20 Ways to Increase Your Facebook Likes and Engagement

Advertise on Facebook to get more “likes”. This is the quickest way to grow your fan base. The Supre fashion brand did this to obtain 40,000 fans quickly.

Rotate your ads “DAILY” people get tired of hearing the same thing in conversation so change your ad! Conversion (CTR) rates can drop by 50% after the first 24 hours. Do not “set and forget”

Add Facebook Social Plugin Box to your Blog and Website (60% of my “likes” are achieved this way)

Free exclusive video that can only be viewed if you like the page.

Run a competition. Everyone likes a competition

Make it obvious on a custom landing page by providing a big bold “Like our Page”

Initially ask friends and family to like your page. A bit overdone but essential at the beginning

Offer a free ebook to obtain a “like” (just like you should be doing for email subscriber acquisition)

Post content from your blog to Facebook whenever you write a new post. Facebook users love receiving new content on Facebook without having to go looking for your blog. Treat Facebook as an extension of your blog.

Provide enticing high resolution photos. Compelling photos that are appropriate for your target audience will keep them coming back and make them share and so drive more likes from their friends

Ask questions regularly using Facebook’s native question app.

Include a link to your Facebook page in your email signature

Provide a compelling welcome video on your Facebook landing page

Simple but often missed: Add a “follow us” on Facebook button near the top of your website and blog pages

Create an incentivised “Like” page that gives people a reason to like your page.

Include the Facebook like button on your email HTML template so that people can like your facebook page from the regular email newsletter

Add a large custom banner to your blog and website asking to “Like

Add a link to your Facebook page as one of your three LinkedIn website links that are part of your LinkedIn settings in your profile

Add a newsworthy update that is relevant for your industry or market niche to your Facebook page every day

Offer “Special” including discounts to Facebook fans. The majority of Facebook users “like” a page to obtain a discount

Use Instagram Direct for eCommerce Marketing

Hold a Contest

Post a product photo with instructions stating that the first 10 people to comment on the photo will receive a direct message from you with detailed information on how to enter a secret contest. You can also ask each of the 10 people to submit a photo of themselves using the product to win prizes. Then post the best photos to different social channels for added content.

Promote New Products

Nothing can beat the way of direct messaging to let select groups of followers know about a new product. You can send a private message containing a photo of a newly launched product through Instagram Direct (but cannot share them on social network sites). This encourages investigation and sparks word of mouth. Be sure to also include a link.

Feature Sales and Coupons

Reward your top followers with exclusive sales promo codes and coupons. These are the people who comment, like and share your content frequently. A good idea is to send the photo to selected followers with a coupon code letting them know that they are your loyal fans.

Hold a Q&A Group Chat

Instagram Direct enables online merchants to interact with their followers by supporting a chat function. In addition to threaded conversations, you can also host question answer sessions to learn about your followers and educate them as well. This is a great way for qualitative market research.

Target Followers Via Their Demographics

Through direct message you can send special photos and videos to your followers based on their locations or demographics. This is important because you can ask for their feedback to be used as brand research.

For instance, you can ask your California based customers about your latest products and services. Instagram is more popular among teens and millennials as they are the most active mobile users and more likely to share their lives online. Therefore, Instagram is considered an attractive channel to target this group of people.

Behind the Scenes Stories

This strategy serves as a way to humanize your business and deepen your relationship with your customers. The images and videos can include customers using your products or something like happy moments in their lives.

Instagram Direct messages can help you to search for customers who are a fit for your brand and reach out to them directly.

Task Management Tip #1: Get things done by thinking on paper

Prepare thoroughly if you want to get things done. List every step of the job in advance. Break the job down into its constituent parts before you begin. Simply writing out every detail and thoroughly preparing in advance will help you to stop procrastinating and get things done.

Task Management Tip #2: Be fully prepared

When you sit down to work or to begin a task, make sure that you have everything at hand so that you won’t have to get up or move until the task is done. Being fully prepared is a powerful motivator for staying with the task until it is finished.

Task Management Tip #3: Do one small thing to get started

There is an 80/20 rule that says that the first 20 percent of the task often accounts for 80 percent of the value of that task. This is probably what Confucius meant when he said that, ‘‘A journey of 1,000 leagues begins with a single step.’’ Once you have taken even one small step to start the job, you will stop procrastinating and often find yourself continuing on with the task to completion.

Task Management Tip #4: ‘Salami slice’’ the task

Just as you would never try to eat a whole loaf of salami at once, don’t try to take on all of a job from the start. Sometimes the best way to stop procrastinating and complete a major job is to take a small slice and complete just that piece, just as you would take a single slice of salami and eat it.

When you select a small piece of the task and then discipline yourself to do it and get it behind you, it will often give you the momentum you need to counter inertia, stop procrastinating, and get things done.

Task Management Tip #5: Practice the Swiss cheese technique

Just as a block of Swiss cheese is full of holes, you treat your task like a block of cheese and you punch holes in it. Select a five-minute part of the job and do only that. Don’t worry about the whole job. For example, if you want to write an article or a book, break the task down into small pieces that take an identifiable amount of time to complete and do just one small piece at a time whenever you get a chance.

Many authors begin by writing one page a day. If you are doing research, you can read one article per sitting. Many people write complete books on airplanes, or complete their college degrees with snatches of time between other activities. If you wrote one page a day for a year, you would have a 365-page book by the end of the year.

Task Management Tip #6: Do the task that causes you the most fear or anxiety

Often, it has to do with overcoming the fear of failure or rejection by someone else. In sales, it may be associated with prospecting. In management, it may be associated with disciplining or firing an employee. In relationships, this may have to do with confronting an unhappy personal situation.

In every case, you will be more effective if you deal first with whatever is causing you the greatest emotional distress or fear. Often this will break the logjam in your work and free you up mentally and emotionally to get things done.

Task Management Tip #7: Start your day with the most unpleasant task first

Get it over with and behind you. Everything else for the rest of the day will seem easier in comparison.

A recent study compared two groups of people. One group started an exercise program in the morning. The second group started an exercise program in the evenings after work. The researchers found that the morning exercisers were much more likely to still be in the program six months later. Starting the day with exercise was much more likely to lead to the habit of regular exercise than putting it off until the end of the day when it was easier to make excuses and procrastinate.

Task Management Tip #8: Think about the negative consequences

What will happen to you if this job is not done on schedule? Both fear and desire are great motivators of human behavior. Sometimes you can motivate yourself by the desire for the rewards ofof task management completion. Sometimes you can motivate yourself into action by thinking about the negative consequences and what will happen to you do not get things done as promised.

What do you think about these time management tips? If you know other effective ways to stop procrastinating and get things done, please share and comment below!

1. Don’t just give people reasons to buy. Instead, tie what you’re doing, asking or looking for to a wider context; one that the reader or watcher will relate to, and treasure. That’s what turns someone else’s tale into a story that people choose to get involved with. And when you tell them that story, you give readers reasons to keep reading and watchers reasons to keep viewing. You make it personal for them.

2. The same words will never carry exactly the same meanings. And that is because they are never seen or felt in exactly the same context twice. As soon as the context changes (be it the situation or the mood of the recipients), the impacts of the words also change.

3. Words are never just words. They may be read, heard or viewed as words, but they are never absorbed that way. And how they are absorbed determines how they are acted on.
