Sat, 21 Feb 2009 06:58:58 +0000 http://wordpress.org/?v=2.7.1 en hourly 1 icyberlebrityhttp://feedburner.google.com My MAC Hello Kitty Makeup Haul http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/icyberlebrity/~3/B1ITIfKFhwg/ http://deandreaxox.com/?p=221#comments Thu, 19 Feb 2009 13:15:15 +0000 Deandrea http://deandreaxox.com/?p=221 dsc03543.jpg Meoooooww!  Lol!  This is my first ever makeup haul that I’m actually blogging on!  I’m sure you guys have already seen many hauls from MAC’s Hello Kitty line all over the blogosphere by now but you haven’t seen mine yet hehe!  It’s only appropriate that my first ever blogged makeup haul be from MAC!  Since I was in 6th grade I’ve been a die-hard fan of MAC makeup.  I had subscriptions to beauty mags where the popular celebs at the time, like TLC, would be wearing it.  MAC always ran the most exotic ad campaigns ever & I loved the fact that they catered to pop culture.  My oldest sister’s bff was a makeup artist in Atlanta & I remember her having alot of MAC makeup every time she came home that she’d let us play in.  She was beautiful & her makeup was nothing short of perfect at all times!  From there my love affair began & nothing else has compared since!  Of course back then I’d only get the lipglasses but I knew I’d have an everlasting relationship with them!

On this particular haul, I picked up 3 pinkish lipsticks- Fashion Mews, Big Bow & Strayin’. I picked up the pink blush Tippy, the brushes & the compact mirror thats shaped like Hello Kitty’s head.  I only wanted the pinks & frosty colors because I am totally addicted to the babydoll look.  I always wear pinks no matter the season.  As far as the eyeshadows go, the colors seemed so intimidating looking at the palletes so I didn’t buy them.  There were two sets, the Too Dolly & the Lucky Tom, with 4 colors each.  They very bold & when I do my eyeshadow I usually go pretty easy with soft rosy purples, pinks & silvers!  Either way though, I decided to look on YouTube for others who have done looks with both pallettes already & found that I actually like them & they’re not as scary as I thought so I’m gonna go after them before they sell out lol!  I wasn’t interested in any of the other things they had.

My adventure went like this..  I was waiting on the 12th to get here because I’d totally looked over the fact that the accessories would only be sold online.  I called to Macy’s here to see whether they were gonna get the Hello Kitty line in their store & the clerk told me that the accessories would be online only but they’d already debuted the line early in their store!  Can you say “PISSED”?!  Like ooommgg…  It was already around 8:15pm & it would take me all of 30 minutes just to drive all the way to Germantown & I wasn’t even dressed!!  Basically this meant that I’d already lost a day!  When it comes to a limited edition MAC Collection, you don’t want to lose an HOUR much less a DAY!!  So since I knew the good stuff might already be picked over & that they wouldn’t be carrying the accessories, I decided to just order both the makeup & accessories online.  To my horror the brushes and compact mirrors were SOLD OUT!!!  I was devastated!!  So I purchased makeup I wanted at the site but ended up having to go on Ebay to get my accessories for double the prices they originally were.  I felt like a total idiot paying $75 for plastic brushes that were originally $49.50 & $48 for a compact mirror that was originally $22 but when I get in my mind that I want something I have to get it!

I haven’t tried anything on yet but when I do, post it.  For now though, just check out the pics of everything I bought sprawled across my bed lol!  So who’s checking for the MAC Hello Kitty Couture line that’s coming soon?

My sister Ta called me today to tell me that Hello Kitty was coming to MAC & I FREAKED!!  I loooooove MAC makeup & when it has cute themes that’s all the more reason for me to get it!  I’m such a sucker for these marketing gimmicks because the packaging is always cute… though for this Hello Kitty line I’m not feeling those circles.  I get the black because MAC is black but the mod circles?!  When the Barbie Loves Mac line launched I made sure to be at the Galleria(Houston TX) the day it debuted lol!  I can be such a girl sometimes.  So now that Hello Kitty is coming to my favorite brand of makeup I just have to be there opening day right?!

