graphics. Now we’re just printing in house which is offering them a more customized experience and quicker turn-around.

Instead of running this all under iCreativeMedia, we have branched off into Semo Ink. It’s still the same people you know (and hopefully love) from iCreativeMedia, just with a separate division to keep things straight book-wise. We always have to think on the tax end of things don’t we?

So in a nutshell, here’s our new division’s business cards. Look for an upcoming website www.semoink.com this next month as well.

Now THIS was a fun project! I really loved working with Tony of OAMG and getting an opportunity to show off his work and gorgeous models. You could say this was an easy one, after all, all I did was show his amazing artwork / photography in a fashion that easy for users to browse and download.

A little about Tony Mitchell, the photographer and owner of OAMG, he is an industry leading fitness photographer that was named as the World Physique Creative Photographer of the Year. Aside from fitness, Tony also shoots a number of other genres such as fashion, sports events, landscape, still life, etc. Did I mention he also directs? Yeah – he does it all. Creative mastermind.

Tony of OAMG has made a name for himself in the fitness industry in the past few years due to his amazing eye for detail and ability to “bend the light” and present the perfect environment for his subjects. I’ve personally been a long time admirer of his work and was honored to be brought in to do this project.

I’d have to say that pretty much 80% of our business comes from the youth industry.  A lot of eco-friendly, natural parenting businesses use our services and we’ve made a name for ourselves in that field.  That’s great!  But it’s also refreshing to do “other” things as well isn’t it?  :)

This website is a bit on the personal side for myself.  The website I designed here was for my personal trainer.  I’m a little biased, BUT, he is the absolute best personal trainer around.  You’ll find my story on his website if you have a free moment to read it.  Hopefully it inspires you if you are in the same situation that I was in.

So back to the design – this site was built on a WordPress platform to maximize the client’s ability to edit the site himself, if he ever decides to do so.  Wordpress is beautifully built on the back-end to be very friendly to clients that may not have time to “learn a new program” and it’s great because it’s absolutely FREE.  Umm…yes…beautiful!  ;)  You do have to keep up with the updates to protect your site’s integrity, however, it’s a fab CMS and what we primarily use for all of our non-ecommerce website clients.

Are you completely happy with your logo?  Shouldn’t you be?  I mean, it IS your company’s identity isn’t it?  Well guess what….we weren’t 100% happy with our logo / branding either so we made the leap and rebranded iCreativeMedia!  Woohoo!  Here’s our snazzy new logo:

So let’s see how long we stay happy with it!  I’d say we’re going to like this one for a long time.  We do NOT plan on rebranding again as it does take some effort to get all aspects redone such as your business cards, print media items and web graphics.  As designers our projects usually sit on the back burner for months, sometimes years, just as the shoemaker that has holes in his soles, we too have waited on this redesign for a long time.

We hope you like our new signature!  Simple.  Creative.  Modern.  Love it!

AMP Diapers is one of our clients that we work with daily.  They are based in Winnipeg, Canada and we must say, we absolutely adore them!  This week we designed two new packaging labels for the new AMP Diapers release.  One Swim Diaper hang tag and a Belly Band Wrap Design for the new All-in-One Diaper.  The owner of AMP Diapers wanted to keep the design very simple and to the point.

Packaging design in Canada is a bit different as they must have the same size lettering for the English language as well as the French.  IF you use both languages on the package of course.  This can be a little challenging on the clutter-side of things if you have to have all of the information on one side like we do in the belly band design here.  It’s much easier to “keep it clean” on the hang tag design since we have two sides to place each language on.
