So what does Google Chrome Means ?
Well according to their press release they are expected to release it not before 2010. As its going to be a very basic operating system so of course it wont be as powerful as Microsoft or OSX. But its going to be open source source so its free and with the Google API experience it would give developers to develop apps on it free of cost and maybe sell it on their app store. Apart from that competition with Microsoft 7 and OSX is going to be tough. Consumer market maybe but corporate sector i am not sure.

Features of Google Chrome Operating System:
Though in their press release Google did not reveal any part of their operating system so lets assume what could be so wonderful about Google OS, could it be revolutionary like iPhone which i am not sure as they always build simple / better and then focus on revolution. So here is what i think Google OS could bring along:

• It wont crash at least it would not have a blue screen.
• No viruses and Trojans, probably they are redoing the architecture around Linux so no virus and secure.
• Gmail Account will be your log in name to the operation system, you are logged into the operating system you are logged into every Google product no more login / password screens.
• Not cluttered with baseless applications like .Net framework in Windows Vista, and a chunk of useless software’s and applications.
• Its Free of cost means reduced prices on notebooks (though Ubuntu / Linux made such attempts didn’t work out pretty well so lets see what Google pulls out of that).
• Very simple and easy to install 3 clicks install would be awesome, of course drivers should be installed with it.
• As it wont have cluttered applications so maybe they might be able to jump up internet speed / video streaming speed / browsing speed.
• No need for offline applications, web will be build in the operating system everything in it will be connected with web, for office usage use Google Docs, Calendar use Google Calendar.
• Very few desktop applications, initially or for a couple of years.
• No more flashy screens or desktop, simple clean and usable.
• No more starting an OS you open your laptop and your operating system is on, basically there shouldn’t be a shutdown or restart feature in the operating system.
• Maybe web apps would be able to work offline in Google Chrome, i.e. python application, php, java application will run smoothly offline and fill in the lack of missing apps.
• Interface is going to be as simple as Chrome, means no flashy elements, no effects and no heavy graphical user interface.
• Core focus of the Operating system is going to be go online and work around the web, for office use Google Docs, for videos use youTube.

Well they are mostly just random prediction, no one can be sure how well it goes or would it be Microsoft OS killer. We would have to wait and see.

What is youTube RealTime ?
YouTube Real time is something closer to Facebook toolbar which was something inspired by Microsoft Windows so we all should give credit to Windows for it. Any how apart from that YouTube Real Time is a toolbar that shows a list of friends currently online, their recent activities and provides notifications when one of your friends posts / comments or rates a video. Quite a familiarity with Facebook but i am trying to avoid the comparison. So according to the blog post by Google the toolbar does lack some of the facebook features like chatting with friends and watching videos at the same time for which i am sure the engineers at Google are working round to add them up.

How do i enable youTube RealTime ?
The Real time Toolbar is an invite only just like Google’s Gmail, which gives a good viral marketing for the toolbar and helps avoid any drastic pressure on the system. So if you have a friend who some how got the invite then you can be invited to it as each of the friend can 25 invitations. MySql Goes to Sun and Sun Goes to Oracle

Oracles’ chief executive, said in a conference call Monday morning that Sun’s Java programming language and its Solaris operating system were the main attractions. But that might not be the case as Oracle was more intersted in MySql then any one else. In 2008 Sun Microsystem annouced a definitive agreement to acquire MySQL the worlds fastest growing open source databases for $1 billion. Which accelerated Sun’s position in enterprise IT to a $15 billion database market. Though many people looked at the accusation with a controversial eye stating that MySql could have had a bigger value then what SUN offered, Google, Yahoo & Microsoft could have paid much more.

Now with Oracle taking over SUN does make a good sense as to how the long term planning worked out (connecting the dots backward). With millions of global deployments including Facebook, Google, Nokia, Baidu and China Mobile, MySQL will bring synergies to Oracle, the integration will greatly extend the commercial appeal of MySQL’s offerings and improve its value proposition.

Gmail undo a new lab’s add on where you can undo your send email’s within 5 seconds of dispatch and i think 5 seconds are enought to get the flash backs. Tun on Undo Send in Gmail labs under settings, and you’ll see a new “Undo” link on every send email. Click “Undo”, and your message will be grabed before it’s send and take you back to compose.

Though you should remember this magic is for 5 seconds only you cannot pull back the emails that have been send. Go ahead check it out.

Screen Toaster is compatible with Windows XP, Windows Vista, Mac OS X and Linux and is optimized to run on Firefox 2 +, Internet Explorer 7 +, Chrome, Opera 9 and Safari. Though it uses java applet so sometimes it might take a while to open on slow internet connection.

But now Mozilla is also coming to the game to replace the blank page with something useful to enhance your browsing experience with “Cognitive Shield”. The cognitive shield will some place work similar to Google chrome it will keep track of your recent and frequently visited pages but instead of filling up the blank page with thumbnails it will show you a dull set of icons for those pages. If you don’t take your mouse over the blank screen there is chance you might not notice but if you do it would show you color full favicons of your most frequently visited websites. Unlike Google Chrome you can also disable this behavior by clicking the asterisk in the bottom left corner of the screen.

You can enter up to 5 keywords or topics and Google trends will present you with data regarding how often they have been searched for, which geographical location the keywords are most important & a time line on the relevancy of the keyword / topic with past time. Located beneath the Search Volume Index graph is there News reference volume graph. This graph shows you the number of times your topic appeared in Google News stories. As the name say’s Multiple Inbox does not give you ability to have Gmail inbox for seperate email accounts which we are using with Gmail, this was the first thing that came in to my mind. Though Multiple Inbox gives you ability to divide your inbox into portions and help you sort your email easily. Simply after installing Gmail Multiple Inbox you can go to setting and set up rules for the multiple inbox i.e. any mail that is marked with a star  ‘is:stared’ show it separately in you multiple inbox panel also you can configure where you want to place your multiple inbox i.e. on top , or on left or bottom.

So Multiple Inbox is the ability to divide your inbox into portions based on your own settings. A good feature to sort your mails but adding to many labs feature does give issues with performance, specially the initial loading of gMail is becoming problematic in Firefox.