Anyway I did a Google search so that I can find promo shots & see how it looks.  The collection is uber-adorable!  I spotted some pinks but not as many as I expected.  Just in time for spring(even though I wear pink makeup year-round lol)!  I’m gonna be a kid in the candy store!  It’s gonna be available online Feb 10th & in stores on Feb 12th.  So who’s gonna beat me to the MAC stands!?

This year I’m in Cleveland hanging out with my besties for New Years.  I went clubbing on New Year’s Eve & New Year’s night.  They went tonight too but I stayed in at the hotel.  I’m done with the scene for now.  It just doesn’t feel the same when I come home since my folks don’t live here anymore.  I’m making the best of it & trying to have the best time possible.  I saw a handful of people that I was looking forward to seeing but was disappointed by others.  So much for that right?  Lol!  I made a mistake & forgot to pack regular shoes so I have to wait on Mudd Puddles to open downtown so I can go in & buy some boots.  I’ve been wearing stilettos the whole time I’ve been here lol!  They’re comfortable but it’s totally getting old.

Anyway 2008 was awesome as far as money goes but I’m not sad to see the year go since every other aspect of my life was pretty slow.  No boyfriend, no SEX.. lmfao.  SERIOUSLY.  My mom had the nerve to tell me that’s why my head hurts all the time =/  I’m always working which means I’m always in the house.  I usually only come out for food lol!  So I haven’t had time to meet anyone as I’m super self-absorbed but I am SO looking forward to 2009 being my most awesome year ever!  I just want to live my 20’s the the fullest because time waits for no man & that’s what I plan to do!  I’ll be more dedicated to my blog & my sites too.  These are not resolutions though..  just goals!  Watch me work lol.

So now that I make my own money & can make moves whenever I want to make moves, I’ve started doing the things I’ve always wanted to do!  So to Dallas I flew & we partied at Carson’s Live.  It was super packed in there!  The most awesome costume I saw was of a girl dressed as Beyonce for the Single Ladies video.  Unfortunately I refused to play papparazzi that night & didnt ask for a picture lol.  As for my costume, I ended up getting it at the last minute so I had to settle for being a maid lol!  I was upset about that as I wanted a more original costume but at least I’ll know to get a headstart next year.  Hmmm.. maybe I should go ahead & buy my 09 costume now!  :D

]]> http://deandreaxox.com/?feed=rss2&p=152 http://deandreaxox.com/?p=152 My Birthday 2008 http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/icyberlebrity/~3/RkGURBT7SgI/ http://deandreaxox.com/?p=188#comments Sun, 19 Oct 2008 16:40:33 +0000 Deandrea http://deandreaxox.com/?p=188 dsc03087.jpg Im another year olderrrr!  Umm.. somehow thats bittersweet lol.  So the birthday plans were put off & I’m just gonna go to Dallas for Halloween.  I hope my other bff Tiffany can go with me.  I ended up hanging out in Memphis with my sister Ta, Tiffany & Nikki.  Basically the day portion sucked.  I was still ummm “sick” so I felt really blah.  I went to the mall & nothing was cute to me.  It was one of those days where I thought everything just looked ugly on me.  Despite telling myself that I was gonna try to stay cool & not let anything get me down on my birthday I was still sort of.. off.  I was so ready to come back home & rest up for the night but that didn’t work out either as I was all over the place.  None of us were really ready!

I didn’t expect to have fun as I was so disappointed about not feeling like myself & having to spend my birthday in Memphis.  I was also upset that I actually DID start preparing for my birthday early but still I didn’t have anything together.  However, I had an AWESOME time!  I drank as much as I could as fast I could so I could try to change the mood I was in.  That helped lol.  I met the coolest white girls ever in the club.  They were hilarious!  We danced & took alot of pictures but I ended up hating those too(except the one on this post) so sadly they’re not going up.  Don’t hate me ok?  It’s my birthday lol!!
